It'll be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on Thursday 19 November, and if you're anything like us, we're struggling to contain our excitement.

However, you can get yourself prepared in the meantime. Not only are there plenty of official screenshots and a couple of trailers online, a community project has popped up to give us a virtual tour around Leonida, including Vice City and the other confirmed and rumoured areas of the game.

We're apparently getting the largest open world setting seen in a GTA game yet – at least according to a listing accidentally posted on Amazon's Brazilian site. And you can scroll around it, Google Maps style on an interactive website.

There are pins where it's believed each of the release game screens are taken from, while additional information has been gleaned from leaks and other art.

Of course, Leonida is loosely based on Florida, including its own Keys area, while Vice City is Miami – and there are nods to some real-world photos for comparison.

It's a truly impressive project and if the game does indeed allow you to travel the length and breadth of the map on show, it will indeed be huge. Let's hope so.

Back to the Amazon leak and the listing also revealed (via VGC) that there will be dynamic weather conditions and, perhaps most excitingly, an in-game social network to "watch viral videos, follow influencers, and discover world events".

NPCs will also reportedly have their own lives – navigating their our routines and random events around you.

Hopefully we'll find out a bit more soon, with a third game trailer thought to be on its way. You'll have to make do with the map for now though, and check out the pre-order details if you haven't have managed to place yours yet.

And, as they say, every little helps.

This pre-order is for a physical copy of the standard edition, which will play on both PS5 and PS5 Pro. You do need to be aware though that it doesn't include a disc – you get a download code in the box itself.

There has been a leak suggesting a disc version will be released after launch, around December time, but for now, you'll have to download the game just as you would if you bought it digitally on your console.

You will thought get your pre-order shipped early, with Rockstar claiming the download code in a box versions being sent out on 12 November – a week before the release date. That's to allow you to preload the game so you can play it from day one.

We're keeping an eye out for other GTA 6 deals, which we'll bring you as soon as we spot them. We'll also keep an eye out for PS5 Pro deals, as we suspect that'll be the best way to play the new Grand Theft Auto on release.

So come back to T3 often to find out more.

And that's even considering that the physical edition doesn't include a disc – it's just a download code in a box.

It's certainly proven contentious. Many will pre-order the game through the PlayStation or Xbox stores on their consoles, of course. But even if you do so online, through the likes of Amazon, Argos, GameStop or Best Buy, you still have to download the game entirely.

And there will be no trading it in again once you've finished, as the code will have been redeemed to your account forever.

GTA 6 pre-order stockists, prices and details here

However, there might be some better news coming for those who would rather own GTA 6 on a disc. Polish website PPE (via VGC) claims that a disc version could be coming in December – a month after the game is launched (on 19 November).

PPE already got it spot on when it suggested the physical box would be download code only at the pre-order phase, long before we found out.

The leaker has also got retail information right before the launch of other major releases.

Whether this is enough to make you hold off from a pre-order purchase is another thing. After all, there is no physical release for the Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition, and according to the people we know who have ordered the game already, that's the version they've opted for.

You can currently only get that on the respective digital stores from PlayStation and Xbox. And considering it contains exclusive in-game items and at least one mission, it seems an attractive option for just a little more cash (£20 extra in the UK, $20 in the US).

The biggest game of the century so far is nearly here – GTA 6 is open to pre-order now, ahead of its release on PS5 and Xbox on 19 November. Still, you might have some questions about it, not least because every screenshot and trailer of the game released so far appears to be jaw-droppingly high-fidelity.

If you're a PS5 owner wondering about the game's compatibility, or if you don't currently own a console but plan to buy one to play what is a genuinely titanic gaming release, you're in the right place – here are some key answers about what hardware the game will run on, and how.

Will GTA 6 require a PS5 Pro?

Here's the big headline question – given how good it looks, will you need a PS5 Pro to run GTA 6? No.

Rockstar has long since confirmed that the game will release for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, meaning that it will be available to play on base hardware from the launch of this generation. That means that if you have a PS5 right now, you're absolutely fine to play the game when it launches.

It also means that if you don't have a console, you can choose between a PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S as to where you end up playing it. The game isn't releasing on PC at first, although that will hopefully come later, and it also hasn't been announced for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Will GTA 6 be PS5 Pro enhanced?

This is a more difficult question to answer. According to the PlayStation Store listing for GTA 6, the game will indeed be enhanced for the PS5 Pro. However, Rockstar and PlayStation have said absolutely nothing about what this actually means.

Sometimes game developers tell us before a game releases what the differences will be between playing on PS5 and PS5 Pro, whether it's higher resolutions, framerates or better ray-tracing.

In this case, we don't know anything about what'll improve; that said, we have months to go before it comes out, so there's no reason to believe that we won't get these details eventually.

Frankly, given the extra power offered by the PS5 Pro compared to every other console on the market right now, it's a given that the game will run better, but we'll have to wait for further details to know in what ways.

Will GTA 6 be better on PS5?

Here's another more contentious question. In theory, the versions of GTA 6 coming to PS5 and Xbox should be the same in terms of content, PlayStation and Rockstar have a marketing partnership pushing people towards the PS5.

A recent blog post confirms that there will be various PS5-specific enhancements, too, including using the DualSense's haptic triggers, its built-in speaker, and the console's 3D sound engine for more immersion.

In practice, none of those will be all that game-changing (and I always turn the DualSense's speakers off in-game as I hate how they sound), but these little touches do mean that the game will arguably have slightly more to offer on PS5 compared to Xbox, if you're keeping track of all the minutiae.

Where to pre-order GTA 6 on PS5

UK – £69.99

- from Amazon UK
- from Argos

US – $79.99

- from Amazon US
- from GameStop
- from Best BuyView Deal

If you're a dedicated PlayStation gamer and you want a copy of GTA 6 locked in for launch day, you'll find some links above for pre-orders. It's worth knowing and reiterating that the "physical copies" being sold in stores won't actually have discs, though.

They're going to be download codes in boxes, which is a frankly grim step that nonetheless will mean that Rockstar is completely safe from pre-release leaks. The firm indications are that a disc version will follow eventually, but it's fairly rotten to know that this won't be available at launch.

We're a day away from Grand Theft Auto VI hitting stores – to pre-order, at least. The game is due on 19 November 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, but you can order your copy from tomorrow, 25 June.

It's exciting – after all, this is undoubtedly the biggest game release of the decade so far and while we have a few more months before we can actually play it, I'm already thinking about my gaming setup. I want to ensure that I'll make the most of GTA 6 from the first moment to the last.

Indeed, rumours suggest that the console version will have a 60 frames-per-second performance mode, and you are likely to get some in-game ray tracing support (on PS5 / PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X, anyway). So is your TV up to the task of showing it at its best?

If not, Amazon's Prime Day sale is here to help. There are some great TV deals this week in both the UK and US, which could give you the ideal platform to benefit from Rockstar's first new Grand Theft Auto in 13 years.

I've chosen some of my own picks to help you out.

<a data-dimension112="ad071e88-e25d-4ffc-b464-31b41957dc88" data-action="Deal Block" data-label="With a 144Hz refresh rate, the Hisense U7QT Mini LED TV has more than enough headroom to cope with GTA 6's rumoured 60fps mode. Sounds like a car crash, right?

Well, not according to critics, who've heaped acclaim on such a film. Here's when you can watch it.

As iconic and recognisable gaming franchises go, Grand Theft Auto is up there with the best of them. The iconic title is now in its fifth iteration, with users eagerly awaiting the arrival of GTA 6.

The franchise fuses a number of different elements. Players can do everything from wandering around the streets of Los Santos, to breaking into airports and flying the planes.

One thing we hadn't seen in the game was a recreation of a classic Shakespeare play. That is until now.

A duo of producers have have created a film called Grand Theft Hamlet, which sees the classic Shakespeare play brought to life within the game. That all stemmed from the Covid-19 lockdowns.

When theatre actors Sam Crane and Mark Oosterveen found themselves out of work thanks to the restrictions, they decided to stage a full production of Hamlet, within the Grand Theft Auto universe.

If that sounds completely and utterly nonsensical to you, well, join the club. The whole thing sounds rather leftfield, and not at all like a flick which would earn critical acclaim.

However, it has! At the time of writing, 21 reviews on the Rotten Tomatoes website have given Grand Theft Hamlet an awe-inspiring 95% rating. That's higher than a wide range of popular movies.

Critic Alan Ng said, "[Grand Theft Hamlet] could damn well introduce Shakespearean classics to a new generation of virtual gang-bangers, pimps, and hos," while Brian Tallerico said, "We haven’t even scratched the surface of 'Pandemic Stories' that will unfold on screen over the next generation, but you won’t see another one quite like this."

If you're reading those reviews and thinking you absolutely have to see it for yourself, you can! The film will be made available to watch in cinemas across the UK and Ireland from the 6th of December this year.

I'm certainly intrigued by the premise. While I can't say I'm wholeheartedly sold right off the bat, it should make for a nice break from the usual festive flicks around that time.

Netflix Games has been a mini-revelation since its launch a couple of years ago. Offering free mobile games to existing subscribers was always going to go down well, but the quality of titles has steadily risen to make it a much-loved benefit.

Now it's about to enter a new stratosphere.

As well as bringing some award-winning indie games to the platform next year, including Hades, Braid and Death's Door, Netflix has announced that it will offer Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition to iPhone, iPad and Android device owners for free. And even better news is that it's imminent.

The remastered collection will be available on Netflix Games from 15 December 2023 – so in just a couple of weeks.

That means you'll be able to play Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition on your mobile device. You just need a Netflix subscription and the games will be downloadable at no extra cost from the Netflix app, Apple's App Store, or Google Play.

All the titles in the Netflix Games library are available ad-free and with no in-app purchases – you get the entire game to play on your phone or tablet whenever and wherever you like.

Netflix is also investigating ways of expanding the service to Smart TVs, with a possible cloud gaming version currently being trialled. This uses your mobile device as the controller, but you play the game on the bigger screen.

There's no word yet on how successful the trials have been or whether it plans to expand the service to multiple regions soon, but games like the GTA trilogy and Hades will certainly make it something to look out for. Especially if it continues to be an add-on benefit to a Netflix video subscription.

Maybe then Netflix really will be the "Netflix of gaming" we've been talking about for a fair old while.

Amazon UK is celebrating its 25th anniversary and, to celebrate, it has revealed the best-selling games for each year since the retailer first listed them on its site.

Some are obvious, others less so. And reading through the list is like travelling through time.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is that, while they do feature, FIFA and Call of Duty haven't always topped the charts. In fact, Nintendo has somewhat taken over in recent times – repeating its mid-2000s success with titles that just about every Switch owner must have bought.

So, without further ado, here are the top selling video games on Amazon UK since 1999 (when it first started to sell them).

The best-selling games on Amazon UK year-on-year

Let's start at the beginning with something a little obscure...

1999 – X-Tension (X Mission Pack)

Yep, the first big seller for Amazon UK was actually an expansion pack for X - Beyond The Frontier on PC.

The THQ action/strategy title was hugely popular at the time and this expansion added "hundreds of new missions" and plenty more besides. Bet you weren't expecting that.

2000 – Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

The the first big seller of the new millennium was... Who Wants to be a Millionaire? on the PC. Yeah, we're a little underwhelmed too.

The TV show was huge at the time, so it kind-of makes sense. And as it had questions asked by then host Chris Tarrant, it wasn't a bad adaptation, we suppose.

2001 – Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

There have been several Harry Potter-themed games over the years, with this action adventure coming long before Hogwarts Legacy.

Electronic Arts released a few of them, with this one being based on the first movie. The PC version was quite different to others released around the time and actually played okay.

2002 – Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Now, this is more like it. Arguably the best GTA game topped the charts in 2002, with the PlayStation 2 exclusive really setting the stall for the series going forward.

Set in Rockstar's version of Miami and based in the 80s, it was also the first to feature a speaking lead character.

2003 – FIFA Football 2004

And so FIFA enters the fray for the first time.

The release date for Grand Theft Auto 6 has allegedly leaked online, along with a date for the trailer and announcement.

However, while the proposed dates seem sensible and convincing, the source does not.

A "leaked" voice memo has appeared online that is said to feature the CEO of Rockstar's parent company Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick. In it, he discusses the announcement and release windows of the hugely-anticipated follow-up to 2013's GTA V.

If taken as real, the memo reveals that the official announcement of GTA 6 will take place in October this year, with the game hitting stores 12-months later – in October 2024.

That certainly fits with Zelnick's previous corroborated statements that Take-Two is set for a massive fiscal year 25, which runs from April next year to March 2025. So far, so good.

However, the audio clip (which, according to Game Rant, has since been pulled from the web) has been debunked by some fans. They claim that it is a deepfake made using Zelnick's voice and rendered using AI.

The evidence, they say, is that in it he refers to the game as "Grand Theft Auto V [vee] I [eye]". And, while some might call it that when looking at the supposed logo, few human beings would actually use that vernacular – let alone the boss of the company set to release it.

But, even if it is fake, it could be that the game will release in October 2024 anyway. It could have been made by a fan using recent rumours that have been flying around, and that date does make sense for the reasons we've outlined above.

After all, plenty of phone renders tend to appear each year that are based on speculation rather than confirmed fact, yet turn out to be very close to the truth.

Maybe this clip is bang on the money, even if AI-generated. We guess we'll have to wait until this October to find out for sure.

In our own opinion, we expect Rockstar to make some form of announcement on or around 17 September, as that day marks the 10th anniversary of GTA 5, so would be as good a time as any to finally unveil its successor.

If, like me, you played Red Dead Redemption 2 and not the previous game in the series, Red Dead Redemption, then chances are you'll also have been crossing your fingers for a remake. Well, count your lucky spurs, because your wish has been granted - kind of.

Rockstar has confirmed that the Original Red Dead Redemption will be released on August 17th for Nintendo Switch and PS4. That's right, there is no PS5 version (or Xbox version at all). It will be nice to run around the likes of Blackwater on the Nintendo Switch but this has been confirmed to be very much NOT a remaster. The game will perform identically to its 2010 self, with no visual or gameplay changes. It will be available digitally from August 17th with a disc edition launching in October.

It will at least come bundled as part of a $50 combo pack with the spooky Zombie-themed Undead Nightmare DLC that was much loved, although it doesn't look like multiplayer will be included though with Rockstar describing the DLC and base game as "classic, single-player experiences." that's a shame as I feel like it could have been integrated easily into Red Dead Online (which is its own standalone title now) to give it some much needed extra content.

As someone who loves Red Dead Redemption 2 I can't help but be slightly underwhelmed at this announcement. A true remake for the PS5 and Xbox Series X would have been dynamite, but it does at least leave the Rockstar team free to keep working on GTA VI and judging by GTA V, it's likely to be a massive game.

If you've played Red Dead Redemption 2 first and are worried you've already ruined the story for yourself, you'll be pleased to know that isn't true. The 2010 game is actually set after RDR2 so in fact, it could actually be the best way to experience things (a bit like Barbenheimer).

Of course, whatever form it arrives in, Red Dead Redemption is widely considered to be a must-play.

Word going around is that there's an old gunslinger riding his way back to town. That's right we could be getting a remastered version of Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar's original western was released way back in 2010 to a stellar reception, but it was the sequel Red Dead Redemption 2 that changed gaming forever and that remains one of the best titles playable today.

Despite working on GTA 6, rumours suggest that the first game, which RDR2 was a prequel to, is being remade by Rockstar. First spotted by Gematsu, the Korean listings board has recently registered a game titled Red Dead Redemption. The original game was registered at the time of release, so speculation suggests either this new listing (which went up on June 15th) is a remake or a reboot (which seems unlikely). To be honest I'm all in for a remake.

It was only with the second game that I started playing, and frankly, I was almost blown out of my britches. The sheer scale of the world was matched only by how organically it seemed to move, even without the player's interaction, and it remains arguably the most immersive game ever (outside of VR of course) with clothes getting muddy, facial hair growing and pretty much no loading screens. If the original can get the same treatment with a graphical upgrade then I would be one happy cowpoke.

Especially given the power of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, as well as the best gaming laptops Rockstar, who don't do things by halves, could feasibly create the most beautiful game of all time. All I ask is to please let me transfer my horse (Clipclop, a very good boy) from RDR2 into the remake, after all this is a continuation of the first game's story.

While there have been some great games released in 2023, this would definitely go straight into my PS5 and scratch my open-world itch. Perhaps even arriving with an improved version of Red Dead Online. Hopefully, it will also come with the spooky Undead Nightmare DLC that turned the whole world into a zombie apocalypse. If zombie cowboys don't get you excited, then I'm afraid nothing will.

Where the hell is GTA 6? That's a question that might be rattling around in your head considering it was confirmed in February 2022 with an official comment from Rockstar that development was "well underway".

And, apart from a major leak in September of the same year, we've heard nary a thing about it since. Not from the horse's mouth anyway.

Events like Summer Game Fest and the Future Games Show Summer Showcase have come and gone and there's been not a peep from the stars of Rock.

That's why we've put together this handy guide on Grand Theft Auto VI, based on the leaks and rumours, to keep your appetites well and truly whetted for when an announcement does eventually come. After all, Grand Theft Auto V came out a decade ago and while GTA Online continues to be fun, a bone fide new game is long overdue.

GTA 6: what's happened so far?

Although we don't know when it'll arrive, Rockstar has officially stated that GTA 6 exists. It made the announcement in a blog post on 4th February, 2022:

"With the unprecedented longevity of GTA V, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series," it wrote.

"With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered - and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway. We look forward to sharing more as soon as we are ready, so please stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official details. On behalf of our entire team, we thank you all for your support and cannot wait to step into the future with you!"

In July 2022, it was then further confirmed (via another blog post) that development on Red Dead Redemption II was coming to an end and resources were being directed more towards GTA 6. Rockstar also noted how it understands "more than ever the need to exceed players’ expectations and for this next entry to be the best it can possibly be".

Later the same month, a Bloomberg report claimed that GTA 6 - codenamed Project Americas - will feature a female lead protagonist for the first time in its history. This juicy bit of news stated that the woman (who will be of Latino heritage) will be one of two leading characters in a story that takes influence from the famous US bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde.

Finally, a major Rockstar leak in September 2022 suggested that the report was correct - one male and one female protagonist were highlighted as being playable. Furthermore, the city looks to be taking inspiration from Miami so rumours that it will be set in Vice City - at least for part of the game - look likely.

GTA 6: release date

While we don't know an actual release date for GTA 6 - it's not even been unveiled yet - we can look at Rockstar's history to give us an indication of when the game could be released.

Breaking it down to the core Grand Theft Auto games, we can see a distinct pattern for release dates later in the year, most commonly October. The anomaly here is GTA IV, however. GTA: Vice City Stories, Bully, Manhunt 2, and Red Dead Redemption 2 all released during this month too.

It's also worth noting that Rockstar released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on 11th November 2021. Everything from character animations, location, combat, voice work and more were shown off for all to see - until Rockstar managed to purge most of them and even have the original hacker arrested.

The information revealed seemingly confirmed other reports that the game will star two lead characters, one male and one female. You always have to be willing to bring consumers what they want. The minute you try to protect the past, you become irrelevant," said Zelnick in an interview with Gamesindustry.biz.

"I'm thrilled Rockstar's working on the next iteration of Grand Theft Auto. Following the launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, players quickly discovered an unidentified house as part of a hanging photo on the wall of the Lil’ Probe’Inn in San Andreas. The house in question is not thought to be part of any current GTA games, according to the sleuths over on the GTAForums, fuelling speculation that this is the first image from GTA 6.

On top of this, to add more fuel to the fire, this photo is part of the "I Want to Believe" wall in Lil’ Probe’Inn, a bar dedicated to UFOs. It was also noted (via Kotaku) that an update to a billboard in the GTA III remaster has changed the words from "See you in Miami" to "See you soon".

It's a great theory as Rockstar, which does have precedence for this, could have been teasing its next entry - especially as many believe it will be set in Vice City (Rockstar's version of Miami).

Another #GTATrilogy mystery hunt.
Rumours of Sony potentially giving the PS5 a glow-up have been around for a while now, but there has been silence from official sources when it comes to a possible PS5 Pro.

Strauss Zaunick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive — who publish the Grand Theft Auto series has however spoken on the topic of the PS5 Pro in an earnings call. Asked by GamesIndustry.biz about whether we will see a boosted PS5 and even a revamped Xbox Series X, he replied: “We probably will.” He was however less than convinced by their impact on the Games Industry as a whole claiming, he doesn’t think they’ll “affect the business very much”.

First of all, hurry up and make GTA 6 already, please! But it’s interesting to hear an industry insider claim that improved consoles wouldn’t be a game changer. Is that because they won’t be dramatic upgrades or have we reached a point of diminishing returns with current consumer gaming tech perhaps? It would be interesting to know exactly what platforms Rockstar is developing GTA 6 for.

As for when we could get our hands on GTA 6, a new report from Take-Two has revealed it is planning for a very lucrative financial year 2024-2025. Take-Two is aiming for “$8 billion in Net Bookings and over $1 billion in Adjusted Unrestricted Operating Cash Flow,” in the current financial year Take-Two is aiming for $5.3 billion so that $3 billion jump will have to come from something new. Surely such a big headline figure will need a major software release, not just the continuation of GTA Online so perhaps GTA 6 will come in 2024, we do know it is in active development.

As for the PS5 Pro, there have been plenty of rumours about the machine and even a so-called PS5 Slim with a detachable disk drive.

Last week, at Google I/O, the brand unveiled the next update for Google Maps. That showed off a new feature called Immersive View for Routes, which looks set to revolutionise the way we travel.

But that's not all. In their accompanying blog post, Google announced that the underlying API and 3D imaging is being made available to other developers.

That means that similar functionality could be coming to other apps and use-cases in the near future. I think that's a really exciting prospect. Here are three reasons why.

1. Immersive View for Routes

It would be easy to brush straight past this, but lets give some credit to Google here. The app at the centre of this innovation, Immersive View for Routes is going to completely change the way we get from A-to-B.

In a move that will resonate with any users who's ever followed the quickest route, only to find themselves wandering through a sketchy alleyway, Immersive View gives you a 3D preview of the route on offer. That's brilliant, especially for travelling to places you might be less familiar with. Users can check out their journey to make sure it's a safe route, and memorise landmarks and points of interest to make sure they're on the right path.

That's before we even get into the live traffic and weather updates, complete with their own graphics on screen. Those allow you to check things like air quality, and determine the best time to travel.

2. Renting property

As someone who has moved house more times than I can count, I feel well placed to say this technology could change the way we rent forever. Having moved to a new city pretty much every time, it can be really challenging to know where is good to move and where is safe.

US rental website, Rent.com, are already putting this technology to work in this setting. Using Google's API, they are able to offer an aerial view of a property in the surrounding neighbourhood, letting applicants make better decisions about where they choose to live.

3. Game maps

This one is a little more out there, but stay with me here. Google are letting their API and aerial imaging out to other developers. They show this being used to give detailed aerial views of cities, landmarks and national parks, to develop an interactive tour.

But what if those same base renders could be used to map out in-game locations? Large city frameworks could become much easier to build, and much more true-to-life.

Instead of playing Grand Theft Auto in Los Santos, users could find themselves driving through Los Angeles. Call of Duty maps based off real locations could add huge amounts of added detail and realism. It has the potential to create a seismic shift in these large map games.

Following rumours of a GTA 6 collaboration between Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and Rockstar Games, it's now believed that the rapper is working on a new original TV series known as Vice City at Paramount Plus.

That's according to a report by Deadline, which claims that Jackson's G-Unit Film & Television company is helming the original series alongside Lionsgate Television and Paramount itself. The project is not expected to have any connection to the world of Grand Theft Auto, hence why Vice City is a working title at this moment in time.

Set in the mid-80s, Vice City will tell the tale of three former soldiers and friends who return home to Miami after being dishonourably discharged from the military due to their involvement in the Iran Contra Scandal. Darnell Metayer and Josh Peters (known for their work on Transformers: Rise of the Beasts) will act as writers and executive producers. John Wick director Chad Stahelski is expected to direct.

"Disgraced, displaced, and forgotten by the country they served and with no good job prospects, the three friends partner with a mysterious Colombian immigrant, uniting their financial needs and criminal ambitions to form a heist crew," reads a description of the show from Deadline. "Fueled by the need for American green, they traverse a violent and dangerous path in pursuit of the American Dream."

The Deadline report follows a mysterious GTA Vice City image posted by Jackson to his social media accounts earlier this month, with the caption "I will explain this later". This lead many to believe that a GTA 6 collaboration with Rockstar and the rapper was in the works due to the fact that GTA 6 is all but confirmed to be set in a Miami-like setting, similar to Vice City.

After years of silence, GTA 6 was finally confirmed to be in "active development" by Rockstar in February 2022. A huge leak of around 90 videos then spread to the web in September of that year, which the developer subsequently confirmed were real.

To keep up with all the latest Grand Theft Auto details, head to the T3's GTA 6 hub for the latest news, rumours, leaks and everything else.
Rockstar is known for some of the biggest high-profile collaborations in the video game industry, either by getting top names to lend their music to the Grand Theft Auto series or by convincing triple-A actors to actually appear. Think Samuel L. Jackson in GTA San Andreas, Michael Madsen in GTA III, or Ricky Gervais in GTA IV. The latest collaboration might be coming from US rapper, 50 Cent.

Taking to his social media on March 1st, 2023, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson decided to set the internet alight by sending out an image of GTA: Vice City (via Instagram) with the caption "I will explain this later". Immediately, fans were sent into wild speculation regarding what it all meant before the rapper once again sent out the same image and message via Twitter one day later, which restarted the conversation all over again.

So why GTA 6? Well, aside from 50 Cent randomly sending out an image of one of the past games, it's been reported that GTA 6 will take place in a fictionalised version of Miami – just like GTA Vice City. The theory was further given evidence when footage from GTA 6 leaked to the web last year. This was subsequently confirmed as real by developer Rockstar.

See below for one of the social media posts made by Jackson.

A post shared by 50 Cent (@50cent)

A photo posted by on

"I will explain this later. GreenLight Gand this s**t bigger than power trust me. BOOM," wrote Jackson. The term green light has been used by gang members to note when a hit is out on them. How this relates to GTA 6 and/or whether this is just the rapper teasing his followers is yet to be determined.

This wouldn't be the first time Rockstar has put a high-profile rapper in the GTA series. Only last year did Rockstar partner with rapper Dr. Dre for his own campaign in Grand Theft Auto Online – known as The Contract – with a new EP of music released in-game as well.
For gamers who play GTA 5 on PS5, Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, then Xmas has just come early, with Rockstar delivering an awesome free Christmas gift.

That Christmas gift comes in the form of GTA 5 getting a huge in-game update that brings with it, among many other things, ray-tracing, the super-hot new graphical tech that makes games look far prettier and more realistic.

The news of the ray-tracing graphical upgrade comes courtesy of Rockstar itself, who has just released update patch 1.64 for GTA 5 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. In the patch notes, Rockstar confirms that:

"Ray-traced reflections have been added to Fidelity Mode for both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, adding detail and contrast to the game world. This allows for vehicles, characters, and more details to be shown on reflective and glossy surfaces"

As such, providing PS5 and Xbox gamers download this new patch and run GTA 5 in its Fidelity Mode, then they've just got access to significantly improved in-game graphics, with enhanced detail, contrast, lighting and reflections.

Other new features included in the 1.64 update include new vehicles, clothing, accessories, hairstyles and tattoos, too, as well as a host of other GTA Online improvements.

The T3 take: An essential free upgrade to grab now

As GTA 6 is clearly still a long way from launching, Rockstar's continued commitment to improving GTA 5 is really, really welcome.

GTA 5 was originally launched all the way back in 2013, and while PC gamers have continued to mod the game and improve its graphics and performance since, console gamers have had but a few graphical upgrades provided via re-releases by Rockstar. As such, almost a decade after launch, the game definitely was showing its graphical age.

So the introduction of ray tracing into GTA 5 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will really help give it a new lick of paint and, at least on a surface level, make the virtual city of Los Santos and its surrounding environs feel more modern. It will also no doubt be a big boon to players who like to take screenshots in-game, as each one is now going to boast much better detail and lighting.

It'll also likely give gamers their best idea yet of what GTA 6 will look like graphically when it comes out, as the game is almost certainly going to make use of ray tracing, as well as other next-gen graphical effects.

Still need a next-gen console? Well, the Xbox Series S is now retailing at a discounted price point for Christmas.

There are two kinds of people in the world. There are people that read an article about GTA 6 and think "ooh, that's interesting, and probably quite good". And there are the people that read the same article and immediately go online to complain about GTA "going woke" and, inevitably, "going broke" as a result. And over the last few days, the internet has been full of the second kind, with the odd US right-wing political candidate joining in too.

According to the article published by Bloomberg a few days ago, GTA developer Rockstar Games has tried to clean up its corporate culture a little bit. That means it decided not to go ahead with the GTA Online Cops'n'Crooks mode in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd, one of many Black men killed by police officers; it removed some childish, transphobic jokes from GTA 5; and it does not want to punch down on marginalised groups in GTA 6.

As if that wasn't enough to enrage the online anti-woke warriors, GTA 6 will also feature a playable protagonist who isn't a white guy. The hero (or anti-hero) this time will be a Latina woman.

You can imagine the response. To which I'd say: have any of these outraged people actually played a GTA game?

GTA is a horrible place, and that's why we love it

The idea that GTA is going "woke" is laughable: GTA? The game that started with the criminals as the heroes and became ever more amoral and violent as it progressed? The whole point of GTA is to satirise and skewer the American Dream, to say that the world is so broken and awful that the only way to rise to the top is to be the baddest, most brutal, most ruthless human possible. Just because Rockstar isn't going to punch down on marginalised groups doesn't mean that GTA 6 is going to be nice. It's still GTA, with all that entails.

I need to declare a dog in this fight: I'm a trans woman, and I've been repelled by the transphobia and misogyny in previous GTA games: it's not necessary, it's not funny if you're older than nine, and it makes me feel unwelcome in a game that I know I'd like otherwise. Transphobia – or racism, or homophobia, or any other bigotry – in a game feels like a punch in the gut when you're the one being picked on for a cheap laugh. Not having it in the game won't spoil your experience at all, but it means lame frat-boy humour won't spoil mine.

And as for going broke, that's laughable too. GTA 6 will sell billions of copies, and if a few people decide that they won't buy it because it isn't sufficiently racist or sexist, then they won't even be a blip in the sales figures. And like the people who boycotted Horizon Forbidden West because it featured – gasp! – a female protagonist, they're the ones missing out. GTA 6 will be awful, disgusting, abhorrent and terrible in so many ways. It's going to be great.

Grand Theft Auto V has now launched on PlayStation 5 with Sony offering one hell of a deal for anyone considering returning to Los Santos.

Nearly a decade after it was originally released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Rockstar has once again re-launched the GTA game that will never die – over 160 million copies sold and counting – across next-gen consoles. At least we know GTA 6 is real. To celebrate the launch of GTA V, the developer has teamed up with Sony for an exclusive offering that I found even too good to pass up on.

The deal in question gets you the full GTA V single player and GTA Online package for less than $10 / £10. Specifically, the GTA V story mode is available for $9.99 / £8.75 while the online portion can be redeemed for free on the PlayStation Store until June 14th. After this, the price for both will be raised to $39.99 / £34.99 and $19.99 / £17.99, respectively.

While there is certainly a case to be made for Rockstar to offer free-next-gen upgrades for consumers, it's still a pretty good deal regardless to gain access to all the new upgrades. The loading improvement alone is worth the price of admission. As someone that hasn't played GTA V since it originally launched in 2013, this felt a more than reasonable price to jump to console generations ahead to play the game.

Additional upgrades that are exclusive to the next-gen versions of GTA V include: 4K resolution (courtesy of a new graphics mode), up to 60 frames per second, texture and draw distance enhancements, HDR options and ray-tracing, advance haptic feedback, and more. This was all confirmed in a blog post from Rockstar.

To get this great deal, simply head to PlayStation Store, search for GTA V and make the purchase. Similarly, GTA Online can be found here for free. Remember you only have until June 14th, 2022 to claim this deal.

The next-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V is available across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S. The game is also available across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows.

To keep up with all the latest news and rumours, check out T3's GTA 6 hub for the latest information – including why October is the most likely month for the next GTA announcement.

A new rumour is doing the rounds online concerning the development of Grand Theft Auto 6 – and it's not good news. No, GTA 6 is supposedly in big trouble behind the scenes with a credible leaker now coming forward with some major details.

While GTA 6 has yet to be announced officially by Rockstar in any shape or form yet, it's pretty well known that the game is in the works. The last entry in the GTA catalogue, Grand Theft Auto V, launched in 2013 and the last major release from the studio was 2018's Red Dead Redemption 2, so there's little doubt that its next project is underway.

That said, it doesn't sound like GTA 6 will be arriving anytime soon, as it's now been claimed that the game is going through development hell. Namely, production has been described as "chaotic" and any release date in the next six months should be treated as concerning, if one transpires. Now normally there are thousands of supposed 'leaks' about GTA 6 that pop up on a weekly basis, so why are we taking this one more seriously? Well, this one comes directly from Star Wars Eclipse leaker AccNGT (via Twitter).

About #GTAVI #GTA6- Some people don't realize how chaotic the development is.- I really think there will be disappointment for many people for some aspects (ofc not the graphic side).- If the game is announced this year / early 2022, we can really be worried.December 11, 2021

Ahead of The Game Awards 2021 – where new Sonic and Wonder Women games were shown off – the Twitter account leaked an image and provided details about Quantic Dream's upcoming Star Wars video game. This was all proven true, once revealed for the very first time during the awards.

Of course, these sorts of things should always be taken with a grain of salt, however, it has more credibility to it than a lot of others out there. It's also gained some huge traction across the GamingLeaksandRumours Reddit group, amassing more than two and half thousand upvotes (at the time of writing).

This isn't the first time we've heard of GTA 6 suffering from a troubled development, either. Only in October this year did Chris Klippel from French publication Rockstar Mag speak on big issues to do with the project.

Rockstar's next release will be the launch of GTA V on PlayStation 5 in March 2022.
Update: I regret my decision.

In all seriousness, if you've read anything over the past few days, you'll be well aware that the GTA Trilogy port from Rockstar has been anything but satisfactory.

I've played a good few hours of GTA III on Switch and while I've had no major issues, there's still a lot to be desired. With that, let me take this opportunity to recommend some better ports for the system: Dark Souls, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Alien: Isolation, Rocket League, Doom, Skyrim, BioShock Trilogy, Ori and the Blind Forest and Cuphead.

Original Story: Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition has launched digitally across most major gaming platforms today, meaning a new generation of players will get to experience arguably three of the most important video games to ever exist. It's something I've been waiting to replay for a number of years, and for some reason, I'm going to play them on Nintendo Switch.

Let me start by giving you some of my background with GTA as a series. Naturally, I've played the likes of GTA V and even slugged my way through GTA IV ("Niko, let's go bowling") but a number of the earlier titles evaded me. I was a Nintendo kid growing up. The likes of GTA didn't appeal to me until well into my adolescent years. Interestingly enough, San Andreas ended up becoming the first 'Adult Only' (18) game I owned.

From there, I spent hundreds of hours messing around in the sandbox world, entering in cheat code after cheat code to spawn RPGs and tanks. Knowing those cheats off by heart was a badge of honour. On the other hand, I've spent very little time with Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, outside of brief play sessions at friends' houses. In some ways, I'm going in completely fresh to these two, which is incredibly exciting.

So why Nintendo Switch? Well, while a number of ports to Switch have been less successful than other platforms (Apex Legends, WWE 2K18, Pillars of Eternity etcetera.), I'm confident Rockstar will do the system justice. Already, it's been confirmed that the Switch will receive additional features over its competitors in the form of motion controls and touch screen capabilities.

The pleasure of having these games to play in handheld is just too appealing of an option too (even if I may begrudge not going for PlayStation for the trophies). There's also something alluring about playing GTA on a Nintendo machine, like two opposing forces on the opposite sides of the industry coming together. Rockstar has always been the 'bad boy' of the games industry, while Nintendo has always maintained its 'kid-friendly' approach.

Here we go again #GTATrilogy pic.twitter.com/TaWiITbJ3gNovember 11, 2021

For that reason, neither play ball often. So when they do, it's nice to take advantage. Strong sales on Switch could make Rockstar consider more ports in the future too? GTA V? Red Dead Redemption. Who knows! Maybe a new GTA game for the system à la Chinatown Wars. A man can dream.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is available to play digitally across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5. PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows from today. It will receive a physical release on December 7th, before being released on iOS and Android in the first half of 2022.

Rumours on the future of Grand Theft Auto and GTA 6, in particular, have been popping up all over the place in recent months – and yet, nobody could have predicted where the latest bit of news would come from. Snoop Dogg (yes, that Snoop Dogg) has confirmed that his frequent collaborator Dr. Dre is now working with Rockstar Games on music for a new GTA game.

As reported by Rolling Stone, the Compton-born rapper has been working on a new album under the name Detox, the first since his last release in 2015. However, it seems Dre has had enough time to make some music for a new GTA project. Snoop Dogg is set to feature as well. It's really interesting as this potentially is one of the most conclusive pieces of evidence we've heard in quite some time that the next GTA is on the way.

While it's not 100% clear whether Dre and Snoop are working on new material for GTA 6, it's fair to assume that if the former is making brand new music, it would likely be for something as big as GTA 6. There is the off chance that it could be for GTA Online or the PS5 version of GTA 5... but why would the rappers be interested? Unless, it was for the next big thing.

GTA 6 new feature wish list shows Rockstar how to make a 10/10 game

PS5 restock: Sony just saved Christmas with "phenomenal" console restock planned

PS5 restock: where to grab a PlayStation 5 console this week and avoid the Black Friday chaos

Rockstar's next project will arrive in the form of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, which is set to roll out across console and PC digitally on November 11th, 2021.

"I do know he’s making great f*cking music," Snoop told the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast, when speaking on what Dre is working on at the minute. "And some of his music is connected to the GTA game that’s coming out. So I think that that will be the way that his music will be released, through the GTA video game."

The full episode will air on October 29th SiriusXM’s Volume channel (106) in the US, before coming to podcast platforms on November 3rd. T3 has reached out to Rockstar Games for comment, however, were unavailable for a response before publication.

This wouldn't be the first Dre. Dre has appeared in the GTA universe. A number of the rapper's music tracks appeared in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas back in 2004, including Deep Cover (featuring Snoop Dogg), Nuthin' But A "G" Thang, and F**k wit Dre Day (And Everybody's Celebratin').

To keep with all of the latest news, rumours and potential leaks, head on over to T3's official GTA 6 hub.

As part of Facebook’s big metaverse presentation, CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that the Rockstar classic game, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is in development for the Oculus Quest 2. This, Zukerberg says, “this new version of what I think is one of the greatest games ever made, will offer players an entirely new way to experience this entirely open world in virtual reality.”

It seems the team at Facebook have been working for years to bring the game to Quest. GTA San Andreas was first launched in 2004 for PlayStation 2 as the fifth Grand Theft Auto title. However, a new enhanced version with full 4K resolution is coming to consoles next month as part of the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. It’s this enhanced version that will hopefully form the basis of the VR game.

San Andreas is based across multiple cities, giving a huge world to explore, though even the enhanced version doesn’t offer the graphical realness of the most recent GTA 5. My guess is that there’s a lot of work to bring the title to VR, and so picking an older title could be slightly easier. If it’s successful though, I wouldn’t rule out GTA 6 coming to VR as well.

GTA 6 clue hints at excitingly soon reveal date

GTA 6 release date, news, trailer, map, leaks, rumours, and everything else

The full 80-minute Connect 2021 presentation, which can be watched back on Facebook now. It also outlined other games coming to the Quest 2, such as Blade and Sorcery Nomad, special events in Population One and new music packs coming to Beat Saber.

Facebook Messenger, complete with audio calls will be made available for Oculus Quest 2 natively and the Oculus Store will gain a range of new 2D apps, including Slack.

GTA 6 new feature wish list shows Rockstar how to make a 10/10 game

Update: Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is expected to launch in December this year, according to a new report.

Expecting to launch both physically and digitally across five platforms (before coming to mobile), the new collection is said to be arriving on December 7th, 2021. This information comes from Polish outlet PPE, which further claims that only last-gen consoles will receive physical releases before Christmas. This includes PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.

Those on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will then have to wait until 2022 to get their hands on a physical copy. A digital release could still happen earlier – something games journalist Tom Henderson previously claimed. More should be revealed in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

Original story: GTA 6 was once again trending over the weekend as Rockstar finally confirmed the existence of the GTA Remastered Trilogy – officially known as Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition.

Naturally, as a result of the first release in almost two years (three if you don't count Red Dead Online separately from Red Dead Redemption 2), speculation is wild once again that Rockstar is preparing an announcement for the next GTA instalment. This has only been intensified ever more by a very prominent rumour that points to a release date, map size and announcement before the end of the year.

In the meantime though, we do at the very least have this new remaster to look forward to with more information set to be revealed in the "coming weeks" according to the studio. Additionally, all three games will feature "graphical improvements" and "modern gameplay enhancements". The teaser trailer can be watched below:

GTA 6 release date, news, trailer, map, leaks, rumours, and everything else

Cryptic GTA 6 clue hints at reveal date that is excitingly soon

Harley Quinn-led Suicide Squad game is more Batman: Arkham – and I can't wait

"Later this month marks a very special anniversary for Rockstar Games: 20 years since the original release of Grand Theft Auto III – the game that set players loose in the sprawling, three-dimensional metropolis of Liberty City with a new and unprecedented sense of freedom and immersion, " reads the announcement.

Grand Theft Auto III originally launched on October 22nd, 2001 and is estimated to have sold over 14.5 million copies. Obviously, with GTA V sales exceeding 150 million units (and counting), Rockstar will be wanting to raise those numbers exponentially.

GTA 6 trending across social media has become more of a regular occurrence as of late. Naturally, excitement is high but the lack of news on the next entry in GTA is disappointing for fans that have been waiting for the long-awaiting follow up since 2013.

Personally, it does feel like Rockstar is building to something and rumours are ramping up. We still have GTA V's release on PS5 next year, so likely Rockstar will wait a good while to cash in on sales from that before announcing the next iteration. That said, a teaser trailer in late 2022 doesn't sound out of the realms of possibility for me.

Fan reaction to GTA 6 trending brings with it a wide variety of reactions; some hilarious, some crushing due to the reality that we might still be years away from release. As evidence continues to mount on what is now quite a regular basis, it does feel like we won't be waiting that long before an official announcement is made.

#GTATrilogy icons have also been discovered within the Launcher - with shiny gold outlines!Credit to @bs_blackscout https://t.co/b9F4oqMIKH https://t.co/FV5bfAutgo pic.twitter.com/StBfo4UhxHOctober 5, 2021

Original Story: Sound the GTA klaxon! More news has broken surrounding the heavily reported GTA Remastered Trilogy, and this could have big implications for the announcement and subsequent release of GTA 6. First, let's start with the new remasters (not yet officially announced), which will consist of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

The good news is that the collection has now been given an age rating by the Game Rating and Administration Committee database in Korea, meaning a reveal is surely not that far away. The remastered trilogy is being developed by Scottish studio Rockstar Dundee and has been listed in the new database as "Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition".

This information comes from Nibel (via Twitter) as well as an updated report from Kotaku, the outlet that originally confirmed the existence of the GTA collection. It's expected to launch before the end of this year on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. A PC and mobile port will then supposedly follow in 2022.

GTA 6 new feature wish list shows Rockstar how to make a 10/10 game

GTA 6 release date, news, trailer, map, leaks, rumours, and everything else

Sony, please make an Iron Man VR sequel for PS5 and PSVR 2
Marvel says Spider-Man 2 on PS5 is "darker" and teases Hulk appearance in Wolverine

Grant Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition has been rated in Koreahttps://t.co/XL9AAhOC0E pic.twitter.com/af4rk2EfoPSeptember 30, 2021

We now move on to the latest rumour surrounding GTA 6. According to social media news channel ThatsSoBold, the first official trailer for GTA 6 will drop in November or December this year, following on from the remastered trilogy. The most interesting tidbits from this source (that has no prior history regarding GTA) say that the new game will be set in Miami and will have a map three times bigger than GTA V. That's pretty massive if true, both in the literal and figurative sense.

It will also feature hurricanes and alligators. This map will then changed over the course of time with updates, taking inspiration from how Epic Games has handled Fortnite. Of course, best to take all of this with a grain of salt but surely we must be due some concrete news about GTA 6 soon. Rockstar last released GTA 5 in 2013 and then released Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018. Something must be in the pipeline.
