It's not every day that Lidl drops an entire collection of Le Creuset dupes, but that's exactly what's happening tomorrow – and it's looking like it could be one of the retailer's most exciting kitchen launches of the year.

Sticking to the classic Le Creuset-inspired colours of red, orange and black, Lidl has a whole selection of casserole dishes, cast iron pans, griddle pans and, of course, the classic salt and pepper mills and mugs. Lidl Plus members can also get 10% off most of the items, making these already-cheap buys even more tempting.

I've listed all the products below, and they'll be landing in Lidl's middle aisle from tomorrow. However, if there's something in particular you're after, I'd recommend checking the stock checker before heading to your local store.

I’ve gone through many different vacuum cleaners over the years, and I still have yet to find my perfect model. But the vacuum brand that I consistently go back to is Shark.

I’ve had many Shark vacuums over the years, including upright, stick and handheld models, and the Shark PowerDetect Transformer is a combination of all three in one device. This latest vacuum from Shark is designed to clean all floor types, be easy to maneuver from floor to floor, and get underneath furniture and into corners.

While it’ll take a lot for me to go back to a corded, upright vacuum cleaner, the Shark PowerDetect Transformer may have changed my mind. I spent three weeks testing it, and this is how I got on.

Shark PowerDetect Transformer review: unboxing and setup

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer arrived in a large cardboard box, disassembled and wrapped in paper bags and sticky packaging. Putting it together was extremely easy and took just a few minutes. An instructional manual was in the box but the entire process was very self-explanatory so it wasn’t all that needed.

First, I inserted the anti-odour box into the main brush head which consisted of me lining up the arrows and clicking and locking it into place. From there, I clicked the main stick pole into the brush head, and slid the large bin onto the front, before attaching the handle.

As a corded vacuum cleaner, the Shark PowerDetect Transformer has a long eight metre power cord. It came with a duster crevice tool, stair tool, HairPro Pet Power Brush and an Anti-Allergen Dusting Brush which clips onto the handheld part of the machine.

Shark PowerDetect Transformer review: design and features

When fully assembled in its upright position, the Shark PowerDetect Transformer measures 117.2cm in height, 28.5cm in depth and 30.6cm in width. It weighs 8kg with the main 1.3-litre bin attached which I found to be extremely heavy. It felt significantly lighter when in stick mode.

As a 3-in-1 device, the Shark PowerDetect Transformer offers upright, stick and handheld cleaning. To convert it from upright to stick, simply unclip the main bin, and then the vacuum can fold down to clean underneath furniture. For handheld, remove the main wand, and attach accessories for cleaning your car, the stairs, and hard-to-reach spots.

Each ‘mode’ is designed for different cleaning tasks. As an upright vacuum, the Shark PowerDetect Transformer is best for cleaning carpets as it has a stronger suction, while stick is easier to carry and get into difficult areas. Handheld is even better at that, and is good for smaller, more controlled cleaning tasks, like getting into the crevices of your car seats.

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer has an intelligent brush head with Anti-Hair Wrap technology to avoid tangles, and an LED light to illuminate dirt. The controls for the Shark PowerDetect Transformer are on the handle, including on/off and floor type, but the vacuum responds to floors itself with its detection technologies.

Shark has given the PowerDetect Transformer four different detection technologies, including direction, floor, edge and dirt. Direction senses how you’re moving the vacuum and will change its suction to forward or backward, while floor detects the floor type and adjusts its power. Edge senses corners, and dirt boosts power when it recognises different types and levels of dirt.

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer actually has two bins – the main large bin at the front and a smaller bin at the top, just underneath the handle. The main bin collects dirt while in upright mode, but when you take it off for stick or handheld, the smaller bin collects debris.

To empty the smaller bin, keep the Shark PowerDetect Transformer on and clip the main bin back onto the vacuum. The bin will then automatically empty into the main bin so you don’t have to empty two bins. It also has HEPA filtration and anti-allergen seal technology to trap dirt, allergens and dust, and prevent odours.

Shark PowerDetect Transformer review: performance

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer hasn’t been out for very long, but I think it’s one of Shark’s most intelligent designs. It offers three cleaning types in one, and does it with a quick and simple assembly system. Clipping the main bin on and off was simple, mess-free and took no time at all.

The controls at the top of the Shark PowerDetect Transformer were easy to use, although with its detection technologies, I rarely needed to use them. The vacuum and brush head immediately recognised different levels of dust and dirt, and I could hear it boost its power when it noticed these things which I really appreciated.

While cleaning, I found the Shark PowerDetect Transformer to work expertly on both hardwood and carpets. The LED light at the front was very bright – I’d go as far to say you could clean with the lights off and still see what you were doing! Its suction power was incredibly impressive, and it sucked up dirt quickly and effectively on single passes.

One area I found the Shark PowerDetect Transformer struggled with was dust. I noticed that it often just pushed dust around rather than hoovering it up, so it took several passes before it got everything. However, the vacuum got into corners and edges nicely.

The handheld mode was good, and its attachments were well made. It cleaned my stairs extremely well, although I found it hard to remove the accessories at times. The stick vacuum was helpful, especially to get low to the floor, and to carry the vacuum up and down my stairs. The length of the cord is generous, so while cordless is preferred, I didn’t find it to be limiting.

My main issue with the Shark PowerDetect Transformer is its weight. As an upright model, it’s extremely heavy and I felt like I really had to push it around, especially on carpet. It was slightly easier to maneuver on hardwood, but some people will struggle with it – it felt like I was doing an arm workout! It’s not the quietest, either.

Shark PowerDetect Transformer review: verdict

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer is undeniably a very clever and useful 3-in-1 vacuum cleaner. Having three cleaning options in one device makes cleaning your entire house – carpet, hardwood, stairs, furniture, car, and any other nooks and crannies – an absolute doddle.

The bin of the Shark PowerDetect Transformer was my favourite part. Having two separate bins meant you could transform the vacuum into different modes, while only having to empty one bin, and it kept everything hygienic and allergen-free. Stick mode was definitely my favourite as it took some serious weight off, and got into tricky areas and under furniture.

Its weight is the main issue for me, but the good thing is you can choose to use the Shark PowerDetect Transformer just as a stick and handheld, and only make it upright to empty the bin. Its noise will be loved by parents who vacuum to wake you up, but in general, it is quite loud when in use and when emptying. Its dust pick-up could be better, too.

Overall, though, I enjoyed using the Shark PowerDetect Transformer, and it’s become my ‘upstairs’ vacuum, as it expertly cleans both my carpet and hardwood on those floors.

Shark PowerDetect Transformer review: alternatives to consider

If upright is your bag, the Hoover H-Upright 300 Pets is a great corded vacuum cleaner that’s extremely lightweight. There’s plenty of cable to go around, and it expertly cleans up pet and human hair, as well as other dirt and debris.

Another upright model – but this one is cordless – is the Gtech AirRAM Platinum. It’s extremely slim, and offers an excellent performance across all floor types. Its LED headlights are like Shark’s, and it also has a clever bin-emptying system.

Finally, if you’re a Shark fan but want an upright cordless model, the Shark FreeStyle Pro is light, easy to carry and despite its clunky bin, it turns corners well and gets into tricky spaces.

IFA 2026 may have taken place a week ago, but new product releases just keep coming! Haier announced a huge range of large and small appliances at the event, including a three model vacuum cleaner line-up, but it’s the brand’s newest oven that has got me excited.

Despite the rise of air fryers, ovens are having a resurgence, mainly due to the introduction of AI. I’ll be honest, I think it’s slightly ridiculous to have AI in appliances as it’s not always necessary or really saving you time, but Haier’s new ID Ultimate Series 6 Oven could potentially change my mind.

The new Haier ID Series 6 range are built-in large appliances, including an oven, induction hob and extractor hood. Designed to enhance your food preparation and cooking experience, the collection can be bought together as a whole kitchen solution or separately.

The Haier ID Ultimate Series 6 Oven immediately caught my attention when it was introduced at IFA. With its sleek, minimalist design, the Haier ID Ultimate Series 6 Oven has a PartLight light bar at the front which flashes blue to show you the status of your oven, and its cooking progress.

Inside the Haier ID Ultimate Series 6 Oven is its AI Vision internal camera. When you put food inside it, the camera recognises food and monitors its cooking. Once cooked, the Haier ID Ultimate Series 6 Oven stops the cooking programme to prevent burning and so you can serve your food at the perfect temperature and texture.

With its 78-litre capacity, the Haier ID Ultimate Series 6 Oven has a lot of room inside, including seven different shelf levels. The oven also has a Pure Flavour Steam setting and sous-vide programme, so you can steam and cook foods at lower temperatures to preserve its flavours, textures and moisture levels.

Moving on to the hob, the ID Hob Series 6 is dubbed by Haier as a ‘fully active induction hob’. The surface can cater for up to six pots and pans, and it automatically recognises where you put them to deliver precise power. It also has a Power Follows the Pan feature, so you can move your pan to a different position, and the cooking settings follow it.

The ID Series 6 range is expected to launch soon at Haier.

A morning cup of tea or coffee is a staple of many people’s morning routines. But if (like me) it takes a lot to get you out of bed in the morning, the Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle will make your morning cuppa a lot quicker and easier, thanks to its Alexa compatibility.

One of the last things I expected to be upgraded with smart technology was the humble kettle. But smart kettles have been on the rise in the past few years, as you can remotely control them using an app or your voice, so you can have boiling water at the ready for when you finally get out of bed for your morning brew.

Morphy Richards is the latest manufacturer to join the smart kettle party with the recent launch of its new Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle. It can connect to your Alexa app or Echo smart speaker, so you can ask Alexa to boil the kettle, schedule timings and adjust the temperature.

The Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle looks like an ordinary kettle for all intents and purposes. It has a matt black colour with a 360° cordless base, but where it differs is its LED touchscreen display which you can manually adjust and check your boil’s progress.

With six temperature settings to choose from, the Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle can be boiled between 40°C and 100°C, depending on the drink you’re making. It has a generous 1.5-litre capacity, and a digital water level indicator which shows you how much water you have in the kettle.

But as a smart kettle, the best part of the Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle is its smart controls. Being able to say “Alexa, boil the kettle” is a game changer, especially if you want to save yourself time waiting around – a watched pot never boils, after all!

With the Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle, you can also use your voice to set schedules and temperatures. For example, you can say “Alexa, boil the kettle at 7pm” and it’ll do this for you at exactly the time you’ve requested, or you can say “Alexa, set the temperature to 80°C” to get the right heat for your drink.

Other handy features of the Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle is its keep warm function which will keep your water hot for up to an hour after boiling. It’s a great appliance to add to your smart home ecosystem, especially if you’re an Alexa user, and it’s sure to become a big part of your morning routine.

Developed in collaboration with Ecovacs, Bosch has launched its new Built-In Vacuum and Mop Robot, designed to integrate both the robot and its docking station directly into kitchen cabinetry.

The system is designed to fit in or next to a sink base cabinet and can be installed by a trained kitchen installer. Bosch says it's being introduced across more than 400 independent kitchen retailers in the UK and Ireland.

The built-in model is part of Bosch's new UK robot vacuum range, which also includes standalone models for anyone who doesn't want an integrated option. Bosch hasn't officially announced a price for the built-in model yet, although it's currently listed by Wellingtons Electrical for £2,790 (around $3,777), so that gives us a rough idea of what to expect.

This isn't the first built-in robot vacuum we've seen, but it's one of the more notable examples to actually reach mainstream retail. LG also launched a robot vacuum with a built-in station last year, although it still isn't available to buy.

Once it's finished cleaning, the Bosch robot automatically returns to its station, where it empties its dust box, cleans and dries its mopping pads, and recharges. The station connects directly to fresh water, wastewater and power, and can wash the mops with 75°C hot water and dry them with 45°C hot air. It also dispenses floor-cleaning detergent and cleans the station itself.

It features 20,000Pa of suction power, making it Bosch's most powerful robot vacuum to date. At just 84mm high, it's designed to get underneath furniture and into trickier areas, whilst it can also cross barriers of up to 20mm, including door thresholds.

You can control the robot through the Home Connect app, with options to adjust floor plans, create no-go zones and set cleaning routines. It also supports multi-floor mapping across up to three floors.

At IFA 2026, Dreame announced its latest flagship robot vacuum cleaner, and it looks like the brand’s most advanced model yet. The new Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete has been upgraded with better mapping and climbing technology, and it comes with a clever steam cleaning feature.

Robot vacuum cleaners have gotten extremely advanced over the years, with many even being able to climb the stairs – terrifying, I know. But the Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete marks a serious milestone as it’s one of the first robot vacuum-mops that can steam clean your floors.

Previously, if a robot vacuum had a steam function, it didn’t directly steam the floor. Instead, its base station used steam to wash and sanitise its mop pads after cleaning. In comparison, the Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete can actually steam your floors by releasing up to 180°C of steam through four outlets on the roller edge.

The steaming function of the Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete is designed for spot cleaning. It’s best for loosening dried-on stains before the roller head completely removes and cleans the floor using hot water. It also uses steam to self-clean at 100°C.

For vacuuming, the Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete has 40,000 Pa suction power, and a new HyperSteam Detangling Floor Brush 2.0. The updated brush head uses a combination of rubber and crystal brushes to collect large dirt and dust in different sized spaces.

To separate its vacuuming and mopping, the Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete has a Triple Tech Hub that lifts the brushes and mops up to 15mm when needed. It can also extend its mop rollers to 8cm for edge cleaning.

Speaking of lifting, the Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete can climb steps and thresholds up to 10cm, thanks to its ProLeap Obstacle Clearance technology. Its mapping and detection is also better than before. Powered by OmniSense 4.0, the robot vac-mop uses X-Vision dual AI cameras and VersaLink navigation to map your home.

During cleaning, the AI cameras adapt to your environment so it can react to moving objects, and can even re-route in real-time. The Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete can also recognise over 320 different objects, some even as small as 1cm.

Dreame states that this new robot vacuum-mop has a four hour runtime, although its battery life is notably smaller when using the steam function. This limits the Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete runtime to around 40 minutes. To switch this off, you’ll need to manually do this in the app.

The Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete is expected to launch in select European countries on September 21st. As of writing, UK and US availability has yet to be confirmed and pricing is also being kept under wraps.

At IFA 2026, Levoit unveiled its new smart air purifier, specifically designed to create a cleaner and calmer environment in your home. Where the new Levoit Eleva 300X Smart Air Purifier really shines is in the bedroom, as it works efficiently yet quietly to clean the air around you without disrupting your sleep.

What impressed me the most about the Levoit Eleva 300X Smart Air Purifier is its speed. According to Levoit, the air purifier can clean the air in your home in just 12 minutes up to 272m³/h. It has three modes – Daily Comfort, Focused Care and Advanced Care – and an Adaptive Start function which automatically purifies when it detects declines in your air quality.

Within the Levoit Eleva 300X is HEPA and carbon filters which make up its DuoShield dual-filter system. The filters can be used together or separately to capture different particles, odours and bacteria in the air. The interior also has a MaxSeal airflow design which locks these allergens inside so they don’t get released back into the air.

Air purifiers can get quite loud, but Levoit has adapted its Eleva 300X air purifier to work as quietly as possible, especially when in Sleep Mode. After studying sleep air trends, Levoit found that the air quality in your bedroom can impact your rest and recovery, so it developed the Eleva 300X to improve your sleeping environment without disturbing you.

When in Sleep Mode, the Levoit Eleva 300X operates at just 19dB and switches off its display lights. At its loudest, it operates at 50dB but Levoit claims that it’s quiet enough for daily use in all rooms, including your bedroom. Even at night, the Levoit Eleva 300X automatically responds to the air in your room when particle levels change.

As a smart device, the Levoit Eleva 300X is compatible with the VeSync app. It uses AI insights from Levoit’s Data Lab to monitor and report on air quality in real-time. Its Sleep Air Trends section is its most impressive feature, as it allows you to create your own sleep schedule, and track changes in your air quality overnight which may have affected your sleep.

Having used a fan and air purifier hybrid overnight for the past few months, the Levoit Eleva 300X definitely appeals to me. The hotter weather left my bedroom feeling stuffy but my fan-purifier helped make the air more comfortable and clean, while also showing me the different levels of temperature, humidity and air quality throughout the night.

While I’ve loved using my fan-purifier, it definitely made my room sound like a wind turbine, so a quiet option like the Levoit Eleva 300X sounds much better. The Levoit Eleva 300X Smart Air Purifier is available to buy for £159.99 at Levoit.

After a few months of waiting, Lavazza has finally launched its Tablì coffee machine in the UK. Expanding its line-up of pod coffee machines, the real star of the new Lavazza Tablì coffee system is its coffee ‘tabs’ which, unlike normal pods or capsules, have absolutely no plastic, and are instead made of 100% coffee.

I’ve tested many pod coffee machines in my time as T3’s Home Editor, and have always championed them as being a quick, easy and convenient way to make your morning coffee. My one negative about these types of machines is its pod waste. While most can be recycled, they still generate a lot of plastic and aluminium waste.

Lavazza has clearly thought of this, and ‘invented’ a new type of coffee pod to go with its new Lavazza Tablì single serve, capsule-free coffee machine. Instead of a pod, it uses a coffee tab made entirely of coffee without any protective coating or binders.

The Lavazza Tablì is specifically designed to use this type of coffee tab so you get the full flavour and aroma in each cup. Once brewed, the coffee tab can be disposed of with your food waste instead of ending up in landfill like older types of coffee pods.

The design of the Lavazza Tablì is similar to its other pod coffee machines. Available in white, black or brown, it has a bean-shaped slider and piston system which allows you to easily and quickly insert and remove each coffee tab. It also comes with Wi-Fi support so you can connect it to other compatible devices in your smart home via Alexa or Google Home.

The Lavazza Tablì has an intelligent brewing system which is best at making espresso, double espresso and lungo. The machine uses Lavazza’s Crema Plus technology to expertly brew your coffee to bring out the coffee’s flavours and create a crema on top of your drink.

When asked about the Lavazza Tablì, Emanuele Pellegrino, Regional Director of Lavazza UK & Nordics said “Tablì represents a major breakthrough not only for Lavazza, but for the coffee industry as a whole. By combining a 100% coffee tab with a specially designed machine and unique brewing technology, we are introducing an entirely new product category and a coffee experience that, until now, simply didn’t exist on the market.”

The crowded halls of the Messe were filled with all sorts of interesting products this year, from cutting-edge (quite literally) robot lawn mowers to whole-home AI ecosystems. However, amongst all the new launches, there was one product that particularly caught my attention, and if I'm being honest, I didn’t expect it to.

Robot window cleaners have never been something I’ve been completely convinced by. In my mind, cleaning windows is one of those jobs that can be done quickly with some window cleaner and a bit of elbow grease. The best robot vacuums, on the other hand, can take care of one of the most time-consuming household chores, so I’ve always found their window-cleaning counterparts a little harder to justify.

That was until I saw the new Ecovacs Winbot W2S Pro Omni in action.

First unveiled in April, the W2S Pro Omni brings a few upgrades that make it a much more convincing option. Most notably, cleaning efficiency has been improved by up to 46% compared to previous models, thanks in part to its three-nozzle wide-spray system.

The system creates a fine pre-treatment mist that helps loosen stains before the cleaning pad even makes contact with the glass. This means the robot can tackle dirt before it starts wiping, helping it clean the surface more thoroughly in a single pass.

It also comes with a 12-step protection system designed to keep the robot securely attached to the window whilst it works. Its 120ml water tank can cover up to 75m² on a single fill, making it particularly useful for larger windows, French doors and skylights where repeatedly stopping to refill would quickly become a pain.

Navigation has also been upgraded with WIN-SLAM 4.0, which is designed to map different window layouts and navigate around obstacles such as handles and locks. There’s also a 5,200mAh battery, offering up to 110 minutes of cordless cleaning, but the station can also be connected directly to AC power for longer cleaning sessions.

The W2S Pro Omni looked far more premium than I anticipated, with a neutral fabric-covered design that I imagine will be very popular. It was also lightweight enough to carry between different windows, which makes the idea of using it throughout the house feel much more practical.

The Ecovacs Winbot W2S Pro Omni is available now for £529 via Amazon UK and Ecovacs' online store. It will also be available from retailers including Very and Harvey Norman in the UK, whilst US customers can buy it through Amazon US for $599.99.

IFA 2026 took place last week, and it’s the time of year when huge appliance manufacturers announce a whole host of new products and collections – and this year, Haier is no exception.

Haier has announced a massive new line-up of appliances, including fridge freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers and coffee machines. But something I was most surprised to see from Haier was its new vacuum cleaner line-up, called the I-Pro Clean Series 5.

Within the range are upright, cordless and robot vacuum models, all of which are designed for specific cleaning needs, like floor types, different stains and dirt. One characteristic which ties the Haier I-Pro Clean Series 5 together is its Double Roller system.

Haier’s Double Roller technology features two motorised rollers which work together during cleaning, including forward and backward motion. The counter-rotating rollers capture and pick up more dirt while also reducing the amount of passes the vacuum does over the same surface.

The first model from the Haier I-Pro Clean Series 5 range is the Haier I-Pro Clean M5. This cordless vacuum cleaner has up to 250 air watts of suction power and uses an integrated sensor to detect and monitor dirt, and adjust the vacuum’s power for an efficient clean.

The design of the Haier I-Pro Clean M5 is simple, with a large bin at the top of the vacuum, and a display at the top for the controls. It also shows you real-time feedback as you clean. It has a flexible tube design which allows it to get under furniture, and it has up to 100 minutes of runtime.

Within its bin, the Haier I-Pro Clean M5 has a HEPA 13 filter and a five-stage separation system which captures dust and other small particles. Its self-emptying station also works to prevent these allergens and bacteria from getting back into the air, and has advanced plasma disinfection technology to keep itself clean, as well as your floors.

In terms of robots, the Haier I-Pro Clean R5 has up to 22,000 Pa suction power, and combines its Double Roller system with a roller mop for both vacuuming and mopping. Its mop can extend and lift to avoid carpet, and it thoroughly cleans multiple surfaces of dirt, dust and stains.

The Haier I-Pro Clean R5 has an LDS navigation system with an AI camera that makes maps, detects and avoids obstacles, and recognises dirt. It comes with a docking station that charges, empties and washes and dries itself.

Finally, Haier is taking on the Dyson Wash G1 with its own floor washer. The Haier I-Pro Clean Z5 uses its Double Roller system and dirt detection to adjust the amount of water it adds to your floors. Not only does it ensure a thorough clean, but it stops excess water making your floors too slippery and avoids cross-contimation with dirty water.

As a cordless device, the Haier I-Pro Clean Z5 has a 50 minute runtime, and an auto clean function which washes and dries its rollers when finished. It has an impressive 25,000 Pa suction power, and offers edge-to-edge cleaning to get close to the edges and corners of your home.

Haier has many appliances under its belt, but its new flagship cleaner line-up definitely looks like it could give Shark and Dyson a run for their money.

Le Creuset and Star Trek might not be the most obvious pairing, but the two brands have come together for a fun limited-edition collection celebrating 60 years of the iconic sci-fi franchise.

The Le Creuset x Star Trek collection brings some of the franchise’s most recognisable characters and symbols into the kitchen, with everything from Enterprise-inspired cast-iron cookware to Spock-themed mugs and Klingon knobs.

Le Creuset has also gone one step further to mark the launch, sending a cast-iron casserole into the stratosphere. The Enterprise-inspired dish launched from Derbyshire attached to a sustainable hydrogen-filled balloon, reaching an altitude of 110,095 feet (33.5km). It spent 1 hour, 19 minutes and 4 seconds in the stratosphere before returning safely to Earth by parachute.

That said, you don't need to send your Le Creuset into the stratosphere to enjoy the collection. There are plenty of much more practical – and considerably cheaper – options to choose from.

Leading the range is the Enterprise Round Casserole with Starfleet Insignia Knob, priced at £425 – around $500. The Signature Round Casserole features the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 across its surface, emerging from Le Creuset's signature rings.

Then there's the Klingon Shallow Casserole with Klingon Knob, priced at £385 or $450. It's a considerably bolder-looking piece, taking inspiration from one of the more formidable forces in the Star Trek universe.

There's also the Galileo Shuttlecraft Rectangular Casserole Dish, priced at £130 or $150. The 1.6-litre baking dish takes its design cues from the shuttlecraft used to explore the unknown and comes in a rather lovely warm Brioche finish.

If you don't fancy spending hundreds on cookware, there are plenty of smaller accessories to choose from. The Starfleet Insignia Knob and Klingon Knob cost £40 each (around $50) and offer an easy way to add a little Star Trek personality to compatible Le Creuset cookware.

The Spock Ear Mug is priced at £31 ($40) and features a sculpted handle inspired by Spock's famous ears, complete with real gold detailing around the rim. There's also a Spock Hand Spoon Rest in Bleu Riviera for £36 (around $45), adding another subtle nod.

Rounding things off are a Star Trek Oven Mitt in Star Trek Blue for £36 ($45) and a Communicator Grater for £52 or $65. So, alongside the more collectible cookware, there are a few useful everyday kitchen accessories in the mix too.

Dyson has revealed its most powerful 3-in-1 air purifier at IFA 2026, alongside two other new models designed to tackle of a range of spaces. The Dyson HushJet Hot Cool Pure+ air purifier combines three core features - purification, heating and personal cooling, which makes the unit super versatile and ideally suited to a wide range of uses.

The trio of multi-stage filtration system purifiers are able to capture 99.999% of pollutants, even those as small as 0.01 microns whilst also removing 99.9% of bacteria as well as destroying any traces of formaldehyde and other harmful gases.

The Dyson HushJet Hot Cool Pure+ air features a distinctive star-shaped nozzle that looks like it could have come straight from the aerospace industry. While the design is super efficient and offers coverage up to 140m2, it can be fine-tuned to allow air to be delivered in multiple directions. HushJet silencer engineering also means the unit is quiet, running at just 44dB. It also offers an impressive filter life of two years.

Dyson launched its first HushJet Compact Purifier in 2025 and then supplemented that with the Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Fan in April of this year. The innovative design thinking behind this range draws inspiration from the field of aviation, especially when it comes down to that funky HushJet Nozzle. The design, which enables precise control of air and sound levels, has since gone on to be used across the Dyson range of air purifiers, heaters and coolers.

Pure Cool+ Formaldehyde

Anyone wanting something a little more compact will find the Pure Cool+ Formaldehyde air purifier perfect for smaller spaces. The high-performance medium-format purifier boasts up to 3 times more powerful purification, while still having a form factor that will be ideally suited to anyone with space issues.

Performance wise, the Pure Cool+ Formaldehyde offers air projection of 20 metres, coverage of 280m² and operates at less than 50dB. The filter life is an impressive 18 months.

HushJet Big+Quiet Cool Pure+ Formaldehyde

Conversely, the HushJet Big+Quiet Cool Pure+ Formaldehyde air purifier sits at the other end of the spectrum offering performance that’s aimed at taking on multiple rooms in one go. It has a 20-metre projection capability, coverage range of 360m², a filter life of up to 18 months and operates at 46dB for the European model.

Dyson air purifier pricing and release date

The Dyson HushJet Hot Cool Pure+ air will launch in December with an RRP of £549.99. However, if you can’t wait, the Dyson HushJet Big+Quiet Cool Pure+Formaldehyde, priced at £899.99 and the Dyson HushJet Pure Cool+ Formaldehyde costing £549.99 will both be available from October.

Roborock has taken the covers off a crop of new products at IFA 2026, including the dazzling Saros 20 robot vacuum range. Top of the pile has to be the Roborock Saros Rover, which has already been showcased at CES in Las Vegas and features independently adjustable legs that make it one of the most agile robovacs out there.

However, for the team here at T3 Towers, the Roborock Saros 20 Flow Complete offers less in the way of party tricks, but delivers oodles more practicality. The appliance boasts a formidable 36,000 Pa HyperForce suction motor system, which looked really impressive when it was in action on the huge Roborock show floor.

This model has also got an upgraded AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0, which means it’s more than capable of getting over obstacles around the home, including thresholds of up to 8.8cm. The Roborock Saros 20 Flow Complete also packs a roller mop, for tackling hard floor surfaces, spillages and stains.

The Roborock Saros 20 Flow Complete behaves smartly too, thanks to its RetractSense LiDAR Navigation system, which helps it get under low furniture. The 3D obstacle recognition was similarly impressive during demonstrations, underlining how Roborock seems to have got it just about right with its latest crop of machines.

Roborock Saros 20 Neo

Another highlight of the imposing Roborock booth was the Roborock Saros 20 Neo. Roborock has tailored this machine towards homes with more complex floor layouts, which combined with its beefy specification makes it a great all-rounder.

The Roborock Saros 20 Neo sports a similarly beefy arsenal of cleaning tools, including the AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0 setup, advanced navigation and obstacle recognition (over 300 different items no less) as well as a 36,000 Pa HyperForce suction motor. It’s also great at getting into low-slung environments, right on down to space of 7.95cm.

Adding extra appeal to the specification is a dual anti-tangle system, which makes it useful for shaggy dog owners and other pet hair scenarios. Meanwhile, the warm-water mopping system can apply up to 14N of downward pressure when needed, making the Saros 20 Neo a good option for folks who face stubborn floor stains on a regular basis.

The docking station also washes the mop with 100°C hot water, which should keep the roller in tip top condition. It’ll also cover nearly 350 m² on a single charge.

Both the Roborock Saros 20 Flow Complete and the Roborock Saros 20 Neo also benefit from European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF) certification, which means they’re officially ‘Allergy Friendly’.

Roborock RockAqua P1

However, Roborock also continues to diversify its innovative product portfolio, adding the RockAqua P1, its first robotic pool cleaner to the collection. It looks very cool, with a design that appears almost too good to put under water.

Much like its dry land Roborock counterparts, the robotic pool cleaner features an enviable ability to tackle complex pool shapes covering floors and walls as it goes, right up to a minimum depth of 15cm. It features 6,800 GPH of suction, packs a 4-litre debris basket into the body shape and the 180 μm + 70 μm dual filtration system means it’s easily able to collect dirt and debris effectively.

There’s a runtime of up to 3.5 hours, recharging takes about the same amount of time and a built-in monocular camera ensures obstacle avoidance. Meanwhile, dynamic dirt detection assists the machine in adapting to ever-changing pool conditions. Fishing it out of the pool is also not needed thanks to the Auto Waterline Parking, which automatically brings the robot to the surface.

Roborock F25 Ultra Steam Gen2 and more

Roborock also revealed a slew of other goodies, including its so-called intelligent cleaning solutions that consisted of the Roborock F25 Ultra Steam Gen2 and the Roborock F25 Pro Turbo Combo. The former had a nifty high-temperature steam and hot-water cleaning design that was easily able to tackle stubborn and dried-on stains during the brand’s keynote event.

Meanwhile, the Roborock F25 Pro Turbo Combo had a clever 5-in-1 system that makes it a brilliant multi-tasking machine, transforming it from a wet/dry vacuum into a cordless machine that can be used on standalone items of furniture or for forays into those hard-to-reach areas around the home.

Elsewhere, the Roborock RockNeo Q2 LiDAR robotic mower was just as impressive. This cool-looking creation can cover areas of lawn up to 800 m². It comes packed with top tech too, including Sentisphere LiDAR environmental perception and ReactiVision Fusion features that offer the latest in cable and antenna-free navigation.

There’s also a floating cutting deck and a PreciEdge cutting module that delivers precision trimming of borders. Owners can expect it to cut within 3 cm of lawn edges, which is impressive.

Pricing and availability

The Saros 20 Neo is set to be released in the UK starting from today, and can be purchased via Amazon UK as well as the Roborock UK store. It has an RRP of £999. However, UK consumers also can purchase the Saros 20 Neo for just £799 from the 7^th to the 20^th of September and by doing so will receive an additional 480ml of cleaning solution.

Ireland will get the Saros 20 Neo a little later, from October, with pricing details yet to be confirmed. Similarly, pricing for the Saros 20 Flow Complete, the Saros Rover, RockAqua P1 and other products will be confirmed later down the line.

T3’s Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 review in a sentence: A perfectly proportioned design and impressive performance delivers heaps of appeal for average homeowners.

When it comes to the best robot vacuums, the Eufy brand is right up there with the best of them. I recently reviewed the Eufy Omni S2, which was a beefy though costly machine that ticked all the right boxes. It had quite an imposing design though, which is why the recently tested Eufy Omni C28 caught my eye shortly after. It looked a little more low-key and a lot less bulky, which for anyone with space considerations in mind, makes a much more sensible purchase.

The Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 follows a similar theme on the aesthetics front, with a form that works well for me and a list of functions that are impressive too. Specification highlights include 35,000pa suction thanks to a supposedly exclusive multi-cyclone system that means the AeroTurbo setup maintains cleaning consistency for much longer. Maintenance and cleaning intervals are said to be less frequent too.

Elsewhere, there’s HydroJet mopping, which delivers 288mm wide roller cleaning and rinsing of said roller on the go. The mopping intensity sounded good too, with a 15N pressing force being applied across the roller compared to the more commonly found 8N on alternative models. Adding to the overall cleaning credentials is a side-facing laser, that combined with the wide roller, should deliver better results right up to the wall. Often a weak spot on some lesser machines. So, did it work as expected? Read on to find out…

Price and availability

The Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 has an RRP of $1099.99, but early bird pre-sale buyers will receive a discount, bringing the E35 to $899.99. Pre-sale is open now on Eufy's website.

For the UK, the RRP is £999, which makes the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 a higher-end model, although it packs a very impressive set of features and functions that make the cost look justified.

Design and features

One of the best aspects of the Omni E35 is its size. Compared to some models I’ve reviewed, this one feels about right in the dimensions department, making it ideally suited to the hallway location I favour in my house. The overall design looks good too consisting in the main of black plastic, some of it matt and some of it shiny. All in, the robot and base station didn’t feel ridiculously heavy either, meaning it could be relocated without much fuss.

Inside the box, the Omni E35 comes with the robot vacuum unit and the Omni base station, that is home to the rear-mounted power connection plus on the top, to the right, clean and dirty water tanks as well as a dedicated cleaning solution compartment.

Also on the top, to the left side of the unit, a physical dust bag is hidden away under a lifting lid. There’s a container of floor cleaner included for good measure along with a power cable, quick start guide and a safety sheet. Unboxing and setting it up took me mere minutes and there wasn’t much to do. The detachable ramp that leads the robot vacuum into the docking station needed clicking in place and the tanks filled and that was about it.

The RoboVac unit itself is nicely designed; with essentially all of the usual features we’ve seen before. On the top of the unit, there’s a prominent LiDAR navigation component standing proud of the main body, while just in front is a power button and a recharge button. Along the front is the RGB camera, line laser sensors and an LED light.

Notably, square wall sensors can be found on each side of the RoboVac’s body. Around the back, where it docks with the base station, are the various ports that allow for water collection. Under the lift-off top, is the on-board dust bin.

On the underside, there are a collection of components that work in tandem to make the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 deliciously potent. The carpet sensor quickly spots a change in floor surface, the DuoSpiral brushes come pre-fitted and the impressively proportioned roller mop makes for a top-level array of cleaning tools.

That mopping roller, in particular, was nicely designed to that it extends to the very end of the RoboVac body, which always helps when it comes to get in close to kitchen units and skirting boards. Overall, the feature set, design and build quality feels very premium.

Performance

I’ve always found Eufy software and its app design to be spot on, especially for its home security camera products. So, I was similarly impressed with the app for the Omni E35. At the time of writing, I was asked to use a beta setup, due to the pre-release nature of the product being tested.

However, once the Omni E35 is live, the app will be available for iOS 11 or later and Android 8.0 or later devices. Users will need a Wi-Fi router broadcasting a 2.4GHz signal and an account needs to be set up in order to add the device. And, thankfully, the Omni E35 is easy to add to the app and configure.

First up, following the initial startup procedure, is the mapping process. This followed the same theme I’ve encountered on other Eufy models and was relatively simple and straightforward. I quite like the way Eufy allows for easy map management, which is handy for merging floor layouts where your home has open plan sections. Other handy options include the ability to flag no-go zones, areas where carpet or rug sections might be and, crucially, configure the floor material settings.

Considering I use my robot vacuum on a ground floor that is predominantly open plan and covered with wood laminate, all of the app options allow precise management of what happens and when. I certainly couldn’t fault the vacuuming side of things, with more than enough suction on a hard floor to get rid of everyday dust, dirt and balls of fluff that seem to proliferate on hard floors. The robovac even managed quite well on rugs I thought, even though I’ve yet to find a model that really feels at home on thicker pile.

Best of all though, the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 is a prime performer when it comes to mopping. The downward pressure exerted by this unit was impressive and it can easily tackle stubborn or sticky stains. The appeal is boosted by the continuous washing of the mop, which happens in transit. I got one or two water drops around the docking station, but overall, the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 delivered excellent results. Plus, that wide roller really did get right up to the edge of skirting boards, which was a real bonus.

I particularly liked the way the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 could have its component parts disassembled without hassle in order to maintain its efficiency. Even the small dust bin could be taken apart for more thorough cleaning and the same went for the rollers on the underside. These clicked in and out very easily, which meant I could clean them off and remove trapped long hairs in seconds. Again, the ease of use was very appealing.

Verdict

The Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 is perfect for the average home. It’s got more than enough muscle on both the vac and mop fronts and maintenance levels appear to be low. For example, the docking station bag and cleaning solution only need replacing every 30 to 60 days depending on use.

Meanwhile, the roller mop, high-performance filter and brushes should be good for between 3 and 6 months of use. Those clean and dirty water tanks (2.5 litres and 2.4 litres respectively) need monitoring but they’re of a good size so, overall, I’d say the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 is a pretty fuss-free option.

The runtime, up to 188 minutes in quiet mode, is impressive too while charging is officially 4 to 5 hours, which is perfectly fine to me. Operating levels up to 84dB are also acceptable and the Omni E35 can also manage carpet clearance of 26mm. As a complete package, this bag of tricks is a very solid option.

Alternatives to consider

Anyone with a larger home who wants something a little more substantial should investigate the Dreame X50 Ultra Complete robot vacuum. Alongside the brawny Eufy Omni S2, larger robot vacs make a good option for similar money. However, the neat form factor of Eufy Omni C28 mentioned earlier is a good alternative to this model.

There is, of course, also the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E25 as another option, which can probably be had for less money these days. We’ve found it at up to half the price of the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 with some simple searching online. It is also great at cleaning right up to the edges of skirting boards and kitchen units.

Dyson has unveiled an entirely new range of robot vacuums, combining its Neural Intelligence technology with its latest vision system. The lineup consists of three models – the R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV, R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry and R1 Nurovi Dry – each offering a different level of cleaning.

The news comes just two days after Dyson launched its long-awaited CameraJet toothbrush, taking the brand into an entirely new category. This latest launch brings the focus back to floorcare, but it's still a significant move, especially given Dyson's limited history with robot vacuums.

The Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry and R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry are available from today, priced at £499.99 and £749.99 respectively. The more advanced R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV will follow in early 2027, with pricing still to be confirmed.

The Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV sits at the top of the range, featuring an AI-powered stain detection system that combines UV light, AI vision and green laser-like illumination to identify nearly 200 different household substances and objects. Once it spots a stain, the R3 can then repeatedly clean the area until it's gone.

A self-cleaning wet roller uses a 12-point hydration system to continuously apply fresh water heated to 70°C, helping tackle stubborn stains whilst cleaning the roller on every rotation. The full-width microfibre roller can also extend by 40mm to get closer to edges, whilst 30,000Pa of suction takes care of dry cleaning across hard floors and carpets.

The Dyson R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry takes a slightly different approach, swapping the circular mopping pads found on many robot vacuums for Reuleaux triangle-shaped pads. The pads are designed to maintain a constant width as they move, helping the robot reach further into corners and along edges where circular pads can struggle.

For vacuuming, there's a new Twin-capture system that separates fine and coarse debris. Bristles mechanically sweep larger debris into the robot, leaving the vacuum motor to focus its suction on finer dust and smaller particles.

There's also an acoustic piezo sensor that detects dust levels and different floor types in real time, automatically adjusting suction and cleaning behaviour as the robot moves around your home.

Finally, the Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry is the dedicated dry-cleaning model, designed for both carpets and hard floors. It uses the same Twin-capture technology as the R2, paired with 21,000Pa of suction. Dyson has also redesigned the side sweepers to better control the direction of dust and debris.

Those sweepers can extend towards walls and into corners for better coverage too, whilst the new design is intended to reduce hair wrapping and tangling around the bristles.

Dyson has also unveiled the W1 PencilWash, an upgraded version of the original PencilWash that launched earlier in 2026. We awarded the original model three stars in our full review, so it's good to see an upgraded version arrive so quickly.

The new W1 has a more absorbent roller, redesigned hygienic waste system and self-cleaning technology built into the dock, whilst retaining the slim design from before. The Dyson W1 PencilWash is also available from today for £299.99, which is around £90 cheaper then the original's current price.

Shark has finally launched its long-awaited PowerDetect Transformer vacuum cleaner in the UK. The 3-in-1 cleaning gadget has completely changed my mind about upright models, and it might even convince you to go back to this style of vacuum – here’s everything you need to know.

In true Shark style, the brand debuted the PowerDetect Transformer in the US in July 2026. Two months later, UK shoppers can now get their hands on the Shark PowerDetect Transformer and as someone who’s tried it (full review coming soon), I can confidently say it was well worth the wait.

The main attraction of the Shark PowerDetect Transformer is it has three vacuums in one device. As a full-size upright corded vacuum, the main bin can be removed for it to turn into a lightweight stick vacuum. From there, you can break it down even further into a handheld vacuum.

My main issue with upright vacuums is that they can be extremely bulky and heavy, but the Shark PowerDetect Transformer fixes that problem. I was recently invited to the SharkNinja offices to see it in action, and while it was a little on the heavier side in its upright form, it was easy enough to move around and lift.

Turning the Shark PowerDetect Transformer into a stick vacuum makes it significantly lighter. But my favourite part of the new 3-in-1 device was its bin – yes, really. The ‘front’ of the upright vacuum is a large bin that collects dirt and debris that it sucks up, but as a stick or handheld vacuum, it doesn’t have that main bin system.

Instead, the Shark PowerDetect Transformer has a smaller bin just below the handle of the vacuum, so it remains attached when in stick and handheld modes. It doesn’t have a huge capacity like the main bin but it contains a good amount of dirt.

When reattached to the main upright part of the Shark PowerDetect Transformer, the smaller bin automatically empties into the main dust cup, so you don’t have to empty two different bins. It’s not too loud when it does this either, and it goes through the emptying process twice to ensure it doesn’t leave anything behind.

Having tried the Shark PowerDetect Transformer myself at SharkNinja’s offices, I found putting the vacuum apart and together very easy and satisfying with the quick click. I used it to vacuum up cereal, sprinkles and other mess, and it performed exceptionally well on both carpet and hardwood floors.

Oftentimes, the Shark PowerDetect Transformer cleaned the entire mess with a single stroke. When I moved it backwards over dirt, it didn’t crush or smear the mess but picked it up in the reverse direction, too.

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer has many of Shark’s best features which as a Shark vacuum owner, I’m glad the new model didn’t get rid of them. It has Anti Hair Wrap technology to avoid tangling the brushroll, as well as reveal technology to illuminate hidden dirt with its LED light on the head.

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer also has updated, smarter features like detect technology which automatically responds to floor type, dirt levels and edges, as well as a HEPA filter for capturing allergens and preventing odor with its odour neutraliser technology.

As mentioned above, I’m currently testing the Shark PowerDetect Transformer and a full review will be out soon so stay tuned for that. But my overall first impressions when I got to try it at the SharkNinja offices was a positive one – and it might have convinced me to go back to an upright vacuum.

iRobot has officially launched the Roomba Max 875 Combo Robot + AutoWash Dock at IFA 2026, its most advanced robot vacuum and mop to date. The new flagship focuses on deeper carpet cleaning, tougher stain removal and keeping carpets dry whilst mopping, alongside a more maintenance-free docking system.

It comes with 35,000Pa of suction alongside iRobot's new SealForce Vacuuming Technology, which lowers a skirt around the chassis to create a tighter seal against carpet fibres and concentrate cleaning power where needed. It's an interesting approach when many of the best robot vacuum cleaners are chasing ever-higher suction figures, with iRobot instead focusing on how effectively that power reaches the floor.

The Roomba Max 875 Combo Robot + AutoWash Dock is available from today through iRobot's online store for £1,099/$1,199.

Mopping has been upgraded too, with ThermaMist Technology spraying heated mist to loosen dried-on stains before the PowerSpin Max Roller Mop scrubs them at 300rpm. PerfectEdge technology extends the mop towards walls, whilst LiDAR and PrecisionVision AI handle navigation and obstacle avoidance.

As mentioned, the AutoWash Dock takes care of most of the maintenance, washing the mop with 80°C water, drying it with heated air, dispensing cleaning solution and emptying the dustbin. iRobot also claims it can provide up to 90 days of hands-free maintenance.

Tapo has launched a new robot vacuum and mop that’s considerably more affordable than many of its recent releases, despite still promising plenty of cleaning power. The Tapo RV30 Max Plus Gen 2 is an upgraded replacement for the original RV30 Max Plus, which first launched in late 2024.

The RV30 Max Plus Gen 2 delivers 13,000Pa of suction power and retains Tapo’s Tangle-Free Cutting Brush, which picks up hair before automatically cutting and detangling it in the dock. If you’re short on space, the docking station is also relatively compact at around 11 x 9 inches, despite offering up to 90 days of hands-free maintenance.

The RV30 Max Plus Gen 2 is priced at £299.99 (around $400) and is currently available to buy from Amazon and Tapo’s own online store.

There are plenty of other useful features too, including improved edge-to-corner cleaning thanks to a longer side brush that reaches further along walls, around furniture and into corners. It can also automatically detect carpets and adjust its cleaning accordingly, or you can set your own cleaning preferences depending on the room and surface.

Navigation has also had an upgrade, with a new-generation dToF LiDAR system designed to move around obstacles with greater precision. It supports 3+1 multi-floor maps too, allowing it to recognise different floors and store maps locally to build up a more complete picture of your home.

Nespresso has brought back its autumn coffee pod collection for 2026, and this year there’s a brand new flavour joining the lineup. Cinnamon Apple Crisp combines cooked apple and cinnamon flavours with spicy notes, made using 100% Arabica beans from Brazil.

Nespresso recommends enjoying Cinnamon Apple Crisp as a Reverso, which involves adding hot or cold milk to your glass first before brewing the coffee over the top. However, you can also drink it hot or over ice depending on what the increasingly unpredictable autumn weather is doing.

The new flavour is available exclusively for Vertuo machines as a 230ml Mug pod, priced at £8.50 (around $10) for a sleeve of 10.

As mentioned, two familiar autumn favourites are also making a comeback, starting with Pumpkin Spice Cake, which also appeared last year. As you’d expect, it combines sweet pumpkin with warming notes of cinnamon, clove and cardamom, all layered over a lightly roasted South American Arabica coffee base.

There's also Maple Pecan, which combines the sweetness of maple with nutty pecan notes. Nespresso says it works particularly well as a creamy cappuccino or served over ice, so there's a little more flexibility if you're not quite ready to embrace hot drinks again.

Unlike Cinnamon Apple Crisp, both returning flavours are available for Vertuo and Original machines. Vertuo sleeves cost £8.50 ($10) for 10 pods, whilst Original sleeves are priced at £5.50 (around $7.50) for 10.

If you own a compatible Vertuo machine, you can also use its Coffee Creations mode with the seasonal pods. This shortens the extraction to produce a smaller, more concentrated coffee, which should help bring out more of those autumnal flavours.

The Cinnamon Apple Crisp, Pumpkin Spice Cake and Maple Pecan pods are available now for a limited time from Nespresso boutiques and via Nespresso's website, whilst stocks last.

Due to the intense heatwaves, summer 2026 has been a very long season. Personally, I’ve loved the hot weather, but after seeing Le Creuset’s new Autumn collection, the new cookware and dining essentials have got me excited for the colder months of the year – something I never thought possible!

The Le Creuset Autumn collection has always been popular, due to its cute and whimsical pumpkin designs. Last year, the brand introduced new colours for its Fall Into Autumn range, including volcanic, garnet, thyme and chambray colours, but this year, I’ve spotted a few new designs that I can’t wait to get my hands on.

I’m a huge Le Creuset fan, so I’d like to say I’m fairly familiar with its collections. But in the new Autumn collection, I noticed that it has some products that have been available in the US for years, and they’re now finally here in the UK.

Starting with the iconic pumpkin cast iron casserole dishes, the Le Creuset Autumn collection now has them in a full 24cm / 3.7-litre size, as well as a shallow version. The full sized dishes come in volcanic, black, white and sea salt, and I recently spotted it in nectar, its bright yellow colourway which makes it look more autumnal.

For me, the lids of the pumpkin dishes are always the star of the show. They now have an updated curly gold stem handle on the lid, and there’s also a stainless steel option.

Straight from the US, the Autumn range now has leaf serving dishes and bowls available. Previously, Le Creuset had – and still has – Halloween-inspired serving dishes, including a ghost, cat, mummy and pumpkin – but the new leaf sets feel much more autumnal. I spotted them on the US site a year ago, so I’m very excited to get these in my kitchen.

Completing the Le Creuset Autumn collection is pumpkin-shaped serving bowls, butter dishes and gravy boats. Once again, the mugs are my favourite from the new line-up, especially the mini pumpkins with lids. There are also black and orange mugs with bat decorations on them, perfect for Halloween.

If there's one thing British residents have been looking at buying this summer, it's a fan. With multiple heatwaves blasting us with record temperatures across several months, the need for a continuous gust of cool air has never been greater. The problem is, the fan market can be a bit of a minefield as it’s impossible to know what fan will deliver on your needs.

Tower fans are usually the way to go for power, but they tend to come in two camps: either cheap ones that look the part but sound like a jet engine, or expensive ones from the likes of Dyson that are whisper-quiet but cost in the region of £500.

Meaco, the British brand that's built a loyal following with its Sefte range of air circulators, is trying to occupy the middle ground with the Sefte Smart 36" Tower Fan, a full-height tower with Wi-Fi app control, Alexa and Google Assistant support, 12 speed settings and noise levels as low as 20 dB.

All of that for under £100 sounds like a no-brainer on paper, but does it live up to its promises in real life? I've been using it for the past few weeks across the recent UK heatwaves to find out. Here's how I got on.

Meaco Sefte Smart 36" Tower Fan review: price and availability

The Meaco Sefte Smart 36" Tower Fan is available now in the UK, priced at £99.99 direct from Meaco’s webstore, as well as from all the big retailers such as John Lewis.

At the time of writing, it doesn't appear to be available in the US or Australia. For those wondering anyway, £99.99 converts to roughly $130 / AU$195, but without official availability in those markets, you'd be looking at import costs on top.

Sitting just under £100, it easily undercuts smart tower fans from the likes of Dyson (which start from several hundred pounds) and is about neck and neck price wise with fans like the Dimplex DuoCool (around £119 on sale), though the DuoCool offers cordless battery operation which the Meaco lacks.

Quoted running costs are listed at just under 1p per hour based on current energy tariffs, so with a maximum power draw of just 34 watts, you could even leave it running all day without really noticing a difference on your energy bill.

Meaco Sefte Smart 36" Tower Fan review: design and build

The first thing you’ll notice about the Sefte Smart 36" Tower Fan is the odd choice in design. It’s not the most beautiful fan you’ll have ever seen, that’s for sure. My problem isn’t with its shape, either – it’s nice and tall and slim. The issue is the fan’s beige-cream finish, which is very reminiscent of an early 2000s PC tower. And paired with the lightweight plastic construction, the whole thing looks and feels quite cheap.

That said, the fan is perfectly sturdy and nothing feels like it's going to fall apart, it's just that the materials don't scream premium, so not exactly something you want sitting in your living room. Next to a Dyson air purifier, for instance, it looks a generation behind.

Nevertheless, it does boast a couple of design features I enjoy, such as the size. At 925mm tall and just 263mm wide, the Sefte is slim enough to tuck into a corner without taking up much floor space, and a hidden carry handle in the back makes it easy to move between rooms.

The glow-in-the-dark magnetic remote control is another plus point. Not only is it a fun circular shape, but its inbuilt magnet means it clicks neatly into place on top of the fan when you're not using it, so you've always got somewhere to stow it.

Another design detail I enjoy is the fan’s digital display on the front, which is super clear and easy to read, showing your current speed, mode and timer settings. Night mode dims and eventually turns off the display entirely, which is a thoughtful touch for if you’re using this in the bedroom.

Meaco Sefte Smart 36" Tower Fan review: performance and features

Whatever the Sefte Smart lacks in looks, it more than makes up for in performance.

For one, the airflow is seriously powerful. With 12 speed settings, you've got everything from a barely-there breeze on speed one to a full-on hurricane on speed 12. I've used Dyson tower fans at home, and I was surprised by how the Meaco outperforms them on sheer power. On the higher settings, the air reaches across the room with force, and during the recent heatwaves it made a real, noticeable difference when trying to cool down.

Noise levels are another positive. On speeds one and two, for example, it's near-silent. I've been running it overnight in the bedroom and it hasn't disturbed sleep once. Even at moderate speeds, the noise stays low and unnoticeable. It's only when you push past speed eight or nine that the motor becomes audible, and even then it's nothing compared to cheaper tower fans that sound akin to a jet liner taking off.

As for oscillation, you get four settings of 45, 90, 135 and 180 degrees. The widest setting sweeps the air across most of a room, while the narrowest focuses the breeze on a single spot. I should note that there's no vertical tilt, but for a tower fan that's pretty standard.

It’s the Sefte’s smart features that make this fan really good value for money, though. The Meaco app connects over Wi-Fi and gives you control of speed, mode, oscillation and the timer from your phone as well as working with Alexa and Google Assistant, so voice control is an option if you've got a smart speaker set up, which is handy.

The Eco and Night modes are cool features worth highlighting, too. While Eco monitors the room temperature and automatically adjusts the fan speed in response to the environment, Night mode turns off the display, mutes sounds, and gradually reduces the fan speed hour by hour as you sleep. Small yet clever additions that make this fan feel smarter and overall more intuitive across different uses.

Meaco Sefte Smart 36" Tower Fan review: verdict

The Meaco Sefte Smart boasts excellent performance with impressive noise levels, and a bunch of smart features that are hard to beat at this price. It's powerful enough to handle proper heatwave conditions, quiet enough to sleep next to, and the app and voice control add a layer of convenience that most sub-£100 fans simply don't offer.

The design, though, is the sticking point here. The dated colourway and plasticky build let down what is otherwise a seriously capable fan. If Meaco gave this the same design treatment it's given to its Sefte pedestal range, it would easily be a five-star review.

Nevertheless, if aesthetics aren't a priority and you just want a fan that performs brilliantly for under £100, the Sefte Smart is one of the best buys going.

Vitamix is taking on Nutribullet with its first-ever personal blender. The new Vitamix Nano has a slim, streamlined design, and is packed with clever features, including a SmoothiePilot programme – although UK customers will have to wait a while to get it.

Personal blenders have become exceedingly popular over the past few years. Due to the size, personal blenders make single-serve smoothies rather than one that feeds a small village. Aside from cutting down food waste and saving time, being able to take your smoothie with you in the blending vessel instead of decanting it into another container is immensely helpful, and commuter friendly.

Brands like Nutribullet, Ninja and Beast have all created their own personal blenders, and now, it’s Vitamix’s turn. The new Vitamix Nano is a corded, personal blender that’s powered by a 1000W motor and stainless steel blades which cut through fresh and frozen ingredients, including ice.

While the base looks quite chunky, the Vitamix Nano measures 15.3 inches in height, 8.5 inches in length and 5.5 inches in width. Available in black or white, it’s designed to take up minimal countertop space in your kitchen. The controls of the Vitamix Nano are incredibly simple, with just a single-dial interface.

By twisting the dial, you can adjust your own speeds to personalise your blends, or you can use the SmoothiePilot programme which is my favourite Vitamix Nano feature. Dubbed Vitamix’s first adaptive smoothie programme, the Vitamix Nano senses the ingredients in your cup, and automatically selects the right blend.

When in action, SmoothiePilot adjusts the Nano’s speed and blend time to deliver the perfect consistency and texture of your smoothie. It can also be used to make frozen drinks, like cocktails, and it has a generous 20 ounce capacity.

The Vitamix Nano is available to buy for $199.95 at Vitamix. As of writing, UK pricing and availability has yet to be announced.

The Philips 1000 Series Dual Basket Air Fryer has arrived in Lidl, and there's a pretty big saving to be had on this best air fryer. Despite carrying an RRP of £169.99, Lidl is selling it for just £79.99, knocking a huge £90 off the usual price.

It has a total capacity of 7.1 litres, with a removable divider that lets you switch between two 3.55-litre cooking zones and one larger MegaBasket. That makes it particularly handy for families, or anyone who uses their air fryer for more than one part of a meal.

As mentioned, it's available in Lidl stores from today. Given the size of the discount, I'd definitely check Lidl's stock checker before making a special journey, especially if previous middle-aisle deals are anything to go by.

We're seeing plenty of affordable home appliances appearing at Lidl and Aldi at the moment, including Lidl's recent £6.99 alternative to Philips' OneUp mop and a range of student-friendly kitchen buys from Aldi. However, this one stands out because it's actually a Philips product rather than a cheaper alternative or dupe, yet the price still feels very middle aisle.

The 1000 Series also comes with 10 cooking functions and six preset programmes, alongside a temperature range of 400-200°C and a 60-minute timer. We haven't reviewed this exact model at T3, but it's similar in concept to the larger Philips 5000 Series MegaBasket, which recently earned five stars in our review. That said, the 1000 Series is the more compact option, measuring 29.5 x 43.7 x 30.1cm.

Despite being T3’s resident air fryer expert, it took a lot to convince me to actually have an air fryer in my kitchen. But now that I have one, it’s quickly become one of my favourite kitchen appliances, thanks to these three features – and in spite of this one setting.

The ever-growing popularity of air fryers has always surprised me, and I initially held off getting one as I saw them as something that took the joy out of cooking. My kitchen also has two ovens, so it seemed a waste not to use them. However, after testing a few models, I came to appreciate the speed and convenience of using an air fryer, as well as the quick clean-up.

This summer is what’s really turned me into an air fryer convert, as both of my ovens have recently had issues, and the heatwaves have made it too hot to cook. I’ve been using mine constantly, and have found three air fryer features that I love and one that I never use, and quite frankly, don’t see the point of!

Air fryer features I love

1. Viewing windows

If I had to recommend any style of air fryer, I’d always say to go with a viewing window. Having a viewing window at the front or top of your air fryer allows you to quickly check on your food’s progress without disrupting the cooking by opening the drawers. Most models come with built-in lights to illuminate everything which enhances visibility.

This is the one feature that I felt was missing from air fryers, and for me, it gave ovens an edge. But now that viewing windows are more common, it definitely puts air fryers ahead of the traditional oven more than before.

2. Max Crisp

Available on select Ninja, Cuisinart and Philips air fryers, Max Crisp adds an intense burst of high heat towards the end of cooking to give your food an extra crispy texture. Most Max Crisp settings deliver temperatures up to 240°C / 450°F, and they also increase the fan speed so your food cooks quicker.

I’ve found Max Crisp to be especially helpful with cooking frozen foods. I’ve often had inconsistent results with chips and chicken goujons as they never come out as crispy as I’d like them to be, so Max Crisp has really helped with this.

3. Sync & Match

The Sync & Match feature is a real game changer. For dual basket air fryers, both drawers can be used to cook independently or at the same time, so you can make two different foods using different settings. But what makes this feature invaluable is Sync & Match which automatically sets both compartments to finish cooking at the same time.

For meal prepping or large family meals, Sync & Match means there’s no waiting around for everything to finish cooking. It also ensures your food comes out as fresh and hot as possible.

The air fryer feature I never use

1. Shake reminder

I might get some backlash for this, but I really don’t see the point of the Shake Reminder feature, and in fact, I rarely use it. On the air fryers I’ve tried, I haven’t found it to be very precise, and oftentimes, the Shake Reminder hasn’t sounded at all.

I, of course, understand the appeal of the Shake Reminder feature, especially if you chuck food in your air fryer and then go about doing other household tasks. However, I tend to stay in my kitchen while my air fryer is on to fix other parts of my meal, so I can clearly see when my food’s cooking time is at the halfway point.

Essentially, I haven’t had the best luck with the Shake Reminder feature, so it’s not a setting I’m excited about or would look for when buying an air fryer.

Another day, another Ninja launch! Ninja has just announced its new CrushBOSS 3-in-1 Kitchen System which combines a blender, food processor and personal blender in one sleek gadget.

Ninja has an extensive line-up of blenders and food preparation devices under its belt, but the Ninja CrushBOSS is the first time it’s blended – no pun intended – them together. How it does that is with its smart and powerful motor base which is where you clip on the blender or food processor accessories.

Where I think the Ninja CrushBOSS stands out against its competitors is its BlendBOSS Tumbler which is for the personal blender function. I tested the Ninja BlendBOSS and while I loved its quick and powerful blending, I didn’t love the shape of the base.

I already found the base of the BlendBOSS to be speedy but being able to clip it onto the Ninja CrushBOSS is a gamechanger. The BlendBOSS tumbler also comes with its to-go lid and straw, and has a generous 710ml capacity.

Samsung has expanded its Slide-in and Over-the-Range line-up with new ovens and microwaves. Featuring advanced cooking technology, both the ovens and microwaves come with Air Fry Max, a feature that cooks food up to 15% faster than normal.

Despite newer and more advanced appliances taking over the kitchen, there is still a high demand for microwaves. The latest kitchen trend is hybrid appliances that offer multiple cooking functions in one device, and Samsung’s new microwave is no exception.

Doubling as an air fryer, the Samsung Smart Over-the-Range Microwave with Air Fry Max prepares tasty and healthy meals in less time than a regular oven or microwave. With no pre-heating required, the Air Fry Max feature delivers high temperatures while its True Convection technology circulates heat rapidly to cook food quickly and evenly.

With 10 power levels and a large 1.7 cu.ft capacity, the Samsung Smart Over-the-Range Microwave with Air Fry Max can cook multiple air fried meals at once while reducing cooking time. It also has an Air Sous Vide feature which uses precise heat instead of water to cook sous vide while enhancing flavour and moisture.

Compared to old timers such as Sage and De'Longhi, who've been churning out espresso machines for years, Ninja is relatively new to the world of barista-style coffee makers.

After launching its first barista style espresso machine – the original Luxe Café – back in 2024, it’s safe to say Ninja has made waves in this space and in a surprisingly short space of time (probably thanks to the consumer trust the brand has on the back of its successful line of air fryers). The "Pro" version followed in 2025, adding an integrated tamper, independent hot water dispenser and an upgraded milk frother to an already impressive package.

Now, the brand's latest release comes in the form of a limited edition David Beckham collaboration, which hit the market earlier this year. The result of a six-month creative process between Ninja and the former England captain, it takes the existing Pro and wraps it in a new matte black stainless steel finish with shiny gold accents and black chestnut wood grain detailing on the portafilter and milk jug handles.

Everything under the surface is functionally the same as the standard Luxe Café Pro, so this review is about two things: is the Pro still worth the money, and does the Beckham edition add enough to justify the extra cost? I've been using it as my daily coffee machine for the past few weeks to find out.

Ninja Luxe Café Pro review: price and availability

The Ninja Luxe Café Pro David Beckham Edition is available now direct from Ninja and big retailers such as Amazon.

When researching prices, I found (rather oddly) that RRP varies dramatically across different regions. In the UK, you’ll find it for £879.99, but in the US you can pick it up for just $749, which converts to around £550. Down under gets an even better deal, with an RRP of AU$999.99, which is around £520. And you can save even more if you decide to drop the David Beckham design.

The standard Luxe Café Pro is the exact same machine, just with a different look, available in Stainless Steel, Oat Milk or Onyx colourways. It’s listed on Ninja’s webstore for £729.99 in the UK - a difference of £150 - and has the same $749.99 (about £550) price tag in the US, although the standard model isn’t available in Australia.

Interestingly, while there’s essentially no Beckham premium across the pond, you’re paying an extra £150 in the UK just for the limited-edition design.

In terms of competition, there’s no shortage of coffee machines of this calibre in the market. The five-star Sage Barista Touch Impress is arguably the Ninja's closest rival when it comes to feature set and target audience, but it does have a slightly higher price tag of around £1,049 / $999.95, AU$1,900 making the Ninja notably cheaper.

Then there’s the T3 Platinum Award-winning De'Longhi La Specialista Opera, which is another strong competitor since it offers the same functionality and arguably better build quality. This sits at around £799 / $749.95 / AU$1,199 mark, so the Beckham Edition slots in just above it price-wise.

Whether the Beckham tax is worth it depends entirely on whether the design really floats your boat or not. The machine itself is functionally identical to the standard Pro model, so you're only really paying for the colourway, the wood accents and (let's be honest) the name. If none of that matters to you, the standard Pro in its regular finishes is a smarter buy as it will save you a good £150!

Ninja Luxe Café Pro review: set up

Getting the Luxe Café Pro up and running is refreshingly quick. After slipping it out of its box, you slot in the drip tray, fill the water tank, pop some beans in the hopper, and you're brewing within about ten minutes.

The machine comes with single, double and even quadruple baskets (more on that later), a portafilter, an XL milk jug, cleaning tablets, descaling powder, a cleaning brush, cleaning disc and even a hard water testing kit, most of which slot neatly into a nifty accessory drawer that opens on the right-hand side of the unit.

Once it’s plugged in, the Barista Assist technology walks you through your first brew, suggesting a grind size based on the drink you've selected, and the integrated scale weighs your dose automatically. It's about as close to plug-and-play as a machine like this can get, and if you've never used a semi-automatic espresso machine before, it does a good job of making the whole process feel less intimidating than ever.

Ninja Luxe Café Pro review: design and build

On paper, the Beckham Edition of this coffee machine sounds like the bees knees: a matte black stainless steel body with gold accents and black chestnut wood grain on the handles. In reality, I can’t help but think it’s not what it’s cracked up to be. The gold and black finish, for example, just looks a bit naff: think regional luxury à la Cheshire beauty salon or Dubai influencer apartment.

If the gold had been a deeper tone, or even bronze and in a matte or brushed finish, it would feel a lot more premium. As it stands, the gold has a sheen to it that looks a bit cheap, and doesn't quite match Ninja’s very own "refined meets rebellious" marketing. The brand was clearly going for a luxurious, aspirational look here, but instead it comes across a bit try-hard and wannabe “bougie”.

Don’t get me wrong, the wood grain handles on the portafilter and milk jug are a nice touch, and they do add some sophistication and warmth to the overall look. But as with any design choice, I guess it’s subjective, and I can certainly see how it will grab attention.

My bigger concern is the build quality. At nearly 900 quid, I was expecting something that felt substantial and solid. Instead, much of the construction is plastic, and in places it feels a little flimsy. The removable drip tray, in particular, can literally be flexed and bent in your hand, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Coming from a Sage, which has a noticeably more robust, metal-heavy build, it feels like Ninja has cut some corners on materials here, maybe to hit its price point? Still, it's perfectly functional and nothing feels like it's going to break, but the weight and feel of it just doesn't match the price tag.

That said, the machine is surprisingly compact for everything it does. You get three brewing methods (espresso, filter coffee and cold brew), plus an integrated grinder, tamper, scale and milk frother, all in a footprint that doesn't dominate the worktop. It looks the part sitting in the kitchen, even if the gold and black won't be to everyone's taste.

Ninja Luxe Café Pro review: performance and features

Whatever reservations I have about the Luxe Café Pro’s design, they all feel a bit trivial once I start making coffee. This machine produces excellent espresso. The 19-bar pump delivers proper pressure, the conical burr grinder offers 25 settings for dialling in your preferred grind, and the integrated tamper applies consistent pressure every time via a simple lever press. Tamps are therefore flat and compact, making for way less mess.

As for the Barista Assist technology, this suggests a grind setting based on your chosen drink, which is useful as a starting point. I did find, though, that following its suggestion sometimes produced a slightly runny espresso. Dropping the grind level a notch or two below the recommendation gave me a thicker, richer shot with a lovely crema on top. But this is the kind of thing you’ll figure out after a few days of use, and once you've found your sweet spot, the results are consistently good.

Weight-based dosing is another standout feature. The built-in scale automatically weighs the coffee as it's ground into the portafilter, stopping when it hits the target dose. It removes one of the biggest variables in home espresso and means you get consistent results every morning without faffing around with a separate scale.

When it comes to milk frothing, Ninja’s system isn’t the kind you’d normally find on a conventional semi-automatic barista machine. Rather than a standard steam wand, it uses a jug with a spinning whisk inside (akin to what’s inside the Nespresso “Aeroccino“ milk frother gadgets) that heats and froths the milk simultaneously.

While it’s a different approach to the norm, it actually produces better microfoam than I expected, with a smooth, velvety texture that works well for lattes and flat whites.

The trade-off, however, is speed. Compared to my Sage, the Ninja's frothing system takes noticeably longer to heat and froth the milk. It's not a huge wait, maybe an extra 30 seconds or so, but it's enough to notice during your morning routine. The other slight frustration is that you can only adjust the froth level (across five settings), not the actual milk temperature. My Sage Oracle Jet lets me dial in temperature by the degree, but then again, that machine costs almost double, so I shouldn’t really compare.

As for other modes, such as filter coffee making, this produces a well-balanced, smooth cup, and the cold brew function is a nice bonus, delivering a concentrated cold brew in around 20 minutes rather than the overnight steeping most methods require. Having all three brewing methods in a single machine, plus a dedicated hot water dispenser for tea and americanos, makes the Luxe Café Pro one of the most versatile coffee machines I've used - especially for the price!

Ninja Luxe Café Pro review: verdict

With or without the Beckham design and the divisive gold trim, the Ninja Luxe Café Pro is one of the most capable and user-friendly all-in-one coffee machines on the market. The espresso is top notch, the Barista Assist technology makes it easy to use from the get-go, and having espresso, filter and cold brew in a single compact unit is hard to beat at this price.

Rather ironically, it’s the design which is supposed to be the headline feature of this limited edition machine that will split opinion. The gold finish doesn't look as premium as I think Ninja intended, and the plastic-heavy construction feels a little cheap for an £880 unit, especially when compared to rivals like Sage. But these are only cosmetic and material concerns, and when it comes to performance, the Luxe Café Pro delivers every time.

If you love the Beckham colourway, then I say go for it. But if you're less bothered about the aesthetics and just want the same brilliant machine for £150 less, the standard Luxe Café Pro in one of its other finishes is definitely a smarter buy. Either way, Ninja is offering something here that’s certainly giving the competition a run for its money.

Meaco has just expanded its MeacoFan Sefte range with two new tower fans to get you through the next UK heatwave. Available in small or large sizes, the Meaco Sefte Tower Fans have a slim space-saving design that takes up minimal room, while providing a powerful, cooling airflow – but it’s the price that you’ll love the most.

The UK has been hit by heatwave after heatwave over the past few months. Due to the serious rise in temperatures, many people have been looking to buy a new fan but unsurprisingly, fans have all been out of stock or at an insanely high price.

But Meaco has fixed both of these problems with its new Sefte Tower Fans. Designed for effective cooling and quiet performances, the Meaco Sefte Tower Fans are available in 49cm / 19 inches or 92.5cm / 36 inches, and feature a new slim, lightweight design which you can easily move from room to room.

Both versions of the Meaco Sefte Tower Fan have the same features, aside from size, flow rate and noise levels. Both fans have 12 fan speeds, and normal, ECO and night modes to cater to all times of the day.

The ECO mode is especially handy as it responds and adjusts to room temperatures so you don’t have to, and to help you save energy. Night mode is also great if you like to use your fan at night, as you can turn off the display lights and mute any beeps.

Using a high-efficiency DC motor, the Meaco Sefte Tower Fans deliver speeds up to 9m/s, with the smaller version offering 17.27m³/min maximum flow rate, and the larger providing 34.41m³/min. The fans use Air Beam Precision control to adapt oscillation to your environment, of which there are four options – 45°, 90°, 135° and 180°.

The top of the Meaco Sefte Tower Fans is where you’ll find on-device buttons, including on/off, timers, speeds and oscillation. This can also be adjusted via the remote control and the larger version of the Meaco Sefte Tower Fan is app compatible.

Meaco’s latest fans are some of the quietest on the market, and the Meaco Sefte Tower Fans are no exception. Its smaller 49cm model has noise levels as low as 22dBA and the larger model starts at 25dBA so they can get extremely quiet and won’t disturb you while sleeping or concentrating.

If you can’t decide which one to pick, the Meaco Sefte Tower Fan Small is best for desks, bedside tables and small spaces, while the Meaco Sefte Tower Fan Large is better for large rooms. Both come in Meaco’s popular Warm Pebble colour to blend into the background.

The small version of the Meaco Sefte Tower Fan is £69.99, and the large model is £99.99. I expected these fans to be much more expensive, due to the current demand, so I was pleasantly surprised to see how affordable they are. Both new Meaco Sefte Tower Fans are available to buy now.

Ninja is taking on Brita with its first-ever water filtration system. The new Ninja HydraSense Countertop Water Filtration System eliminates contaminants while preserving minerals for fresh tasting water, and with its four colour options, it might be the most stylish-looking water filter I’ve ever seen.

As the brand’s first-ever water filter, the Ninja HydraSense Countertop Water Filtration System has pulled out all the stops, and it even claims to dispense clean water six times faster than a standard Brita filter. Built for speed, the Ninja HydraSense can be used for quick water refills, as well as cooking and brewing tea and coffee.

The Ninja HydraSense looks quite similar to its Swirl ice cream machine, with its circular touchscreen at the top. The screen has one-touch controls that quickly releases water. It also allows you to choose water volume, monitor your filter’s status in real-time and track your hydration.

Speaking of filters, the Ninja HydraSense has a 120-gallon filter life which can replace up to 900 plastic bottles – and with this water filter in your home, you probably won’t want to drink bottled water ever again. It’s easy to set up as there’s no installation or plumbing involved.

As a countertop appliance, the Ninja HydraSense comes in four stylish colours to fit your home aesthetic. It only weighs 6.6 pounds, and measures 13.78 inches in height, 14.37 inches in length and 5.07 inches in width, so it takes up minimal space in your kitchen.

The Ninja HydraSense Countertop Water Filtration System is available to buy at $199.99 at SharkNinja. Replacement filters are priced at $39.99. As of writing, it’s not yet available in the UK or Europe.

Slushie machines might still feel like a relatively new phenomenon for the at-home hosts amongst us, but there's no denying how popular they've become – especially with the string of heatwaves we've had recently. In fact, they've recently become one of my favourite categories of gadget to test, aside from the best fans, of course.

The Ninja Slushi Twist arrived back in May this year, designed as a dual-vessel frozen drinks maker that can create two different flavours at the same time before twisting them together into one drink.

After multiple gatherings – and forcing plenty of friends to get involved in the testing process – my full thoughts are finally in.

Price and availability

The Ninja Slushi Twist is priced at £419.99/$399.99 and is available through Ninja's online store, as well as Currys, John Lewis and Amazon. It comes in three colours – Mocha, Potion Purple and Green – and I've been testing the Mocha version.

Ninja also sells a selection of accessories designed to accompany the Slushi range, including insulated cocktail cups and an insulated bubble cup. Replacement parts for the machine can also be purchased separately, which is useful if anything gets lost or damaged over time.

Design and features

The Ninja Slushi Twist takes the idea behind the original Slushi and makes one very obvious change – there are now two separate frozen drink vessels sitting side by side. Together, they have a total capacity of 2,840ml, allowing you to make two completely different flavours at once before dispensing them separately or twisting them together.

The two transparent vessels sit either side of a central control panel, with separate augers and chilling systems allowing each side to work independently. The clear design also means you can watch both mixtures gradually freeze, which is handy when you're impatiently waiting for the first round.

Rather than simply applying the same settings to both sides, the Ninja Slushi Twist uses Dual SlushAssist Technology to sense what's inside each vessel and adjust the temperature and freezing process accordingly. This means you can have two very different drinks on the go without having to manually work out the right settings for each one.

Interestingly, Ninja has also moved away from the five named presets found on the original Slushi, which included Slush, Frozen Cocktail, Frappé, Milkshake and Frozen Juice. Instead, the Ninja Slushi Twist relies much more heavily on SlushAssist to detect what you've added and make the necessary adjustments automatically. However, you can still make your drink softer or firmer using the temperature controls if you want more say over the final consistency.

The Ninja Slushi Twist also works with drinks containing up to 20% alcohol, compared with the original Slushi's 16% limit.

There's a difference between individual and Dual SlushAssist too. When you're using one vessel or dispensing the two flavours separately, the individual setting creates a smoother, more drinkable consistency. Dual SlushAssist makes things slightly thicker, helping the two mixtures hold their shape when they're dispensed together rather than immediately blending into one.

You also get straight and angled dispensing spouts, depending on how you want to serve your drinks. The straight spouts dispense each flavour separately, whilst the angled pair brings both together in the centre. There's also a rotating platform underneath the glass, which turns as you pour to create the two-colour twisted effect.

Performance

There's no getting around the fact that the Ninja Slushi Twist is a sizeable machine, but after using it for a few different occasions, I've really come to appreciate having those two separate vessels. The obvious appeal is twisting two flavours together, but I've actually found the ability to make two completely separate drinks at the same time just as useful. Better still, it's easy to switch between the two depending on what you're serving.

For one batch, I made an alcoholic strawberry daiquiri on one side and frozen peach juice on the other, twisting them together to create a cocktail that wasn't quite as strong. At a party, I filled each side with a different frozen cocktail so everyone could choose between the two, and whilst at a family barbecue, I had a frozen mojito for the adults on one side and a non-alcoholic slush for the kids on the other. It's this flexibility that I've ended up liking most about the Ninja Slushi Twist.

SlushAssist also makes the whole process very straightforward. Instead of working out which preset or temperature you need, you can pour in your mixture and let the machine make most of those decisions for you. Each vessel can be adjusted individually when you're making separate drinks, whilst Dual SlushAssist changes the consistency when you're planning to twist them together.

The machine will even let you know if your mixture needs more sugar or more water to reach the right consistency, which really helps when you're experimenting with your own recipes. It's also particularly useful with cocktails, where changing the amount of alcohol can easily affect how well everything freezes.

I was also impressed by the speed. Most of the frozen cocktails I made were ready in around 25 minutes, whilst some of the non-alcoholic mixtures were finished even sooner. Obviously, timings will vary depending on what you pour in and its starting temperature, but I rarely felt like I was waiting particularly long.

The different spouts might seem like a small detail, but they also make a lot more sense once you start using the machine regularly. You can go from serving two individual drinks to creating a twisted combination without having to empty either vessel or start again, which is exactly what I ended up doing when people wanted different things.

Cleaning is probably my least favourite part, although that's something I found with the original Ninja Slushi too. Sugary mixtures get sticky very quickly, particularly if you leave everything sitting around after serving. The removable parts can go in the dishwasher or be washed by hand, but there are quite a few components to deal with when you're giving it a proper clean.

There is a built-in Rinse option, which flushes water through the system to clear leftover syrup, sugar and drink residue between batches. I found it useful when switching drinks or doing a quick clean after use, but I wouldn't rely on it completely. Mine was still slightly sticky afterwards, so I'd recommend giving everything a proper wash once you're finished for the day.

Verdict

The Ninja Slushi Twist is sizeable, pricey and still a little fiddly to clean, but the dual-vessel design gives it a level of versatility I wasn't expecting. Twisting two flavours together is undeniably fun, but having two completely different frozen drinks ready at the same time is where it really earns its place. For parties, barbecues or simply households with very different tastes, having that extra choice makes a surprisingly big difference.

Alternatives to consider

The original Ninja Slushi will always be where it all started, but Ninja has released a few newer models that could make more sense depending on what you're looking for. The Ninja Slushi Max is worth considering if the twisted drinks aren't particularly important to you and you'd rather prioritise capacity. It can make up to 12 drinks, compared with up to 10 from the Ninja Slushi Twist.

If you're working with a smaller budget but still want something that'll impress guests, the Inoviva 2.6L Slush Machine is another option to consider. It's obviously much simpler than the Ninja Slushi Twist and is closer in concept to the original Slushi, but its lower price makes it an appealing alternative if you don't need two flavours on the go at once.

Lidl has launched this week's Kitchen & Household offers in its famous middle aisle, including the W5 Spray Mop, which is available in stores now. At a first glance, it looks very similar to the Philips OneUp – a mop we awarded four stars when we reviewed it at the end of last year.

Now, there is an important difference between the two before we go any further. The Philips OneUp is an electric mop, using a rechargeable battery and Philips' OneUp technology to pump clean water onto the floor whilst separating the dirty water as you clean. The W5 is completely manual, so you're obviously not getting quite the same cleaning system for the money. However, look beyond that and there are several similarities between the two.

Instead of Philips' more advanced cleaning system, the W5 uses a straightforward detergent spray function. There's a lever built into the ergonomic handle, which you squeeze to spray cleaning solution directly in front of the mop as you go. It also has a 500ml removable tank, which should be plenty for a typical floor-cleaning session.

There are a few other similarities to the OneUp, including a flexible mop head and reusable mop pads. There are actually two included in the box, which is something I much prefer to the disposable approach used by alternatives such as the Shark VacMop.

Replacement pads shouldn't be too difficult to find once Lidl stops selling the W5 either. Its rectangular mop head uses a hook-and-loop style attachment, so similarly sized generic microfibre mop pads should provide plenty of replacement options.

One thing that definitely isn't similar is the price. Lidl's W5 Spray Mop costs just £6.99, compared with the Philips OneUp's £150 RRP. However, as with most Lidl middle-aisle bargains, availability will depend on your local store, so I'd strongly recommend checking Lidl's online stock checker before making a special journey.

As T3’s Home Editor, I’ve tried my fair share of bean to cup coffee machines, and I have to say that the KitchenAid KF4 Fully Automatic Espresso Machine is the easiest and cleanest model I’ve ever tried.

KitchenAid is best known for its collection of stand mixers, but it has since become known for its coffee makers. Its first coffee brewer was launched back in 2014, but 2024 was a big year for KitchenAid with the brand launching a full range of fully automatic bean-to-cup coffee machines.

One of KitchenAid’s newest models, the KitchenAid KF4 joined the line-up in 2026 as a mid-range option. I’ve spent the past month testing the KitchenAid KF4, and it’s made my morning coffees exceptionally more tasty, although it does have some quirks under its hood.

KitchenAid KF4 review: price and availability

The KitchenAid KF4 is available to buy for £899 / $1,299 at KitchenAid and select retailers like John Lewis. It comes in matte black or porcelain white, as well as a two year guarantee and 10 year reparability.

KitchenAid KF4 review: unboxing and set up

The KitchenAid KF4 arrived in a large cardboard box which contained the main espresso machine, 1.8-litre water tank, milk container with hose and lid, water filter, cleaning tablets and a coffee spoon. It came assembled so it didn’t require much set up other than removing packaging and stickers.

To use the KitchenAid KF4, I simply added the water filter into the water tank before filling it up. After turning it on via the on/off button on the side, the KitchenAid KF4’s screen takes you through the entire machine and explains all the controls, making it extremely beginner friendly.

Before its first use, the KitchenAid KF4 runs through the water filter and cleans it out, before pulling four shots of espresso. The screen will then prompt you to empty the drip tray and puck box, but then you’re ready to go.

KitchenAid KF4 review: design and features

Measuring 36cm in height, 19.5cm in width and 47cm in depth, and weighing 9kg, the KitchenAid KF4 isn’t a small machine by any means, but it doesn’t take up a huge amount of space. It’s more long than it is bulky, so take this into account if you have shallow countertops.

As a fully automatic espresso machine, the KitchenAid KF4 makes pre-programmed coffees. It has over 20 hot and over-ice recipes available, including lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites, americanos, and iced coffees. When you select your drink, the KitchenAid KF4 offers recommended settings, but you can also personalise them by strength, temperature and volume, which you can then save as a pre-set.

At the back of the KitchenAid KF4 is its large water tank. At the top is a conical burr grinder where you can store and grind your own coffee beans, and a small container next to it for pre-ground coffee. Using its Intelligrind system, the KitchenAid KF4 detects beans and automatically adjusts its settings to bean type, roast and dose. It also has Quiet Grinding technology so it’s not too loud.

The KitchenAid KF4 has a 8.8cm colour touchscreen at the front. It’s easy to use, intuitive and displays drink options, user profiles, cleaning cycles and settings. The screen talks you through every aspect of the brewing process, and pops up with reminders to clean your machine, add more beans, refill the tank and so on.

The drip tray and puck box slots in at the bottom of the machine. It’s spacious, although due to the rigorous cleaning that the KitchenAid KF4 goes through, the drip tray can fill up quite quickly.

Speaking of cleaning, the KitchenAid KF4 goes through a lengthy cleaning process every time you use it. When you turn it on, it has a quick rinse before making your drink. If you make milky coffees, the KitchenAid KF4 will prompt you to clean the milk system which it does by flushing out the tubes in the drip tray, although you’ll have to manually clean the container. When you turn the KitchenAid KF4 off, the machine has another rinse and cools itself down.

As an automatic machine, the KitchenAid KF4 froths your milk for you, so latte art isn’t really an option with this model. It uses AutoMilk technology to adjust to your milk’s texture and volume. The container connects to the machine via its milk hose in the container lid, and the side of the coffee dispenser.

KitchenAid KF4 review: performance

KitchenAid never misses when it comes to design, and the KitchenAid KF4 is a perfect example of that. I tried the black version and I loved the look of it, with its black and silver detailings. Everything was packed away neatly, including the tank, built-in grinder and drip tray, although the separate milk container felt like a bit of an afterthought.

The touchscreen controls were great to use, and extremely easy. Beginners and experts will definitely be able to use the KitchenAid KF4, as its controls are extremely intuitive and self-explanatory. Setting user profiles was quick and simple – although you can only set four – and there was a good amountof drink options.

As a latte lover, I enjoyed the latte macchiato setting on the KitchenAid KF4. The machine had automatic settings for the drink, but I customised its strength, temperature and amount of milk, and received tasty results. Its flat white setting was also impressive, as was its iced espresso which the KitchenAid KF4 brews at a lower temperature to avoid over-extraction and dilution.

The built-in grinder was quick and surprisingly quiet. I found it ground coffee beans exceptionally well, and I had consistent espresso flavour and strength every time. I also tried the KitchenAid KF4 with pre-ground coffee and enjoyed the results, too, although I’d recommend using the grinder as it performs the best.

One quirk I found with the KitchenAid KF4 was if you pick a double shot drink, it grinds and dispenses them one at a time. This isn’t something I’d experienced before with a coffee machine, and I couldn’t – and still can’t – decide if I liked that method. The plus is that you get consistently pulled double shots which are strong and rich in flavour, but the negative is that it takes more time to make your drink.

The KitchenAid KF4 heated up very quickly and produced a lot of steam. I found it to heat milk well but it doesn’t froth as expertly as I’d like for lattes. While it doesn’t have an option to change milk type, its AutoMilk system worked very well with both dairy and plant-based milks.

What I was most impressed by was the KitchenAid KF4’s cleaning processes. Easily the most hygienic coffee machine I’ve ever used, the KitchenAid KF4 cleans itself regularly and even takes time to cool itself down. It does all the cleaning for you, and explains everything along the way, too.

KitchenAid KF4 review: verdict

I don’t have many negative things to say about the KitchenAid KF4, because I thoroughly enjoyed using it. Its touchscreen and overall design is stylish, tidy and intuitive, plus the fact that it’s a fully automatic machine means it leaves no room for error.

I’m used to semi-automatic machines where I have to be more involved in the grind and milk settings, so using the KitchenAid KF4 felt like I was having a break! It took care of absolutely everything, and made consistently delicious coffees every time. Its shot pulling, while odd at first, just proves how precise the KitchenAid KF4 is.

At £899 / $1,299, the KitchenAid KF4 isn’t cheap, but it could be the only coffee machine you could ever need.

KitchenAid KF4 review: alternatives to consider

Another automatic bean to cup coffee machine – and another from KitchenAid – is the KitchenAid KF8. A step up from the KitchenAid KF4 (or I suppose, four steps up), the KF8 looks beautiful, and has a lot of coffee options and settings to play with. The JURA E8 makes tasty and reliable coffee, and it has a much slimmer and more compact style than the KitchenAid KF4.

Bosch has just announced its new air fryer line-up, featuring three new exciting models. The standout from the new range is the Bosch Series 6 Stacked Air Fryer, featuring a double stacked basket design to save countertop room but double the cooking space.

Double stacked air fryers have become exceedingly popular after Ninja launched its Double Stack Air Fryer in 2024. Lots of other brands, including Philips and Cosori have launched their own versions, and now Bosch is joining the party.

From ceiling and tower to tabletop and handheld, a good quality fan is a must during the summer. For the past few months, the UK has been experiencing heatwave after heatwave, so I’ve learnt a thing or two about fans and how to use them to the best of their ability.

Fans have some fairly obvious functions, including speeds, oscillations and night modes. But there are a few underrated features that can take your fan’s cooling power to a whole new level, and expand their usage to all year round rather than just summer.

Here are three underrated fan features you should try to make your home feel cooler.

1. Reverse mode

Reverse or winter mode is an underrated feature found in ceiling and Dyson fan hybrids. For ceiling fans, reverse mode changes the direction to clockwise rather than counterclockwise. When a ceiling fan rotates counterclockwise, it blows cool air down to create a cold breeze. In reverse mode, the clockwise rotation pulls air upward which makes your home warmer – a handy feature for the winter.

For Dyson fans and air purifiers, its reverse or diffused mode means you can change the direction of airflow to the back instead of the front. What this does is allow the Dyson fan-hybrid to still purify the air in your room, but it doesn’t expel cold air directly towards you.

2. Temperature react mode

Many fans from the likes of Dyson, DREO and Blueair have built-in sensors that automatically read and react to temperature changes in your home. This temperature react mode which is often called auto mode allows your fan’s airflow to speed up or down to correlate with the current climate. Sometimes, you’ll have to switch this mode on which you can do via the fan’s remote or app.

3. Power button ‘cycling’ for Dyson fans

If you’ve lost the remote for your Dyson fan and you don’t want to download the app, you can try this power button ‘cycling’ feature. While Dyson fans have LCD screens and button controls, they don’t actually change your fan’s settings, unless you try this trick.

On your Dyson fan, hold down its power button and this should automatically cycle your fan’s speed from 1-10. When the fan reaches your preferred speed, simply let go of the button and it should stay on that level.

Sometimes you want the results of an outdoor cooking appliance without all the hassle that comes with actually cooking outside – especially when summer is drawing to an end. It's why indoor grills remain so popular, and indoor pizza ovens are starting to make a pretty convincing case for themselves too.

The Kenwood My Pizzeria arrived earlier this year as an option for anyone without the outdoor space – or budget – for one of the best outdoor pizza ovens. Despite its compact size, it can reach seriously high temperatures and isn't limited to pizza either, with Kenwood suggesting everything from quesadillas and flatbreads to toasties and pastries.

I couldn't wait to see whether it could actually deliver a proper pizza-oven experience from the comfort of my kitchen, and you'll find all my thoughts below.

Price and availability

The Kenwood My Pizzeria has an RRP of £150 and comes in either black or a metallic Storm Blue, the latter matching the colour found across Kenwood's Go collection.

However, it's already possible to find it for considerably less, including through Kenwood's own website and Argos, where it's currently priced at £99.

Design and features

The My Pizzeria measures 35.2 x 36 x 18.5cm and weighs just 4.7kg, so it's relatively compact. The body combines metal and plastic, and whilst it's still going to take up a decent amount of worktop space, it's light enough to move into a cupboard when you're not using it.

There are just two physical dials on the front, with one controlling the temperature and the other the cooking time. A ClearView window in the lid also means you can watch your pizza cook without constantly opening it and losing heat.

Inside, dual-sided heating elements allow the My Pizzeria to reach temperatures of up to 400°C. Having heat coming from above and below is designed to crisp the base whilst cooking the toppings at the same time, with Kenwood claiming pizzas can be ready in just a few minutes.

At the bottom sits a 30cm removable ceramic pizza stone, helping create the crispier base you'd expect from a dedicated pizza oven. Kenwood actually recommends allowing the stone to season naturally over time rather than trying to scrub it clean after every use. When it does need a clean, it can be removed and wiped down with a damp cloth.

You also get two split stainless-steel pizza peels in the box, which help with getting your pizza onto and off the hot stone, and they can also be used to scrape away any stubborn bits left behind afterwards.

As mentioned, Kenwood also suggests using the My Pizzeria for flatbreads, quesadillas, toasties, pastries and even s'mores, and it'll happily accommodate homemade, chilled and frozen pizzas. Whether you'll actually start baking s'mores in it every weekend is another matter, but it's good to have the option.

Performance

The Kenwood My Pizzeria is incredibly easy to use, and I think that's going to be one of its biggest appeals. You simply choose your temperature with one dial, set the cooking time with the other and let it get on with the job. Some people might prefer more precise digital controls, but I quite liked how straightforward everything was.

I was also pleased to see the ClearView window built into the top, although in practice I couldn't actually see a huge amount through it once everything was cooking. You can get a general idea of what's happening inside – and, crucially, whether your pizza is starting to burn – but don't expect a crystal-clear view as the name suggests.

There's a large handle across the top, which makes opening the oven easy, whilst the pizza stone itself has two handles so it can be lifted out when you need to clean it. There's plenty of room inside too, with the 30cm stone giving you enough space for even a large pizza.

For testing, I made my dough using the Ooni Halo Core Spiral Mixer, which I've covered in much more detail in my full review. Once proved, rolled out, topped and transferred into the My Pizzeria, I was particularly interested to see whether Kenwood's claimed four-minute cooking time would actually be enough.

Thankfully, I was really impressed with how evenly the pizza cooked, particularly underneath. Four minutes doesn't sound like much, and I've used pizza ovens before where the toppings start burning long before the dough underneath has properly cooked, but I didn't have that problem here. The stone did a great job of cooking the base through whilst the upper heating element took care of the toppings, leaving me with a crisp bottom rather than an unpleasantly doughy centre.

My first pizza was delicious, although four minutes was slightly too long for my personal preference. The crust had a little more charring than I usually like, so for my second attempt I dropped the cooking time to around three to three-and-a-half minutes. That was the sweet spot, giving me a nicely cooked base, melted toppings and just enough colour around the crust.

I'm also not someone who particularly enjoys the idea of seasoning pizza stones, cast-iron pans or anything else you're encouraged not to clean too thoroughly, so I decided I was going to give the ceramic stone a proper clean after its first use. By that point, it was covered in melted cheese, crumbs and burnt-on bits, and I was fully expecting a bit of a scrubbing session once everything had hardened.

Thankfully, it was far easier to clean than I expected. Once the stone had completely cooled, some warm water and a cloth lifted almost everything away with very little effort. The built-in handles make a difference too, as you can lift the whole stone out of the oven and clean it separately rather than awkwardly reaching inside.

Verdict

The Kenwood My Pizzeria doesn't try to overcomplicate things, and that's exactly why I enjoyed using it. However, most importantly, it produced a properly cooked pizza base without burning the toppings before the dough was ready. The viewing window could be better, but the removable stone is easy to clean and the whole experience requires very little effort. It's a great-value indoor option for anyone who wants speedy homemade pizza without investing in – or finding space for – a larger outdoor oven.

Alternatives to consider

If you like the idea of an indoor pizza oven but want something a little sleeker, the Caso Design PizzaChef 430 is another option. It can reach temperatures of up to 430°C using top and bottom heating elements and has a similarly compact footprint. However, its touchscreen display gives it a more contemporary feel compared to Kenwood's dials.

At the more premium end, there's the Ooni Volt 12. It's a considerably bigger investment, but it's worth considering if you want something slightly more advanced.

Shark has launched the AquaReach, its latest wet-to-dry vacuum cleaner and mop hybrid. Designed to clean from ‘floor to ceiling’, the Shark AquaReach comes with multiple tools, and features an extendable wand which fixes my main problem with wet-to-dry vacuums.

Wet-to-dry vacuums have been around for a while, but they had a resurgence in the past couple of years, thanks to Dyson. Most notably, the brand launched the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine in early 2024 which combined expert vacuum power with hard floor mopping by swapping out the roller heads.

Now, Shark has made its own version with the Shark AquaReach Vacuum Mop. The vacuum-mop cleans hardwood floors, tile, vinyl, stone, laminate and more, using its main brushroll head and suction. The brushroll even self-cleans as it vacuums and mops so you don’t spread dirt or spills around the floor.

My main problem with wet-to-dry vacuums is how heavy they can be. Of course, an electronic mop is undoubtedly going to be heavier than a standard mop, but it poses a problem when I clean my bathroom – aside from having to slog it up the stairs.

Call me lazy, but I’ve always found it easier to clean my shower tiles using a mop, but lifting an electric wet-to-dry vacuum is out of the question. There’s where the Shark AquaReach’s extendable wand comes in handy.

The wand detaches from the main body of the vacuum so you can use it to clean tiles, baseboards, and areas that are high up or in tight corners, so you can clean your home from top to bottom. As a wand, it still delivers a powerful suction as well as a precision spray for tough stains.

The Shark AquaReach has a dual-tank system that separates clean water and solution from dirty water. It comes with stain scrubber and detailer tools, as well as Shark’s Hydro Multi-Surface Concentrate that cleans tough stains and neutralises odours. For detecting stains, the Shark AquaReach has an LED light in the head to illuminate hidden dirt and debris.

Weighing just 12.81 pounds, the Shark AquaReach isn’t particularly heavy, and as a wand, it’s even lighter. It has a cordless design and comes with a dock that recharges it, and cleans and dries the brushroll. It has a bright blue colour, although there’s also a Shark AquaReach Pro version which comes with a mop pads kit and a stylish black and gold colourway.

The Shark AquaReach is available to buy for $399.99 at SharkNinja, while the Pro version is priced at $529.99. As of writing, it’s not yet available in the UK and Europe, but in true Shark style, its new products launch in the US first before arriving elsewhere, so we expect the same to happen with the Shark AquaReach.

Aldi is launching its new Mini Air Fryer that's perfect for smaller kitchens. Its compact 1.9-litre capacity makes it ideal for snacks and side dishes, but it could also be a great fit for one or two-person households where even the best air fryer can feel like overkill if it's simply too big.

The Mini Air Fryer has arrived as part of Aldi's latest Specialbuys, arriving in stores on Thursday 20th August alongside a selection of other affordable kitchen appliances. These include kettles and toasters for £11.99, as well as a Cyclonic Stick Vacuum Cleaner for £39.99.

The air fryer itself is priced at just £19.99 and comes with a three-year warranty. There are two colours to choose from – black or cream – and I have a feeling the latter could prove particularly popular.

There's a digital LED display and 60-minute timer, making it easy to keep an eye on your food, alongside adjustable temperature controls. You also get a detachable non-stick frying rack, which should make serving food and cleaning up afterwards easier.

It also has a simple single-basket layout, with the controls positioned neatly on top rather than across the front, and the LED panel displays your cooking time and temperature.

This UK summer has been one of the hottest on record so unsurprisingly, there’s been a huge demand for fans and air purifiers to keep cool during the intense heatwaves. I have been surviving the heatwaves using my collection of hybrid appliances from Dyson, like the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx.

Launching in late 2025, this new model features the brand’s most advanced filters to date that are designed to capture bacteria, pollutants and harmful gases to make the air in your home cooler and more hygienic.

Having spent the past few weeks testing the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx, I can confidently say that I’ve noticed a difference to the air in my house – here’s how I got on.

The Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx is available to buy for £699.99 / $1,099.99 at Dyson and select retailers, like John Lewis. It’s often discounted, and as of writing, it’s £100 cheaper at Dyson.

Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx review: set up and design

The Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx arrived in a large cardboard box which had the purifying, humidifying fan completely put together. Alongside an instructions manual was a remote control, plug and power cord, the latter of which measured 1.8m in length.

Setting up the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx was easy as it came assembled with the 360-degree HEPA + K-Carbon filter already inside. All I had to do was plug the cord into the device at the back and into a power outlet, and remove stickers from the sides.

Available in white and gold, the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx has a very recognisable design which is seen across Dyson’s fan collections, as well as its purifiers, heaters and humidifiers. It consists of a white large loop circular fan at the top of the design, and has gold on the main filter body.

A water tank sits at the bottom of the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx which is easy to fill, empty and remove. Its on-device controls sit in the middle, which include on/off and deep clean buttons, and an LCD screen which shows settings and uses sensors to analyse and display real-time air quality data.

Measuring 923mm in height, it has a 280mm diameter on the shrouds and a 312mm diameter on the bottom or ‘skirt’. It weighs 8.12kg but when you fill the tank – which has a five litre capacity – it can get quite heavy.

The Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx has on-device controls, but it also comes with a handy remote. The remote has power and information buttons, as well as auto mode, night mode and a timer. It has 10 fan speeds that can be adjusted via the + and - buttons, and five humidity levels from 30% to 70% which can also be customised.

The remote control also has an oscillation button which offers 90 degrees of oscillation and its diffused mode which reverses airflow direction to the back instead of the sides to purify and humidify without expelling a breeze. The Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx is also compatible with the MyDyson app which unlocks additional features, like personalised reports, scheduling and remote monitoring.

Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx review: features

As the name states, the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx is a purifier, humidifier and fan, all in one device. The upgraded filter is a combination of HEPA H13 and K-Carbon layers which works to purify the air in your home.

The HEPA H13 filter captures 99.95% of particles, including allergens, pollen and bacteria which can be as small as 0.1 microns. The K-Carbon layer features potassium carbonate which forms a chemical bond to trap pollutants like gas, volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde, NO2, dust and odours. The filter is fully sealed so it doesn’t expel dirt back into the air.

The Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx uses Air Multiplier technology to circulate purified and humidified air around the room. It also uses Ultraviolet Cleanse technology to remove bacteria with its water management system and tank. It offers 81m3 room coverage and has a maximum sound level of 62.4 dBA and minimum of 46 dBA.

Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx review: performance

During testing, I mainly used the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx in my bedroom to get me through the hotter, humid nights the UK has recently been experiencing. My bedroom is in the attic of my house so it gets extremely hot and cloying, but after having the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx in it, I noticed some serious changes.

As a fan, the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx is hard to beat. It’s extremely cooling and it’s got a good oscillation range and movement that fully covers a room comfortably. Being able to switch it to diffused mode was invaluable as it still allowed the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx to purify my room and emit a small breeze without feeling like I was being blasted with cold air.

The Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx’s purification and humidification power is what I noticed made the biggest difference to my room. Despite having slanted velux windows, pollen always seems to get in and make me sneeze at night, but while using the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx, I didn’t have any issues with it.

Similarly, my bedroom gets extremely humid but the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx helped manage the humidity levels which made my room feel noticeably cooler, clearer and less stuffy.

I’ve tested many Dyson products and have always liked the look of them. The Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx is no exception, and its white and gold style blended in nicely to my home. To say it isn’t invasive would be a lie – the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx is a large appliance so it does stick out but you won’t really mind considering how well it performs.

I’ve previously found Dyson fans and humidifiers to be quite loud but I didn’t find that to be the case with the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx. Its night mode was especially quiet but still powerful and it gave great relief during the night without being too disruptive. I also liked its on-device and remote controls as they offered plenty of adjustments.

The one downside I could find with the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx is its weight. With the tank full, it gets very heavy, and it’s also not the easiest thing to move around. I’ve spoken to Dyson employees who have categorically told me to not put my arm through the loop to lift it, yet that’s the only way I can even attempt to move it around.

Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx review: verdict

Dyson really knows what it's doing with hybrid appliances, and the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx is a perfect example of this. It purifies, cools and humidifies expertly, and makes a huge difference to the air quality and feel in your home.

The Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx offers plenty of adjustments and controls to play with. It looks great, performs quietly and shows you real-time information about your home on the LCD screen and via the app.

Price will be a drawback for some people. It’s around £700 in the UK and over $1,000 in the US, but if you take the plunge, you can definitely use the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx all year round and get the most out of your purchase. Its weight is another downside, but once you get it in place, you shouldn’t have to worry about it too much.

Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx review: alternatives to consider

A similar product – and one I’ve also got in my house – the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool Formaldehyde looks and acts the same as the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx. It purifies, cools and humidifies, but the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx has a more advanced filter.

The best air purifiers are one of those appliances people often steer clear of unless they've been specifically told they need one. After all, how often do you actively think about the quality of the air inside your home? Complicated apps and confusing controls don't exactly help either, which is one of the reasons I like Shark's approach with its new BreatheClear with NeverChange6 Air Purifier – which I'll call the BreatheClear NeverChange6 for short.

Shark has built on its previous NeverChange models by extending the claimed filter lifespan to six years – up from five – alongside a refined multi-layer filtration system designed to capture fine allergens and microscopic particles more effectively. You'll find all my thoughts below.

Price and availability

The BreatheClear NeverChange6 is priced at £269.99/$329.99/€319.99 and is available from SharkNinja's online store, as well as Amazon. It comes in four gorgeous, understated shades – Dove, Charcoal, Sage and Dune – and I've been testing the Dove version.

Unboxing and set up

The BreatheClear NeverChange6 comes fully assembled, with both the NeverChange6 HEPA filter and washable Debris Defence pre-filter already housed inside the unit.

However, the HEPA filter arrives wrapped in protective plastic, so this needs to be removed first. Before plugging the purifier in, carefully turn it upside down on a flat surface and open the filter door underneath. Remove the HEPA filter, take off all of its packaging and slot it back into position, before replacing the filter door and twisting it securely into place. It sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised how easy this step is to forget.

Once that's done, turn the air purifier upright and decide where you want it to live. Shark recommends positioning it on a flat, level surface with some breathing room around the air intakes, rather than pushing it directly against a wall or piece of furniture. You'll also want to keep the vents clear and avoid radiators, direct sunlight and particularly humid areas.

Design and features

The BreatheClear NeverChange6 sits above the BreatheClear Compact NeverChange6 in Shark's range and is designed primarily for small-to-medium rooms. It measures 37.85 x 26.67 x 26.16cm and weighs just 3.77kg, so it's easy enough to move around the house when needed. Despite its compact footprint, Shark says it can tackle spaces up to 70m² at one air change per hour, or 14m² at 4.8 air changes per hour.

One of my favourite design features is the high-resolution My Air IQ display on the front, allowing information including air quality, temperature, humidity and VOC levels to be presented directly on the machine. There's no accompanying app at all, which I suspect will divide opinion, but I personally really like it.

The BreatheClear NeverChange6's sensors scan the surrounding air 3,600 times every hour, monitoring pollutants and allowing the purifier to adjust its performance automatically when necessary. There's even motion detection, so it can respond when activity in the room disturbs particles, alongside a light sensor that automatically dims the display as your surroundings get darker.

The BreatheClear NeverChange6 filtration system exceeds HEPA standards, with Shark claiming it captures 99.98% of particles between 0.1 and 0.2 microns under its testing conditions. That includes common household pollutants such as dust, pet dander, pollen and mould spores.

More importantly, Shark says the main filter can last for up to six years without needing to be replaced, although this is based on specific testing and usage conditions. There's also a removable Debris Defence pre-filter, which catches larger particles before they reach the main filter. This can be taken out and washed yourself, helping maintain performance and prolong the life of the filtration system underneath.

You can choose between Auto mode, manual fan speeds and Daily Routine Sleep mode. Auto is probably the one most people will use day-to-day, as you can simply leave the purifier to monitor your air and react when conditions change. Sleep mode is designed for overnight use, whilst that built-in light sensor prevents the display from lighting up your entire bedroom once the lights go out.

Performance

The first thing I've loved about living with the BreatheClear NeverChange6 is simply how good it looks. The rounded design and neutral colourway give it a much more lifestyle-friendly appearance than your typical air purifier, and I've been perfectly happy leaving it on display in my living room.

I'll include a TikTok below showing it in action, but just to note, I'd already removed the protective packaging from the filter before filming, which is why you won't see that step.

Thankfully, its performance has been just as impressive. The sensors are incredibly reactive, and you can watch the display change almost instantly as the air quality around your home fluctuates. I particularly appreciate the large colour indicators, which shift between blue, orange and red depending on conditions. Even if you're sitting too far away to read the figures themselves, a quick glance across the room tells you whether everything is looking good.

It's sensitive enough to pick up activity elsewhere in my home too. Whenever I'm cooking in the kitchen, which is in a separate room from where I've positioned the purifier, I've regularly watched the air-quality reading drop from around 98% into the 70s. Once I've finished, it doesn't take long for the figure to start climbing again.

The most impressive example came when I was cooking steak. By the time I sat down afterwards, I noticed the air-quality reading falling rapidly before eventually reaching 0%. You could physically hear the BreatheClear NeverChange6 ramping up its fan at this point, which was particularly noticeable because it's virtually silent during normal operation. It remained at 0% for around a minute before steadily recovering, reaching the 90s again in roughly seven minutes. Seeing it detect such a dramatic change and then respond without any input from me was incredibly reassuring.

The motion sensor also worked well throughout testing. It picked up movement as soon as someone entered the room, even when there wasn't an obvious change in air quality. It's not a feature you'll necessarily notice every day, but it helps the purifier stay aware of what's happening around it.

I was slightly disappointed to see that Shark has dropped the Odour Neutraliser Technology found on the NeverChange 5. This released a fresh scent to help tackle household odours, so if that's a feature you enjoyed on the previous model – or something you think you'd find useful – it's worth knowing you won't find it here.

On the other hand, I have really enjoyed the lack of an accompanying app. Admittedly, that's coming from someone who has to download and test new apps practically every day, but everything you need is presented clearly on the purifier itself, and Auto mode means you can largely leave it to get on with the job.

Of course, that simplicity won't suit everyone. There's no smart connectivity, so you don't get remote controls, detailed app-based insights or the ability to incorporate the NeverChange6 into wider smart home automations. If that's the technical experience you're looking for, it's worth bearing in mind. However, if you simply want an air purifier that's easy to understand and requires very little input, the BreatheClear NeverChange6 is deal.

Verdict

The Shark BreatheClear NeverChange6 gets a lot right, but what impressed me most is how little effort it requires. The sensors reacted incredibly quickly during testing, the colour-coded display makes understanding your air quality effortless and Auto mode means you can largely leave it to look after itself. I also love not having another app to deal with, although the lack of smart connectivity will understandably be a drawback for some. I'm disappointed Shark has dropped the Odour Neutraliser Technology, but with its stylish design, responsive performance and filter that can last up to six years, the NeverChange6 is an excellent choice if you want cleaner air without making it complicated.

Alternatives to consider

If you like the sound of Shark's approach but are working with a smaller budget, I'd still recommend the Shark NeverChange5 Air Purifier. It's fast, quiet and effective at cleaning the air around your home, and whilst its filter lasts for up to five years rather than six, that's still an impressively long time between replacements.

The Blueair Blue Max 3250i is also worth considering, particularly if aesthetics are high on your priority list. Its stylish fabric-covered design looks great, although the filter typically requires replacing far more frequently than Shark's six-year system.

Miele has expanded its American Style Fridge Freezers with three new KFF5 freestanding models.

The appliance market has become overrun with smart and AI technology. Smart fridge freezers are a classic example of this, as more households are adopting this type of technology to keep their daily lives running smoother.

While having a fridge with a touchscreen door or food-scanning cameras is impressive, I think people are forgetting the most important thing about refrigerators and what they’re actually built to do – keep your food fresh. That’s what Miele has prioritised with its new KFF5 American Style Fridge Freezers.

Designed for large families, Miele’s new KFF5 fridge freezers have extra large capacities and are packed with cooling technology. Within the range is the KFF5 6741 which is described as the ‘ideal family fridge-freezer’, the KFF5 6765 which builds on the 6741 and comes with an integrated water dispenser, and the KFF5 6867, the brand’s most advanced, flagship model.

All three fridge freezers feature DailyFresh drawers which keeps fruit and vegetables at the ideal temperature and humidity levels to keep them fresh for up to twice as long as other refrigerators. NoFrost and Freeze&Cool features are included in all three models, with the former using a recirculating air cooling system to prevent too much ice, and the latter offering an extra storage zone.

As the fridge freezer model gets more advanced, the fresh technology does, too. For example, the KFF5 6765 comes with all the features of the KFF5 6741 but adds PerfectFresh Pro technology which keeps food fresher for up to five times longer. Building further on that, the KFF5 6867 has PerfectFresh Active which offers the same freshness duration using active humidification.

My favourite model is the KFF5 6765 – the middleman of the range. It has three independently controlled temperature zones, as well as an integrated water dispenser and filter for water and ice. The flagship KFF5 6867 is also impressive, and unlike the others which have stainless steel finishes, this model comes in Obsidian Black Matt.

Global supermarket chain Lidl has just updated its middle aisle with a new colourful range of Silvercrest kitchen appliances. Following the Pastel Kitchen range’s success, Lidl has brought it back to its stores this week with prices starting from just £4.99.

Despite still being in the height of the summer holidays, many people are thinking about starting or returning to university. Aside from the standard university dorm essentials like stationary and cutlery, you’d be surprised how quickly things start to add up, especially if you’re living in self-catered accommodation.

With this in mind, Lidl’s Pastel Kitchen range is an affordable and colourful collection that’s perfect for students who want to deck out their university kitchen on a budget. The line-up of Silvercrest appliances now comes in mint or pink colours to add a pop of colour to your kitchen – and it helps determine what is yours when that annoying housemate tries to use your things without asking!

As someone who graduated university almost 10 years ago, there’s plenty of appliances I’d recommend taking with you. For starters, a good air fryer like the Silvercrest 4.7L Air Fryer (£29.99) offers speedy cooking, and is a great choice for beginner cooks.

Your university kitchen will likely have a kettle and toaster set but there’s no harm in having a kettle for your room to get you through late-night study sessions. Other products to watch out for include a stand mixer, toaster, jug and hand blenders, microwave and pots and pans. With prices starting as little as £4.99, Lidl has just made it much easier to stock your university kitchen.

I sound like a broken record at this point, but I’m here to say it again – the UK has been insanely hot this summer. Currently, instead of blaring hot sun beating down on us, the humidity is climbing, so while it might not look particularly sunny, the temperatures are almost as intense.

According to BBC Weather, humidity levels are very high this week, with most days being 65% - 78% in humidity, and some places rising past 85% at night. Despite loving the heat, the humidity is what really gets to me, especially when I’m trying to sleep, so I’ve found five handy appliances that you can use to lower the humidity in your home.

1. A dehumidifier

Starting off strong, we have the trusty dehumidifier. Clue is in the name here – a dehumidifier is an electrical appliance that draws water vapor from the air to lower the humidity in your home to leave your space feeling cooler and more comfortable.

Running a dehumidifier can actively cool your home down, while also preventing damp and condensation. They’re fairly inexpensive and they don’t cost too much to run either, so if you’re looking to beat the humidity, a dehumidifier should be top of your list.

2. An air conditioner

As the past few months have been intensely hot, more people in the UK are looking to install air conditioning units or upgrade to a portable air conditioner. Aside from expelling a cool breeze, an air conditioner is especially handy for humidity.

Part of its cooling cycle, an air conditioner pulls humid air across its internal coils or refrigeration system. This action removes the humidity by chilling it and turning it into water vapor which is either dispensed into a collection tray or a drain pipe, depending on the type and model air conditioner you have.

3. A moisture absorber

If you’d rather use a non-electrical device or you’re on a tight budget, you can remove the humidity in your home using a moisture absorber. A moisture absorber uses salts or crystals rather than plugs or batteries to pull water out of the air.

The crystals within the moisture absorber attracts water vapour and collects it into a tray. Aside from removing the humidity, it also reduces mould and odours, and it does so in a cost-effective way. Moisture absorbers can start as little as £1.50 and there aren’t many ongoing costs unlike electrical products. You may have to replace the crystals every three months, but these replacements are very cheap.

4. Bathroom or kitchen extractor fans

A gadget that likely comes integrated in your home already, a bathroom or kitchen extractor fan is a must for making your home less humid. In the bathroom, the exhaust fan removes steam and water vapour after baths and showers, which also prevents mildew build-up. Keeping it on while you shower and for a few minutes after can help with humidity.

Similarly in the kitchen, steam and smoke from your cooking can contribute to your home’s overall heat and humidity. Make sure you always have your extraction on while you’re cooking, and to naturally reduce this humidity, use lids over your pots and pans to reduce steam from boiling or steaming food.

5. A vented dryer

During the summer, I’d always encourage you to use a clothes horse or outdoor line to dry your clothes rather than use your dryer. Tumble dryers get hot – as well as costly – and using one can add excess heat and humidity to your home.

However, if (like me) you don’t have an outdoor drying line, a vented dryer can dry your clothes and limit your humidity. A vented dryer works by pulling in air from the room it’s in, heats it and runs it through your wet clothes. The dryer removes this hot air outside through its exhaust hose or duct which is installed through a window or outside wall.

While the installation might sound like a faff, a vented dryer is less expensive than a condenser dryer. It also dries clothes quickly and by removing humid air from your home, it brings the heat down.

Despite what many people believe, the (not so) humble air fryer can’t actually cook everything – no matter how hard you try. Despite how quick, convenient and time-saving an air fryer is, sometimes using your hob or oven is more efficient, especially if you’re looking to cook these three foods.

I’ve covered foods you should never cook in your air fryer a few years ago in 2023. At the time, I received a surprising amount of angry emails telling me I was wrong. Looking back now that we’re in 2026 and air fryers have become more advanced, I have to agree that some of the foods in that list can in fact be cooked in an air fryer.

But now, experts at Philips a.k.a the original inventors of the air fryer are advising Brits to avoid using them to cook three common foods. According to Martin Senders, Philips’ in-house air fryer chef, “air fryers are incredibly versatile but they’re not suitable for absolutely everything.”

Senders goes on to say that “foods that are very lightweight, produce a lot of grease, or melt quickly can cause problems inside the basket because they can disrupt the hot-air circulation, leading to uneven cooking, excess smoke or a messy clean-up." Here are the three foods you should never cook in your air fryer, according to Philips.

1. Popcorn

Popcorn is very easy to make, and can be made on your stovetop or in the microwave. But in an air fryer? Senders gives that a big no. The reason is air fryers “don't circulate heat in the same way as a popcorn machine. Many kernels won't pop at all, while others can burn. Loose kernels can also be blown around the appliance and become lodged near the heating element."

2. Poppadoms

As mentioned above, foods that are lightweight don’t fare too well inside an air fryer, which is mainly down to the powerful fan that can send them flying around the basket. This is the case with poppadoms which Senders explains "often curl up, cook unevenly or burn in patches before they've had a chance to crisp properly. For the best results, stick to the cooking method recommended on the packaging."

3. Sliced cheese

Finally, placing slices of cheese in your air fryer basket is asking for trouble, especially if you want a quick clean-up – see how to clean an air fryer for the best results. “As soon as the cheese melts, it drips through the gaps, burns onto the base and creates smoke and stubborn residue that's difficult to clean,” states Senders. “Cheese works much better when it's contained inside another recipe, such as a toastie or burger."

With the kind of temperatures we're facing at the moment, it's no surprise that the best fans are flying off the shelves. However, that's also left plenty of room for other cooling options to shine, whether that's the best portable air conditioners, air coolers or, more interestingly, 2-in-1 appliances that combine cooling with another function. Yep, I'm talking about the Dyson Purifier Cool PC1.

The Cool PC1 (sometimes known as the TP11) is both an air purifier and cooling fan, creating a refreshing breeze whilst simultaneously circulating purified air around the room. Given the popularity of Dyson's air treatment products – and having tested a fair few of them myself – I couldn't wait to properly put this one to the test.

Price and availability

The Dyson Purifier Cool PC1 is priced at £449.99 in the UK and $549.99 in the US, and is available from Dyson's online store, Amazon and Currys.

With the current heatwave taking over much of the UK, stock has been a little scarce at some retailers, but hopefully availability will improve once temperatures start to drop.

Unboxing and set up

Setting up the Cool PC1 is a very easy process. The unit arrives fully assembled, securely packaged and wrapped in protective plastic. Just make sure you remove all of this before switching it on, particularly the packaging around the base and air inlets.

If you already have the MyDyson app, getting connected is equally as straightforward. You just open the app, tap Add New Device and scan the barcode on the unit. It'll then guide you through pairing the Cool PC1 and connecting it to your home Wi-Fi network.

I'd also recommend switching on Auto mode once you're up and running. This allows the Cool PC1's onboard sensors to monitor your air quality accurately and automatically respond, rather than leaving you to adjust the airflow manually.

After that, there really isn't much else to do. The magnetic remote sits neatly on top of the purifier, whilst both the LCD display and MyDyson app keep track of filter life for you. Dyson recommends replacing the HEPA and activated carbon filter around every 12 months for optimum performance.

Design and features

The Dyson Purifier Cool PC1 is tall and slim, measuring just over a metre high and 22cm wide, with the brand's familiar bladeless amplifier loop sitting above a cylindrical purifier base. At 4.72kg, it's light enough to move between rooms when needed, although it's clearly designed to spend most of its time in one spot. The minimalist white finish and discreet LCD display keep everything looking clean and understated.

Dyson's Air Multiplier technology can project more than 290 litres of air per second, with 10 fan speeds available depending on how much airflow you need. The Cool PC1 can also oscillate through up to 350°, helping spread purified air around the room rather than firing it in one direction. You can manually adjust the airflow angle by around 10° either way as well.

Inside the base is a 360° Glass HEPA H13 and activated carbon filter. The HEPA layer captures microscopic particles such as dust and pollen, whilst the activated carbon targets odours and gases, including VOCs. Dyson says the UK model can capture 99.95% of particles as small as 0.1 microns.

The small LCD display on the front gives you real-time information without needing to reach for your phone, including air quality and filter information. I'll include a guide below explaining what all the different indicators on the screen mean as well.

A dedicated Night mode is joined by sleep timers for one, two, four or eight hours, whilst noise levels range from around 50dB on the quieter settings to 61.4dB at maximum power.

Physical controls are deliberately kept to a minimum, but you do get Dyson's familiar curved magnetic remote, which as mentioned, stores neatly on top of the machine. It gives you quick access to fan speed, oscillation, Auto mode and Night mode.

Via the MyDyson app, you can remotely adjust airflow, create schedules, set sleep timers and view current and historical indoor air quality. You can also monitor filter life and fine-tune settings such as the oscillation angle and focal point. Voice control is supported through compatible Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri devices too.

Performance

When it comes to cooling, the Dyson Purifier Cool PC1 has been a lifesaver during the recent hot weather. The 10 fan speeds give you plenty of control over how much airflow you need, although, unsurprisingly, it gets louder as you move through the higher settings. I've been sleeping with it set to around level three or four and found it impressively quiet, even without switching on Night mode.

It's undeniably a large unit, but the slim design means I've been perfectly happy leaving it in the corner of my bedroom. The 350° oscillation is also useful for spreading airflow around the entire room, whilst the remote means I can change the settings from bed without having to get up.

However, air purification has been the real highlight for me. One morning during testing, there was smoke in the area from nearby fires, and the Cool PC1 quickly picked up that the air quality wasn't where it should be. I left it running and watched the reading gradually improve over the following hour, which was a reassuring demonstration of just how responsive its sensors are.

You also don't need to know much about air purification to understand what's happening either. A quick glance at the colour-coded air quality gauge tells you most of what you need to know, with green indicating good air quality and red or purple signalling that it has some work to do.

The Cool PC1 is also incredibly easy to use, both through the controls on the unit itself and within the MyDyson app. Air quality data can quickly become overwhelming if you're unfamiliar with different pollutants and readings, but Dyson does a great job of presenting everything in a way that's clear and easy to understand.

One omission I did notice is a temperature sensor, which feels slightly surprising given that it's something you'll find on plenty of cheaper fans. Without one, the Cool PC1 can't tell you exactly how warm the room is, so there's no temperature reading to help you decide when it's time to increase or decrease the fan speed.

It wasn't a huge problem for me, as I simply relied on my Echo Show 8 to keep an eye on the room temperature instead. You could also pick up an inexpensive temperature sensor, such as IKEA's Timmerflotte, and incorporate it into your smart home setup. Depending on the ecosystem you're using, you could then use those temperature readings as part of an automation or routine for controlling the Cool PC1.

Verdict

The Dyson Purifier Cool PC1 has been a lifesaver during the recent hot weather, delivering powerful airflow whilst remaining quiet enough for me to sleep comfortably. However, it's the air purification that impressed me most. The sensors responded quickly to changes in my indoor air quality, Auto mode took care of most adjustments for me, and Dyson presents everything clearly enough that you don't need to be an air quality expert to understand what's happening. It's undeniably expensive, and the lack of a temperature sensor feels like a strange omission, but if you want excellent air purification alongside useful cooling, the Cool PC1 does both extremely well.

Alternatives to consider

If you're after a similar 2-in-1 fan and purifier, I'd recommend the Acerpure Cool Series. It combines powerful airflow with effective air purification, alongside a remote control, plenty of functionality and reasonably quiet operation – although we didn't find it quite as quiet as the Dyson.

Alternatively, if it's mainly Dyson's cooling performance you're interested in, I'm also a big fan of the Hot+Cool HF1. It's quiet, compact and combines heating and cooling in one unit, making it a particularly useful option if you want something you'll continue using long after summer is over.

In the rush to secure the best cooling appliances during the UK's soaring temperatures, it's easy to end up buying something that doesn't quite work the way you expected. Whilst the best fans are fairly straightforward, there's a lot more confusion when it comes to the best portable air conditioners and air coolers – and importantly, they're not the same thing.

Whilst air conditioners and air coolers might sound like they do a similar job, they actually work very differently. The biggest distinction is that an air conditioner actively lowers the temperature of a room, whereas an air cooler mainly creates a cooler-feeling breeze.

What's the difference between an air conditioner and an air cooler?

I've previously summarised the 3 reasons why everyone needs a portable air conditioner, but it's all to do with the way they work. A portable air conditioner uses a refrigerant and compressor to draw in warm air, cool it and push colder air back into the room. The unwanted heat is then expelled outside, usually through an exhaust hose positioned through a window. As a result, an air conditioner can reduce the temperature of a room, making it particularly effective during a heatwave.

That said, there are a few downsides. Portable air conditioners tend to be larger, louder and more expensive than air coolers, both in terms of the initial purchase price and running costs. You'll also need somewhere suitable to position the exhaust hose, which can make them a little more awkward to set up.

An air cooler, sometimes called an evaporative cooler, takes a much simpler approach. It draws warm air through water-soaked pads or a water reservoir, using evaporation to produce a cooler-feeling breeze before pushing it back into the room. Some models also allow you to add ice packs for an extra cooling boost.

However, an air cooler doesn't actively remove heat from the room in the same way an air conditioner does. It might make you feel noticeably cooler when you're sitting nearby, but you shouldn't expect it to dramatically bring down the temperature of an entire room.

Which is best?

It really depends on what you're looking for. Air coolers are generally cheaper to buy and run, and they're easier to move around. They're particularly useful in hot, dry conditions, although they can become less effective when humidity is already high because evaporative cooling adds moisture to the air.

If your priority is actually lowering the temperature of an entire room, a portable air conditioner is the clear winner. It'll cost more and require a little more setup, but it'll provide much more substantial cooling when temperatures really start to climb.

However, if you mainly want something affordable and easy to use that can provide a refreshing breeze without the installation or running costs of an air conditioner, an air cooler could make much more sense.

It doesn’t look like your traditional grinder, but it has a more modern design, including a hopper to hold the beans and a container to store the grounds.

Is £75 a bit pricey for a coffee grinder? For some, yes, but this is actually one of the more affordable models you’ll find on the market – and for espresso lovers, it’s a no-brainer.

Xiaomi could be preparing to launch its new Robot Vacuum 6 series internationally, with both the standard Robot Vacuum 6, Robot Vacuum 6 Pro and Robot Vacuum 6 Max now appearing on its global website. A number of the brand's best robot vacuums have stayed within China, so it's great to see wider availability taking place.

All three models can vacuum and mop, but it's Xiaomi's new active roller mop system that stands out, which is continuously cleaned as it moves. Xiaomi says this should result in an almost streak-free finish, particularly when tackling larger spills.

There's no official pricing or regional availability just yet, but with each model now listed globally, it looks like we shouldn't have too long to wait for more details.

The roller mop can also extend outwards to reach closer to edges and skirting boards, whilst separate side brushes sweep dry debris towards the main vacuum intake. If the robot moves onto short-pile carpet, the roller automatically lifts out of the way to avoid leaving it damp. Both the Robot Vacuum 6 and 6 Pro offer 30,000Pa of suction power, whilst the Max takes things up to 35,000Pa.

Xiaomi has also paired each model with a multifunctional base station that takes care of the maintenance. It automatically refills the robot with fresh water, washes the roller mop using hot water and then dries it with hot air afterwards.

The Robot Vacuum 6 Pro adds clever features including a retractable LiDAR navigation tower and triple-camera AI vision, but the Robot Vacuum 6 Max has a retractable dToF LiDAR that allows it to clean underneath spaces as low as 9.3cm. It also has bionic dual mechanical legs that allow it to climb over thresholds up to 6cm high, which could be particularly useful if you have raised doorways between rooms.

With yet another heatwave taking place, Blueair is back to save you from the summer heat with its latest fan launch. Expanding its Comfort collection, the new Blueair Pedestal Air Circulator Fan is built for whole-space cooling, thanks to its reach of over 100 feet – but there’s a slight catch for UK customers.

Blueair has been a bit of a saviour this summer by launching multiple models as part of its Comfort range, including its first-ever handheld fan and its quiet tabletop fan. Now, the brand is going full-sized with its new Blueair Pedestal Air Circulator Fan, and it might be my favourite model yet.

Powered by AeroSilent technology, the Blueair Pedestal Air Circulator Fan works by circulating cool air around the room by over 100 feet to bring down the temperature in as little as 40 seconds. Its high speed airflow speedily whips air around by 19 mph² and it has a wide 150° horizontal and 120° vertical oscillation to eliminate hot and cold spots.

Despite its speed, the Blueair Pedestal Air Circulator Fan can be surprisingly quiet when in action, working at under 20dB when on the lowest setting. Speaking of settings, the Blueair Pedestal Air Circulator Fan has 10 adjustable speeds to choose from, as well as auto, night and welcome home modes which can be unlocked via the Blueair app.

I’ve tested many fans during my time at T3, and I’ve never really got on board with controlling your fan via an app, since most models come with on-device controls or remotes. But the Blueair app may have changed my mind, as it comes with many handy smart features for its new Blueair Pedestal Air Circulator Fan.

The Blueair app offers standard smart features you’d expect from app control, including compatibility with Alexa and Google Home voice assistants, schedules and timers. It also allows you to switch modes, including night mode for reduced airflow and noise when you’re sleeping, and auto mode which adjusts itself according to the temperature.

A new and exciting feature is its Welcome Home mode which automatically sets your fan’s speed to make your home cool and customised to your preferences when you get home. For non-smart controls, the Blueair Pedestal Air Circulator Fan also comes with a remote control.

The design of the Blueair Pedestal Air Circulator Fan is simple and minimalist. It has touch controls on the top of the fan, and a built-in temperature sensor which you can see via its display. The fan can be adjusted to full, medium and short heights using its stand, and it comes in night charcoal, cloud linen and coastal beige colours.

The Blueair Pedestal Air Circulator Fan is available to buy for $199.99 at Blueair. As of writing, it’s not yet available in the UK – there’s the catch for UK customers who have been battling yet another heatwave – but as has been the pattern with Blueair’s fan launches this year, the brand launches in the US first before they arrive in the UK a month or so later.
