Lumie has launched its new Willow lamp, specifically designed to help get your children to sleep. Expanding its children’s lights line-up, the Lumie Willow is a nightlight and wake up light in one – and after seeing its fun Disney designs, I wish I had one when I was a kid.

Having covered wellness for years on T3, wake up lights have become my favourite products to try. I have one by my bed and use it every morning as a way to wake up more gradually and naturally, rather than being shocked away by a loud alarm.

Most wake up lights come with sunset cycles to help you wind down in the evening, which has also become a vital part of my evening routine. Lumie’s range of wake up lights have both sunrise and sunset cycles, including its new Lumie Willow which offers calming lighting, gentle cues and sunset programmes for your child.

It's not every day that Lidl drops an entire collection of Le Creuset dupes, but that's exactly what's happening tomorrow – and it's looking like it could be one of the retailer's most exciting kitchen launches of the year.

Sticking to the classic Le Creuset-inspired colours of red, orange and black, Lidl has a whole selection of casserole dishes, cast iron pans, griddle pans and, of course, the classic salt and pepper mills and mugs. Lidl Plus members can also get 10% off most of the items, making these already-cheap buys even more tempting.

I've listed all the products below, and they'll be landing in Lidl's middle aisle from tomorrow. However, if there's something in particular you're after, I'd recommend checking the stock checker before heading to your local store.

There is a moment in my conversation with Db co-founder Truls Brataas when he compares materials to people, which is not necessarily where I expect a discussion about aluminium suitcases to end up.

However, as it turns out, it neatly explains the thinking behind one of the most ambitious products the company has made. "All materials are a bit like personalities," he tells me. "Polycarbonate and aluminium, they're good at different stuff, like people."

This idea sits at the heart of the brand's aluminium suitcase collection. Db didn't want to treat the material as a more expensive replacement for polycarbonate or enter a premium luggage market already populated by several established names.

Instead, it spent around three years trying to understand what aluminium could do, where it created problems, and how Db could build a suitcase around those characteristics.

The result contains more than 300 custom components, uses an unusual rivetless construction and, according to Brataas, represents something much bigger than another luggage launch. "It really felt like a natural evolution and an accumulation of everything that we learned over years."

From ski bags to aluminium

Db is still closely associated with the ski bags that helped establish the brand, but its move into conventional luggage stretches back to 2016, when the company launched its Aviator carry-on.

"The reason we made that was that we thought that market was ready for some disruption," Brataas says. "It was ready for someone to come in and look at that category a bit differently."

Db continued learning from those early products before making a much bigger commitment with the Ramverk Pro range, which Brataas says marked the point where the company put far more engineering resources behind conventional luggage.

Aluminium was the next challenge, but much of the thinking behind it came directly from Db's experience designing for specialist travellers. "We've been working with very dedicated travellers for more than a decade from all these sports, and we learned a lot of stuff on how to develop very specific products for these needs," Brataas says.

"For us, it has been a mentality shift on not just designing for the design, but basically deeply understanding the product first before you start to make the solution."

Ditching the rivets

One of the clearest examples is repairability, because Db wanted to challenge riveted construction, something that is common across traditional aluminium luggage.

"We wanted to look into repairability because all the luggage that is out there, most of it has rivets, so it's really hard to do any kind of repair," Brataas explains. "We wanted to see if it's possible to make luggage with screws, like IKEA, where everything can be changed."

The idea sounds simple, but using screws without covering the exterior in visible fixings created a much bigger engineering problem. Db needed internal structures that each component could screw into while keeping the outside of the case clean.

"You need to start to make internal rails and stuff like that," Brataas says. "That was actually quite a big engineering challenge."

As he explained, the shell, the rivetless construction and the need to create a new slide system were some of the biggest technical hurdles of the project. "You sit there with basically an Allen key and Torx and you dismount the entire thing with just screws."

More than 300 custom components

Building Alu this way also meant Db could not simply take a collection of standard luggage parts and assemble them around an aluminium shell. "I think what is interesting is that we didn't go for any components that are off the shelf," Brataas says. "Everything that we made – except the wheels – is made by us."

Even the trolley handle was treated as part of the wider engineering project rather than a generic component, with Db creating its own profile so that it fitted neatly into the edge frame.

Brataas says the company could have taken a much quicker route using existing OEM hardware, but doing so would have gone against its usual approach. "We won't go with off-the-shelf components. We've never done it that way in this company. We always try to do original work."

That decision stretched development to around three years and meant the manufacturing process had to evolve alongside the suitcase itself. Db was trying to build something using techniques that were not already standard on existing aluminium luggage production lines.

When I ask what the team ultimately had to compromise on, Brataas is fairly unequivocal. "We didn't really do any compromises on this thing, quite honestly. We went all the way out on this one."

Aluminium has a personality of its own

Part of the difficulty came from aluminium itself, which Brataas describes as one of the toughest materials to engineer into luggage. "It is the hardest material to work with when it comes to luggage from an engineering point of view, but it also is the pinnacle challenge."

He describes aluminium as relatively soft, highly formable, and naturally lustrous, which means the way the case ages has to be considered during the design process. "It will get a patina over time, but you need to take that into the design process."

Protection was another early concern, particularly because aluminium's softness meant Db wanted to create a case that was protected across the entire structure rather than simply reinforced around the corners.

"One of the cons is that aluminium is quite soft," he says. "So how can you make luggage which has protection not only on the edges of the bag, but through the entire thing?"

Those functional demands then influenced the final shape of the suitcase. "What we do is we start with a very industrial design methodology," Brataas says. "Once you understand and start to create a form, then form will follow the function."

Red Bull meets Acne Studios

That balance between technical performance and visual appeal has been part of Db's identity from the beginning, even though adventure sports remain the most obvious reference point for many people who know the company.

Brataas sums up the original ambition using an unlikely pairing. "Our North Star in the beginning was what happens if you take Red Bull, the pinnacle of extreme sport and outdoor, and mix that with Acne Studios, the Swedish fashion brand, which is the pinnacle of Scandinavian design aesthetic, and you merge that into one thing."

"We are travellers; we do all these sports. However, we want to look good when we do it."

For much of Db's history, that meant bringing lifestyle and fashion influences into outdoor equipment, but Brataas says the direction is increasingly reversing. "What you're seeing more often is we take the outdoor into the lifestyle side."

Alu is perhaps the clearest example yet, taking knowledge accumulated through skiing, surfing, photography, and other demanding travel niches and applying it to a suitcase intended for a much broader group of people.

"We use those high niches to learn how to bring that into other segments because these are the most demanding consumers you will find," Brataas says. "If we manage to make products for them, there's a lot of learning that we can bring into the wider lifestyle as well."

A peek into Db's future

That shift raises an obvious question about what Db now wants to be, because a company producing ski bags, camera backpacks, aluminium luggage and fashion-led collaborations is increasingly difficult to put into one category.

Brataas seems perfectly happy with that. "We are one of the few brands that I know that are category independent," he says. "We can work with so many different verticals, and it's natural for the brand."

Db's co-founder describes the company as a "lifestyle luggage brand", while positioning Alu as evidence of its increasing focus on the lifestyle side and its attempt to "take the outdoor into the lifestyle".

When I ask what he wants the legacy of Alu to be five years from now, Brataas makes it clear that he sees the collection as a statement about Db itself. "Aluminium is a symbol or a peek into the future of Db, and it symbolises the premium position that we have in the bag and luggage category, and it also shows our capability."

That may ultimately be more interesting than the aluminium shell or the 300-plus custom components, because Alu shows how far Db has travelled from solving one very specific problem around carrying skis.

The same obsession with demanding users and original product design remains, but the audience and ambition are becoming considerably broader.

Samsung will soon unveil a new version of its SmartTag Bluetooth tracker, according to a report online. It is claimed that a Galaxy SmartTag 3 will arrive in October, with a new, rounder form factor. However, it's still not expected to be compatible with iOS or Apple's Find My system.

Launched for Samsung Galaxy phone owners only, the SmartTag range has traditionally even foregone support for Google's Find My Device network. It will be interesting, therefore, to see if the SmartTag 3 will break from tradition.

We don't have any technical specifications as yet, with WinFuture merely posting images of the new device ahead of time. What is clear though is that the tracker will be more like the AirTag this generation, rather than feature the elongated teardrop-style design of its predecessor.

Indeed, the new model looks more like a current Samsung Galaxy Watch, with rounded edges on a squarish body. It seems to be coming in either black or white.

WinFuture also reveals that a number of accessories will accompany the tag. The SmartTag 2 had its own, integrated keyring loop, but that'll be an added extra this time.

There will also be an official pet collar ComfortTag case, according to the leak.

As for pricing, the site states that the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 3 should retail for $29.99, with a four-pack expected to be available for $99.99. That's less than the existing SmartTag 2, which is currently listed on the UK Samsung store for £34 apiece.

It's hard therefore to pin down exact price points for different regions based on the information we have so far. Local taxes and duties can play an effect.

Hopefully, we'll find out for sure soon, with the device said to be hitting the market next month. That means Samsung could formally announce it in the next couple of weeks.

I’ve gone through many different vacuum cleaners over the years, and I still have yet to find my perfect model. But the vacuum brand that I consistently go back to is Shark.

I’ve had many Shark vacuums over the years, including upright, stick and handheld models, and the Shark PowerDetect Transformer is a combination of all three in one device. This latest vacuum from Shark is designed to clean all floor types, be easy to maneuver from floor to floor, and get underneath furniture and into corners.

While it’ll take a lot for me to go back to a corded, upright vacuum cleaner, the Shark PowerDetect Transformer may have changed my mind. I spent three weeks testing it, and this is how I got on.

Shark PowerDetect Transformer review: unboxing and setup

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer arrived in a large cardboard box, disassembled and wrapped in paper bags and sticky packaging. Putting it together was extremely easy and took just a few minutes. An instructional manual was in the box but the entire process was very self-explanatory so it wasn’t all that needed.

First, I inserted the anti-odour box into the main brush head which consisted of me lining up the arrows and clicking and locking it into place. From there, I clicked the main stick pole into the brush head, and slid the large bin onto the front, before attaching the handle.

As a corded vacuum cleaner, the Shark PowerDetect Transformer has a long eight metre power cord. It came with a duster crevice tool, stair tool, HairPro Pet Power Brush and an Anti-Allergen Dusting Brush which clips onto the handheld part of the machine.

Shark PowerDetect Transformer review: design and features

When fully assembled in its upright position, the Shark PowerDetect Transformer measures 117.2cm in height, 28.5cm in depth and 30.6cm in width. It weighs 8kg with the main 1.3-litre bin attached which I found to be extremely heavy. It felt significantly lighter when in stick mode.

As a 3-in-1 device, the Shark PowerDetect Transformer offers upright, stick and handheld cleaning. To convert it from upright to stick, simply unclip the main bin, and then the vacuum can fold down to clean underneath furniture. For handheld, remove the main wand, and attach accessories for cleaning your car, the stairs, and hard-to-reach spots.

Each ‘mode’ is designed for different cleaning tasks. As an upright vacuum, the Shark PowerDetect Transformer is best for cleaning carpets as it has a stronger suction, while stick is easier to carry and get into difficult areas. Handheld is even better at that, and is good for smaller, more controlled cleaning tasks, like getting into the crevices of your car seats.

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer has an intelligent brush head with Anti-Hair Wrap technology to avoid tangles, and an LED light to illuminate dirt. The controls for the Shark PowerDetect Transformer are on the handle, including on/off and floor type, but the vacuum responds to floors itself with its detection technologies.

Shark has given the PowerDetect Transformer four different detection technologies, including direction, floor, edge and dirt. Direction senses how you’re moving the vacuum and will change its suction to forward or backward, while floor detects the floor type and adjusts its power. Edge senses corners, and dirt boosts power when it recognises different types and levels of dirt.

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer actually has two bins – the main large bin at the front and a smaller bin at the top, just underneath the handle. The main bin collects dirt while in upright mode, but when you take it off for stick or handheld, the smaller bin collects debris.

To empty the smaller bin, keep the Shark PowerDetect Transformer on and clip the main bin back onto the vacuum. The bin will then automatically empty into the main bin so you don’t have to empty two bins. It also has HEPA filtration and anti-allergen seal technology to trap dirt, allergens and dust, and prevent odours.

Shark PowerDetect Transformer review: performance

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer hasn’t been out for very long, but I think it’s one of Shark’s most intelligent designs. It offers three cleaning types in one, and does it with a quick and simple assembly system. Clipping the main bin on and off was simple, mess-free and took no time at all.

The controls at the top of the Shark PowerDetect Transformer were easy to use, although with its detection technologies, I rarely needed to use them. The vacuum and brush head immediately recognised different levels of dust and dirt, and I could hear it boost its power when it noticed these things which I really appreciated.

While cleaning, I found the Shark PowerDetect Transformer to work expertly on both hardwood and carpets. The LED light at the front was very bright – I’d go as far to say you could clean with the lights off and still see what you were doing! Its suction power was incredibly impressive, and it sucked up dirt quickly and effectively on single passes.

One area I found the Shark PowerDetect Transformer struggled with was dust. I noticed that it often just pushed dust around rather than hoovering it up, so it took several passes before it got everything. However, the vacuum got into corners and edges nicely.

The handheld mode was good, and its attachments were well made. It cleaned my stairs extremely well, although I found it hard to remove the accessories at times. The stick vacuum was helpful, especially to get low to the floor, and to carry the vacuum up and down my stairs. The length of the cord is generous, so while cordless is preferred, I didn’t find it to be limiting.

My main issue with the Shark PowerDetect Transformer is its weight. As an upright model, it’s extremely heavy and I felt like I really had to push it around, especially on carpet. It was slightly easier to maneuver on hardwood, but some people will struggle with it – it felt like I was doing an arm workout! It’s not the quietest, either.

Shark PowerDetect Transformer review: verdict

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer is undeniably a very clever and useful 3-in-1 vacuum cleaner. Having three cleaning options in one device makes cleaning your entire house – carpet, hardwood, stairs, furniture, car, and any other nooks and crannies – an absolute doddle.

The bin of the Shark PowerDetect Transformer was my favourite part. Having two separate bins meant you could transform the vacuum into different modes, while only having to empty one bin, and it kept everything hygienic and allergen-free. Stick mode was definitely my favourite as it took some serious weight off, and got into tricky areas and under furniture.

Its weight is the main issue for me, but the good thing is you can choose to use the Shark PowerDetect Transformer just as a stick and handheld, and only make it upright to empty the bin. Its noise will be loved by parents who vacuum to wake you up, but in general, it is quite loud when in use and when emptying. Its dust pick-up could be better, too.

Overall, though, I enjoyed using the Shark PowerDetect Transformer, and it’s become my ‘upstairs’ vacuum, as it expertly cleans both my carpet and hardwood on those floors.

Shark PowerDetect Transformer review: alternatives to consider

If upright is your bag, the Hoover H-Upright 300 Pets is a great corded vacuum cleaner that’s extremely lightweight. There’s plenty of cable to go around, and it expertly cleans up pet and human hair, as well as other dirt and debris.

Another upright model – but this one is cordless – is the Gtech AirRAM Platinum. It’s extremely slim, and offers an excellent performance across all floor types. Its LED headlights are like Shark’s, and it also has a clever bin-emptying system.

Finally, if you’re a Shark fan but want an upright cordless model, the Shark FreeStyle Pro is light, easy to carry and despite its clunky bin, it turns corners well and gets into tricky spaces.

Drayton has expanded its smart home range with a new 2nd Gen smart radiator thermostat, giving homeowners more control over the temperature in individual rooms. It joins Wiser's growing Matter-enabled smart home lineup, including the Wiser 2nd Gen HubR, which we reviewed back in April.

Building on the original model, the new thermostat brings several upgrades, including quieter operation, improved battery flexibility and wider compatibility with existing radiator valves. It also has an upgraded motor, which brings operating noise down to just 19dB(A), making it a great fit for bedrooms and other quieter areas of the home.

The Wiser 2nd Gen Radiator Thermostat is available now in white or anthracite, directly from Drayton or selected retailers for £59.99 – around $80.

The thermostat can run on the included AA alkaline batteries, which Drayton says can last for more than two years, or Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries. It's also compatible with radiator valves from a range of major manufacturers, which makes installation straightforward.

There's also a physical Boost control on the thermostat itself, which you can activate by twisting the cap towards the plus symbol to increase the temperature by 2°C for one hour.

For more control, you can use the Wiser Home app to manage individual rooms and create heating schedules. Drayton says its multi-zone heating system could save users up to 30% on their annual energy bills, although your actual savings will depend on how you use your heating.

The thermostat is also Zigbee certified, allowing it to connect to the wider Wiser smart heating system. As part of Wiser's Matter-enabled ecosystem, compatible products can also be brought into platforms including Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings.

Ugreen has launched a new range of smart home products at IFA 2026, including an AI-powered home hub designed to control storage, security and smart home control in one place. It marks a move beyond the best power banks and charging accessories the brand is best known for.

The new Ugreen HomeAgent sits in the middle of the lineup, combining NAS-style storage and computing with smart home controls. It can connect to Ugreen's own AIoT devices, as well as other Matter-compatible products, giving users a single place to manage their connected home.

The HomeAgent range is available to pre-order ahead of the Kickstarter campaign, which launches on 27th October. Customers can currently place a deposit to reserve a device, with Ugreen offering a 50% super early bird discount. Other AIoT products are also expected to join the Kickstarter campaign when it goes live.

Users can also interact with HomeAgent using natural language, allowing you to manage files, control connected devices and automate parts of your home without having to jump between different apps.

HomeAgent is built around local storage and on-device AI, meaning Ugreen says your data can stay at home rather than being sent entirely to cloud-based services. That's particularly interesting for things like security camera footage and personal photos.

The wider HomeAgent lineup includes the HA100 and HA100 Pro, as well as the more powerful MasterAgent MA100, which is powered by NVIDIA's Jetson Thor platform. They're joined by SynCare smart cameras, the Ugreen Smart Speaker for Uliya and Ugreen Gallery smart frames, creating a wider ecosystem of connected home products around the hub.

IFA 2026 may have taken place a week ago, but new product releases just keep coming! Haier announced a huge range of large and small appliances at the event, including a three model vacuum cleaner line-up, but it’s the brand’s newest oven that has got me excited.

Despite the rise of air fryers, ovens are having a resurgence, mainly due to the introduction of AI. I’ll be honest, I think it’s slightly ridiculous to have AI in appliances as it’s not always necessary or really saving you time, but Haier’s new ID Ultimate Series 6 Oven could potentially change my mind.

The new Haier ID Series 6 range are built-in large appliances, including an oven, induction hob and extractor hood. Designed to enhance your food preparation and cooking experience, the collection can be bought together as a whole kitchen solution or separately.

The Haier ID Ultimate Series 6 Oven immediately caught my attention when it was introduced at IFA. With its sleek, minimalist design, the Haier ID Ultimate Series 6 Oven has a PartLight light bar at the front which flashes blue to show you the status of your oven, and its cooking progress.

Inside the Haier ID Ultimate Series 6 Oven is its AI Vision internal camera. When you put food inside it, the camera recognises food and monitors its cooking. Once cooked, the Haier ID Ultimate Series 6 Oven stops the cooking programme to prevent burning and so you can serve your food at the perfect temperature and texture.

With its 78-litre capacity, the Haier ID Ultimate Series 6 Oven has a lot of room inside, including seven different shelf levels. The oven also has a Pure Flavour Steam setting and sous-vide programme, so you can steam and cook foods at lower temperatures to preserve its flavours, textures and moisture levels.

Moving on to the hob, the ID Hob Series 6 is dubbed by Haier as a ‘fully active induction hob’. The surface can cater for up to six pots and pans, and it automatically recognises where you put them to deliver precise power. It also has a Power Follows the Pan feature, so you can move your pan to a different position, and the cooking settings follow it.

The ID Series 6 range is expected to launch soon at Haier.

Stihl has launched the RCA 50, a new battery-powered pressure washer designed for smaller cleaning jobs around the home and garden. It's aimed at everything from washing the car to cleaning garden furniture, making it ideal if you're looking for the best pressure washer that you can easily move around.

Weighing just 2.3kg, the RCA 50 delivers up to 100 bar of pressure, whilst still being lightweight. You can connect it directly to a water supply, or switch to suction mode and use the supplied five-metre suction hose with a water butt or another collected water source.

The Stihl RCA 50 is available now from Stihl directly and approved dealers, with an RRP of £209 (around $280) for the tool only. The battery and charger are sold separately, although you can also buy them together as a starter set.

It comes with a 3-in-1 nozzle that lets you switch between rotary, flat-jet and narrow-jet settings, whilst the water pressure can be adjusted continuously depending on what you're cleaning.

Stihl also includes a useful selection of accessories, including a surface cleaner with wheels and a steering function for cleaning patios and other smooth surfaces with less splashing. There's also a spray lance and cleaning agent spray set.

The pressure washer runs on Stihl's AK 20 36V lithium-ion battery, offering up to 15 minutes of runtime on a full charge. The battery is part of Stihl's interchangeable AK System, so the same battery can be used with other compatible garden tools.

Acqua di Parma has expanded its Signatures of the Sun collection with a new men’s fragrance which smells good enough to eat. Available in multiple forms, the new Acqua di Parma Cedro Virtuoso smells like summer in a bottle, and it’s making me want to hold on to summer a little while longer.

Alongside the cedarwood and hazelnut is Calabrian bergamot which gives Acqua di Parma Cedro Virtuoso a bright hint of freshness, while also adding extra warmth to the wood and nut that makes the base of the fragrance. It comes in Acqua di Parma’s signature bottle design that will look great next to your other brand fragrances.

My husband is a big fan of Acqua di Parma fragrances, and they always remind me of summertime, so I can’t wait for him to try this one.

Morphy Richards is the latest manufacturer to join the smart kettle party with the recent launch of its new Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle. It can connect to your Alexa app or Echo smart speaker, so you can ask Alexa to boil the kettle, schedule timings and adjust the temperature.

The Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle looks like an ordinary kettle for all intents and purposes. It has a matt black colour with a 360° cordless base, but where it differs is its LED touchscreen display which you can manually adjust and check your boil’s progress.

With six temperature settings to choose from, the Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle can be boiled between 40°C and 100°C, depending on the drink you’re making. It has a generous 1.5-litre capacity, and a digital water level indicator which shows you how much water you have in the kettle.

But as a smart kettle, the best part of the Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle is its smart controls. Being able to say “Alexa, boil the kettle” is a game changer, especially if you want to save yourself time waiting around – a watched pot never boils, after all!

With the Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle, you can also use your voice to set schedules and temperatures. For example, you can say “Alexa, boil the kettle at 7pm” and it’ll do this for you at exactly the time you’ve requested, or you can say “Alexa, set the temperature to 80°C” to get the right heat for your drink.

Other handy features of the Morphy Richards Halo 1.5L Alexa Kettle is its keep warm function which will keep your water hot for up to an hour after boiling. It’s a great appliance to add to your smart home ecosystem, especially if you’re an Alexa user, and it’s sure to become a big part of your morning routine.

Govee has barely finished showing off its latest smart home products at IFA 2026, and another one has already leaked. The Govee Outdoor Classic Wall Light has appeared in a new CSA listing, revealing that the upcoming outdoor light will support Matter.

The Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 Pro was the brand's only outdoor product at last week's launch, so it's nice to see Govee already has another outdoor light on the way. The new Outdoor Classic Wall Light will also join Govee's existing outdoor lighting range, including the Govee Outdoor UpDown Wall Light, which arrived late last year,

As usual with these database leaks, there's no word on pricing or availability just yet, but we'll let you know as soon as we hear more.

The CSA listing describes the new light as being designed for installation on an outdoor porch, and it looks set to offer a mix of white and coloured lighting effects. As you'd expect from Govee, users should also be able to customise the lighting through the Govee Home app.

The listing confirms support for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, as well as Matter 1.5, although there are still plenty of details we don't know. There's no image to view, nor any information on the light's brightness, design or exact dimensions, so we'll have to wait for a proper launch to find out more.

Developed in collaboration with Ecovacs, Bosch has launched its new Built-In Vacuum and Mop Robot, designed to integrate both the robot and its docking station directly into kitchen cabinetry.

The system is designed to fit in or next to a sink base cabinet and can be installed by a trained kitchen installer. Bosch says it's being introduced across more than 400 independent kitchen retailers in the UK and Ireland.

The built-in model is part of Bosch's new UK robot vacuum range, which also includes standalone models for anyone who doesn't want an integrated option. Bosch hasn't officially announced a price for the built-in model yet, although it's currently listed by Wellingtons Electrical for £2,790 (around $3,777), so that gives us a rough idea of what to expect.

This isn't the first built-in robot vacuum we've seen, but it's one of the more notable examples to actually reach mainstream retail. LG also launched a robot vacuum with a built-in station last year, although it still isn't available to buy.

Once it's finished cleaning, the Bosch robot automatically returns to its station, where it empties its dust box, cleans and dries its mopping pads, and recharges. The station connects directly to fresh water, wastewater and power, and can wash the mops with 75°C hot water and dry them with 45°C hot air. It also dispenses floor-cleaning detergent and cleans the station itself.

It features 20,000Pa of suction power, making it Bosch's most powerful robot vacuum to date. At just 84mm high, it's designed to get underneath furniture and into trickier areas, whilst it can also cross barriers of up to 20mm, including door thresholds.

You can control the robot through the Home Connect app, with options to adjust floor plans, create no-go zones and set cleaning routines. It also supports multi-floor mapping across up to three floors.

At IFA 2026, Dreame announced its latest flagship robot vacuum cleaner, and it looks like the brand’s most advanced model yet. The new Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete has been upgraded with better mapping and climbing technology, and it comes with a clever steam cleaning feature.

Robot vacuum cleaners have gotten extremely advanced over the years, with many even being able to climb the stairs – terrifying, I know. But the Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete marks a serious milestone as it’s one of the first robot vacuum-mops that can steam clean your floors.

Previously, if a robot vacuum had a steam function, it didn’t directly steam the floor. Instead, its base station used steam to wash and sanitise its mop pads after cleaning. In comparison, the Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete can actually steam your floors by releasing up to 180°C of steam through four outlets on the roller edge.

The steaming function of the Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete is designed for spot cleaning. It’s best for loosening dried-on stains before the roller head completely removes and cleans the floor using hot water. It also uses steam to self-clean at 100°C.

For vacuuming, the Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete has 40,000 Pa suction power, and a new HyperSteam Detangling Floor Brush 2.0. The updated brush head uses a combination of rubber and crystal brushes to collect large dirt and dust in different sized spaces.

To separate its vacuuming and mopping, the Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete has a Triple Tech Hub that lifts the brushes and mops up to 15mm when needed. It can also extend its mop rollers to 8cm for edge cleaning.

Speaking of lifting, the Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete can climb steps and thresholds up to 10cm, thanks to its ProLeap Obstacle Clearance technology. Its mapping and detection is also better than before. Powered by OmniSense 4.0, the robot vac-mop uses X-Vision dual AI cameras and VersaLink navigation to map your home.

During cleaning, the AI cameras adapt to your environment so it can react to moving objects, and can even re-route in real-time. The Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete can also recognise over 320 different objects, some even as small as 1cm.

Dreame states that this new robot vacuum-mop has a four hour runtime, although its battery life is notably smaller when using the steam function. This limits the Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete runtime to around 40 minutes. To switch this off, you’ll need to manually do this in the app.

The Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete is expected to launch in select European countries on September 21st. As of writing, UK and US availability has yet to be confirmed and pricing is also being kept under wraps.

Philips Smart Lighting has launched its new Screen Sync, just days after the Philips Hue Play Screen Syncarrived. It essentially brings the Screen Sync concept to Philips' cheaper smart lighting range, but crucially, has a strip light that comes included in the box.

Just like the Hue version, the Philips Smart Lighting Screen Sync uses a fisheye lens to capture the full TV screen from edge to edge and read its colours in real time. Those colours are then recreated using a four-sided RGBIC strip light mounted behind the TV.

There will be two versions depending on your TV size. The 40-50-inch kit costs £79.99/€89.99, whilst the 55-65-inch version costs £99.99/€109.99. Each kit includes both the Screen Sync device and the corresponding strip light, so there's no need to buy any components separately.

In terms of installation, you simply position the Screen Sync device on top of your TV and start the calibration process in the app. It automatically aligns its anchor points with the edges of the screen, although you can make manual adjustments afterwards if needed.

There are several preset sync modes to adjust the effect depending on what you're watching, whilst a built-in microphone can also make the lights react to music.

If you want to take the effect beyond the TV, you can add compatible Philips Smart Lighting bulbs, lightstrips and lamps around the room. That includes a number of products launched back in May, so you can build out the setup without having to stick to the strip light behind the TV.

Apple didn’t announce a new HomePod or the rumoured Home Hub at today’s keynote, but that doesn’t mean the home was absent from the story. In fact, there was enough talk around hubs, intelligence and Siri to suggest that Apple’s ambitions for the home are still very much alive – and perhaps getting closer to becoming a reality.

The biggest clue came during Apple’s iPhone presentation, when John Ternus described the iPhone as an “intelligent personal hub.” That wording is particularly interesting given Apple’s existing use of “hub” in the smart home, where HomePod, HomePod mini and Apple TV provide the central infrastructure for HomeKit and Matter devices.

It gets even more interesting when you look at Apple’s push to make Siri dramatically more capable. A future Home Hub would need exactly that – especially a persistent interface for controlling and understanding what’s happening around the home.

There had been plenty of rumours ahead of today about new smart home hardware, including a HomePod update and a Home Hub device, yet neither appeared on stage. That doesn’t necessarily mean those products have been cancelled, especially when there are signs that Apple is still building the software foundation they would need.

There was an interesting reminder of that from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman earlier today. Before the keynote, he wrote: “If you don't see the Apple TV, HomePod mini, home display and touch MacBook today, don't worry. It's only September,” suggesting that the October event could be the one to watch.

As a huge fan of the original CryoGlow LED face mask, it's safe to say I was incredibly excited when the new Shark CryoGlow Clinic Face + Body was announced. It takes everything I loved about the original and expands it beyond the face, with the new system designed to target eight areas associated with signs of ageing and skin stress.

I've been using my own Clinic Face + Body for the last four weeks, and whilst that's a little shorter than the testing period I normally give the best LED face masks, I've already got a good reason for sharing my verdict now – and I'll get to that shortly. The timing also happens to work nicely, as the new system is available to buy from today.

Price and availability

The Shark CryoGlow Clinic Face + Body is priced at £549.99 and is now available from Shark's online store, as well as Sephora, John Lewis and Argos. If you already own an LED setup and don't want to buy the whole system, you can also pick up the face mask on its own for £379.99 or the body panel for £249.99.

It's not available in the US just yet, but we'll update this review when it is. Shark has also confirmed that additional colours will follow later this year.

Design and features

As mentioned, the Shark CryoGlow Clinic Face + Body System expands the original CryoGlow concept beyond the face, combining a structured LED face mask with a separate flexible body panel. The system currently comes in White Gold, with the face mask using Shark's structured GlowShell design, which positions the LEDs away from the skin to help distribute the light across the treatment area. Shark says the new system delivers twice the power of its predecessor, with red, blue and deep infrared light used across its different treatment routines.

The biggest design change is the new ArcFlex body panel. Rather than being a rigid panel designed for one specific area, it can bend around the contours of your body, allowing you to use it across areas including the neck, chest and back, before reshaping it to treat your hands. That flexibility is a big part of what makes the Clinic Face + Body different from most of the LED devices I've tested.

The mask also brings back InstaChill cooling technology, which was one of my favourite things about the original CryoGlow. This time, Shark has added a new Dual-Temp Restore mode, which alternates between hot and cold under-eye therapy. The idea is to combine warming and cooling to support circulation and help reduce the appearance of puffiness around the eyes.

When it comes to treatments, there are 17 routine combinations covering anti-ageing, blemish-clearing and everyday skin maintenance. You can combine the main LED treatments with the under-eye modes, whilst the blue-light treatment is designed specifically for targeting blemishes.

Performance

The biggest surprise for me with the Shark CryoGlow Clinic Face + Body is just how much better it feels than the original. Obviously, having the option to treat more areas is a huge part of that, but Shark has also made lots of little changes to how the whole thing works, which really add up when you're using it regularly.

For example, the remote now comes with a charging stand as a standard, and you can actually see your treatment progress and keep track of how many sessions you've completed. This makes it so much easier to stick with a routine, and quickly becomes the kind of upgrade you might not think you need until you've used it.

The mask itself feels roughly the same in terms of weight, but Shark has added cushioned sections around the eyes, which makes it more comfortable to wear. The body panel is comfortable too, with a single strap that sits easily around your neck and makes it simple to position across the different treatment areas.

I was also really impressed by the remote. It's slightly larger than the one that came with the original, but I love that Shark has kept the treatment settings familiar. You don't have to remember which LED colour is supposed to do what or spend ages working out which combination you need – you just select the treatment you want and get on with it.

It's also clever enough to recognise whether you're using the mask and body panel together or just one of them, and adjusts the options you're shown accordingly. You can combine different treatment modes across the mask and panel too, which provides plenty of flexibility.

The Dual-Temp Restore mode is another feature I've really enjoyed. After seeing how much I liked using warm and cold compresses around the eyes with the Therabody Theraface Depuffing Wand, I was particularly pleased to see Shark introduce something similar here. The alternating hot and cold treatment feels lovely around the eyes, and I like that it can either be incorporated into your LED routine or as a separate treatment.

Once you've selected which parts of the system you're using, your treatment mode and whether you want to add Dual-Temp Restore or InstaChill for the under-eye area, the remote gives you a quick confirmation screen showing exactly what you've selected and how long the treatment will take.

As I mentioned at the beginning, I've been testing the CryoGlow Clinic Face + Body for four weeks. That's slightly shorter than the six to eight weeks I would normally like to spend testing an LED face mask, but it's because I started seeing results really quickly.

If you've read my other reviews, you'll know that fine lines aren't a huge concern for me just yet. At 27, I'm much more interested in using beauty tech as a preventative measure and trying to keep my skin looking its best for as long as possible. That makes the other benefits of LED therapy particularly interesting to me, and in this case, it was the anti-blemish treatment and overall glow that really caught my attention.

After around two weeks of consistent use, I noticed that some of the trickier areas of my face looked noticeably clearer, as well as the skin across my chest. The difference appeared faster than I experienced with the original CryoGlow, which was a really encouraging sign given how early I was into testing the new system.

I'm going to keep tracking the anti-ageing results, particularly on my hands, because that's one of the areas I'm most interested to see change over a longer period. Four weeks isn't long enough for me to make a meaningful judgement on those results, but the fact that I've already noticed improvements in clarity and glow has made me very optimistic about continuing with the system.

I did find myself wishing there weren't two cables, although I'm not really sure how Shark could have done it differently, especially when the system needs to know which devices you're using and which ones you're not. You can end up with a bit of a tangle occasionally, but if you're like me and use your LED face mask before bed whilst sitting still, it's really not much of an issue.

Verdict

After four weeks with the Shark CryoGlow Clinic Face + Body, I'm incredibly impressed. I already loved the original, but this feels like a brilliant upgrade rather than simply a bigger version, especially with the extra treatment areas, improved remote and clever progress tracking. I've also already noticed clearer-looking skin and a really nice glow, which appeared sooner than I expected. I still want to give the anti-ageing side more time, but based on what I've seen so far, this is easily one of the most impressive and versatile LED systems I've tested.

Alternatives to consider

There's nothing quite like the Shark CryoGlow Clinic Face + Body on the market at the moment, particularly when it comes to flexibility. However, that doesn't mean you should automatically rule out the original Shark CryoGlow, as it's still a very capable option that can often be found at a much lower price.

The CurrentBody LED Red Light Therapy Face Mask Series 2 is another option worth considering, particularly if you want to extend your treatment beyond your face. It can be bought with a separate neck kit, with CurrentBody claiming a 30% reduction in wrinkles and a 57% improvement in plumpness after eight weeks.

At IFA 2026, Levoit unveiled its new smart air purifier, specifically designed to create a cleaner and calmer environment in your home. Where the new Levoit Eleva 300X Smart Air Purifier really shines is in the bedroom, as it works efficiently yet quietly to clean the air around you without disrupting your sleep.

What impressed me the most about the Levoit Eleva 300X Smart Air Purifier is its speed. According to Levoit, the air purifier can clean the air in your home in just 12 minutes up to 272m³/h. It has three modes – Daily Comfort, Focused Care and Advanced Care – and an Adaptive Start function which automatically purifies when it detects declines in your air quality.

Within the Levoit Eleva 300X is HEPA and carbon filters which make up its DuoShield dual-filter system. The filters can be used together or separately to capture different particles, odours and bacteria in the air. The interior also has a MaxSeal airflow design which locks these allergens inside so they don’t get released back into the air.

Air purifiers can get quite loud, but Levoit has adapted its Eleva 300X air purifier to work as quietly as possible, especially when in Sleep Mode. After studying sleep air trends, Levoit found that the air quality in your bedroom can impact your rest and recovery, so it developed the Eleva 300X to improve your sleeping environment without disturbing you.

When in Sleep Mode, the Levoit Eleva 300X operates at just 19dB and switches off its display lights. At its loudest, it operates at 50dB but Levoit claims that it’s quiet enough for daily use in all rooms, including your bedroom. Even at night, the Levoit Eleva 300X automatically responds to the air in your room when particle levels change.

As a smart device, the Levoit Eleva 300X is compatible with the VeSync app. It uses AI insights from Levoit’s Data Lab to monitor and report on air quality in real-time. Its Sleep Air Trends section is its most impressive feature, as it allows you to create your own sleep schedule, and track changes in your air quality overnight which may have affected your sleep.

Having used a fan and air purifier hybrid overnight for the past few months, the Levoit Eleva 300X definitely appeals to me. The hotter weather left my bedroom feeling stuffy but my fan-purifier helped make the air more comfortable and clean, while also showing me the different levels of temperature, humidity and air quality throughout the night.

While I’ve loved using my fan-purifier, it definitely made my room sound like a wind turbine, so a quiet option like the Levoit Eleva 300X sounds much better. The Levoit Eleva 300X Smart Air Purifier is available to buy for £159.99 at Levoit.

Shelly launched a number of new products at IFA 2026 last week, including two new smart sensors, but one of the most exciting announcements was actually an update coming to its Wall Display family.

The Wall Display X1i, X2i, XL, U1, S1, S2 and XT are getting a free Matter update that will make compatible models both a Matter controller and a Matter device. Essentially, this means the Wall Display can bring compatible smart home products from different brands together on one screen, making it much easier to control everything from a single place.

The Matter functionality will arrive as a free over-the-air update with firmware 2.8.0. First-generation Wall Display and Wall Display X2 models will also be able to control Matter devices shared from a newer compatible Wall Display, but thread-based Matter devices will still require a Thread Border Router.

You also won't need a separate Matter hub or bridge to add supported devices to the Wall Display. Once connected, Matter products can be included in Shelly's local scenes and automations, meaning a smart sensor or smart light from another brand can be used alongside Shelly devices in the same routines.

The update works the other way around, too. The Wall Display itself can become a Matter device, allowing features such as its relays, dimming and thermostat controls to be used through platforms including Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings and Home Assistant.

The Wall Display can also be connected to multiple Matter ecosystems whilst still acting as a central point for controlling devices from different manufacturers.

As Shelly CEO Dimitar Dimitrov puts it: “Making the Wall Display a Matter controller and a Matter device at the same time means it can bring every brand in the house onto one screen.”

After a few months of waiting, Lavazza has finally launched its Tablì coffee machine in the UK. Expanding its line-up of pod coffee machines, the real star of the new Lavazza Tablì coffee system is its coffee ‘tabs’ which, unlike normal pods or capsules, have absolutely no plastic, and are instead made of 100% coffee.

I’ve tested many pod coffee machines in my time as T3’s Home Editor, and have always championed them as being a quick, easy and convenient way to make your morning coffee. My one negative about these types of machines is its pod waste. While most can be recycled, they still generate a lot of plastic and aluminium waste.

Lavazza has clearly thought of this, and ‘invented’ a new type of coffee pod to go with its new Lavazza Tablì single serve, capsule-free coffee machine. Instead of a pod, it uses a coffee tab made entirely of coffee without any protective coating or binders.

The Lavazza Tablì is specifically designed to use this type of coffee tab so you get the full flavour and aroma in each cup. Once brewed, the coffee tab can be disposed of with your food waste instead of ending up in landfill like older types of coffee pods.

The design of the Lavazza Tablì is similar to its other pod coffee machines. Available in white, black or brown, it has a bean-shaped slider and piston system which allows you to easily and quickly insert and remove each coffee tab. It also comes with Wi-Fi support so you can connect it to other compatible devices in your smart home via Alexa or Google Home.

The Lavazza Tablì has an intelligent brewing system which is best at making espresso, double espresso and lungo. The machine uses Lavazza’s Crema Plus technology to expertly brew your coffee to bring out the coffee’s flavours and create a crema on top of your drink.

When asked about the Lavazza Tablì, Emanuele Pellegrino, Regional Director of Lavazza UK & Nordics said “Tablì represents a major breakthrough not only for Lavazza, but for the coffee industry as a whole. By combining a 100% coffee tab with a specially designed machine and unique brewing technology, we are introducing an entirely new product category and a coffee experience that, until now, simply didn’t exist on the market.”

The Lavazza Tablì is available to buy for £199 / $129 at Lavazza. Its coffee tabs start at £5.49 for 12 single doses.

The crowded halls of the Messe were filled with all sorts of interesting products this year, from cutting-edge (quite literally) robot lawn mowers to whole-home AI ecosystems. However, amongst all the new launches, there was one product that particularly caught my attention, and if I'm being honest, I didn’t expect it to.

Robot window cleaners have never been something I’ve been completely convinced by. In my mind, cleaning windows is one of those jobs that can be done quickly with some window cleaner and a bit of elbow grease. The best robot vacuums, on the other hand, can take care of one of the most time-consuming household chores, so I’ve always found their window-cleaning counterparts a little harder to justify.

That was until I saw the new Ecovacs Winbot W2S Pro Omni in action.

First unveiled in April, the W2S Pro Omni brings a few upgrades that make it a much more convincing option. Most notably, cleaning efficiency has been improved by up to 46% compared to previous models, thanks in part to its three-nozzle wide-spray system.

The system creates a fine pre-treatment mist that helps loosen stains before the cleaning pad even makes contact with the glass. This means the robot can tackle dirt before it starts wiping, helping it clean the surface more thoroughly in a single pass.

It also comes with a 12-step protection system designed to keep the robot securely attached to the window whilst it works. Its 120ml water tank can cover up to 75m² on a single fill, making it particularly useful for larger windows, French doors and skylights where repeatedly stopping to refill would quickly become a pain.

Navigation has also been upgraded with WIN-SLAM 4.0, which is designed to map different window layouts and navigate around obstacles such as handles and locks. There’s also a 5,200mAh battery, offering up to 110 minutes of cordless cleaning, but the station can also be connected directly to AC power for longer cleaning sessions.

The W2S Pro Omni looked far more premium than I anticipated, with a neutral fabric-covered design that I imagine will be very popular. It was also lightweight enough to carry between different windows, which makes the idea of using it throughout the house feel much more practical.

The Ecovacs Winbot W2S Pro Omni is available now for £529 via Amazon UK and Ecovacs' online store. It will also be available from retailers including Very and Harvey Norman in the UK, whilst US customers can buy it through Amazon US for $599.99.

IFA 2026 took place last week, and it’s the time of year when huge appliance manufacturers announce a whole host of new products and collections – and this year, Haier is no exception.

Haier has announced a massive new line-up of appliances, including fridge freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers and coffee machines. But something I was most surprised to see from Haier was its new vacuum cleaner line-up, called the I-Pro Clean Series 5.

Within the range are upright, cordless and robot vacuum models, all of which are designed for specific cleaning needs, like floor types, different stains and dirt. One characteristic which ties the Haier I-Pro Clean Series 5 together is its Double Roller system.

Haier’s Double Roller technology features two motorised rollers which work together during cleaning, including forward and backward motion. The counter-rotating rollers capture and pick up more dirt while also reducing the amount of passes the vacuum does over the same surface.

The first model from the Haier I-Pro Clean Series 5 range is the Haier I-Pro Clean M5. This cordless vacuum cleaner has up to 250 air watts of suction power and uses an integrated sensor to detect and monitor dirt, and adjust the vacuum’s power for an efficient clean.

The design of the Haier I-Pro Clean M5 is simple, with a large bin at the top of the vacuum, and a display at the top for the controls. It also shows you real-time feedback as you clean. It has a flexible tube design which allows it to get under furniture, and it has up to 100 minutes of runtime.

Within its bin, the Haier I-Pro Clean M5 has a HEPA 13 filter and a five-stage separation system which captures dust and other small particles. Its self-emptying station also works to prevent these allergens and bacteria from getting back into the air, and has advanced plasma disinfection technology to keep itself clean, as well as your floors.

In terms of robots, the Haier I-Pro Clean R5 has up to 22,000 Pa suction power, and combines its Double Roller system with a roller mop for both vacuuming and mopping. Its mop can extend and lift to avoid carpet, and it thoroughly cleans multiple surfaces of dirt, dust and stains.

The Haier I-Pro Clean R5 has an LDS navigation system with an AI camera that makes maps, detects and avoids obstacles, and recognises dirt. It comes with a docking station that charges, empties and washes and dries itself.

Finally, Haier is taking on the Dyson Wash G1 with its own floor washer. The Haier I-Pro Clean Z5 uses its Double Roller system and dirt detection to adjust the amount of water it adds to your floors. Not only does it ensure a thorough clean, but it stops excess water making your floors too slippery and avoids cross-contimation with dirty water.

As a cordless device, the Haier I-Pro Clean Z5 has a 50 minute runtime, and an auto clean function which washes and dries its rollers when finished. It has an impressive 25,000 Pa suction power, and offers edge-to-edge cleaning to get close to the edges and corners of your home.

Haier has many appliances under its belt, but its new flagship cleaner line-up definitely looks like it could give Shark and Dyson a run for their money.

The Performer Premium Smart charcoal barbecue is Weber's attempt to drag traditional kettle-style charcoal cooking into the smart-barbecue age. By adding electronic temperature control, an electric fan, a sensor and app connectivity to its iconic kettle format, the Performer Premium Smart aims to take on the convenience offered by pellet grills, gravity-fed smokers and gas barbecues, while retaining the smoky flavour and alfresco theatre of cooking with real charcoal.

There was quite a delay in receiving this model, hence the later-than-expected publication of this T3 review. Now that the rain has arrived to dampen any fears of rural wild fires, it's time we evaluated this new kind of charcoal barbie and see if it really does help tame the cinders for a perfect charcoal-flavoured outdoor feast while the sun still shines.

Weber Performer Premium Smart Charcoal Barbecue review: assembly

Assembly is arguably the Weber Performer Premium Smart charcoal barbecue's least appealing feature. Normally it takes me a leisurely 90 minutes to assemble a basic charcoal barbecue, up to two hours for a pellet grill and two hours or more for a gas BBQ (longer still if it has a side burner), but this one took a record five hours. In fact I had to finish it the following day.

Given that this is a more complicated cart variant, it came with more loose parts than anything I've faced before: screws galore and an insurmountable number of metal components including support trays, struts, flashings, cross members, mountings, wheels, not to mention the electronic temperature-control hardware.

In fact, by the time I finally got to the fan assembly, only to discover that I had to assemble it myself, I was pretty miffed I'll tell you. In fact, I still can't work out why the Weber factory couldn't have preassembled the fan in the first place. It's not like it would have taken up more space in the box.

The funny thing is that, about a third of the way through the build, I was praising Weber for making assembly such a pleasing experience because every screw aligned perfectly and it was all going swimmingly. But then I arrived at the thin flashing that surrounds the top of the unit and there was one area right at the front and within line of sight when grilling that simply refused to align correctly.

In frustration I attempted to drive in the screw at an angle but never managed to get it fully home. This section swallowed up about half an hour but, because I'm a bit OCD when it comes to perfection, I continued trying to drive home the screw until I finally succeeded by twisting the flashing till it fit. While this part of the flashing now looks a little bent under close scrutiny, it's a lot better than having a screw that sticks out askew right before your eyes.

Four hours later with the main carcass fully assembled, I looked at the remaining parts on the lawn and the heart sank as I started to fear the prospect of fitting the electronics, but against all odds – and the fact I had to assemble the fan myself – this part of the process turned out to be relatively pain free, though I found some of the hieroglyphic instructions almost impossible to decipher.

Once fully built, however, I will say that the construction felt reassuringly solid and the construction effort – which really was an effort – almost seemed somewhat justified.

Weber Performer Premium Smart Charcoal Barbecue review: how it works

Smart electronically controlled barbecues are all the rage at the moment and we have the pellet grill smoker to thank for that. However, I still get a bit jumpy using smart barbecues that rely almost entirely on the reliability of a bunch of circuit boards, sensors, an electric fan and a regular supply of electricity.

There's just so much that can wrong, whether it's a power cut and you don't have a portable power station to hand or worse, a software glitch or major hardware failure just as you're preparing the barbecue for an alfresco party. How embarrassing that would be when you have to tell your guests you're going to be using the oven instead because the barbecue has stopped working.

Well here's another smart model to add to the ever expanding range but, in its favour, instead of being a smarts-filled model built from the ground up, it's essentially an electrically modified version of a standard kettle barbecue. And that means that if any electrical disasters occur before your guests arrive, you can still grill on it like any other kettle barbecue. This alone makes this model a very safe bet for those who want to enjoy the unquestionable practicality of an electronically-controlled barbecue without the fear of it suddenly dying on you and ruining the day.

The Weber Performer Premium Smart charcoal barbecue works by combining conventional charcoal cooking with an electronically controlled airflow system. Once the charcoal is lit, the vents are closed and the desired cooking temperature is selected, a temperature sensor continuously monitors the heat inside the kettle. A built-in fan mounted on the side of the kettle then adjusts the amount of air reaching the coals, increasing or reducing airflow to help maintain the chosen temperature. The principle is simple: more airflow makes the charcoal burn hotter, less airflow cools things down.

Aside from normal grilling and searing, this added tech makes the Performer Premium Smart suitable for long, slow cooks such as brisket and pulled pork, where maintaining a steady low temperature for several hours is traditionally one of the trickiest aspects of charcoal barbecue cooking.

Like all pellet grills and Masterbuilt's charcoal-based Series 600 gravity smoker, with this model you can set the barbecue to a specific temperature and let the electronics do most of the work, rather than having to continually adjust the vents yourself.

But there is a catch, specifically when it comes to low-and-slow smoking because the biggest difference between this model and pellet smokers – along with the aforementioned Masterbuilt Series 600 – is that pellet and gravity-based smokers use a side hopper to contain a huge amount of fuel that automatically feeds the fire, whether its wooden pellets or charcoal or briquettes, while the Weber Performer Premium Smart relies on a static bed of charcoal or briquettes.

Let’s concentrate on the Masterbuilt Series 600 since that’s this model’s nearest competitor. The Series 600 uses the indirect cooking method and comes with a very tall, narrow charcoal hopper that never runs out of charcoal because, as it burns below the pile of charcoal, more of it is fed from above. And if it’s running very low you can simply top it up yourself with more charcoal or briquettes.

Crucially, the whole fire system is set to the side of the grilling area and the heat is blown to the cooking section using a large fan. This means that the acrid smell of fresh burning charcoal doesn’t work it’s way into the cooking chamber.

As with any traditional charcoal BBQ, the hardest part is calculating the amount charcoal required for the task in hand and the same applies here. The easiest way to tell is to use Weber's chimney starter because you can more easily gauge the amount of briquettes required. Also, the chimney starter shaves off loads of time during the ignition process.

If you plan to sear some steaks, for instance, you will need an extreme temperature of 300˚C and above, and about 50 briquettes or three quarters of a chimney fire starter. The charcoal can be placed to one side or, if really pushing temperatures for a quick high sear, a full chimney's worth of briquettes spread across most of the grate will do the trick. If you don't use enough charcoal or briquettes, chances are that the BBQ will never reach optimum searing temperature.

For general grilling you can use about a quarter to a half of a chimney starter (25–50 briquettes) and arrange the coals to one side – the Performer Premium Smart comes with two edge dividers for containing the charcoal in one area.

Finally, for smoking with this Weber model, you’re advised to position the briquettes in a long snake around the edge of the bowl, and then light it on one side so the charcoal slowly burns to the tail end. According to Weber, the Performer Premium Smart is capable of running for between eight and 12 hours at a low temperature of around 110˚C, the most common region for low-and-slow smoking.

Weber Performer Premium Smart Charcoal Barbecue review: design and features

The Weber Performer Premium Smart takes the company's traditional cart version of its world-famous kettle system and gives it a modern makeover by fitting a sophisticated temperature-control system designed to make the notoriously volatile charcoal cooking method considerably more predictable.

Naturally, this requires an electricity source which could be awkward if your nearest outdoor socket is more than five metres away. However, rather handily, this model accepts USB-C and that means you can simply run the Performer Premium Smart using a decent pocket-sized power bank which would easily keep the barbie running for an entire standard cook.

The Performer Premium Smart's generously sized 57cm (22”) stainless steel cooking grate provides 2,342cm² of meal estate, making it suitable for large families and smaller parties. The heavy-duty porcelain-enamelled bowl and lid, meanwhile, help retain heat and give the barbecue a reassuringly sturdy feel.

The porcelain enamel is also designed to resist rust and withstand the high temperatures generated during grilling, while the hinged cooking grate makes it possible to add charcoal or smoking wood without having to remove the entire grate.

However, I think this model would be even more 'premium' had it been equipped with a hinged lid instead of one that has to be lifted off and positioned to the side in its wire rack. The cart is finished off with a large preparation/storage shelf to the side and an open storage area below it.

The real party trick here, however, is the smart temperature management system. Rather than relying entirely on manually adjusting the vents, the Performer Premium Smart uses a computer processor and a small fan to regulate airflow and maintain the target cooking temperature.

A single temperature probe monitors temperatures inside the barbecue, with the front screen monitor providing information and alerts as you cook. The system can also monitor the food temperature using the included meat probe, while the Weber app provides live cooking information, alerts, recipes and general guidance.

For anyone accustomed to repeatedly lifting the lid (remember the adage 'if you're lookin', it ain't cookin''), fiddling with vents and wondering whether the temperature is going to settle at 180°C or shoot past 250°C, this 'smart' element is a potentially revolutionary and transformative feature.

Mind, it hasn't always been plain sailing because I read that earlier versions of this model reportedly suffered from temperature fluctuations, with the barbecue sometimes struggling to settle at the selected temperature. There were also reports of the fan continuing to run when it should have switched off, which would have introduced additional airflow, pushing temperatures higher than intended.

Thankfully, it appears that Weber has subsequently refined the system because in my tests the temperatures have remained very stable. That said, it's worth keeping an eye on the temperature at least during the first few cooks, rather than blindly assuming the electronics will do everything for you. After all, charcoal has a mind of its own and even the smartest of barbecues can't completely reverse the laws of combustion.

Away from the electronics, the Performer Premium Smart's 'One-Touch' cleaning system makes clearing out ash extremely easy, while the enclosed ash catcher helps prevent debris from ending up all over the patio. The sturdy wheels – two small castors on one end and a pair of larger fixed wheels on the other – make it reasonably easy to move around on a patio and even across a lawn.

In many respects, this is basically a standard kettle barbecue reinvented for the connected age. It retains all the smoky character and versatility of charcoal cooking, but adds automatic temperature management and app-based monitoring to make outdoor grilling less volatile and easier to get a handle on.

If you always struggle to maintain set temperatures on a charcoal barbecue – who doesn't? – this may be the model for you.

Weber Performer Premium Smart Charcoal Barbecue review: accessories

Weber has built an impressive ecosystem of accessories around some of its kettle BBQs, including this one. It's called the Gourmet Barbecue System (GBS) and it's comprised of a cooking grate with a removable circular centre section that accommodates a small range of modular accessories that turns a straightforward kettle into a versatile outdoor cooking station.

The Poultry Roaster is ideal for cooking a whole chicken with crispy skin and juicy flesh while the Crafted Glazed Pizza Stone turns the kettle into a capable pizza oven, providing a hot, stable surface for crisp bases. However, the jury’s out on why anyone would want to use the cast-iron Dutch Oven to slow-cook a stew or casserole given that they would traditionally be cooked indoors.

One particularly useful addition on this barbecue is Weber's Works side table, which provides extra preparation space while accommodating XL drop-in accessories like the Works Cutting Board, Works Basin with cutting board lid and the Works Caddy for all your accoutrements.

Finally, when you're ready to fire everything up, Weber's Rapidfire Chimney Starter is one of the simplest ways to get a substantial batch of charcoal burning quickly and evenly.

Weber Performer Premium Smart Charcoal Barbecue review: performance

There's a bit of a learning curve with this model since in many instances it involves careful charcoal placement. I made sure I read the manual before starting off and managed to have two disaster-free chicken wing grilling sessions without having to stand over it all the time. The results were just the way I like it, with crispy skin and moist succulent centres. That's the best thing about smart barbecues – they not only help control the temperature so you don't have to, but they make the act of barbecuing less hands-on.

I'll admit to having not performed any low-and-slow brisket, lamb or rib cooking but I did perform a low-temperature test at 110˚C using just half a chimney fire starter's worth of Weber-branded briquettes and the temperature remained consistent for several hours.

I also performed several other experiments with this BBQ while I grasped the working method of its temperature control system. In order to evaluate its searing capability, I shut off all vents and set it to 300˚C but it never reached more than 280˚C. So I went manual and turned the fan to its highest speed setting of 10 but, bizarrely the temperature dropped down in 5˚C increments to 225˚C. I then tried the automatic method again, set it to a lower 270˚C and left it for a while, and it managed to reach 270˚C for about a minute before dropping slowly down to around 230˚C.

Since I’m more used to pellet and gravity-based grilling where the fuel is continually fed from a hopper to the fire bed, it took me a while of head scratching to realise that, of course, no conventional charcoal BBQ will ever reach high searing temperatures unless you’ve loaded it with enough charcoal or briquettes. Doh! I clearly hadn't loaded enough to get it to 300˚C but just the right amount for around 180˚C. So, given the low amount of charcoal, I set it to a grilling temperature of 180˚C and, sure enough, it stayed at that temperature for ages.

I also noticed that, like any kettle grill, you really need to light the briquettes or charcoal at least 40 to 60 minutes before cooking. Do not expect pellet grill speed when heating up, let alone the speed with which Masterbuilt’s gravity-fed series of grill/smokers reaches correct temperature. These models use a much more powerful fan that genuinely prepares the cooking area in about 15 minutes. From lighting the chimney starter to starting the controller, the Weber took about 60 minutes to reach 245˚C and that's par for the course with charcoal barbies.

The Weber Performer Premium Smart blends the authenticity of charcoal cooking with some genuinely useful smart technology to help tame the flame. Its app-controlled fan delivers impressively stable temperatures, making low-and-slow barbecuing more practical without losing the hands-on appeal of general grilling.

While it isn't as straightforward as a pellet or gravity-fed grill, it rewards the extra effort with great versatility and classic Weber performance that should satisfy both enthusiasts and ambitious beginners alike.

If you missed Philips Hue’s big product announcements last week, there’s quite a lot to catch up on. The company unveiled an impressive number of new products and features, and whilst several of the recent rumours turned out to be spot on – including the Hue Play Screen Sync and Hue Play HDMI Sync Box 4K – there were also a few surprises that I certainly wasn’t expecting.

I was in Berlin for the announcements, which also gave me the opportunity to sit down with George Yianni, Head of R&D at Hue Connected; Marco Merolla, Business Leader for Consumer Connected Lighting; and Drago Jozic, Market Leader for Benelux & UK&I. After following the rumours and developments in the run-up to the event, this was my chance to get some answers directly from the people behind Philips Hue and find out what the company has planned next.

However, there was one thing in particular I was keen to ask about... Philips Hue’s decision to collaborate with Nanoleaf.

Nanoleaf has been in the spotlight quite a bit recently following its acquisition, so seeing the brand team up with Philips Hue immediately raised a few questions for me. Most importantly, I wanted to know whether this was simply a one-off collaboration or the beginning of something bigger for Hue.

After speaking with George, Marco and Drago, the main – and rather exciting – takeaway is that Philips Hue isn't ruling out more collaborations with other smart home brands.

The team wouldn't reveal exactly what's next on its partnership roadmap, but it did confirm that Philips Hue is looking at a range of potential integrations with other brands and platforms.

In fact, when discussing why Hue would choose to partner with another company rather than develop a product itself, George put it pretty simply: “If what’s there is already a great fit, why would we do it ourselves?”

The chat we had also gave me a much better understanding of Philips Hue’s thinking behind the Nanoleaf partnership. The company doesn’t need to build every type of smart lighting product itself, and if another brand already excels in a particular category, working together can ultimately create a better experience for customers.

Nanoleaf was a natural fit because its decorative lighting panels filled a gap in the Hue lineup. In fact, Hue says it had already seen members of its community combining Nanoleaf panels with their Hue setups, which George described as “clearly a gap for people that wanted to have the Hue experience in every room of their house.”

Marco also stressed that partnerships aren't simply about filling gaps in the product range. As he put it, “The consumer experience in some selected areas can be better if we partner with another brand than having to try to fix that gap ourselves.”

Nanoleaf wasn't the only collaboration announced that day, either. Selected Hue switches, including the Hue Tap Dial Switch, can now control Sonos speakers without you needing to open an app. However, the Nanoleaf partnership feels particularly interesting because it's a collaboration between two brands that could otherwise be seen as competitors.

Rather than keeping their products completely separate, Philips Hue and Nanoleaf are finding a way for them to work together. This could make both ecosystems more useful in the process, and if Hue's comments are anything to go by, Nanoleaf may not be the last smart home brand we see it work with.

Shelly has launched two new smart door and window sensors at IFA 2026, expanding its existing sensor range, which already includes the recently launched BLU Door/Window ZB and Flood S Gen4.

The new BLU Door Window Mini ZB in particular is designed for situations where standard door and window sensors may not be suitable. The Mini ZB is made for narrower door and window frames, which could be particularly useful in older UK properties, where door and window frames can vary considerably.

Shelly has yet to announce pricing or availability for either sensor, although both are expected to launch in the coming months.

The BLU Door Window Mini ZB detects when a door or window is opened or closed, with those events able to trigger notifications and smart home automations. It supports both Bluetooth and Zigbee, allowing it to be integrated into compatible Shelly setups.

Shelly has also launched the new BLU Door Window Outdoor ZB, featuring an IP55 protection that allows it to be installed on areas such as garden gates, sheds and other outbuildings. It can monitor when an outdoor door or gate is opened or closed, whilst Bluetooth and Zigbee connectivity provides flexibility when integrating it with a smart home system.

Le Creuset and Star Trek might not be the most obvious pairing, but the two brands have come together for a fun limited-edition collection celebrating 60 years of the iconic sci-fi franchise.

The Le Creuset x Star Trek collection brings some of the franchise’s most recognisable characters and symbols into the kitchen, with everything from Enterprise-inspired cast-iron cookware to Spock-themed mugs and Klingon knobs.

Le Creuset has also gone one step further to mark the launch, sending a cast-iron casserole into the stratosphere. The Enterprise-inspired dish launched from Derbyshire attached to a sustainable hydrogen-filled balloon, reaching an altitude of 110,095 feet (33.5km). It spent 1 hour, 19 minutes and 4 seconds in the stratosphere before returning safely to Earth by parachute.

That said, you don't need to send your Le Creuset into the stratosphere to enjoy the collection. There are plenty of much more practical – and considerably cheaper – options to choose from.

Leading the range is the Enterprise Round Casserole with Starfleet Insignia Knob, priced at £425 – around $500. The Signature Round Casserole features the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 across its surface, emerging from Le Creuset's signature rings.

Then there's the Klingon Shallow Casserole with Klingon Knob, priced at £385 or $450. It's a considerably bolder-looking piece, taking inspiration from one of the more formidable forces in the Star Trek universe.

There's also the Galileo Shuttlecraft Rectangular Casserole Dish, priced at £130 or $150. The 1.6-litre baking dish takes its design cues from the shuttlecraft used to explore the unknown and comes in a rather lovely warm Brioche finish.

If you don't fancy spending hundreds on cookware, there are plenty of smaller accessories to choose from. The Starfleet Insignia Knob and Klingon Knob cost £40 each (around $50) and offer an easy way to add a little Star Trek personality to compatible Le Creuset cookware.

The Spock Ear Mug is priced at £31 ($40) and features a sculpted handle inspired by Spock's famous ears, complete with real gold detailing around the rim. There's also a Spock Hand Spoon Rest in Bleu Riviera for £36 (around $45), adding another subtle nod.

Rounding things off are a Star Trek Oven Mitt in Star Trek Blue for £36 ($45) and a Communicator Grater for £52 or $65. So, alongside the more collectible cookware, there are a few useful everyday kitchen accessories in the mix too.

At its huge unveiling event in Berlin last week, Dyson showed off two brand new hair tools that we hadn't seen before. The Corrale CoolShine and Airsmooth arrived alongside the brand's latest robot vacuum cleaners and air purifiers, making for a pretty busy day of new Dyson tech.

The Corrale CoolShine takes Dyson's familiar hot-plate styling approach and adds a cooling system, whilst the Airsmooth is Dyson's first dedicated hot air brush. Both also feature universal voltage, something we've only seen from Dyson for the first time on the recent Supersonic Travel.

The Airsmooth is available from today for £199.99/$249.99 through Dyson's online store and selected retailers. The Corrale CoolShine launches next week for £249.99/$329.99.

The Corrale CoolShine combines Dyson's flexing plate technology with a new cooling attachment designed to remove excess heat as you style. Heat-extracting pipes pull heat away from the hair, cooling it as you straighten and helping to reduce residual heat exposure.

Dyson says this can deliver up to 29% less damage, whilst leaving hair feeling cooler, smoother and softer during and after styling.

The Airsmooth uses a dual-bristle system designed to guide hair through the airflow rather than pulling or fighting it. The anti-snag bristles have a looped structure that collapses to release strands more easily, whilst the PivotFlex bristles use an open-base design to diffuse and control the high-pressure airflow.

The two bristle types are arranged in a teardrop formation and work together to stretch curls and coils, smooth hair from root to tip and reduce frizz in a single motion. Dyson says the design is intended to work with natural curl patterns and different hair textures rather than flattening them out.

There's also intelligent heat control, which measures the temperature 100 times a second to keep styling controlled and comfortable while helping protect the hair's integrity over time.

Aqara has unveiled that it’s expanding its smart lighting offering with a new range of indoor and outdoor smart lights. Announced at IFA 2026, there are five products in total, all designed to work alongside Aqara’s sensors, switches and hubs to help automate entire spaces.

The new lineup includes the Aqara Floor Lamp T1, LED Downlight T2, LED Strip T2, Outdoor String Lights H1, and Permanent Outdoor Lights H1. Every product supports both Thread and Zigbee connectivity, is Matter-enabled, and works across major smart home platforms including Apple Home, Home Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings and Homey.

As you probably know, Aqara is one of my favourite budget friendly smart home brands, so I was pretty excited to see what it’s been working on. Here’s a closer look at each of the new lights:

1. Aqara Floor Lamp T1

The Floor Lamp T1 looks similar to some of the more premium models we’ve seen before, including the Philips Hue Signe and Govee Floor Lamp Pro, but Aqara has filled its version with some impressive tech.

A new high-precision 16-bit, 5-channel chip drives 18 individually controllable zones, allowing for cinematic-looking colour transitions. It also has an ultra-wide tuneable white range of 2,000K to 9,000K, whilst brightness reaches up to 1,000 lumens, giving you everything from warm lighting to brighter everyday illumination.

2. Aqara LED Downlight T2

Following on from Aqara’s Ceiling Light T1M, the new LED Downlight T2 has an ultra thin profile, making it a good option for low ceilings and relatively straightforward retrofits.

There are also two versions to choose from – the RGB CCT version for both mood lighting and everyday use, with a 2,000K-9,000K range and support for 16 million colours. Alternatively, the simpler CCT version focuses on reliable everyday illumination, with brightness reaching up to 1,200 lumens.

Like Aqara’s other lights, the LED Downlight T2 also has power-off memory, meaning it can return to the exact lighting state you had set before a power outage.

3. Aqara LED Strip T2

The new LED Strip T2 is another evolution of one of Aqara’s existing lighting products. It’s flexible and trimmable, making it easy to fit under cabinets, behind furniture or wherever you want to add a bit of ambient lighting.

It has 108 LEDs per metre, along with a 16-bit, 5-channel chip and 18 independently controllable zones every three metres. That means it can produce smooth colour gradients as well as music-synchronised effects, which should help keep things feeling a little more dynamic than your average static LED strip.

4. Aqara Outdoor String Lights H1

The Outdoor String Lights H1 are particularly interesting because they mark Aqara’s first move into outdoor lighting.

The weatherproof string lights feature individually controllable zones, allowing you to create richer lighting effects across patios, decks and other outdoor spaces. They also offer an ultra-wide 2,000K-9,000K colour temperature range, so you can switch between warm evening lighting and brighter illumination.

As you’d expect from Aqara, the lights can be automated based on the time of day, environmental conditions or triggers from other Aqara devices.

5. Aqara Permanent Outdoor Lights H1

Finally, there’s the Permanent Outdoor Lights H1, which is essentially a permanent version of the model I just mentioned.

Designed to be installed once and left in place, the system can be adapted for different occasions using one-tap presets and independently controlled LEDs. It’s also extendable and cuttable, so you can fit it to different rooflines, whilst its weatherproof design means it’s built for year-round outdoor use.

We’re still waiting on pricing, but based on Aqara’s previous smart lights and wider product range, I’m expecting these to be relatively affordable – especially compared with the likes of Philips Hue and Govee.

Reolink has officially launched its new Home Hub 2, giving users a local and subscription-free way to store, search and manage footage from their Reolink cameras. The news was announced at IFA 2026, where the brand also unveiled three new security cameras joining its existing ranges.

The new Reolink Home Hub 2 also brings a variety of new AI features, including Local AI Video Search. This lets you search through recorded footage using natural-language descriptions, without needing a cloud subscription.

The Home Hub 2 is set to arrive in the coming weeks for £149.99 (around $200). It can connect up to eight Reolink cameras and supports up to 16TB of external storage.

Reolink also announced that it's expanding its ReoNeura AI technology a year after it first arrived, meaning the technology runs directly on your devices, rather than sending footage to the cloud.

The latest addition is Custom AI Detection, which lets users define and train the system to recognise specific scenarios or things that are unique to their home. For example, you could train it to recognise when the bins have been collected and receive an alert when it happens.

The brand's cameras are also becoming easier to integrate into a wider smart home setup, with support for Alexa, Google Home, Home Assistant, Homey and IFTTT.

That means you can now pull up a live feed on an Echo Show or Google Nest Hub, trigger a routine when a camera detects something, or use voice commands to control your Reolink kit. The company says further integrations are on the way too.

Dyson has revealed its most powerful 3-in-1 air purifier at IFA 2026, alongside two other new models designed to tackle of a range of spaces. The Dyson HushJet Hot Cool Pure+ air purifier combines three core features - purification, heating and personal cooling, which makes the unit super versatile and ideally suited to a wide range of uses.

The trio of multi-stage filtration system purifiers are able to capture 99.999% of pollutants, even those as small as 0.01 microns whilst also removing 99.9% of bacteria as well as destroying any traces of formaldehyde and other harmful gases.

The Dyson HushJet Hot Cool Pure+ air features a distinctive star-shaped nozzle that looks like it could have come straight from the aerospace industry. While the design is super efficient and offers coverage up to 140m2, it can be fine-tuned to allow air to be delivered in multiple directions. HushJet silencer engineering also means the unit is quiet, running at just 44dB. It also offers an impressive filter life of two years.

Dyson launched its first HushJet Compact Purifier in 2025 and then supplemented that with the Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Fan in April of this year. The innovative design thinking behind this range draws inspiration from the field of aviation, especially when it comes down to that funky HushJet Nozzle. The design, which enables precise control of air and sound levels, has since gone on to be used across the Dyson range of air purifiers, heaters and coolers.

Pure Cool+ Formaldehyde

Anyone wanting something a little more compact will find the Pure Cool+ Formaldehyde air purifier perfect for smaller spaces. The high-performance medium-format purifier boasts up to 3 times more powerful purification, while still having a form factor that will be ideally suited to anyone with space issues.

Performance wise, the Pure Cool+ Formaldehyde offers air projection of 20 metres, coverage of 280m² and operates at less than 50dB. The filter life is an impressive 18 months.

HushJet Big+Quiet Cool Pure+ Formaldehyde

Conversely, the HushJet Big+Quiet Cool Pure+ Formaldehyde air purifier sits at the other end of the spectrum offering performance that’s aimed at taking on multiple rooms in one go. It has a 20-metre projection capability, coverage range of 360m², a filter life of up to 18 months and operates at 46dB for the European model.

Dyson air purifier pricing and release date

The Dyson HushJet Hot Cool Pure+ air will launch in December with an RRP of £549.99. However, if you can’t wait, the Dyson HushJet Big+Quiet Cool Pure+Formaldehyde, priced at £899.99 and the Dyson HushJet Pure Cool+ Formaldehyde costing £549.99 will both be available from October.

You probably won't be surprised to hear that Lamborghini has never actually made a stroller capable of doing 180mph. That hasn't stopped it from putting its name on one, though.

The Reef AL Giallo is the latest collaboration between Lamborghini and British pram maker Silver Cross, and it's about as far removed from a sensible family purchase as you'd expect.

It's based on Silver Cross's Reef 2 stroller, but gets an exotic makeover. The carrycot is made from high-gloss polycarbonate with integrated airflow and is lined with automotive-grade suede, while the seat combines suede with bamboo fibre.

There's also a genuine leather bumper bar with Lamborghini badging, hand-finished handlebar casting and a brake pedal designed to avoid scuffing your shoes.

Even the storage basket has had the luxury treatment, with an origami-style folding design intended to hold its shape against the frame.

The Lamborghini influence is particularly obvious in the detailing. The brand's familiar Y-shaped pattern is debossed into the stroller rather than simply printed on, while Giallo yellow appears around the piping, stitching, harness liner and wheel hubs.

And this is very much a collector's item rather than a mass-market pram. Only 500 Reef AL Giallo strollers are being produced worldwide, with each one receiving its own numbered plaque.

It's also rather hefty. At 13.6kg, the stroller weighs around 30lb before you've added your child, which could make getting it in and out of the boot rather less glamorous than the Lamborghini badge suggests.

The folded dimensions are 71 x 61 x 30.5cm, so you'll need a reasonably accommodating boot, too.

There's a hefty price premium for all that Italian styling. A standard Silver Cross Reef 2 costs between $999.99 and $1,299.99, while the Lamborghini edition is priced at $3,995.

That makes this a very expensive way of transporting a baby from A to B. But if you've got the money, the car to match and an unhealthy appreciation for limited-edition Italian supercars, at least you can now complete the set.

Roborock has taken the covers off a crop of new products at IFA 2026, including the dazzling Saros 20 robot vacuum range. Top of the pile has to be the Roborock Saros Rover, which has already been showcased at CES in Las Vegas and features independently adjustable legs that make it one of the most agile robovacs out there.

However, for the team here at T3 Towers, the Roborock Saros 20 Flow Complete offers less in the way of party tricks, but delivers oodles more practicality. The appliance boasts a formidable 36,000 Pa HyperForce suction motor system, which looked really impressive when it was in action on the huge Roborock show floor.

This model has also got an upgraded AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0, which means it’s more than capable of getting over obstacles around the home, including thresholds of up to 8.8cm. The Roborock Saros 20 Flow Complete also packs a roller mop, for tackling hard floor surfaces, spillages and stains.

The Roborock Saros 20 Flow Complete behaves smartly too, thanks to its RetractSense LiDAR Navigation system, which helps it get under low furniture. The 3D obstacle recognition was similarly impressive during demonstrations, underlining how Roborock seems to have got it just about right with its latest crop of machines.

Roborock Saros 20 Neo

Another highlight of the imposing Roborock booth was the Roborock Saros 20 Neo. Roborock has tailored this machine towards homes with more complex floor layouts, which combined with its beefy specification makes it a great all-rounder.

The Roborock Saros 20 Neo sports a similarly beefy arsenal of cleaning tools, including the AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0 setup, advanced navigation and obstacle recognition (over 300 different items no less) as well as a 36,000 Pa HyperForce suction motor. It’s also great at getting into low-slung environments, right on down to space of 7.95cm.

Adding extra appeal to the specification is a dual anti-tangle system, which makes it useful for shaggy dog owners and other pet hair scenarios. Meanwhile, the warm-water mopping system can apply up to 14N of downward pressure when needed, making the Saros 20 Neo a good option for folks who face stubborn floor stains on a regular basis.

The docking station also washes the mop with 100°C hot water, which should keep the roller in tip top condition. It’ll also cover nearly 350 m² on a single charge.

Both the Roborock Saros 20 Flow Complete and the Roborock Saros 20 Neo also benefit from European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF) certification, which means they’re officially ‘Allergy Friendly’.

Roborock RockAqua P1

However, Roborock also continues to diversify its innovative product portfolio, adding the RockAqua P1, its first robotic pool cleaner to the collection. It looks very cool, with a design that appears almost too good to put under water.

Much like its dry land Roborock counterparts, the robotic pool cleaner features an enviable ability to tackle complex pool shapes covering floors and walls as it goes, right up to a minimum depth of 15cm. It features 6,800 GPH of suction, packs a 4-litre debris basket into the body shape and the 180 μm + 70 μm dual filtration system means it’s easily able to collect dirt and debris effectively.

There’s a runtime of up to 3.5 hours, recharging takes about the same amount of time and a built-in monocular camera ensures obstacle avoidance. Meanwhile, dynamic dirt detection assists the machine in adapting to ever-changing pool conditions. Fishing it out of the pool is also not needed thanks to the Auto Waterline Parking, which automatically brings the robot to the surface.

Roborock F25 Ultra Steam Gen2 and more

Roborock also revealed a slew of other goodies, including its so-called intelligent cleaning solutions that consisted of the Roborock F25 Ultra Steam Gen2 and the Roborock F25 Pro Turbo Combo. The former had a nifty high-temperature steam and hot-water cleaning design that was easily able to tackle stubborn and dried-on stains during the brand’s keynote event.

Meanwhile, the Roborock F25 Pro Turbo Combo had a clever 5-in-1 system that makes it a brilliant multi-tasking machine, transforming it from a wet/dry vacuum into a cordless machine that can be used on standalone items of furniture or for forays into those hard-to-reach areas around the home.

Elsewhere, the Roborock RockNeo Q2 LiDAR robotic mower was just as impressive. This cool-looking creation can cover areas of lawn up to 800 m². It comes packed with top tech too, including Sentisphere LiDAR environmental perception and ReactiVision Fusion features that offer the latest in cable and antenna-free navigation.

There’s also a floating cutting deck and a PreciEdge cutting module that delivers precision trimming of borders. Owners can expect it to cut within 3 cm of lawn edges, which is impressive.

Pricing and availability

The Saros 20 Neo is set to be released in the UK starting from today, and can be purchased via Amazon UK as well as the Roborock UK store. It has an RRP of £999. However, UK consumers also can purchase the Saros 20 Neo for just £799 from the 7^th to the 20^th of September and by doing so will receive an additional 480ml of cleaning solution.

Ireland will get the Saros 20 Neo a little later, from October, with pricing details yet to be confirmed. Similarly, pricing for the Saros 20 Flow Complete, the Saros Rover, RockAqua P1 and other products will be confirmed later down the line.

The new Tado Smart Thermostat X (2nd gen) has been unveiled at IFA 2026. It’s a follow up to the Tado X, which in itself was a hugely popular smart thermostat. However, the Tado Smart Thermostat X (2nd gen) packs even more appeal with a leaner design, super intuitive controls plus a simpler installation and setup process.

It’s certainly eye-catching with a matte Snow White exterior, which features cool rounded off edges that will look much more elegant once it’s been fitted. Better still, the slimline design, which at 17.8mm is really thin, means it can be fitted just about anywhere without being obtrusive. In fact, Tado reckons it is currently the thinnest best smart thermostat on the market.

Even better on the eye is the circular touch interface of the unit. The illuminated LCD display is crisp, clear and instantly easy to read delivering crucial updates on the likes of temperature and humidity. There’s also a new Quick Action button mounted on the top, which can be customised to suit different homes and personal preferences including the option to pump up the heating when it’s needed.

More compatible than ever

The Tado Smart Thermostat X 2nd gen is compatible with boilers, heat pumps and underfloor heating systems and benefits from the popular Tado supporting app. This allows full remote management of the settings while also working seamlessly with the likes of Google Home, Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings and Matter.

Another bonus with the Tado Smart Thermostat X (2nd gen) is the way it comes fitted with a rechargeable battery, which is a unique feature up against Tado’s other models. It can be charged up in around three hours using a USB-C cable connection and should be good for a year or more of use.

Easier to use too

Tado promises the new thermostat is simpler to install too and will also work in harmony with existing Tado X products, meaning upgrades should be straightforward. As an bonus, the Tado Smart Thermostat X (2nd gen) benefits from AI Assist, available as an optional upgrade for £3.99 per month or £29.99 per year.

AI Assist uses artificial intelligence to optimise heating depending on weather conditions and tweaks settings to match the type of home its being used in. A range of new AI-focused features like Geofencing, Open Window Detection, Adaptive Heating and Pre-heat Before Arrival lets users get the best from their purchase.

Homes fitted with their own boilers or heat pumps also have the potential to benefit from Hydronic Balancing, which helps make the system more efficient than ever.

T3’s Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 review in a sentence: A perfectly proportioned design and impressive performance delivers heaps of appeal for average homeowners.

When it comes to the best robot vacuums, the Eufy brand is right up there with the best of them. I recently reviewed the Eufy Omni S2, which was a beefy though costly machine that ticked all the right boxes. It had quite an imposing design though, which is why the recently tested Eufy Omni C28 caught my eye shortly after. It looked a little more low-key and a lot less bulky, which for anyone with space considerations in mind, makes a much more sensible purchase.

The Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 follows a similar theme on the aesthetics front, with a form that works well for me and a list of functions that are impressive too. Specification highlights include 35,000pa suction thanks to a supposedly exclusive multi-cyclone system that means the AeroTurbo setup maintains cleaning consistency for much longer. Maintenance and cleaning intervals are said to be less frequent too.

Elsewhere, there’s HydroJet mopping, which delivers 288mm wide roller cleaning and rinsing of said roller on the go. The mopping intensity sounded good too, with a 15N pressing force being applied across the roller compared to the more commonly found 8N on alternative models. Adding to the overall cleaning credentials is a side-facing laser, that combined with the wide roller, should deliver better results right up to the wall. Often a weak spot on some lesser machines. So, did it work as expected? Read on to find out…

Price and availability

The Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 has an RRP of $1099.99, but early bird pre-sale buyers will receive a discount, bringing the E35 to $899.99. Pre-sale is open now on Eufy's website.

For the UK, the RRP is £999, which makes the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 a higher-end model, although it packs a very impressive set of features and functions that make the cost look justified.

Design and features

One of the best aspects of the Omni E35 is its size. Compared to some models I’ve reviewed, this one feels about right in the dimensions department, making it ideally suited to the hallway location I favour in my house. The overall design looks good too consisting in the main of black plastic, some of it matt and some of it shiny. All in, the robot and base station didn’t feel ridiculously heavy either, meaning it could be relocated without much fuss.

Inside the box, the Omni E35 comes with the robot vacuum unit and the Omni base station, that is home to the rear-mounted power connection plus on the top, to the right, clean and dirty water tanks as well as a dedicated cleaning solution compartment.

Also on the top, to the left side of the unit, a physical dust bag is hidden away under a lifting lid. There’s a container of floor cleaner included for good measure along with a power cable, quick start guide and a safety sheet. Unboxing and setting it up took me mere minutes and there wasn’t much to do. The detachable ramp that leads the robot vacuum into the docking station needed clicking in place and the tanks filled and that was about it.

The RoboVac unit itself is nicely designed; with essentially all of the usual features we’ve seen before. On the top of the unit, there’s a prominent LiDAR navigation component standing proud of the main body, while just in front is a power button and a recharge button. Along the front is the RGB camera, line laser sensors and an LED light.

Notably, square wall sensors can be found on each side of the RoboVac’s body. Around the back, where it docks with the base station, are the various ports that allow for water collection. Under the lift-off top, is the on-board dust bin.

On the underside, there are a collection of components that work in tandem to make the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 deliciously potent. The carpet sensor quickly spots a change in floor surface, the DuoSpiral brushes come pre-fitted and the impressively proportioned roller mop makes for a top-level array of cleaning tools.

That mopping roller, in particular, was nicely designed to that it extends to the very end of the RoboVac body, which always helps when it comes to get in close to kitchen units and skirting boards. Overall, the feature set, design and build quality feels very premium.

Performance

I’ve always found Eufy software and its app design to be spot on, especially for its home security camera products. So, I was similarly impressed with the app for the Omni E35. At the time of writing, I was asked to use a beta setup, due to the pre-release nature of the product being tested.

However, once the Omni E35 is live, the app will be available for iOS 11 or later and Android 8.0 or later devices. Users will need a Wi-Fi router broadcasting a 2.4GHz signal and an account needs to be set up in order to add the device. And, thankfully, the Omni E35 is easy to add to the app and configure.

First up, following the initial startup procedure, is the mapping process. This followed the same theme I’ve encountered on other Eufy models and was relatively simple and straightforward. I quite like the way Eufy allows for easy map management, which is handy for merging floor layouts where your home has open plan sections. Other handy options include the ability to flag no-go zones, areas where carpet or rug sections might be and, crucially, configure the floor material settings.

Considering I use my robot vacuum on a ground floor that is predominantly open plan and covered with wood laminate, all of the app options allow precise management of what happens and when. I certainly couldn’t fault the vacuuming side of things, with more than enough suction on a hard floor to get rid of everyday dust, dirt and balls of fluff that seem to proliferate on hard floors. The robovac even managed quite well on rugs I thought, even though I’ve yet to find a model that really feels at home on thicker pile.

Best of all though, the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 is a prime performer when it comes to mopping. The downward pressure exerted by this unit was impressive and it can easily tackle stubborn or sticky stains. The appeal is boosted by the continuous washing of the mop, which happens in transit. I got one or two water drops around the docking station, but overall, the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 delivered excellent results. Plus, that wide roller really did get right up to the edge of skirting boards, which was a real bonus.

I particularly liked the way the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 could have its component parts disassembled without hassle in order to maintain its efficiency. Even the small dust bin could be taken apart for more thorough cleaning and the same went for the rollers on the underside. These clicked in and out very easily, which meant I could clean them off and remove trapped long hairs in seconds. Again, the ease of use was very appealing.

Verdict

The Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 is perfect for the average home. It’s got more than enough muscle on both the vac and mop fronts and maintenance levels appear to be low. For example, the docking station bag and cleaning solution only need replacing every 30 to 60 days depending on use.

Meanwhile, the roller mop, high-performance filter and brushes should be good for between 3 and 6 months of use. Those clean and dirty water tanks (2.5 litres and 2.4 litres respectively) need monitoring but they’re of a good size so, overall, I’d say the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 is a pretty fuss-free option.

The runtime, up to 188 minutes in quiet mode, is impressive too while charging is officially 4 to 5 hours, which is perfectly fine to me. Operating levels up to 84dB are also acceptable and the Omni E35 can also manage carpet clearance of 26mm. As a complete package, this bag of tricks is a very solid option.

Alternatives to consider

Anyone with a larger home who wants something a little more substantial should investigate the Dreame X50 Ultra Complete robot vacuum. Alongside the brawny Eufy Omni S2, larger robot vacs make a good option for similar money. However, the neat form factor of Eufy Omni C28 mentioned earlier is a good alternative to this model.

There is, of course, also the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E25 as another option, which can probably be had for less money these days. We’ve found it at up to half the price of the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 with some simple searching online. It is also great at cleaning right up to the edges of skirting boards and kitchen units.

At IFA 2026, EZVIZ has announced a whole new generation of smart home products. Amongst the new launches is the EZVIZ H90f Triple Pan & Tilt Wi-Fi Camera which – as you may have guessed from the name – has not one, not two but three lenses so you won’t miss a thing.

Dual lens security cameras have been all the rage lately, but EZVIZ is offering one step better with its new H90f camera. With a triple-lens system, the EZVIZ H90f has a wide single camera at the top and a smaller rounder camera at the bottom which has its two other lenses.

With full coverage in mind, the EZVIZ H90f uses a triple-motor system to offer flexible viewing angles, and reduce blind spots. The cameras have 3K resolution, and 12x hybrid zoom so you can see all your footage and live view in crystal-clear detail. It also comes with local AI-powered familiar facial recognition to accurately notify you of what's happening at your property.

Another debut from EZVIZ, the CB60 Dual 4G Battery Camera might be my favourite of the new releases, mainly because it looks like a mini robot. Available in black or white, the EZVIZ CB60 has dual 3K lenses, and 8x hybrid zoom.

The EZVIZ CB60 comes with Always On Vision (AOV) technology, meaning it continuously records when motion is detected, and switches to lower frame rates when the area is empty. As an outdoor camera, it’s easy to install with its magnetic base, has 4G connectivity and is compatible with solar panels.

For fans of the EZVIZ C6c 4K Indoor Pan-Tilt Camera, it’s been upgraded with better image quality and detection features. It now has 4K resolution, 340° pan and 130° tilt coverage, and AI detection which can recognise over 130 items. As an indoor camera, it still comes with two-way talk, video calling and a physical privacy shutter.

At IFA, EZVIZ has also debuted its latest smart lock, the DL50FVX Dual-Cam Face Recognition and Palm Vein Smart Lock. It offers multiple unlocking options, including palm vein and fingerprint recognition, face ID, app, temporary codes and passwords, as well as a back-up key if needed.

Pricing and availability for the new EZVIZ launches has yet to be confirmed, but they look undeniably impressive – I can’t wait to get my hands on them.

After rumours began last month, Reolink has officially unveiled a selection of new smart security cameras at IFA 2026. Leading the announcement is the OMVI 2i Ultra, which joins Reolink's OMVI Series and brings its dual-view setup to a completely wire-free camera.

Reolink is also expanding its TrackFlex range with the new TrackFlex WiFi, a 4K dual-lens security camera designed to keep a much wider eye on your home. Rounding out the trio is the flagship OMVI X16 PoE, which is coming later this year with an impressive 24MP resolution and 16x optical zoom.

Both the TrackFlex WiFi and OMVI 2i Ultra are expected to launch in the coming weeks. The TrackFlex WiFi will be priced at £169.99 (around $230), whilst the OMVI 2i Ultra is expected to cost £170-£220 (around $230-$300). Pricing for the OMVI X16 PoE is yet to be announced.

The new OMVI 2i Ultra combines an 8MP wide-view camera with a 5MP pan-and-tilt camera, meaning you can keep an eye on the wider scene whilst simultaneously tracking movement elsewhere. Reolink's SyncTrack technology also allows the lower camera to continue following a detected person or object even after they move beyond the wide-angle camera's view.

It's completely wire-free too, with a detachable 10,000mAh battery that Reolink claims can last up to six months, based on five minutes of recording each day. There's also a built-in 6W solar panel to keep it topped up, with Reolink claiming just 30 minutes of sunlight per day is enough to keep the camera running.

The TrackFlex WiFi follows the Reolink TrackFlex Floodlight WiFi, which we recently awarded five stars, and uses a similar dual-lens setup to offer 270-degree Out-of-View detection. It also features 355-degree panning, 50-degree tilting and automatic tracking and zooming. Its AI can distinguish between people, vehicles and animals to cut down on unnecessary alerts, whilst dual-band Wi-Fi 6 should help keep the connection stable.

Finally, the OMVI X16 PoE sits at the top of Reolink's OMVI range, featuring an impressive 24MP resolution and 16x optical zoom. Reolink hasn't revealed too much more about its new flagship just yet, but we should hear more as its launch gets closer.

Nanoleaf has expanded its wellness range with two new devices, taking its red light therapy and recovery tech beyond the face. The new launches include the Nanoleaf LED Light Therapy Neck & Décolletage Mask and the Nanoleaf Lymphatic Body Sculpting Massager, both designed to be integrated into an at-home wellness routine.

The LED Light Therapy Neck & Décolletage Mask uses Nanoleaf's Triple NIR Technology, combining three Near-Infrared wavelengths to target areas where deeper neck lines tend to appear. The Lymphatic Body Sculpting Massager, meanwhile, is a handheld device designed to support lymphatic flow, reduce puffiness and help create a more sculpted appearance.

The Nanoleaf LED Light Therapy Neck & Décolletage Mask is priced at £149.99/$149.99/€149.99, whilst the Lymphatic Body Sculpting Massager costs £45.99/$59.99/€69.99. Both will be available through Nanoleaf's website and Amazon.

The two launches follow several wellness products we've already seen from Nanoleaf, including its LED Face Mask, Light Therapy Panel and Light Therapy Wand. This time, the LED Light Therapy Neck & Décolletage Mask takes things further than the face, wrapping around the neck and extending across the chest. It has seven treatment modes – Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Yellow, Purple and White – along with five intensity levels.

The Lymphatic Body Sculpting Massager takes a different approach, combining four treatments in one device – microcurrent, red light therapy, heat and vibration. Vibration is designed to encourage lymphatic flow, whilst heat helps relax muscles and ease tension. There's also 640nm red light and 850nm Near-Infrared light, which Nanoleaf says can support healthier-looking skin. It has a cordless design too, offering up to 2.5 hours of battery life.

Dyson has unveiled an entirely new range of robot vacuums, combining its Neural Intelligence technology with its latest vision system. The lineup consists of three models – the R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV, R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry and R1 Nurovi Dry – each offering a different level of cleaning.

The news comes just two days after Dyson launched its long-awaited CameraJet toothbrush, taking the brand into an entirely new category. This latest launch brings the focus back to floorcare, but it's still a significant move, especially given Dyson's limited history with robot vacuums.

The Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry and R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry are available from today, priced at £499.99 and £749.99 respectively. The more advanced R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV will follow in early 2027, with pricing still to be confirmed.

The Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV sits at the top of the range, featuring an AI-powered stain detection system that combines UV light, AI vision and green laser-like illumination to identify nearly 200 different household substances and objects. Once it spots a stain, the R3 can then repeatedly clean the area until it's gone.

A self-cleaning wet roller uses a 12-point hydration system to continuously apply fresh water heated to 70°C, helping tackle stubborn stains whilst cleaning the roller on every rotation. The full-width microfibre roller can also extend by 40mm to get closer to edges, whilst 30,000Pa of suction takes care of dry cleaning across hard floors and carpets.

The Dyson R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry takes a slightly different approach, swapping the circular mopping pads found on many robot vacuums for Reuleaux triangle-shaped pads. The pads are designed to maintain a constant width as they move, helping the robot reach further into corners and along edges where circular pads can struggle.

For vacuuming, there's a new Twin-capture system that separates fine and coarse debris. Bristles mechanically sweep larger debris into the robot, leaving the vacuum motor to focus its suction on finer dust and smaller particles.

There's also an acoustic piezo sensor that detects dust levels and different floor types in real time, automatically adjusting suction and cleaning behaviour as the robot moves around your home.

Finally, the Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry is the dedicated dry-cleaning model, designed for both carpets and hard floors. It uses the same Twin-capture technology as the R2, paired with 21,000Pa of suction. Dyson has also redesigned the side sweepers to better control the direction of dust and debris.

Those sweepers can extend towards walls and into corners for better coverage too, whilst the new design is intended to reduce hair wrapping and tangling around the bristles.

Dyson has also unveiled the W1 PencilWash, an upgraded version of the original PencilWash that launched earlier in 2026. We awarded the original model three stars in our full review, so it's good to see an upgraded version arrive so quickly.

The new W1 has a more absorbent roller, redesigned hygienic waste system and self-cleaning technology built into the dock, whilst retaining the slim design from before. The Dyson W1 PencilWash is also available from today for £299.99, which is around £90 cheaper then the original's current price.

At IFA 2026, SwitchBot has announced a new retrofit smart lock system, and it might have convinced me to make the switch to a smart lock over my normal door handle. The SwitchBot Lock Ultra Max Vision Pro Combo is designed for European locks, and offers 19 ways to unlock your front door, making your traditional set of keys look old fashioned.

The SwitchBot Lock Ultra Max Vision Pro Combo consists of the SwitchBot Lock Ultra Max, the SwitchBot Keypad Vision Pro and the SwitchBot Hub Mini. These three products work together to make a faster, securer and more connected experience, thanks to its upgraded technology and Matter connectivity.

Starting with the lock, the SwitchBot Lock Ultra Max mounts on the inside of your door in its existing lock cylinder, so you don’t have to modify your door. It’s powered by an UltraDrive brushless motor which gives it a speed of 160 rpm, so it can unlock your door in just 1.1 seconds – very speedy for a smart lock.

Speaking of unlocking, the SwitchBot Lock Ultra Max has 19 unlocking methods to play with, including 3D facial recognition, fingerprints, palm vein recognition, voice control, passcodes, NFC cards, the SwitchBot app and more. The keypad is needed for most of these features which can be easily installed on the outside of your home.

The SwitchBot Lock Ultra Max comes with multiple modes, including Max Mode and Quiet Mode. The former allows the lock to unlock your door quicker, while the latter makes little to no noise for discreet unlocking during the night or early morning. It also has an Auto-Lock function which automatically secures your door after entry and exit.

For hands-free entry, the SwitchBot Keypad Vision Pro projects more than 30,000 infrared points which it uses to create a 3D facial map. It also uses near-infrared sending for fingerprint and palm vein recognition to read the unique pattern of your hand. This recognition system still works in low-light conditions, and whether your hands are old or dry, plus it can resist spoofing attempts using photos or videos.

With security as its top priority, SwitchBot has given its locking combo six layers of security, including AES-128 encryption, local biometric data storage, and more. With the SwitchBot app, you can check the lock’s status, notifications, history and battery life, and you’ll receive alerts and warnings about extreme weather, low battery or if your door has been left open.

For battery – which is often a top concern with smart locks – the SwitchBot Lock Ultra Max has a 4,200 mAh rechargeable battery with up to nine months of battery life. To back this up, an independent CR123A back-up battery is in place to keep the lock working when the main battery is removed for recharging. The back-up battery can support up to 500 locking or unlocking operations.

If that’s not enough, the SwitchBot Lock Ultra Max has Micro-Power Unlock that collects energy for 30 seconds before it will offer emergency locking. The SwitchBot Keypad Vision Pro also has an impressive 5,000 mAh rechargeable battery which can last up to 12 months.

Available for European locks, including profile, knob, UK oval and Swiss round cylinders, the SwitchBot Lock Ultra Max Vision Pro Combo is easy to install and shouldn’t require you to make many changes to your door.

Every piece of smart tech you own could one day be Xiaomi. The gigantic booth at the IFA show in Berlin is showing off its expansive range of products from air fryers to smart TVs and EVs.

It's all part of Xiaomi's Human x Car x Home smart ecosystem, and while most of this has been available in China for some time, we're going to be seeing much more of it in Europe soon.

There's very little that the collection doesn't touch these days. The kitchen options alone range from fridges and ovens to coffee machines, washing machines, mops and vacuums. It's the same in the living room with top-spec TVs, surround sound speakers, air purifiers and air conditioning units.

The automotive arm is the last piece of the puzzle, with two main models now established – the SU7 and the YU7. But there's also a high-performance version of the SU7, the SU7 Ultra, and a Gran Turismo Vision car created for the game but shown here in physical form.

Mijia smart home expands

The majority of Xiaomi's smart home products come under the Mijia brand. This is described as 'The Art of Smart Living' and combines the latest smart tech with classic minimalist design and often highly competitive pricing.

We first heard that Mijia products would be coming to Europe last year but in today's press conference, Xiaomi confirmed that it will 'expand at scale across Europe'.

It's not clear which products will be available in the UK as yet, but there's plenty I'd love to see. The three-drum washer dryer is very clever, while its double-stack air fryer looks like it could be a popular option.

On the stand, I saw an extractor fan that automatically activated when the gas hob was lit, and a robot vacuum that burst into action as soon as the dishwasher was started. It's this kind of connectivity where Xiaomi sees an advantage, especially connecting the home and car.

Xiaomi EVs coming in 2027

It's been three years since Xiaomi announced its first EV, the SU7, and since then we have seen numerous additions to the range, including an SU7 Ultra performance model that's broken Nurburgring records and a YU7 SUV that has now set its own autonomous track driving.

It's in the Vision Gran Turismo where we see the potential of Xiaomi's automotive progress. The car is developed purely for the game, but the model on the stand shows this could form the basis of a real hypercar in the future.

The big news for Europe, though, is that we will finally see the EVs on the road next year. A big signing ceremony at IFA marked the start of the process that should see at least one of the models on sale. I'd love to see the YU7 come to the UK, as it's perhaps the more interesting of the two designs, though the SU7 Ultra is definitely the poster child.

Folding in

The IFA stand also gave us a preview of Xiaomi's folding phone, the Fold 18. This is the first to use the Xiaomi XRING 03 processor and looks to be a real competitor to the Samsung Z Fold 8 and the rumoured Apple Fold device.

Unfortunately, this is currently only scheduled for launch in China, so we might not actually see this model in Europe anytime soon.

Mammotion has unveiled its new LUBA 4 AWD series robot lawn mower at IFA 2026, following the success of the LUBA 2 AWD and the LUBA 3 AWD, which only launched at CES at the beginning of this year. The new model is designed to offer more precise navigation, gentler turf handling and more complete edge coverage.

The LUBA 4 AWD also features an upgraded version of Mammotion's centimetre-level Tri-Fusion navigation system, allowing the mower to navigate more complex outdoor environments, respond to obstacles in real time and plan suitable routes in low-light conditions.

The LUBA 4 AWD is available in three models for different lawn sizes – the 3000F for 3,000 m², the 6000F for 6,000 m² and the 12000F for 12,000 m². Regional availability and specifications will vary by market, with pricing and availability expected to be announced later this year.

The LUBA 4 AWD is also designed to be gentler on grass, using bidirectional driving and independent front-wheel steering. Guided by front and rear cameras alongside 360° LiDAR, it can change direction without relying on forced U-turns. Instead, each wheel follows a cleaner arc, helping reduce the pivoting that can lead to grass tearing, brown rings and visible tracks.

There's also a dedicated edge-cutting accessory, designed to tackle one of the more persistent problems with even the best robot lawn mowers. It allows the LUBA 4 AWD to trim flush against walls, fences and garden edges, potentially reducing the amount of manual trimming needed afterwards.

Other announcements from Mammotion at the show include Maston, its new commercial robotic mowing solution designed to bring greater automation to large-scale grounds maintenance.

This follows brands such as Husqvarna and Navimow, which have increasingly pushed their commercial robot mowers into larger spaces including sports grounds and estates. Mammotion is now joining them, combining its robotic mowing hardware with fleet management capabilities, allowing operators to manage several machines rather than treating each mower as a separate system.

The Maston series is now available for pre-order via authorised distributors in Europe and Australia, with further purchasing and dealership information available through Mammotion's website.

Athom has introduced the Homey Portal, a new physical smart home controller that gives anyone in the room easy access to lights, music, heating and other connected devices without reaching for a phone.

The Homey Portal combines a 2.8-inch circular touchscreen with a stainless steel rotary ring, and can either sit on a desk or be mounted to a wall. Each Portal is linked to a particular room or zone, meaning the one in your kitchen can control a completely different set of devices to the one in your living room.

It's available to pre-order now for £249/€249/$249 as an introductory price for the first production batch, before rising to £299/€299/$299. It's compatible with Homey Cloud, Homey Pro (2023-2026), Homey Pro mini and Homey Self-Hosted Server, with orders expected to start shipping before the end of 2026.

The Portal can display notifications, questions that need a simple yes-or-no response and even live camera feeds. For example, someone ringing one of the best video doorbells could automatically bring up the live feed and ask whether you'd like to open the smart lock. It can also display live weather and a short forecast.

Multiple Homey Portals can be placed around the house, and each comes with both a desk stand and wall mount. They can even be set up in shared spaces such as rental properties and offices, with owners choosing exactly which controls guests can access.

For lighting, you can tap the screen to switch lights on and off or choose a Mood, then twist the ring to dial the brightness up or down. You can also adjust colour and warmth directly on the display, with support for lights connected through Homey, including the best Philips Hue lights and IKEA products.

When it comes to music, you can connect a system such as Sonos or Denon HEOS and the Portal can show what's playing, complete with album artwork. A tap skips the track, whilst a twist of the ring handles the volume.

Compatible thermostats from Nest, Tado and Honeywell can be adjusted directly from the Portal, with current and target temperatures shown on screen. It can also surface real-time and historical energy use from devices such as the Homey Energy Dongle, Shelly and HomeWizard energy meters, giving you another reason to check the Portal instead of opening yet another app.

Anker has unveiled its full IFA lineup, and there’s an impressive amount to get through, particularly if you’re into smart home tech. The launches also arrive alongside the news that Anker’s five brands will be unified under a single Anker name going forwards.

The headline announcement is Anker MindBase, a new smart home hub designed to connect devices around your home and keep household data stored locally. It’ll bring together Anker devices and Matter-compatible products from other brands, with support for Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Home Assistant. There are also dedicated AI agents for different areas of the home, whilst up to 48TB of expandable local storage can keep everything closer to home.

The first product to make use of it will be the Anker MindBase Security Kit, which is due to launch later this year. It’ll work with new products including the Eufy TrackLight Cam S1 and Eufy Video Doorbell S4, as well as many existing Eufy security devices. HomeBase S380 users will also be able to transfer their existing footage across to MindBase.

Elsewhere, there’s the new Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35, which delivers an impressive 35,000Pa of suction power alongside the HydroJet 2.0 Self Cleaning Roller Mop. We’ve luckily already managed to put the E35 Omni to the test, and our full review will be available to read tomorrow.

Interestingly, it’s also been developed to what Anker describes as “baby-grade” standards. The E35 has received TÜV certification as a “Maternal and Infant Cleaning Robot”, covering bacterial elimination, cleaning performance, noise levels and self-cleaning capabilities.

Anker has also unveiled the Eufy Robot Lawn Mower S2 Max, its first robot mower to be developed entirely in-house. Following the C15, E15 and E18, the new model doesn't require boundary wires or RTK, and uses an automatically extendable cutting arm to deliver what Anker describes as true edge-to-edge cutting.

The S2 Max also has all-wheel drive, can tackle slopes of up to 80% (38 degrees) and can map and mow areas of up to 15,000 square metres. It’s expected to launch in Europe in May 2027.

Finally, Anker has expanded its Solix energy range with the new Solarbank Max, which the company describes as the world’s first plug-in energy storage system to match home battery specifications. It offers 10kW of solar input, 7kWh of storage and up to 3,500W of AC output, with storage expandable all the way up to 42kWh.

It follows the recently launched Anker Solix Solarbank 4 Pro, which also features the brand's Plug-in Power 2.0 system, but the Solarbank Max takes things considerably further with more solar input, storage and AC output.

There’s also an energy management system capable of tracking more than 870 dynamic electricity tariffs, helping determine when it makes sense to store energy and when it could be better to sell solar power back to the grid.

Signify has officially unveiled its full lineup of Philips Hue launches at IFA 2026, ranging from a bunch of new lights to some interesting partnerships. I’m happy to say plenty of the rumours turned out to be true, including the new 4K HDMI sync box. A few were wide of the mark, though – no giant LED lounge table this time, folks.

There's also a big software update on the way called Custom AI Behaviours, which will be exclusive to the Hue Bridge Pro. Instead of manually building complicated automations, you'll be able to simply describe what you want your lights to do in everyday language, and the Hue AI assistant will create the automation for you.

There's a lot more hardware to get through, so below you'll find the biggest new launches, along with pricing and availability.

1. Philips Hue Liane 360° rope light

One of the more unusual launches is the Philips Hue Liane 360° rope light, which produces light around its entire circumference. Its flexible design means it can wrap around walls, furniture and other features, rather than being limited to the usual straight strip light setup.

It uses Philips Hue's OmniGlow technology to create a continuous diffused gradient and is available from today in the UK, Europe and North America, starting at £379.99/€429.99.

2. Philips Hue Signe and Festavia

The Signe collection is getting bigger too, with new Signe pendant, pendulum and pole designs. The pendant and pendulum are available in Europe from today, starting at £309.99/€349.99, with North American availability following in November. The Signe pole will arrive at a later date.

Festavia is also expanding with new Curtain, Net and Icicle lights, starting at £189.99/€229.99. There are new, more affordable outdoor wall lights and spots too, alongside an OmniGlow outdoor strip light starting at £259.99/€299.99.

3. Philips Hue Play Screen Sync

One rumour that turned out to be true is the new Philips Hue Play Screen Sync, which offers a completely different way to match your Hue lights with what's happening on your TV.

Instead of relying on an HDMI connection, it uses a fisheye lens and automatic calibration to capture what's happening on the screen and extend those colours into the room using the best Philips Hue lights. Crucially, that means it can work with native smart TV apps and broadcast television as well as HDMI-connected devices.

The Philips Hue Play Screen Sync is available from today, starting at £109.99/€119.99.

4. Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box 4K

We were also right about the new Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box 4K. It's a slimmer and simpler alternative to Hue's existing sync box setup, with a single HDMI connection for synchronising your lights with 4K content.

It's available from today, starting at £134.99/€149.99.

5. Philips Hue Play gradient strip lights

Philips Hue is refreshing its Play gradient strip light range as well, and this time the strips are cuttable, making it easier to get a better fit around different TV sizes and setups.

For the first time, there's also an option designed for TVs up to a huge 100 inches. Prices start at £89.88/€99.99, with availability from 15th September.

6. Two new collaborations

Finally, there are two big collaborations to talk about, starting with Sonos.

From November, selected Hue switches, including the Hue Tap Dial Switch, will be able to control Sonos speakers without you needing to open an app. You'll be able to assign Sonos Favorites to buttons, play and pause music, skip tracks and adjust the volume directly from your Hue controls.

However, the more surprising partnership is with Nanoleaf, which will bring compatible Nanoleaf Shapes into the Philips Hue ecosystem. Nanoleaf Hexagons, Triangles and Mini Triangles will be able to join Hue scenes, automations and entertainment setups, meaning products from the two brands can finally work together within the same lighting setup.

You'll need the new Philips Hue Wall Light Module, which is available from today for £34.99/€39.99. Starter kits featuring compatible Nanoleaf panels will also be available in selected markets, starting at £179.99/€199.99.

Govee has announced its IFA 2026 launches, and one of the highlights is a smart ceiling light that creates lighting based on your mood and what you're doing. The Govee Sky Ceiling Light is described by the brand as the industry's first AI-powered, mood-responsive ceiling light.

It joins several other new launches, including the COB Strip Light 2 Pro, COB Strip Light 2 and Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 Pro. AI is a big theme across the range, with Govee AI Lighting allowing users to create and personalise lighting using text, voice and image inputs. Govee says you can even have multi-turn conversations with the system, so you can describe the lighting you want and then keep refining it.

I've rounded up each of the new launches below, along with pricing, availability and when you can expect to get your hands on them.

As mentioned, the Govee Sky Ceiling Light uses AI Lighting Bot 2.0 to create lighting based on your mood. For example, if you want to feel more alert or focused, it can prioritise a specially tuned 478nm sky-blue spectrum, which Govee says is designed to support the body's natural rhythm and help maintain alertness when daylight is limited.

It arrives not long after Philips introduced its own range of skylights designed to mimic sunlight. However, Philips' models don't include smart connectivity, instead relying on an included remote control and five preset lighting scenes. Govee's model keeps the smart features, making it much easier to integrate into a wider smart home setup.

There's a huge 1,000K-10,000K colour temperature range, up to 7,000 lumens of white light and a CRI of 95. Govee's DaySync feature can also automatically adjust the lighting based on the time and weather, whilst Matter support lets it work with other compatible smart home platforms.

The Govee Sky Ceiling Light launches tomorrow for $399.99/€399.

Govee is also expanding its strip light range with the COB Strip Light 2 Pro, another new product powered by AI Lighting Bot 2.0.

You can describe the atmosphere you're after using voice or text prompts, and the strip will create a corresponding lighting scene. It features 1,344 LEDs and 16 ICs per metre, alongside Govee's RGBWWIC technology and LuminBlend+ colour engine, which are designed to produce smooth lighting across single and multiple colours. It also offers the same wide 1,000K-10,000K colour temperature range.

The 5-metre COB Strip Light 2 Pro launches tomorrow for $169.99/€179.99, and there's a more affordable COB Strip Light 2, arriving the same day for $99.99/€119.99.

Finally, Govee has launched its new Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 Pro, featuring a dual-layer lighting design with two independently controlled chips inside each light head. This allows the upper and lower sections to display different colours and effects at the same time, giving you more freedom to create colourful displays around the outside of your home.

The Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 Pro launches in the US on 7th September, priced at $499.99 for 100ft or $799.99 for 200ft. UK and European availability is yet to be confirmed.

Shark has finally launched its long-awaited PowerDetect Transformer vacuum cleaner in the UK. The 3-in-1 cleaning gadget has completely changed my mind about upright models, and it might even convince you to go back to this style of vacuum – here’s everything you need to know.

In true Shark style, the brand debuted the PowerDetect Transformer in the US in July 2026. Two months later, UK shoppers can now get their hands on the Shark PowerDetect Transformer and as someone who’s tried it (full review coming soon), I can confidently say it was well worth the wait.

The main attraction of the Shark PowerDetect Transformer is it has three vacuums in one device. As a full-size upright corded vacuum, the main bin can be removed for it to turn into a lightweight stick vacuum. From there, you can break it down even further into a handheld vacuum.

My main issue with upright vacuums is that they can be extremely bulky and heavy, but the Shark PowerDetect Transformer fixes that problem. I was recently invited to the SharkNinja offices to see it in action, and while it was a little on the heavier side in its upright form, it was easy enough to move around and lift.

Turning the Shark PowerDetect Transformer into a stick vacuum makes it significantly lighter. But my favourite part of the new 3-in-1 device was its bin – yes, really. The ‘front’ of the upright vacuum is a large bin that collects dirt and debris that it sucks up, but as a stick or handheld vacuum, it doesn’t have that main bin system.

Instead, the Shark PowerDetect Transformer has a smaller bin just below the handle of the vacuum, so it remains attached when in stick and handheld modes. It doesn’t have a huge capacity like the main bin but it contains a good amount of dirt.

When reattached to the main upright part of the Shark PowerDetect Transformer, the smaller bin automatically empties into the main dust cup, so you don’t have to empty two different bins. It’s not too loud when it does this either, and it goes through the emptying process twice to ensure it doesn’t leave anything behind.

Having tried the Shark PowerDetect Transformer myself at SharkNinja’s offices, I found putting the vacuum apart and together very easy and satisfying with the quick click. I used it to vacuum up cereal, sprinkles and other mess, and it performed exceptionally well on both carpet and hardwood floors.

Oftentimes, the Shark PowerDetect Transformer cleaned the entire mess with a single stroke. When I moved it backwards over dirt, it didn’t crush or smear the mess but picked it up in the reverse direction, too.

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer has many of Shark’s best features which as a Shark vacuum owner, I’m glad the new model didn’t get rid of them. It has Anti Hair Wrap technology to avoid tangling the brushroll, as well as reveal technology to illuminate hidden dirt with its LED light on the head.

The Shark PowerDetect Transformer also has updated, smarter features like detect technology which automatically responds to floor type, dirt levels and edges, as well as a HEPA filter for capturing allergens and preventing odor with its odour neutraliser technology.

As mentioned above, I’m currently testing the Shark PowerDetect Transformer and a full review will be out soon so stay tuned for that. But my overall first impressions when I got to try it at the SharkNinja offices was a positive one – and it might have convinced me to go back to an upright vacuum.

iRobot has officially launched the Roomba Max 875 Combo Robot + AutoWash Dock at IFA 2026, its most advanced robot vacuum and mop to date. The new flagship focuses on deeper carpet cleaning, tougher stain removal and keeping carpets dry whilst mopping, alongside a more maintenance-free docking system.

It comes with 35,000Pa of suction alongside iRobot's new SealForce Vacuuming Technology, which lowers a skirt around the chassis to create a tighter seal against carpet fibres and concentrate cleaning power where needed. It's an interesting approach when many of the best robot vacuum cleaners are chasing ever-higher suction figures, with iRobot instead focusing on how effectively that power reaches the floor.

The Roomba Max 875 Combo Robot + AutoWash Dock is available from today through iRobot's online store for £1,099/$1,199.

Mopping has been upgraded too, with ThermaMist Technology spraying heated mist to loosen dried-on stains before the PowerSpin Max Roller Mop scrubs them at 300rpm. PerfectEdge technology extends the mop towards walls, whilst LiDAR and PrecisionVision AI handle navigation and obstacle avoidance.

As mentioned, the AutoWash Dock takes care of most of the maintenance, washing the mop with 80°C water, drying it with heated air, dispensing cleaning solution and emptying the dustbin. iRobot also claims it can provide up to 90 days of hands-free maintenance.

Shark Beauty is expanding beyond its best LED face mask range with its first LED system designed to treat both the face and body. The Shark CryoGlow Clinic Face + Body has been clinically tested to target eight areas associated with signs of ageing and skin stress, including forehead lines, crow's feet, frown lines, lines around the lips, smile lines, neck, chest and hands.

“CryoGlow Clinic Face & Body is Shark Beauty’s next-generation LED system, bringing our most advanced LED technology yet to both the face and body. It’s clinic-inspired skincare for the whole body, made simple enough for every home,” said Carolyn Anderson, VP Marketing at SharkNinja UK.

The Shark CryoGlow Clinic Face + Body officially launches on 9th September, priced at £549.99 in White Gold. Shark is also launching the Clinic Face for £379.99 and Clinic Body for £249.99, giving you the option to buy the two treatments separately. All three will be available through SharkNinja and selected retailers, with additional colours confirmed to follow later this year.

The new system uses a combination of Precision Blue, Red and Deep Infrared Light, with Shark claiming twice the power of its original series for faster anti-ageing results. A structured GlowShell design holds the LEDs away from the skin to distribute the light more evenly, whilst precisely positioned LEDs are designed to provide consistent coverage across the treatment area.

Shark has also expanded the under-eye treatment that featured on the original CryoGlow. Alongside the returning InstaChill Technology, there's a new DualTemp Restore mode. This alternates between warming and cooling under the eyes, with the aim of stimulating circulation whilst soothing and brightening tired-looking skin.

However, the biggest change is the addition of dedicated body treatments. The flexible body panel can be positioned across the neck, chest and back before transforming to treat the hands, using Shark's ArcFlex Technology to maintain more even coverage across different areas. There's also a Balance & Clear mode aimed at reducing the appearance of blemishes on the back and chest, extending the system beyond anti-ageing treatments alone.
