The Philips 1000 Series Dual Basket Air Fryer has arrived in Lidl, and there's a pretty big saving to be had on this best air fryer. Despite carrying an RRP of £169.99, Lidl is selling it for just £79.99, knocking a huge £90 off the usual price.

It has a total capacity of 7.1 litres, with a removable divider that lets you switch between two 3.55-litre cooking zones and one larger MegaBasket. That makes it particularly handy for families, or anyone who uses their air fryer for more than one part of a meal.

As mentioned, it's available in Lidl stores from today. Given the size of the discount, I'd definitely check Lidl's stock checker before making a special journey, especially if previous middle-aisle deals are anything to go by.

We're seeing plenty of affordable home appliances appearing at Lidl and Aldi at the moment, including Lidl's recent £6.99 alternative to Philips' OneUp mop and a range of student-friendly kitchen buys from Aldi. However, this one stands out because it's actually a Philips product rather than a cheaper alternative or dupe, yet the price still feels very middle aisle.

The 1000 Series also comes with 10 cooking functions and six preset programmes, alongside a temperature range of 400-200°C and a 60-minute timer. We haven't reviewed this exact model at T3, but it's similar in concept to the larger Philips 5000 Series MegaBasket, which recently earned five stars in our review. That said, the 1000 Series is the more compact option, measuring 29.5 x 43.7 x 30.1cm.

Despite being T3’s resident air fryer expert, it took a lot to convince me to actually have an air fryer in my kitchen. But now that I have one, it’s quickly become one of my favourite kitchen appliances, thanks to these three features – and in spite of this one setting.

The ever-growing popularity of air fryers has always surprised me, and I initially held off getting one as I saw them as something that took the joy out of cooking. My kitchen also has two ovens, so it seemed a waste not to use them. However, after testing a few models, I came to appreciate the speed and convenience of using an air fryer, as well as the quick clean-up.

This summer is what’s really turned me into an air fryer convert, as both of my ovens have recently had issues, and the heatwaves have made it too hot to cook. I’ve been using mine constantly, and have found three air fryer features that I love and one that I never use, and quite frankly, don’t see the point of!

Air fryer features I love

1. Viewing windows

If I had to recommend any style of air fryer, I’d always say to go with a viewing window. Having a viewing window at the front or top of your air fryer allows you to quickly check on your food’s progress without disrupting the cooking by opening the drawers. Most models come with built-in lights to illuminate everything which enhances visibility.

This is the one feature that I felt was missing from air fryers, and for me, it gave ovens an edge. But now that viewing windows are more common, it definitely puts air fryers ahead of the traditional oven more than before.

2. Max Crisp

Available on select Ninja, Cuisinart and Philips air fryers, Max Crisp adds an intense burst of high heat towards the end of cooking to give your food an extra crispy texture. Most Max Crisp settings deliver temperatures up to 240°C / 450°F, and they also increase the fan speed so your food cooks quicker.

I’ve found Max Crisp to be especially helpful with cooking frozen foods. I’ve often had inconsistent results with chips and chicken goujons as they never come out as crispy as I’d like them to be, so Max Crisp has really helped with this.

3. Sync & Match

The Sync & Match feature is a real game changer. For dual basket air fryers, both drawers can be used to cook independently or at the same time, so you can make two different foods using different settings. But what makes this feature invaluable is Sync & Match which automatically sets both compartments to finish cooking at the same time.

For meal prepping or large family meals, Sync & Match means there’s no waiting around for everything to finish cooking. It also ensures your food comes out as fresh and hot as possible.

The air fryer feature I never use

1. Shake reminder

I might get some backlash for this, but I really don’t see the point of the Shake Reminder feature, and in fact, I rarely use it. On the air fryers I’ve tried, I haven’t found it to be very precise, and oftentimes, the Shake Reminder hasn’t sounded at all.

I, of course, understand the appeal of the Shake Reminder feature, especially if you chuck food in your air fryer and then go about doing other household tasks. However, I tend to stay in my kitchen while my air fryer is on to fix other parts of my meal, so I can clearly see when my food’s cooking time is at the halfway point.

Essentially, I haven’t had the best luck with the Shake Reminder feature, so it’s not a setting I’m excited about or would look for when buying an air fryer.

Bosch has just announced its new air fryer line-up, featuring three new exciting models. The standout from the new range is the Bosch Series 6 Stacked Air Fryer, featuring a double stacked basket design to save countertop room but double the cooking space.

Double stacked air fryers have become exceedingly popular after Ninja launched its Double Stack Air Fryer in 2024. Lots of other brands, including Philips and Cosori have launched their own versions, and now Bosch is joining the party.

The Bosch Series 6 Stack Drawer Air Fryer is available to buy for £209.99 at Bosch and select retailers, like John Lewis. As of writing, it’s been discounted to £159.99, saving you £50 on this new stacked air fryer.

Aldi is launching its new Mini Air Fryer that's perfect for smaller kitchens. Its compact 1.9-litre capacity makes it ideal for snacks and side dishes, but it could also be a great fit for one or two-person households where even the best air fryer can feel like overkill if it's simply too big.

The Mini Air Fryer has arrived as part of Aldi's latest Specialbuys, arriving in stores on Thursday 20th August alongside a selection of other affordable kitchen appliances. These include kettles and toasters for £11.99, as well as a Cyclonic Stick Vacuum Cleaner for £39.99.

The air fryer itself is priced at just £19.99 and comes with a three-year warranty. There are two colours to choose from – black or cream – and I have a feeling the latter could prove particularly popular.

There's a digital LED display and 60-minute timer, making it easy to keep an eye on your food, alongside adjustable temperature controls. You also get a detachable non-stick frying rack, which should make serving food and cleaning up afterwards easier.

It also has a simple single-basket layout, with the controls positioned neatly on top rather than across the front, and the LED panel displays your cooking time and temperature.

Despite what many people believe, the (not so) humble air fryer can’t actually cook everything – no matter how hard you try. Despite how quick, convenient and time-saving an air fryer is, sometimes using your hob or oven is more efficient, especially if you’re looking to cook these three foods.

I’ve covered foods you should never cook in your air fryer a few years ago in 2023. At the time, I received a surprising amount of angry emails telling me I was wrong. Looking back now that we’re in 2026 and air fryers have become more advanced, I have to agree that some of the foods in that list can in fact be cooked in an air fryer.

But now, experts at Philips a.k.a the original inventors of the air fryer are advising Brits to avoid using them to cook three common foods. According to Martin Senders, Philips’ in-house air fryer chef, “air fryers are incredibly versatile but they’re not suitable for absolutely everything.”

Senders goes on to say that “foods that are very lightweight, produce a lot of grease, or melt quickly can cause problems inside the basket because they can disrupt the hot-air circulation, leading to uneven cooking, excess smoke or a messy clean-up." Here are the three foods you should never cook in your air fryer, according to Philips.

1. Popcorn

Popcorn is very easy to make, and can be made on your stovetop or in the microwave. But in an air fryer? Senders gives that a big no. The reason is air fryers “don't circulate heat in the same way as a popcorn machine. Many kernels won't pop at all, while others can burn. Loose kernels can also be blown around the appliance and become lodged near the heating element."

2. Poppadoms

As mentioned above, foods that are lightweight don’t fare too well inside an air fryer, which is mainly down to the powerful fan that can send them flying around the basket. This is the case with poppadoms which Senders explains "often curl up, cook unevenly or burn in patches before they've had a chance to crisp properly. For the best results, stick to the cooking method recommended on the packaging."

3. Sliced cheese

Finally, placing slices of cheese in your air fryer basket is asking for trouble, especially if you want a quick clean-up – see how to clean an air fryer for the best results. “As soon as the cheese melts, it drips through the gaps, burns onto the base and creates smoke and stubborn residue that's difficult to clean,” states Senders. “Cheese works much better when it's contained inside another recipe, such as a toastie or burger."

Tefal has launched its first-ever stacked air fryer, joining the likes of Ninja, Philips and Salter. The new Tefal Ingenio Dual Stack Air Fryer has a generous 10-litre capacity alongside six preset programmes, including settings for fries, chicken, dough proving and desserts.

Despite its capacity, the Ingenio is 40% smaller than Tefal's Dual Easy Fry & Grill, making it a much better fit for kitchens with limited worktop space. However, one of the features that caught my attention most is its detachable front panels, which can be removed to make the baskets easier to fit inside the dishwasher. It's the first time Tefal has introduced the feature on one of its best air fryers, so it's particularly interesting to see it debut on the brand's first stacked model.

The Tefal Ingenio Dual Stack Air Fryer is available in black or grey with an RRP of £229.99, and can be purchased from Tefal's online store, Amazon and John Lewis.

Tefal's EvenFry technology uses a top heating element to circulate hot air and deliver evenly cooked and crispy results. The Ingenio also offers up to four cooking zones across two drawers and two racks, so you can prepare different parts of a meal at the same time.

The air fryer also comes included with two storage lids, so leftovers can be covered and stored directly in the fridge.

Forget air fryers – Ninja has just made the countertop oven more exciting with its new Double Oven Pro Countertop Oven and Air Fryer. As a 12-in-1 appliance, the Ninja Double Oven Pro can replace almost every cooking gadget in your kitchen, and gives you two ovens for the price and space of one.

Air fryers have almost completely replaced ovens, mainly due to their smaller sizes and reduced costs. But sometimes, the best option for cooking quickly and intensely is an oven, so if you want my advice, I wouldn’t look at getting rid of your oven just yet.

However, the new Ninja Double Oven Pro Countertop Oven and Air Fryer could be a game changer as it combines two ovens in an air fryer-sized design, much like traditional toaster ovens. Measuring 21.42 inches in length, 19.76 inches in width and 15.94 inches in height, the Ninja Double Oven Pro is surprisingly compact and can comfortably fit on any countertop in your kitchen.

Like most of Ninja’s air fryers, the Ninja Double Oven Pro has two cooking zones which you can use independently or simultaneously. The top and bottom ovens use DualZone technology so you can cook two different meals in two different ways at the same time.

Both ovens can be customised by function, time and temperature. With SmartFinish, the Ninja Double Oven Pro can also finish cooking meals at the same time for quicker results.

Inside, the Ninja Double Oven Pro has a huge capacity which can fit a 4.5 pound chicken, and it has 12 cooking functions to choose from, including air fry, bake, roast, grill, broil, toast, pizza, reheat and more. It can effectively replace your air fryer, oven, toaster and grill which is especially handy if you have limited kitchen space.

The Ninja Double Oven Pro looks like a cross between a microwave and toaster oven, and it has individual button and dial controls for both the top and bottom ovens. Its handles pull down like a normal oven, and there are clear viewing windows at the front so you can check on your cooking’s progress without having to open the doors.

Available in a stylish silver colour, the Ninja Double Oven Pro comes with two sheet pans, two wire racks, an air fryer basket, thermometer and a crumb tray. It’s priced at $429.99 and available to buy at SharkNinja. As of writing, it’s been discounted to $349.99 and it’s not yet available in the UK or Europe.

Considering this style of air fryer-oven is typically more US-centric, I have my doubts over whether the Ninja Double Oven Pro Cook Countertop Oven and Air Fryer will come to the UK. But if it does, I think it’ll definitely appeal to big families and those who want one appliance to do everything.

This week, I jumped on the train to London to attend a Panasonic Cooking Masterclass. It was the perfect event for a hot summer’s day – thankfully, the AC was blasting – and I got to see Panasonic’s new line-up of kitchen appliances and try them out for myself.

Before I put on my apron and started cooking, I got to have a tour of the new range from Panasonic, which included air fryers, multi-cookers, breadmakers and more. The product that caught my eye the most was its new air fryer microwave hybrid which has a traditional microwave design with air fryer-inspired settings.

Many brands are combining air fryers and microwaves together to add both appliance’s functions in one space-saving design. Brands like Smeg and Ninja have had success with this style of product, and since Panasonic invented the microwave, it only seems right that it would introduce its own model.

The Panasonic NN-CT55RW is a 4-in-1 appliance that has air fry, convection oven, inverter microwave and quartz grill functionalities. With 19 auto programmes to choose from, it’s easy to use both manually and automatically, and it gets up to an impressively high heat.

As a microwave, the Panasonic NN-CT55RW uses 1000W with seven power levels, and it has the same traditional microwave design that we all know and have in our kitchens. Inside, it has a 34cm turntable and 27 litres of space, and can reach temperatures between 30°C to 220°C.

The air fryer setting on the Panasonic NN-CT55RW is the most exciting part. Unlike a traditional microwave which has a fan at the back, the Panasonic NN-CT55RW has a top fan which circulates hot air around the appliance, just like how an air fryer works.

Instead of using a drawer, the Panasonic NN-CT55RW comes with its own version of an air fryer basket and an enamel tray which slots into the microwave on top of the turntable. The basket measures 31.6cm wide and can hold up to 800g of fries, or in my case when I tested it, a surprising amount of chicken!

During the cooking class, we made crispy chicken – a recipe I’ll definitely be trying again – as well as cheesecake bars. I was most impressed by the chicken as after coating them in crushed up cornflakes, I popped them in the Panasonic NN-CT55RW and set it to the Microwave Combi 5 setting.

To my surprise, the chef running the demonstration said it should only take six minutes to cook the chicken. Even though I cook all the time, I always get nervous about cooking chicken so I didn’t believe this timing one bit.

But I was proven wrong as the Panasonic NN-CT55RW cooked the chicken in just six minutes, and it came out fully cooked and really crispy.

I’m a very recent air fryer convert – despite having tested many and being T3’s resident air fryer expert – but I think the Panasonic NN-CT55RW has convinced me to get an air fryer microwave hybrid. I use both my air fryer and microwave on a daily basis, so having one appliance to take care of everything is a game changer.

If you’re headed to do your weekly shop in your local Lidl, the global supermarket chain has just added its own version of the Ninja Crispi air fryer to its stores. The Silvercrest Glass Air Fryer has four pre-set programmes, two glass containers, and an affordable price tag of just £59.99.

Glass air fryers have taken the kitchen by storm since Ninja debuted its Crispi air fryer in 2025. Having a glass cooking and storage container instead of a ‘normal’ air fryer compartment means you can see your food’s progress without having to open the drawer and disturb your cooking.

Since the Ninja Crispi launch, many brands have made their own versions including Cuisinart, Dreame and Salter. Now, Lidl is trying its hand with this air fryer style with the Silvercrest Glass Air Fryer that just arrived in stores. It looks almost identical to the Ninja crispi with its ‘pod’ cooking system that clips on to the glass containers.

With 1500W of power, the Silvercrest Glass Air Fryer heats up quickly and cooks from 60°C to 200°C. The controls are on the top of the ‘pod’ and includes a dial and buttons for quick and easy operation. Users can choose between air fry, roast, keep warm and re-fry pre-sets for even quicker use that’s ideal for air fryer beginners.

The Silvercrest Glass Air Fryer uses little to no oil when cooking, and Lidl states that it’s also handy for baking and grilling. It comes with two heat-resistant glass containers, including a small one with a two litre capacity, and larger one with a four litre capacity.

The glass containers can be used for cooking as well as storage. They come with cool-touch handles and leak-proof lids so you can take the containers with you on-the-go. The Silvercrest Glass Air Fryer also comes with a trivet which is dishwasher safe, just like the lids and containers.

The Silvercrest Glass Air Fryer is available to buy in select stores for £59.99. If you’re a Lidl Plus member, you can get it for £49.99. Compared to the original Ninja Crispi which is priced at £149.99, the Silvercrest Glass Air Fryer is 60% cheaper so if you’re on a budget, it looks like a good choice for your kitchen.

I've tested plenty of Philips air fryers over the years, from compact stacked basket models to dual-zone designs, but this latest one takes things in a different direction. The Philips Airfryer 5000 Series Megabasket is the brand's largest air fryer yet, combining a huge 10-litre capacity with a flexible design that can be used as one large basket or split into two.

With 3-in-1 cooking functionality and enough space to tackle much bigger meals, I was keen to see whether the Megabasket could offer something different.

Price and availability

The Philips Airfryer 5000 Series Megabasket has an RRP of £259.99 and is available to buy from Amazon.

For comparison, the original 5000 Series Dual Basket launched at the same RRP, although it's now available at a reduced price from a number of retailers, having been on the market for more than a year.

Design and features

As mentioned, the Philips Airfryer 5000 Series Megabasket comes with a generous 10-litre cooking capacity that can be used as one large Megabasket or divided into two separate 3-litre and 6-litre zones. This gives you the flexibility of a dual-basket air fryer when you're cooking different foods, whilst allowing you to combine the two compartments when you need more space for a larger meal.

That said, it measures around 44.4 x 38.3 x 35.5cm and weighs approximately 8.75kg, so you'll probably want to give it a permanent home on your kitchen worktop rather than moving it in and out of a cupboard.

The Megabasket features a 3-in-1 cooking system, combining traditional air frying with steaming and SteamFry. The standard air-frying function uses hot air to cook and crisp food, whilst the steam function introduces moisture during cooking. The more interesting option is SteamFry, which combines hot air and steam to help keep food moist on the inside whilst still achieving a crisp finish on the outside.

The air fryer also uses Philips' RapidAir Plus technology, which we've seen across many of the brand's more recent air fryers. This circulates hot air around the food to promote more even cooking, with the aim of delivering that crispy texture you'd normally associate with deep frying.

You can also adjust the cooking temperature between 40°C and 200°C, giving you plenty of flexibility depending on what you're making.

The Megabasket has a digital touchscreen display on the top front, giving you control over the cooking settings and access to 12 ingredient presets. However, as mentioned, you can still manually adjust the temperature and cooking time when needed.

One of my favourite features is Automatic SteamClean, which uses steam to loosen cooking residue inside the cooking chamber. Whilst you'll still need to give it a wipe down, it makes the entire process so much easier.

Performance

During testing, the 5000 Series Megabasket delivered the kind of cooking results I'd expect from Philips, and they were very similar to what I'd previously experienced with the 5000 Series Dual Basket. Food cooked evenly and the results felt really consistent with each meal I made. After trying the 4000 Series Stacked Basket Air Fryer, which I found a little more unpredictable with its cooking, it was nice to return to something that felt more reliable.

The whole experience also felt very familiar if you've used a Philips air fryer before. The controls are intuitive, and the cooking process doesn't take long to get used to it. I also quickly remembered how much I love the SteamFry function, particularly for roasting vegetables, which come out beautifully cooked without drying out.

One of my favourite things about the Megabasket has to be its size. It's big enough to cook larger joints of meat, which is something I couldn't always say about my previous air fryers. Pork belly roast is a firm favourite in my house, but I've always cooked it in the oven because of its size. Having the Megabasket means I can now cook it in the air fryer instead, which has drastically improved the meal altogether.

The Automatic SteamClean function is also worth a strong mention, and I don't think I'd want an air fryer without it now. It's particularly good at loosening hardened fats and burnt bits, which usually take a lot of scrubbing to remove. Instead of putting all removable parts in the dishwasher, now all I need to do is give everything a quick wipe, rinse it in the sink and leave it to dry. Considering the size of the Megabasket, this is a huge advantage.

Speaking of, one thing to be aware of is just how big the Megabasket really is. It has an unusual handle design that sticks out from the side of the main body, which I'm not sure is necessary, as a more conventional front-facing handle could have kept things more compact. I therefore recommend measuring up before you buy, as this is one air fryer you won't want to underestimate the size of.

Verdict

The Philips Airfryer 5000 Series Megabasket is a brilliant choice if you want an air fryer that's big enough for larger meals without sacrificing flexibility. Its 10-litre capacity and excellent cooking make it a pleasure to use, whilst the Automatic SteamClean is a game-changer for cleaning. It's certainly not the smallest appliance and smaller households may find it excessive, but if you've got the room, this is one of my favourite Philips air fryers yet.

Alternatives to consider

The closest alternative to the Megabasket is probably the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer. Not only are the two similarly priced, but the Ninja also features a large 10.4-litre removable drawer, alongside a divider and two crisper plates, making the overall concept very similar.

If you'd rather stick with Philips, you also can't go wrong with the original 5000 Series Dual Basket. The cooking results are similarly impressive, and its more traditional dual-basket design makes it a more suitable option for smaller families.

Ninja has finally launched its Double Stack XL Air Fryer in its popular Stone Gold colourway. The shade first became a huge hit when it launched on the Foodi MAX Dual Zone Digital Air Fryer, with people loving its neutral tones.

The Double Stack XL Air Fryer launched back in 2024 and quickly earned an impressive four-star review from us. Since then, we've seen other brands take inspiration from the same vertical approach, with the Philips 4000 Series Stacked Dual Basket Air Fryer being one example.

When it comes to the best air fryers, one brand name always stands out amongst the rest – Ninja. Ninja has become well known for its wide range of kitchen appliances, but its air fryers are some of the best you can buy, due to their impressive technology and unique designs.

The Ninja Crispi quickly became popular due to its weird and whacky design, and portability – it’s compact enough that you could even take the entire air fryer with you to the office if you wanted to. Since its launch, Ninja has launched a Pro version and its latest dual zone model, proving that glass air fryers are here to stay.

Other appliance brands have caught onto this clever design and have made their own Ninja Crispi dupes. Personally, I’d encourage you to buy the Ninja Crispi as it’s the blueprint for this style of air fryer. However, at its full price, the Ninja Crispi is £179.99 / $159.99 which could be too expensive for some.

1. Cuisinart ClearView Glass 3.8L Air Fryer

Cuisinart is one of my favourite appliance brands, and it’s really stepped up its game in the past few years, especially in the air fryer department. The brand’s take on the Ninja Crispi is the Cuisinart ClearView Glass 3.8L Air Fryer which comes with six pre-sets, a sleek design, and is priced at £99.99.

Where the Cuisinart ClearView Glass 3.8L Air Fryer differs from the Ninja Crispi is it has more viewing windows. While the main cooking container is completely glass so you can see your food’s cooking progress, the Cuisinart ClearView Glass 3.8L Air Fryer has top and front windows so you can watch your food from multiple angles.

2. Dreame Tasti 5-in-1 Portable Air Fryer

Dreame debuted in the UK market in 2024, so it’s still a relatively new appliance brand. Having said that, Dreame hasn’t done anything by halves as its launched products in almost every small and large appliance category you can think of, including the (not so) humble air fryer.

Dreame’s version of the Ninja Crispi is the Dreame Tasti – see what they did there? Another portable, glass air fryer, the Dreame Tasti uses 3D hot air technology to cook your food, and comes with two container sizes. Compared to the others on this list, the Dreame Tasti looks almost identical to the Crispi but is the pricier option at £119 / $119.

3. Salter Crisp & Go Portable Air Fryer

Salter is another budget-friendly brand that is well known for its appliance dupes. The Salter Crisp & Go came out earlier this year, and at the cheap price of £89.99, so it’s the most affordable glass air fryer option you’ll find on the market.

The Salter Crispi has the same glass container and cooking pod as the Crispi, but where it differs is its controls are on the front of the pod rather than at the top like Ninja’s. It also comes with four presets, and a 360° viewing window for maximum visibility while you’re cooking.

Ninja has just debuted its first-ever microwave, and it claims to be better than its popular Crispi glass air fryer. Using FusionCrisp technology, the Ninja Crispi Microwave combines the power of an air fryer with the speed of a microwave, making it 50% faster than a traditional oven.

Despite being the go-to name for air fryers, the Ninja Crispi Microwave is the first time that Ninja has ever developed a microwave. But in true Ninja style, it hasn’t completely ventured away from its air fryer roots, as the new Ninja Crispi Microwave can also be used as an air fryer.

Expanding its Ninja Crispi line-up, the Ninja Crispi Microwave has an internal glass cooking surface, and comes with a 5.5-quart glass container that fits inside the microwave. It can also fit a 9” x 11” baking dish, and can cook for up to 10 people at a time.

At the base of the Ninja Crispi Microwave is an XL flatbed, which not only delivers more usable cooking space but also replaces the traditional turntable action that you get from other microwaves. Measuring 14.08 inches in height, 16 inches in length and 19.65 in width, the Ninja Crispi Microwave is fairly compact, too, and can fit nicely in your kitchen.

The Ninja Crispi Microwave comes with FusionCrisp technology, which combines the speed of a 1000W microwave with the superheated rapid air power of the Crispi air fryer. When cooking meals, the Ninja Crispi Microwave starts with microwaving before automatically switching to air fryer mode to make your meals crispier.

While it looks and acts like a microwave, the Ninja Crispi Microwave has lots of settings to choose from, and is technically a 14-in-1 appliance. It comes with eight microwave pre-sets including soup, potato, popcorn, beverage, defrost, soften butter, frozen dinner and frozen vegetables, and it can reach up to 450°F.

As an air fryer, the Ninja Crispi Microwave has five air fryer pre-sets – crisp, max crisp air bake, air roast and air broil. Microwaves have somewhat lost their appeal over the years but having this type of functionality can definitely bring them back.

Available in black or silver, the Ninja Crispi Microwave is available to buy for $449 at SharkNinja. As of writing, it’s not yet available in the UK but I expect it to arrive in the UK and Europe later in the year.

When you head to your local Aldi store, you’re probably not thinking about picking up your next kitchen appliance. But Aldi has just launched a full Modern Kitchen range, featuring two air fryers, an ice cream maker, blender, kitchen and toaster set, and much more – and you won’t believe the price.

Starting with its air fryers, Aldi has introduced dual and single basket options depending on the size of your household. For bigger families, the Combi Zone Air Fryer 9L is a dual-zone model with one large drawer that can be separated into two individual baskets using a divider.

The Combi Zone Air Fryer 9L comes with 10 pre-sets, and comes with pre-heat and keep warm functions. It can get up to 200°C for quick and intense cooking, and has an LED touchscreen with white LED lights, so while it might be cheap at just £49.99, it looks great and has a good amount of controls.

For smaller kitchens, Aldi’s Haptic Air Fryer is a single basket model with a 3.5-litre capacity. Available in black or cream, the Haptic Air Fryer has eight programmes, a digital LED display and a shake reminder so your food cooks evenly. It might also be the cheapest air fryer on the market at just £29.99, so it’s budget-friendly, too.

Other standouts from the Aldi Modern Kitchen range is its new Premium Ice Cream Maker. It looks a lot like the Ninja Creami but at just £69.99, it’s a third of the price, and still performs exceptionally well. It can make ice cream, sorbet, milkshakes and even frozen cocktails, and comes with a self-cleaning function to save you the trouble.

In typical Aldi style, that’s not all that it’s launched. The retailer has also introduced its Haptic Kettle and Toaster, both of which are priced at £12.99, and can be bought separately or together. They have similar designs and colours to match your kitchen aesthetic – personally, I’ve got my eye on the blue.

Yet another new colourful appliance that caught my eye was its High Speed Blending Set. With similar looks and functions as a Nutribullet blender, this blending set comes with 11 accessories so you can blend, crush and grind almost anything in it.

Aldi’s Modern Kitchen range is due to hit stores from 16th July, so if you’ve just moved house or want to redesign your kitchen on a budget, your local Aldi has you covered.

Forget Instant Pot – IKEA has just launched its very own multi-cooker as part of its TILLREDA collection. Available online and in stores, the new IKEA TILLREDA multi-cooker has 14 pre-set programmes, and acts as a rice, slow and multi-cooker all in one device.

Over the years, IKEA has emerged as so much more than just a retailer – although we did recently name it as Retailer of the Year in the T3 Awards 2026. For example, IKEA has quickly become a popular name for smart home devices, offering easy and budget-friendly smart bulbs, plugs, switches and sensors.

If you’ve ever been to an IKEA store, you’ll know it has full kitchen, dining and living room layouts that you can get installed in your home. While the brand offers large appliances like ovens and washing machines, IKEA isn’t as well known for its smaller kitchen gadgets, but I think the IKEA TILLREDA multi-cooker is a good sign that that could be changing.

Expanding its TILLREDA collection, which currently features portable induction hobs and microwaves, the IKEA TILLREDA multi-cooker is designed by Emile Jones, and offers plenty of programmes and cooking capacity. It comes with a two litre inner pot with measurement markings, a detachable lid, silicone feet and a steamer.

Like models from Instant Pot and Ninja, the IKEA TILLREDA multi-cooker has 14 pre-set programmes to choose from. These include slow cook, bake, boil, rice, soup, stew, fry/saute, steam, bread rise, yoghurt, porridge, oatmeal, keep warm and manual mode.

Essentially, you can cook almost any meal using the IKEA TILLREDA multi-cooker, whether you’re a multi-cooker expert or beginner. Its manual mode allows you to adjust the time and temperature to your preferences via the LED display and button controls.

Measuring 21.6cm in height and 25cm diameter, the IKEA TILLREDA multi-cooker is quite small, so will take up very little space in your kitchen. Despite being small, it can make up to two litres of food at a time. If you’re on a tight budget and want a do-it-all kitchen gadget, the IKEA TILLREDA multi-cooker looks like it’ll fit the bill.

Despite being a staple in almost every kitchen in the world, the humble oven is being slowly phased out in favour of smaller yet speedier appliances, like the air fryer. But now, air fryers might need to step aside too, as the Tovala Smart Oven has just taken smart kitchen appliances to the next level.

For those new to Tovala, it’s a fresh meal delivery service, designed to help you save time in the kitchen while still eating healthy. But alongside this service, Tovala has also created its own Smart Oven and Smart Oven Pro, its countertop smart oven which expertly cooks Tovala’s chef-curated meals.

How the Tovala Smart Oven works is it scans your meal’s QR code – yes, really – and its smart technology automatically calculates how long the meal takes to cook. It doesn’t necessarily have to be used with Tovala’s meal service as you can also scan barcodes on other food packaging and the Tovala Smart Oven should calculate the right cooking instructions for you.

Like an air fryer, the Tovala Smart Oven has five modes to choose from – air fry, bake, broil, toast and reheat. It should select these options for you when used alongside Tovala meals, but alternatively, you can manually select the mode, and use the Tovala Smart Oven as a normal air fryer or oven to make your own meals.

The design of the Tovala Smart Oven is toaster oven-like, and reminds me of the Our Place Wonder Oven. As a countertop appliance, it takes up minimal room in your kitchen, or at least no more than your air fryer or microwave should do.

While I understand the premise, I think the Tovala Smart Oven is a step too far for me – I can’t see myself adding a barcode scanning oven to my kitchen anytime soon! However, for those who rely on meal delivery services, the Tovala Smart Oven seems like a great fit, and it takes out the guesswork for your meals. Being able to use it manually too is also a bonus.

The Tovala Smart Oven is available to buy for $299 while the Smart Oven Pro is priced at $349. There are plenty of introductory offers available with the smart ovens, so it’s unlikely you’ll pay full price. As of writing, Tovala and its smart ovens aren’t available in the UK.

Philips has launched its biggest air fryer yet – the new Airfryer 5000 Series Megabasket. It features a huge 10-litre basket and 3-in-1 cooking functionality, but can still be split into two separate zones so multiple dishes can be prepared at the same time.

As the inventor of the air fryer, Philips already has an impressive lineup of models, including the 4000 Series Stacked Dual Basket Air Fryer, which only launched back in January. The new 5000 Series Megabasket also bears a strong resemblance to the Philips 5000 Air Fryer & Steamer, but as mentioned, swaps its two side-by-side baskets for one large basket.

The Philips Airfryer 5000 Series Megabasket is available to buy now from Amazon for £258.99, and it should be arriving at other retailers soon.

Alongside traditional air frying, the 5000 Series Megabasket features steam cooking and Philips' signature SteamFry technology, which combines steam and hot air to deliver food that's simultaneously crispy and tender. It's also the first Philips air fryer to include an automatic SteamClean function, making the post-dinner clean-up a lot easier.

The original Philips 5000 Air Fryer & Steamer was one of my favourite air fryers released last year, so it came as no surprise when it won Best Air Fryer at the T3 Awards 2025. I'm looking forward to testing the new 5000 Series Megabasket too, so stay tuned for my full review and thoughts.

Ninja’s done it again! The brand known for designing and manufacturing the best air fryers has just launched the Crispi DualZone Air Fryer, an upgraded version of its glass air fryer – but there’s a catch for those who live in the UK.

When Ninja debuted its Crispi air fryer back in 2025, many people were surprised by its looks. Ninja is no stranger to weird and whacky designs, but a glass air fryer came as a shock to many. But while it might look odd, having a glass ‘basket’ allows you to see your cooking progress without having to open the air fryer.

Since then, Ninja has launched a Pro version of the Crispi, but it’s the new Ninja Crispi DualZone Air Fryer that I’m most excited about. As the name suggests, the Ninja Crispi DualZone now comes with two glass ‘baskets’ or containers that slot into the main air fryer’s pod.

Ninja is arguably best known for its dual zone technology, and this is now available on the Ninja Crispi DualZone, making it the first glass air fryer to use this type of tech. This means you can now cook two different meals in either zone at different temperatures, timings and settings at the same time.

Each ‘basket’ can be used independently or simultaneously, and the Ninja Crispi DualZone comes with SmartFinish, so both meals finish cooking at the same time. It also comes with the MatchCook feature which mirrors the settings across both zones so you can make more food than before.

The way the Ninja Crispi DualZone works is the ‘pod’ clicks on to the glass container, so I was curious to find out how it would attach to two containers instead of one. But according to Ninja, the ‘baskets’ slide in from the front and lock into place which seems safer and easier than how it would attach before.

Like all Ninja air fryers, the Ninja Crispi DualZone comes with six functions, including air fry, bake, roast, max crisp, recrisp and dehydrate. Powered by 1785 watts, the Ninja Crispi DualZone offers an eight-quart capacity combined, with four quarts in each container. Alongside the two containers, the air fryer also comes with storage lids and crisper plates.

The Ninja Crispi DualZone Air Fryer is available to buy for $349.99 at Ninja in bone, cyberspace, rose quartz and vista green colours. As of writing, it’s not yet available in the UK which is the slight catch with this product.

Typically with Ninja, products are launched in the US first before arriving in the UK but this can take a while – and I’m impatient! But I hope to see the Ninja Crispi Dual Zone arrive later in the year.

As T3’s Home Editor, I’ve tested many different kitchen appliances over the years, but one that I try to avoid testing if I can is the (not so) humble air fryer. Before you all collectively gasp at your screens, I’m not the problem here – it’s my husband. He loathes air fryers, so as soon as I’ve tested an air fryer, I tend to give them away to a friend or family member who will use and appreciate them more.

But sadly for him, the day has come that I won’t be parting with an appliance, and we’re officially an air fryer household now. The air fryer that won me over? It’s the Tower AIRX AI air fryer.

Now, for me, the jury is still out over whether an air fryer needs AI but I loved using the Tower AIRX AI air fryer, and it’s now my go-to appliance for quick and easy cooking – here’s why.

Tower AIRX AI air fryer review: design and features

The Tower AIRX AI air fryer is a single basket air fryer and has a streamlined design so it takes up minimal space in your kitchen. Despite being a single air fryer, the Tower AIRX AI air fryer has a generous capacity of eight litres, and the accompanying grill plate can divide up the drawer so you can cook in extra layers.

Tower uses Vortx technology for its air fryers, and the Tower AIRX AI air fryer is no exception. Powered by an 1500W motor, the Tower AIRX AI air fryer rapidly circulates hot air around food to cook up to 30% faster than an oven and reaches up to 200°C. It also cooks using little to no oil to make healthier meals.

Speaking of technology, the Tower AIRX AI air fryer is the first model from the brand to use AI technology. Inside the air fryer is a sensor that analyses the volume and heat of food within the basket, and calculates the right cooking time and temperature for your meal.

The Tower AIRX AI air fryer can be used both manually and automatically. It has six pre-sets to choose from – fries, steak, wings, prawns, fish and cupcake. All of this can be selected and customised via the HD TFT touchscreen display that sits at the top of the air fryer.

Tower AIRX AI air fryer review: performance

Visually, the Tower AIRX AI air fryer is great to look at. I don’t have a huge amount of countertop space in my kitchen, but the Tower AIRX AI air fryer took up hardly any room. The touchscreen is definitely a winner, as it’s organised neatly for each pre-set, and its manual controls are easy to use. It’s extremely clear and responsive, although at times, I had to press down hard to adjust the temperature.

I was slightly confused by the pre-sets on offer. I know that people tend to cook everything in their air fryer nowadays, but having cupcake and wings pre-sets over chicken and vegetables was surprising to me, as these are the most common foods to be cooked in an air fryer. I’d never normally cook steak in an air fryer either, but the steak pre-set worked nicely. It cooked well on the outside and gave it that nice char texture, and the inside was less cooked to retain that moisture and rawness, which I found impressive.

Other foods I used the Tower AIRX AI air fryer to cook were chicken, meatballs, bacon and vegetables. I really liked how the Tower AIRX AI air fryer cooked meat. For chicken, it didn’t dry it out and gave it a nice crust on the outside. I felt that it could make food a bit crispier but the results were still tasty and texturally pleasing.

I found the Tower AIRX AI air fryer to work exceptionally well without any oil. I’ve found with other air fryers a little oil is needed to avoid sticking but the Tower AIRX AI air fryer didn’t have an issue with this at all. It also handled marinated or saucy foods well, and while some sauces did stick to the bottom, the Tower AIRX AI air fryer was quick and easy to clean without any scrubbing or soaking involved.

My main issue with the Tower AIRX AI air fryer was its noise. While it cooked, it made hardly any noise but the beeping when it finished was incredibly loud and annoying. I also found that a shake reminder wasn’t available unless you’d selected a pre-set and I would have liked to have had that for the manual controls.

Tower AIRX AI air fryer review: verdict

For ease, speed and delicious results, I couldn’t recommend the Tower AIRX AI air fryer more. As dual baskets have taken over the air fryer space, the Tower AIRX AI air fryer shows that a single air fryer can be just as good, if not better, plus its eight litre capacity and additional grill plate makes more than enough food for everyone.

The design of the Tower AIRX AI air fryer is attractive and versatile, and is compact enough to sit in any sized kitchen. I can’t fault the cooking results either, and the clean-up was simple. At £99.99, I can ignore the beeping and the strange pre-sets, as the Tower AIRX AI air fryer is excellent value for money.

My verdict on whether you need AI in an air fryer is that I honestly don’t know. I didn’t really notice a difference between an AI air fryer and a non-AI air fryer, so I couldn’t tell you if it was needed.

Tower AIRX AI air fryer review: alternatives to consider

If it’s a single air fryer you’re after, the Instant Vortex Air Fryer is similar to the Tower AIRX AI air fryer in terms of looks and features. It’s easy to use, cooks food fast and has one-touch controls and a dial for easy customisation. It’s also got the same price as the Tower AIRX AI air fryer at £99.99.

Another great Philips single basket model is the Philips Air Fryer XXL. It might be a single basket but it’s a big’un with 1.4kg capacity which can feed up to six people. If it’s a larger capacity you want though, I’d actually recommend the Philips 4000 Series which is the brand’s stacked dual basket air fryer option. It might have two big baskets on top of each other, but it’s slim enough to fit comfortably in your kitchen.

Double stack air fryers have taken over the market, ever since Ninja debuted its Double Stack model back in 2024. Instead of placing the two baskets side by side – a very common design for dual zone air fryers – Ninja reinvented the air fryer by stacking the two baskets on top of one another.

This vertically stacked air fryer style has been adopted by many kitchens, mainly due to the space-saving design and ease of use. Since Ninja did it first, many air fryer brands have followed in its footsteps with their own designs.

Recent statistics have shown that Brits are trying to cook almost everything in their air fryer. But after seeing the results, there’s one food in the list which really shouldn’t go anywhere near your air fryer – here’s what it is and why.

I recently got an air fryer, which might come as a surprise to some as T3’s Home Editor. I’ve tested many over the years, but my husband has an aversion to air fryers so I tend to give them away to friends and family once I’m done testing. But the Tower air fryer that I’m currently using – review coming soon – has definitely converted me to the air fryer lifestyle.

I tend to cook most meat, like chicken and meatballs, in my air fryer now instead of the oven, as well as vegetables and potatoes. But after covering appliances for years, there are some foods I draw the line at cooking in an air fryer – see the 7 foods you should never cook in an air fryer for more details.

But it turns out I might be the only one who won’t use their air fryer to cook everything, as recent statistics have found that Brits are air frying almost anything they possibly can. Sourced by kitchen experts at Prestige, Brits are Google searching which foods you can cook in the air fryer – and the results are surprising.

According to Prestige, ‘can you air fry bacon’ is most commonly searched with 1,900 searches per month. Sausages are a close second at 1,200 monthly searches, with halloumi, steak and burgers following. Other foods like broccoli, corn on the cob and mushrooms also made the list, as well as pizza and garlic bread.

But the search that surprised me the most was ‘can you cook eggs in the air fryer’ which totalled to 600 monthly searches. If I can give you any advice as an air fryer reviewer, it’s that eggs should be the absolute last food you should cook in an air fryer.

Before I start getting a ton of angry emails, let me say this – eggs can be cooked in an air fryer. It just depends on the type of eggs you’re cooking. For example, fried eggs and omelettes are great in the air fryer, as they take minimal time and offer consistent results – cooked white and runny yolk for the former, and fluffy textures for the latter.

But there are three types of eggs I would never cook in an air fryer. The first is a boiled egg. Again, yes, you can cook a soft or hard boiled egg in an air fryer but if you ask me, it’s not worth the risk. I’ve seen far too many videos of people taking boiled eggs out of the air fryer and then the egg exploding.

Boiled eggs tend to explode like this in air fryers and microwaves due to the quick heating and high temperatures creating steam inside the egg that can’t easily escape. This trapped heat and pressure builds up and causes the egg’s shell and contents to explode which can seriously burn you if you’re in the blast zone.

Another type of egg you shouldn’t cook in an air fryer is poached eggs. While I’ve seen some people do it successfully, I think it’s much more hassle than it’s worth, as you need to prepare ramekins and add pre-boiled water to them before you crack the egg in and then place them in the air fryer. It’s easier and requires less equipment if you just do it the traditional way.

Finally, the third egg I wouldn’t recommend cooking in an air fryer is scrambled eggs. Scrambling eggs takes time and a lot of movement. Opening your air fryer to stir the eggs continuously stops and starts the cooking process which leads to inconsistent results. Making them on the hob gives you much more control.

Case in point: Salter has just debuted the Salter Crisp & Go, and it looks pretty identical to the Ninja Crispi. It has the same glass container and cooking pod – Ninja calls theirs the PowerPod which Salter calls theirs the CrisperHub, although where Salter’s differs is the controls are on the front of the pod rather than at the top of it like Ninja’s.

Aside from that, the Salter Crisp & Go looks eerily similar, although it looks a bit bulkier as the CrisperHub is more square compared to the rounder shape that Ninja favoured. Its glass container offers four litres of cooking capacity, and it comes with smaller 1.5-litre containers for you to take your cooked food with you on-the-go.

Speaking of on-the-go, you could even go as far as to take the whole Salter Crisp & Go with you in your bag if you wanted to cook fresh from your desk – provided there’s a plug, of course. It has 1500W of cooking power, and can heat up to temperatures of 200°C for quick and even cooking.

As the Salter Crisp & Go is made of glass, it gives you 360° views so you can see how your food is progressing. There are also four presets to choose from, as well as manual controls so it’s pretty foolproof. The Salter Crisp & Go also comes with an additional tray so you can stack layers of food within the main container for meal prepping or cooking for multiple people.

The Salter Crisp & Go is available to buy now for £89.99 at Salter. This is around £60 cheaper than the Ninja Crispi which is priced at £149.99. If you want my advice, I’d pick the Ninja Crispi as it’s the blueprint for these types of air fryers. However, if you’re on a limited budget, the Salter Crisp & Go is a good alternative.

Move aside, Ninja – Cuisinart has just launched its new ClearView Air Fryer, and it’s immediately gone to the top of my wishlist as it has my favourite air fryer feature. The Cuisinart ClearView Air Fryer has a generous capacity, multiple cooking programmes, and a viewing window – here’s everything you need to know.

Expanding its ClearView collection, the Cuisinart ClearView Air Fryer has an 8.5-litre / 9 quart capacity with a 27cm surface. Ideal for large families and dinner parties, the Cuisinart ClearView Air Fryer offers a huge amount of cooking space but it’s surprisingly compact so it can easily fit into your kitchen.

My favourite air fryer feature of all time is a viewing window. Just like an oven door, the more you open an air fryer basket to check your food, the longer it’ll take to cook as you’re constantly interrupting the cooking process. So, having a glass oven door or an air fryer viewing window takes this issue away.

As it says on the tin, the Cuisinart ClearView Air Fryer has a top and front window which offers 280° visibility so you can see how your food is getting on from all angles. The interior also has a light so you can see clearer without having to disturb the cooking cycle.

You might not know it, but Philips has a longstanding history with the air fryer. In fact, Philips introduced the first-ever commercial air fryer in 2010, so if it’s a new make or model you’re after, you’ll want to check out Philips.

T3’s Senior Home Writer, Lizzie Wilmot gave this air fryer four stars in her Philips 4000 Series Stacked Dual Basket Air Fryer review. She commented that “if you like the idea of a stacked air fryer with great visibility and classic Philips reliability, the 4000 Series is a great choice.”

Philips has thought of everything with this design, including spacious five litre baskets that stack atop one another to save kitchen space. The windows are a particular favourite feature, and the built-in light further eliminates your cooking.

The controls and display are bright and easy to use, and it comes with six ingredient pre-set programs to make things easier for beginners. Its manual controls are extensive too, and it has 13 functions to choose from, including air fry, grill, bake, roast, toast, reheat and more.

Once you get used to the timings, the Philips 4000 Series Air Fryer is hard to beat, especially in terms of cooking performance. Now the cheapest it’s ever been at Amazon, the Philips 4000 Series Air Fryer is both an air fryer and deal we’d definitely recommend.

For all their many wonders, air fryers aren’t renowned for making juicy food. Blast ingredients with enough hot dry air to get a crispy outside and the inside often ends up paying the price.

Dreame's new AeroFusion AF60, launched at the Dreame NEXT event in San Francisco, is hoping to solve this by adding a steam generator to the mix.

It might sound counterintuitive to add steam, which is notoriously wet, into an environment that relies on dry air but Dreame has designed a technology called CrispVapor that produces so-called “superheated” steam.

Superheated steam is steam heated well beyond water's boiling point until all residual moisture has been driven off. This creates a dry, high-temperature gas that transfers heat without leaving your food soggy. It’s a process seen in professional combi ovens for years but the AF60 brings a scaled-down version of it to countertops.

Dreame calls this its “steam-then-roast” approach and to achieve it, the AF60’s 800W generator heats water up to 140°C and “wraps the food in a moisture barrier” of superheated steam. A 2,500 RPM fan then circulates hot air around the food using a Coanda-effect air duct.

The Coanda effect is the same principle that gives aircraft wings lift by causing airflow to follow a curved surface around them. Inside the AF60, this means hot air follows the contours of the cooking chamber in 360-degrees, rather than blasting from a single direction and leaving cool spots.

This heat circulation is powered by a dual-source system: an infrared-coated stainless steel element at the top for rapid, radiant heat, and a PTC ceramic heater at the base that gets rid of cold spots from the bottom up. PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) materials are self-regulating meaning their electrical resistance increases as they heat up, which prevents overheating at a material level rather than relying solely on a thermostat.

Size-wise, the AF60 has a 7qt capacity, which is large enough for a whole chicken, with a 37oz detachable water tank for the steam system and control-wise, a touch panel is where the modes and temperature settings are, with 20 recipe presets built into the machine.

The AF60 is due to launch in the US in June before being released more widely but prices aren’t yet known.

Watch out, Ninja – Instant Pot has just launched its new Vortex VersaZone 12L Air Fryer, and it looks surprisingly similar to the popular Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer. Instant Pot’s new air fryer is supersized with eight functions and a large 12-litre capacity, and if I’m being honest, I think I’d pick it over the Ninja one – here’s why.

Looking at the Instant Pot Vortex VersaZone 12L Air Fryer, there’s no denying how much it looks like the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer Air Fryer. It has a similar style with its dual baskets, prominent handles and touchscreen display, although there have been some major changes from the Ninja model.

Firstly, the Instant Pot Vortex VersaZone 12L Air Fryer has a massive 12-litre capacity which is bigger than Ninja’s 10.4-litre space. However, like the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer, the main compartment of the Instant Pot Vortex VersaZone 12L Air Fryer can be split into two, so you can choose between a large 12-litre drawer or two smaller six litre zones.

What’s even better about the smaller zones is the Instant Pot Vortex VersaZone 12L Air Fryer comes with SyncCook and SyncFinish programmes. SyncCook allows you to mirror the settings in both zones so you can cook two batches of food at the same time and temperature.

Alternatively, the SyncFinish setting allows you to cook two different meals at the same time at different temperatures and programmes, and have the cooking process finish at the same time.

The Instant Pot Vortex VersaZone 12L Air Fryer comes with eight functions, including the SyncFinish and SyncCook functions. The other settings are air fry, roast, grill, bake, reheat and dehydrate, so it can be used to cook just about anything. Users can select and customise these settings with the easy icons on the display.

My favourite feature of the Instant Pot Vortex VersaZone 12L Air Fryer is its ClearCook Window. Instead of opening the air fryer drawers to check on your food’s progress, you can easily see into the air fryer with the window and the air fryer’s internal light. It also has smart indicators to show your cooking status.

Typhur has just launched its new Sync air fryer which it claims has a ‘world’s first’ feature that makes cooking your meals faster and more accurate. The Typhur Sync has a built-in wireless thermometer and comes with AI recipe suggestions, but I miss the old design – here’s why.

Compared to other air fryer brands, Typhur is still a relatively new name, having launched back in 2019. However, it quickly became well known for its Typhur Dome, the world’s fastest air fryer with a unique dome-like design that looks like something out of a sci-fi movie!

Now, Typhur has introduced a new model to its air fryer line-up called the Typhur Sync Air Fryer. Unlike the Dome, the Typhur Sync has a fairly traditional design with a square shape, touch controls at the top and a single basket with handle. I have to say, I miss the old Dome design and wish the Sync still had it but it has a surprising amount of smarts under its hood.

For starters, the Typhur Sync is being called ‘the world’s first air fryer with a fully integrated wireless thermometer’. The thermometer is a five-point wireless probe that has a +0.5°F accuracy and is designed to track your food's internal temperature in real-time so you don’t have to keep opening the basket to check on progress.

Using the Typhur app or the control panel, you simply select the meat type and ‘doneness’ level, and the thermometer will track this. When food hits the target temperature, the air fryer automatically stops cooking.

The thermometer is a clever feature although it’s not an entirely new concept as many air fryers have a hidden built-in thermometer. However, current air fryer thermometers aren’t as high tech or integrated in the design so the Typhur Sync thermometer is certainly one-of-a-kind.

Despite being a single basket air fryer, the Typhur Sync has an eight quart capacity which can fit a whole chicken inside. It has nine functions, including air fry, bake, roast, dehydrate, reheat and more, so it’s handy for air fryer beginners.

But if you want even more guidance, the Typhur Sync offers AI features via the app. The best one is the Snap & Cook feature which allows you to take a picture of your ingredients and upload them to the app where it’ll give you recipe suggestions and specific times and temperatures for each meal.

The Typhur Sync is available to buy for $219 at Typhur. As of writing, it’s not yet available in the UK.

Ninja is well known for launching its huge array of kitchen appliances in a range of stylish colours – but what a lot of people don’t realise is just how quickly those finishes sell out. Some shades disappear within weeks and either take months to come back… or never return at all.

One of the most sought-after is the stone gold finish, which is incredibly hard to get your hands on. So, when I spotted the white version of the Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone at Currys, it already felt like an achievement, but when I realised it was £70 off, I knew it was one worth sharing straight away.

Having earned five stars in its full review, the Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone is easily one of the brand’s best air fryers. It offers six cooking functions – including air fry, roast, bake and even dehydrate – giving you loads of flexibility in the kitchen. The standout feature, though, is its Dual Zone technology, which lets you cook two different foods at once and have them finish at the same time.

It also comes with a Digital Cooking Probe, which is a great addition if you cook meat regularly. You can get your steak, chicken or pork joint cooked exactly how you like it without constantly checking on it, making the whole process a lot easier.

If you’re looking for a new air fryer, chances are you’re thinking of the many features and functions you want it to have. Do you want a dual basket or a single zone? Is a touchscreen important to you or would you prefer buttons? Regardless, you’re probably not thinking too hard about what colour it should be – but you should.

Air fryers come in many shapes, sizes and colours. While black, grey and silver are the most popular, air fryers come in colours like white, blue, green, red and even rose quartz – yes, really. These more ‘unusual’ colours are typically special editions of brands’ popular models.

It goes without saying but the colour of your air fryer doesn’t affect the way it performs – but it might impact its durability and how aesthetically pleasing it looks in your kitchen. With this in mind, this is the air fryer colour you should avoid buying.

What colour air fryer should you buy?

Based on user feedback, white is the air fryer colour you should avoid. White air fryers are quite rare but they’re typically limited edition versions of popular designs, as mentioned before. While they might look nice initially, white and lighter colour air fryers can lose their colour over time.

The main reason for this is the high heat that air fryers use can cause discolouration which is more obvious on lighter colours, like white. Due to this, the white colour can turn yellow or even green which makes your air fryer look dirty and will likely make you want to replace it sooner than you might actually need to.

The white air fryer you’ve had your eye on might look nice for the first few uses, but you’re better off with a black, grey or stainless steel model. These colours are more durable and hide discolouration better, making them look cleaner for longer – although you should still be cleaning your air fryer regularly for hygiene purposes!

Another aesthetic thing to avoid is an air fryer with a gloss finish. I’m personally not a fan of super shiny appliances as finger marks and stains show up extremely easily, making them look grubby and unclean. This is the case with glossy air fryers, especially on the inside as oil and food can splatter while cooking.

Xiaomi has unveiled a new air fryer featuring 11 cooking functions, including steaming and sous vide mode. The appliance features an integrated 1.5-litre water tank, positioned on the top of the unit, making it easy to access and refill.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen an air fryer introduce a steaming function, with the Philips Airfryer 5000 Series Air Fryer and Steamer offering something similar. However, the addition of a dedicated sous vide setting is far more unusual, and could hint at a new direction for the best air fryers in general.

The new Mijia Smart Air Fryer Pro Steam & Roast Version 6.5L is currently available exclusively in China through crowdfunding, with an early pledge price of CNY 559 or around $81. It’s expected to retail at CNY 749 (around $109) once officially released, although it’s not yet clear whether the model will launch in other global markets.

The Mijia Smart Air Fryer Pro offers a temperature range between 30°C and 230°C, allowing it to handle everything from low-temperature cooking to high-heat crisping. It also features a 360° hot-air circulation system, designed to distribute heat evenly for more consistent results, and its steaming function can reach 130°C.

Like many of the brand’s smart home devices, the fryer supports Xiaomi HyperOS Connect, meaning it can be monitored and controlled remotely through the Xiaomi app. For those who prefer hands-on adjustments, there’s also a built-in front dial that allows you to tweak settings directly on the appliance.

Forget air fryers – Ninja has launched its latest pressure cooker, and it could give Instant Pot a run for its money. The new Ninja HyperHeat 6L 9-in-1 Pressure and Rice Cooker has nine cooking functions, and a ‘does-it-all’ cooking pot that can sear, sauté and even make yoghurt.

Ninja is best known for its unique, vast collection of air fryers, most of which come with multiple functions, including air frying, roasting, baking and slow cooking. Because of this, its line-up of multicookers are often overshadowed by its air fryers, but its latest pressure and rice cooker might be my favourite design from the brand yet.

It's safe to say that Ninja has become more popular due to its unusual designs, including the glass Ninja Crispi air fryer and Stanley Cup-inspired BlendBoss blender. But with the Ninja HyperHeat Pressure and Rice Cooker, it seems the brand is switching things up and keeping it simple.

The new Ninja HyperHeat Pressure and Rice Cooker looks like a ‘traditional’ multicooker, and is made up of a main pressure cooker base, a cooking pot and a pressure lid. The cooking pot is actually the most versatile part of the design as it does it all – it can sear meat, sauté vegetables and stew meals with its wide base.

The cooking pot of the Ninja HyperHeat Pressure and Rice Cooker has a six-litre capacity which can make food for up to six people at a time. Its ceramic coating also makes it easy to clean and prevents food from getting stuck while using minimal amounts of oil.

The Ninja HyperHeat Pressure and Rice Cooker has nine pre-set functions to choose from, including pressure cook, slow cook, sear/saute, steam, simmer, keep warm, rice, pasta and yoghurt. It cooks extremely fast, too, and uses HyperHeat technology to quickly pre-heat before building pressure for its pressure and slow cooking functions. For steaming, it also comes with a stainless steel steam rack.

As someone who loves hearty meals like soup and stews, I almost wish the Ninja HyperHeat Pressure and Rice Cooker had come out sooner so I could have used it to its fullest during the colder months! But it’s still an enticing multicooker that I’d like to get my hands on – and it’s not too pricey, either.

These three air fryers have the strangest designs I’ve ever seen – and they’re not cheaper than ever in Amazon’s Big Spring Sale.

The Amazon Big Spring Sale kicked off today, and it’s bursting at the seams with cheap deals across all categories. As T3’s Home Editor, I’m always looking for great prices on home and kitchen items, and not only have I found some bargains, but I’ve also found some of the strangest air fryers that are involved in the sale.

Let’s be honest, air fryers are unusual-looking appliances anyway, but we’re all used to the typical designs, featuring removable baskets and fancy control panels. But these air fryers from Ninja, Our Place and Typhur have truly unique looks, and offer an amazing cooking performance.

I’ve rounded up the three best air fryer deals from the Amazon Big Spring Sale. Their strange, unique looks will be a hit in your kitchen – as will the up to 43% discount!

If you hate cleaning your air fryer, a liner can make the world of difference to your clean-up time. But a recent TikTok has been going viral showing a very interesting way of using liners, and according to an air fryer expert, this ‘hack’ is actually wrong.

Liners are a must-have accessory for your air fryer, especially if you hate cleaning it. Using a liner in your air fryer – whether it’s reusable silicone or paper – massively cuts down your cleaning time as it contains splashes, spills and stains, and prevents it making the main basket too messy.

But where people are using their air fryer liners incorrectly is by placing them underneath the tray. In a TikTok posted by @melfyx, she places her paper liner into the air fryer basket before putting a tray on top of it.

Since this video, there’s been a debate on whether this is the right way to use an air fryer liner – and if you should use one at all. So, I spoke to Martin Senders, in-house air fryer chef at Philips who gave us his expert verdict on air fryer liners.

Senders stressed the handiness of air fryer liners when used correctly but said that “the latest TikTok trend telling people to place the air fryer liner underneath the tray will affect cooking quality, reducing the crispiness of your food.”

According to Senders, “liners should sit above the tray so that the airflow isn’t restricted.” He goes on to explain that placing the liner this way allows your air fryer to perform efficiently and it still protects the basket from any unwanted grease and grime.

To ensure your air fryer and liner are working properly, Senders states that “it’s important to weigh the liner down with enough food, as loose material can get pulled up into the heating element.” If this happens, the liner – especially if its paper – can burn and become a fire hazard.

Aside from placing your liner correctly and weighing it down properly, I’d recommend using a silicone liner for your air fryer instead, something that Senders agrees with. Not only are they designed for air fryers, but they “stay in place and allow your air fryer to work as it’s designed to. It means you get the easy clean benefits of the liner while the air circulates properly to cook food to that perfectly crisp texture.”

Pizza ovens are the latest must-have kitchen flex for those who already own every appliance known to man but still want more. And to be fair, I get it. There’s something oddly satisfying about using a sleek gadget that’s been made specifically for one job, rather than forcing your regular oven to do everything.

Clearly, I’m not the only one that thinks this. We’ve seen quite the boom in pizza ovens lately, from outdoor gas monsters built for garden parties to electric indoor models for anyone chasing that authentic pizzeria-style base. The problem is, the market’s brimming with these gadgets all promising slightly different versions of the same dream – faster cook times, better crust, and less faff.

Blackstone’s angle with its new E Series Pizza Oven Air Fryer Combo is simple – it's not just for pizza, you can do chips and nuggets, too. It’s a rotating 14-inch electric pizza oven with extra modes for fresh pizza, frozen pizza, bake, reheat and air frying, all wrapped up into one chunky countertop box.

I’ve been using Blackstone’s new pizza oven for the past month to see how well that combo idea actually holds up in real life. Here’s what I found.

Blackstone E Series Pizza Oven Air Fryer Combo review: price and availability

The Blackstone E Series Pizza Oven Air Fryer Combo was launched in late 2025 and is available to buy now in both the UK and the US.

In the UK, Blackstone lists the pizza oven as available “in store only” on its official website, with no mention of price. Thankfully, you’ll find it sold via big-name retailers online, although prices vary a lot depending on who’s got stock and what week it is. At the time of writing, you could pick it up at Currys for £349 whereas BBQWorld has it listed for £299.

In the US, pricing is a bit messier because listings vary by retailer, but its RRP stands at $395. Nevertheless, I’ve seen it on sale for as little as $215 on some sites.

Blackstone E Series Pizza Oven Air Fryer Combo review: design and build

The first thing you’re going to notice about Blackstone’s pizza oven is how big it is. It’s pretty huge, to be honest, measuring 35 x 49 x 53 cm, and weighing a hefty 12.3kg. In other words, it’s not something you can casually tuck away in a cupboard after dinner – you'll need a proper home for it. That wouldn’t be so bad if it was a sleek, sexy box, but it’s definitely not that. Nor is it something you'll want to show off when guests come ‘round or on an Instagram story. Even in plain black, it looks a little dated, with boxy edges and a front panel of fairly dull touch buttons that don’t exactly scream “premium” the way the appliance’s price would suggest.

If you’ve seen the Ooni Volt 2, you’ll know what I mean. Ooni’s electric ovens lean into that sleek, modern countertop vibe, and the Volt 2 is priced accordingly (a whole £150 more – eek). So yes, you are really paying for that premium design with the Ooni, but still, the Blackstone equivalent just doesn’t have the same appeal.

That said, the build quality is much better than the styling. The whole unit feels solid, and the pizza plate has that heavy, sturdy feel you want when you’re dealing with high heat. Thankfully, the oven’s also surprisingly well thought-out in a couple of practical ways. The viewing window is big, and the internal light is really bright, so you can actually monitor browning without constantly opening the door and dumping heat.

There’s also a small design touch I think works really well – the opening gives you a bit of extra clearance at the top when you’re sliding chunkier items in and out. This reduces the risk of you accidentally burning your knuckles when you’re throwing the pizza into what is essentially a pre-heated hot box. Phew.

Blackstone E Series Pizza Oven Air Fryer Combo review: performance and features

Despite its shortcomings in the looks department, there’s one thing you can’t deny about Blackstone’s pizza oven, and that’s its versatility. You get dedicated modes for fresh pizza, frozen pizza, air fry, bake and reheat, plus manual temperature and timer controls, and a rotating 14-inch steel plate designed to cook more evenly without you having to keep turning the pizza yourself.

In day-to-day use, the pizza side of things is the real reason this appliance exists, and once it’s behaving, it can be very good. But I do need to mention that my very first attempt was a bit of a disaster. I followed the guidance in the manual for a shop-bought fresh pizza, used the bake function as instructed, and within minutes I had an absolutely blackened base welded to the plate, while the toppings on top still looked undercooked. I am still not sure how this happened, but it instantly turned my pizza into bin food.

The good news is this was a one off event. After cleaning everything down and starting again, the problem didn’t rear its head, and it has cooked reliably since. I still think it’s worth flagging, though, because if you’re unboxing this fresh and doing your first pizza night, you don’t want the opening act to be an inedible charcoal disc. It may have been user error, a setup quirk, or just first-run weirdness, but either way, I’d recommend keeping a close eye on your first cook and not blindly trusting the printed timings.

Once I got into a rhythm, I found the cooking performance to be pretty strong. A shop-bought fresh pizza that claimed to take 11 minutes in a conventional oven came out in about seven minutes on bake, with a crispy base and nicely melted cheese. Frozen pizzas were similar, landing around the 7-8 minute mark even when the box suggested more like 10-12. That speed is the headline act here, and the rotating plate definitely helps with consistency especially if you’ve ever come across the issue of having one side perfect and one side pale when cooking pizzas in regular ovens.

Homemade pizza with fresh dough was the best surprise. The dough puffed up well, the cheese melted evenly, and it nailed that balance between crisp underneath and soft enough in the middle. When it’s on form, it really does deliver a better pizza texture than in a normal oven.

However, I did find that having to preheat the oven every time I went to cook a new pizza was a massive drag. You’re looking at around five minutes to get up to temperature, and even when you’ve just finished one pizza, you still have to wait for it to preheat again before the next one. If your plan is a rapid-fire pizza party, you might have to rethink this machine, as it does kill the vibe a bit.

Although this is most likely the issue with most electric pizza ovens, and not specific to this machine. If you want to avoid that entirely, you’re probably better off going with a real fire/gas-powered pizza oven.

Next, let’s talk about the air fryer side of things. I can confirm it works absolutely fine, and it does what it says on the tin, but it’s not the kind of air frying that’s going to replace a modern dual-zone drawer machine, if that’s what you were hoping.

When air frying in the E-series Pizza Oven, you have to use the included tray and trivet/basket setup, and you’re essentially cooking one batch at a time. Chips came out nicely crisped, and it handled the usual freezer staples without any drama. But what I think here is: if you care about air frying, you probably already own a dedicated air fryer anyway, and if you’re buying a pizza oven, the air fryer bit will be more of a novelty perk than a core reason to choose this model.

I found myself wishing Blackstone had leaned harder into the “combo” idea with more modes. Bake and reheat are handy, for sure, but for something this big, it feels like it could have pushed further into other modes, such as a roast-style function or a spatchcock chicken set up, or similar.

Still, you can’t knock this oven’s pizza-cooking performance, it just doesn’t execute it in the most efficient way.

Blackstone E Series Pizza Oven Air Fryer Combo review: verdict

The Blackstone E Series Pizza Oven Air Fryer Combo is a slightly odd appliance, because it’s both better and more limited than it first sounds. It’s better in the sense that, once you’ve got your settings dialled in, it cooks pizzas quickly and consistently, and the rotating plate plus window-and-light combo makes the process feel super easy. It also feels sturdy enough that it should stand the test of time.

However, the appliance is limited in that it’s absolutely massive for what is: a pizza cooking machine. The air fryer mode works, but it’s basic, single-batch stuff, and it’s not going to replace the convenience of a proper dual-zone air fryer with sync cooking. With preheating between pizzas taking a while, you do sometimes end up wondering if it’s easier to just bang the pizza in the oven and save the kitchen worktop space.

If you’ve got the room, love making pizza regularly, and want fast, crispy results without going outdoors, you’ll definitely have fun with it. But if you’re hoping for a true “two appliances in one” superstar, it feels more like a pizza oven with an air fryer bonus than a genuine combo alternative. For me, that’s just not worth the RRP.

Cosori has just launched a new edition of its Turbo Tower air fryer that could give the bestselling Ninja Double Stack a run for its money. The new Cosori Turbo Tower Compact 8.6-Litre Air Fryer claims to be one of the slimmest air fryers in the 8-10-litre category – but it’s much chunkier than I expected.

Launched back in 2024, the Ninja Double Stack completely revolutionised air fryer designs by stacking two baskets atop of each other rather than side to side. Since then, many manufacturers have followed in Ninja’s footsteps with similar styles – Cosori being one of them.

Cosori’s version was the Cosori Turbo Tower which we rated highly in our review. The 10.8-litre air fryer also stacked compartments and measured 40.5cm height and 30cm width. Now, the brand has made its Turbo Tower air fryer even slimmer with the new model measuring 36.5cm height and 27.5cm width, and offering 8.6-litres of capacity.

The Cosori Turbo Tower Compact 8.6-Litre Air Fryer is much slimmer than its predecessor, but you also have to take into account that it’s gone down from 10.8-litres to 8.6-litres. In pictures, it looks chunkier than I was expecting but it still takes up far less room than a ‘traditional’ dual air fryer with horizontal baskets.

Each basket has 4.3-litres of capacity which can be used independently or simultaneously. It has six functions to choose from, including air fry, roast, bake, grill, reheat and dehydrate, and can cook for up to four people at a time.

Using Cosori’s hot-air technology, the Turbo Tower Compact 8.6-Litre Air Fryer has a top-down heating system with dual DC motors for fast and even cooking results. It also has three fan speeds for precise and customisable air flow that claims to cook food up to 33% faster compared to rear-heated air fryers.

Air fryers have become one of those annoying kitchen inevitabilities. You tell yourself you’ll never bother with one, then you convince yourself it might be worth it for the odd quick meal, and suddenly, you’re doing chicken on Tuesday, wedges on Wednesday, and roast tatties on Thursday. Before you know it, you’ve turned your weekly eating schedule into a Craig David song by Sunday.

Ninja has been the brand most people associate with that air fryer takeover, and to be fair, it’s earned it. The brand’s machines are intuitive, consistent and reliable, and they tend to nail the day-to-day basics without you needing to think too hard.

Meanwhile, the rest of the industry hasn’t exactly been sat on its hands. It’s turned into a full-on air fryer arms race, with brands trying to win people over with bigger capacities and innovative features like viewing windows and app connectivity. Basically, anything that makes an air fryer feel like a proper oven replacement, rather than just the thing you fire up for frozen beige food when you’re feeling lazy.

That is exactly the lane Haier is trying to muscle into with it's incredibly long named I-Master Series 3 Flex Double Drawer Air Fryer. On paper, it has it all going on. It sports a massive 11-litre maxi-drawer that can be used as one big space or split into two zones with a divider and sync function, naturally, alongside a viewing window and internal light, plus eight cooking functions, including the lesser-seen slow cook and defrost.

I’ve been using it for the past month in place of my usual air fryer across quick weeknight dinners, full English breakfasts and, of course, more frozen chips than you can shake a spatula at. Here’s what it’s been like to live with.

The I-Master Series 3 Flex Double Drawer Air Fryer (HAF3ADW 001) is available to buy now from Haier’s official website for a UK RRP of £229.99, putting it in the more premium end of the air fryer world, particularly for a model that is trying to compete with the big-name flex-drawer crowd.

However, Haier has already discounted it quite heavily right from launch. At the time of writing, it was listed for just £149. While that's not a small difference, it’s the difference between a serious purchase and an actual bargain, especially for an 11-litre flex model like this.

Outside the UK/Europe, it gets a bit murkier. I couldn’t find an official US or Australian product listing with local pricing on Haier’s regional sites, so if you’re reading this abroad, you might be looking at imports rather than a local launch. If you do go by currency conversion on the UK RRP, £229.99 works out at roughly $310 / AU$450.

Haier I-Master Series 3 Flex Double Drawer Air Fryer review: design and build

First things first: this thing is not subtle. Thanks to its bigger-than-average capacity, it’s pretty cumbersome and looks rather bulky on a kitchen counter. Measuring around 36cm wide and just under 50cm deep, you need to be honest with yourself about your worktop space before you commit.

That said, there is a good reason behind this bigger footprint. The topline feature here is the huge maxi-drawer, which is designed in the same way many air fryers are these days – as one large cooking zone for bigger portions, or as two separate zones with a divider, so you can cook different foods at different times and temperatures. It's the kind of setup that makes a lot of sense for family cooking, or for anyone who wants to do a whole meal without juggling multiple appliances.

The best design feature is probably the viewing window. This is great because you don’t have to keep opening the drawer to check on how your food’s cooking, saving on heat escape, which can mess with cooking consistency. With this Haier air fryer, you can just tap the light button and have a gander at how the food’s doing.

There is a small catch, though. The internal light is positioned on the left side, which means visibility is best on that side. If you're using the drawer in split mode and you have food on the right, you can’t see everything. It is not a dealbreaker, but it did feel like Haier has cut corners here on including a feature that’s otherwise a big selling point.

Build-wise, the Haier air fryer does not seem all that premium. It boasts a slightly plasticky vibe, with the casing and general finish feeling a bit cheap, especially compared to some higher-end air fryer models that feel more solid. Nothing feels flimsy, though – it’s been absolutely fine during my month of use – and it looks decent, but if you are expecting it to feel expensive in hand, it doesn’t really deliver that.

Let’s get the big annoyance out of the way first, because it’s the thing that affected almost everything I cooked in this air fryer: the I-Master Series 3 Flex Double Drawer Air Fryer, wait for it, tops out at 200°C. Maybe I’m overreacting, and reviewing air fryers for a living has warped my brain into having niche, slightly unhinged expectations of an inanimate kitchen appliance. But honestly, it feels like a weird choice to me.

Sure, most air fryers sit around 200°C to 210°C, but plenty of popular models push higher for crisping - especially if they have bigger capacities like this one. My old Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer had a 230°C “max crisp” setting that’s brilliant for quickly finishing food with a proper crunch. With the Haier, you simply do not have the option for that final blast of heat.

If you want that final crunch on chips, breaded bits, roast potatoes, or anything frozen that relies on a hot blast at the end, you’ll often find yourself adding extra minutes. The problem is that extra time can dry the inside of food more than you’d like, especially with things like chicken pieces or thicker items where you want the middle to stay juicy. It’s not a dealbreaker, and perhaps the average person won’t even notice it all that much. But, for me, it’s a constant little compromise, and it feels strange to see that on such as big, family-sized air fryer.

That said, once you adjust your timings, it generally cooks well. Everyday stuff like bacon is easy and predictable, and the non-stick grill plates make it simple to turn food mid-cook without it sticking or tearing. I also found it handled bigger, busier loads better than a standard twin-basket air fryer because you’ve got so much surface area to spread food out, which is often the real limiter with air frying.

The flex drawer setup also works really well here. As one huge zone, I found the 11-litre capacity super useful for batch cooking and family meals. I managed a full English for three people in one go, with sausages, bacon and hash browns, without it feeling like I was stacking food in a way that ruins airflow.

When you add the divider, it becomes a dual-zone machine with the Sync function letting you run different times and temperatures while still having everything finish together. That is the feature that makes this style of air fryer feel like it’s actually designed for real meals, not just side dishes.

My biggest day-to-day frustration, however, has to be the controls. The air fryer’s touch-control dashboard takes way more pressing than it should. The icons and numbers are small, it’s not especially intuitive, and it feels slower to operate than rivals, especially if you’re used to the simplicity of a dial-based setup - like on the brilliantly performing Panasonic Flex NF-BC1000KXC that I reviewed recently.

The most annoying example is when a cook finishes and you realise something needs a few minutes extra heat. Instead of a quick add-time option, you’ll find yourself having to restart the whole programme just to tack on a couple of minutes, which is frustratingly long-winded.

Then there’s the machine’s unnecessarily loud shake reminder, which can be quite jarring mid-cycle. Sometimes it’s helpful, especially for chips, but most times it feels pointless, and during my time with the machine, I couldn’t find a way to turn it off. You’ll either learn to ignore it or you’ll start rolling your eyes at it pretty quickly.

You do get a good spread of cooking modes, though. Haier includes eight functions: air fry, grill, roast, bake, dry, reheat, defrost and slow cook. Defrost is a nice inclusion that you don’t always see on air fryers, and it helps the machine feel a bit more versatile than the usual presets. There’s also the hOn app connection, but based on my experience, I wouldn’t buy this expecting proper remote control in a meaningful way. It’s more like a companion for recipes and guidance than something that genuinely changes how you use the machine.

The Haier I-Master Series 3 Flex Double Drawer Air Fryer is a well-performing, big-drawer air fryer with a couple of genuinely useful ideas, especially the viewing window and the flexible split-zone setup. For family cooking and batch meals, it’s lovely and roomy, capable and generally reliable, and the range of cooking modes adds versatility.

But the 200°C max temperature is a strange limitation for a modern air fryer, and it makes crisping feel slower than it should, while the touch controls are more fiddly and long-winded than rivals. If you find it at a big discount, it becomes much easier to recommend. At full price, it's harder to justify next to more polished competition.

Watch out Ninja – Tower has launched two Elite air fryers, and I can’t decide which one I like the best! The new line-up includes the Elite 11 Litre Flexi Drawer Air Fryer and the Elite 8 Litre Dual Basket Air Fryer, both of which have versatile, spacious designs, and come with affordable price tags.

Starting with the Tower Elite 11 Litre Flexi Drawer Air Fryer, this air fryer looks similar to the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer Air Fryer with its massive single basket design. Inside, you get 11 litres of cooking space, and you can separate it into two 5.5-litre drawers with a divider.

The rounded digital screen has eight presets, including steak, chicken, fish and fires, and allows you to customise the timer, temperature and cooking settings via the dial. You can choose one setting for the entire compartment, or select two different cooking times and temperatures for when the air fryer is split into two.

Like the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer, the Tower Elite 11 Litre Flexi Drawer Air Fryer has syncing functions, including Smart Finish and Match Cook. The former allows you to cook at different temperatures and settings but cooking finishes at the same time in both baskets, while the latter matches cook settings in both zones.

Next, the Tower Elite 8 Litre Dual Basket Air Fryer has a slightly smaller capacity than the 11 Litre model, and has similar looks with its digital control panel that also has the same syncing settings. But where it’s different is it has two four litre permanent baskets which both have viewing windows.

The Tower Elite 8 Litre Dual Basket Air Fryer has internal cooking lights so you can quickly and easily see inside the air fryer via the windows. This means you don’t need to open the drawer to check in on your cooking progress which can save you time and energy.

I’ve covered air fryers for years on T3, and these designs are two of my favourite air fryer styles. Viewing windows should be a must-have at this point, and a large drawer that can be separated into multiple drawers is even more handy if you’re catering for multiple people.

The new Tower Elite air fryers are available to buy now at Tower, with the Elite 11 Litre Flexi Drawer priced at £119.99, and the Elite 8 Litre Dual Basket costing £149.99.

Salter has expanded its air fryer lineup with the launch of the new VertiCook Ultra. It features a stacked design and comes in white or grey, making it a great fit for modern kitchens where looks matter just as much as performance.

It follows on from the original VertiCook View, which launched in May last year. Both models offer the same generous 9-litre capacity, but the Ultra skips the viewing window – something plenty of people actually prefer for a more minimalist look.

With an RRP of £99.99, the VertiCook Ultra is available from Salter’s online store as well as AO.

The VertiCook Ultra comes with nine preset cooking functions, including handy options like Sync & Match and Keep Warm. Everything is controlled via a digital LED touchscreen with a control dial, and the temperature can be adjusted from 60-230°C.

Design wise, it definitely takes a few cues from Ninja’s best-looking air fryer, but at a more accessible price point. Measuring roughly 29cm x 42cm x 37cm, it’s around 40% slimmer than the VertiCook View, making it a great choice for anyone who wants a stylish air fryer without sacrificing too much counter space.

Air fryers have gone from novelty to kitchen essential at an almost alarming pace. Ninja has long been the brand to beat – partly because its machines are simple to use, partly because they’re everywhere, and partly because once you’ve done chips at a fraction of the cost of running a full oven, it’s hard to go back.

But as the space has matured, rival brands have realised they can’t 'out-Ninja' Ninja, so they’ve started adding features the market leader doesn’t have. Steam. Windows. Extra heating elements. Bigger, weirder drawers. Smarter ways to cook a whole meal at once.

Enter the Panasonic Flex (NF-BC1000KXC) Air Fryer – a 9.6-litre beast sporting not only with a removable divider for dual-zone cooking, but with a viewing window and light, 360-degree cooking with heating elements above and below the food drawee, and a built-in water tank designed to keep food moist while still crisping the outside.

I’ve been cooking with this air fryer over the past month – from lazy weeknight dinners to big weekend English breakfasts – to see if Panasonic’s clever ideas hold up in real life. This is how I got on.

Panasonic Flex Air Fryer review: price and availability

Panasonic first teased the Flex Air Fryer back in September 2025, naming the appliance its biggest air fryer model to date and positioning it as a compact oven alternative with unique and innovative features not many of its rivals have.

Since then, it’s landed properly in the UK, and the specific model I tested, the NF-BC1000KXC is now available from Panasonic’s official store or Amazon for £189.99 / $255 / AU$377. Although, I can’t seem to find it listed in stores outside of Europe, so it’s likely not available in the US just yet.

Nevertheless, that price undercuts plenty of the more premium, dual-drawer air fryer crowd while offering a bigger overall capacity than many big-name rivals. Still, it’s not cheap compared to some of the more affordable midrange options, like the Instant Vortex Plus VersaZone air fryer, but for the amount of useful cooking tech you’re getting here, it sits in a pretty sweet spot.

Panasonic Flex Air Fryer review: design and build

From the front, the Panasonic Flex looks almost…cute? It’s neat, fairly understated in black, and it doesn’t take up more worktop space in the way some of the more aggressive air fryer designs do. Then you pull the drawer out, and it just keeps going.

That depth is the headline feature here, and it’s why Panasonic can confidently say the 9.6-litre basket fits a full 30cm pizza. In practice, it’s almost liberating – no more cutting pizzas in half to squeeze them into smaller drawers. I also loved being able to lay out food in a single layer without stacking everything, which is often the real limiter with air fryers, whatever the litre volume might say on the box.

The viewing window and internal light feel like “nice-to-have” features until you live with them. Then you realise how often you normally open an air fryer drawer out of pure paranoia. Panasonic’s tempered-glass window lets you keep an eye on browning without dumping heat every five minutes, and the light can be toggled on when you actually need it. It’s a simple idea, but it makes the whole cooking process calmer especially when you’re adjusting to a new machine’s timings.

As for build quality, this is where the Flex starts to wobble (literally). The overall unit feels solid enough, and at 9.6kg it’s not exactly flimsy on the counter. But some of the key touchpoints don’t feel as premium as I expected for an appliance costing just short of 200 quid. The touch panel is fine functionally, yet it attracts smudges like nobody’s business, which looks a bit gross after a few uses. While I like that Panasonic uses touch controls plus two dials (it’s quick to set temp and time), the panel itself doesn’t have that edge that makes it look or feel expensive.

The bigger issue is the metal drawer divider. I think whoever designed this at Panasonic really needs their heads looking at. It’s astonishingly thin and flimsy for something that’s meant to be one of the product’s defining features. In the hand, it feels like I could bend it without much effort, and once it’s inside the drawer it doesn’t always feel secure or aligned, but I’ll talk more about how frustrating this is in the Performance section Nevertheless, Panasonic nailed the concept with the Flex - one big zone or two smaller zones depending on the meal but the execution of that divider feels like a big mistake. Big. Huge.

Another design note, while not as annoying as the flimsy divider, is the drawer’s height, which feels a little shallow. Panasonic’s own marketing shows a whole chicken, and yes, you can cook one, but it’ll have to be a small one. If you’re trying to roast a taller bird, like a turkey, or you’re cooking something that puffs up, clearance becomes a real consideration. I actually think the Flex would be a better product if it was slightly less “compact” overall and gave the basket a bit more room vertically.

Let’s start with the headline tech, because Panasonic isn’t just doing “air fryer but bigger” here. The Flex combines 360-degree air flow with multiple heating elements, two up top and one at the bottom. This is a big part of why it cooks so evenly. With my usual air fryer, I’m used to giving chips and wings a shake halfway through, or flipping certain foods to avoid the dreaded “one side pale, one side perfect” problem. With the Flex, however, I found myself doing that less. The bottom heat helps crisp the underside without needing constant attention, and it’s especially effective when you’re cooking flatter foods like pizza, fish fillets or breaded items.

Then there’s the “Gentle Steam” feature. Panasonic pumps steam from a 200ml rear water tank into the cooking chamber at the touch of a button, designed to hydrate the surface of food and help hot air conduct heat more evenly. In my kitchen, this was the feature that most consistently changed the results. Chicken thighs stayed noticeably juicier. Salmon came out tender rather than slightly “dry baked”, which is a common air fryer issue. Even reheating certain leftovers felt less like resurrecting them and more like actually reheating them.

You’ll have to be careful using this feature with certain foods, however, as it won’t work well if you want crispy results, like roast potatoes. If you’re using the divider, Panasonic notes that the steam function can only be used on the left zone. That’s not a dealbreaker, but it does mean you need to think about how you 'zone' your meal. If I was doing chicken (steam) and veg (no steam), I’d put the chicken on the left. If you want steam on both zones at once, you can’t – at least not in the split configuration. I never found this to be an issue during my cooking with it, though.

As for modes, you get eight presets: Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Pizza, Grill, Reheat, Defrost and Ferment, plus manual control from 35°C to 230°C. Ferment is the quirky one, aimed at yoghurt making or proofing dough, and while I’m not fermenting every week, I appreciate the ambition. It’s also a good sign that Panasonic is thinking beyond chips and nuggets, and the free Panasonic Kitchen+ app with over 80 recipes certainly leans into that idea.

On the subject of temperature, 230°C is plenty for most everyday air frying, but if you’re coming from a model with a higher “max crisp” style temperature, you may notice the difference on certain frozen foods that rely on a blast of extreme heat for a proper, satisfying crunch. The saving grace is that bottom heat and airflow combo. It crisps efficiently even without the extra few degrees, but I still would’ve liked Panasonic to push the ceiling slightly higher for pure crisping power.

The dual-zone concept is, in theory, a best-of-both-worlds setup: one huge drawer for big items (pizza, wings, tray bakes), or two independent zones with their own time and temperature, plus a sync function so everything finishes together. In practice, I mostly loved it, until the divider started acting up. Because it doesn’t always feel firmly seated, it can slip or fall if you’re loading food in a hurry, which is maddening when you’re mid-cook and trying not to dump heat. It also means you never feel 100% confident that you’ve truly separated the two zones. For an appliance that’s literally called 'Flex', that’s pretty unforgivable.

Still, the core cooking performance is excellent. In fact, it’s almost too good if you’re used to a more “standard” air fryer. The first week, I overcooked a couple of batches simply because the Flex browned food faster than I was used to with my everyday Ninja air fryer - likely thanks to the additional heat source and the way steam can help heat transfer. It doesn’t take long to adapt, but it’s worth saying – don’t assume your usual timings will translate perfectly. The window helps a lot here, because you can easily keep an eye on progress (when you remember it’s there).

Cleaning is thankfully straightforward. The basket, crisper plate and divider use a PFAS-free non-stick ceramic coating, and the crisper plate/divider are dishwasher safe, which is a bonus. After a month of use, it’s stayed pretty spick and span considering what I’ve put it through.

While my experience with the Panasonic Flex was mostly positive overall, I guess my 'wish list' item would be a temperature probe. Ninja has made the digital cooking probe feel almost essential on some of its models, and Panasonic’s ambitions to rival the brand would’ve matched perfectly with something that takes the guesswork out of bigger meat cooks. But, I guess – like with anything – you can’t have it all.

Panasonic Flex Air Fryer review: verdict

The Panasonic Flex NF-BC1000KXC Air Fryer is one of the most innovative air fryers I’ve used in a while. The big drawer is a game-changer for real family cooking, and the fact it can take a full 30cm pizza without you getting the scissors out is reason enough for some households to upgrade.

Add the viewing window, proper bottom heat, and Gentle Steam function, which makes chicken and fish come out noticeably juicier, and you’ve got an appliance that really does flirt with the idea of replacing your oven for day-to-day meals. At £189.99, it feels like strong value for what you’re getting, especially as Panasonic originally pitched it as a major, “largest to date” launch.

But I can’t ignore the abomination that is the drawer divider. It’s too flimsy, and too central to the Flex’s whole identity to be anything other than a meaningful flaw. Fix that, give the basket a bit more height, and Panasonic would have a category leader on its hands. As it stands, it’s still an excellent air fryer but just one that falls a frustrating step short of perfection.

Air fryers are easily the most popular kitchen appliance in recent years, but that’s not to say that they’re perfect. The main area where air fryers falter isn’t anything to do with cooking performance either – it’s actually the loud noises they make.

In general, air fryers don’t make a crazy amount of noise. As they rapidly circulate hot air inside the cooking chamber, air fryers tend to make a similar style and volume of noise that an oven or a cooker hood makes.

In fact, it’s been estimated that air fryers make up to 60 decibels of sound which is considered a normal amount of volume that you’d experience in a restaurant or office. But what really makes them noisy is its beeps which can be extremely loud and high-pitched.

If you use your air fryer regularly, you’ll have heard just how loud the beeps can be. Typically, your air fryer will beep as it starts its programme, after it’s preheated and when it’s finished cooking your meal. Some models will also beep to tell you when to shake the basket, so air fryers can beep between three to five times per use.

So, if your air fryer’s beeping is getting too annoying and disruptive, I’ve found this hidden feature that can effectively ‘mute’ your air fryer – here’s how to do it.

How to turn off your air fryer’s beeps

To turn off the beeping on your air fryer, all you have to do is press and hold the Time and Temperature buttons at the same time for up to five seconds. After this length of time, your air fryer’s screen will display ‘Sound Off’ which will have turned off the beeping. It goes without saying but your air fryer should be in standby mode as you do this and not cooking anything.

This hidden feature has been found to work on Ninja and Instant Pot air fryers. Some models from other brands have a similar way to stop the beeping where you hold down Stop and Cancel buttons, so it really depends on the brand, make and model of air fryer that you have.

I’d recommend checking your air fryer’s instructions first to see how you can turn it on mute. There are some older or budget models that won’t have a mute setting, so you’ll just have to put up with the loud beeping unfortunately!

Some sources suggest you can physically disconnect the internal speaker. However, this requires you to remove the control panel which is something I wouldn’t suggest and will likely void your warranty.

Xiaomi has just launched a brand new air fryer, and it’s shaping up to be a strong contender amongst the best air fryers. The new Xiaomi Smart Double Stack Air Fryer increases the capacity thanks to its clever stacked design, offering a generous 12 litres split across two vertically stacked baskets.

There are 14 preset cooking modes, all controlled via the colour LCD touchscreen on the front, and you can also connect it to the Xiaomi Home app. From there, you’ll find guided recipes, a drying mode and the option to schedule cooking up to 24 hours in advance.

It’s currently available on Xioami's online store in selected European countries for €199.99. There’s no confirmed UK launch date just yet, but the product listing is already live, and given that most of Xiaomi’s other air fryers are sold in the UK, it should follow suit.

The Smart Double Stack Air Fryer has a maximum output of 2,800W, with hot air circulating evenly around both baskets. Temperatures can be set anywhere between 40 and 230°C, and you can either cook different foods at different settings or sync both baskets at the touch of a button.

Despite its larger capacity, the design is surprisingly compact at 520 x 335 x 457mm, making it 35% smaller horizontally than Xiaomi’s Dual Zone Air Fryer 10L. The baskets and accessories are also dishwasher-safe, which is always great to see.

Watch out, Ninja – COSORI has quietly announced its new Iconic air fryer, and it definitely lives up to its name. With non-toxic materials at the forefront of its design, the COSORI Iconic air fryer is made from stainless steel and glass, setting a new standard for air fryers.

Most air fryers are constructed from plastic, ceramic, stainless steel and non-stick coatings, the latter of which leads some people to worry that their air fryer is toxic. While stainless steel does make up some elements of air fryer designs in the form baskets and racks, the COSORI Iconic air fryer is one of the first to have a stainless steel structure.

The new COSORI Iconic air fryer has both a stainless steel interior and exterior, and is built with as little plastic parts as possible. The air fryer is made up of tempered glass, a DC motor, and a metal interior with ceramic, non-stick coating on all surfaces that come in contact with food, so there’s hardly any plastic used.

Aside from looking the part, the COSORI Iconic air fryer is durable and corrosion resistant, thanks to its brushed metal finish. Located on the glass at the top of the air fryer is the controls and display, and is where you can select time, temperature and cooking function.

Despite being a single air fryer which is traditionally smaller than dual basket models, the COSORI Iconic air fryer has a generous 6.5-quart capacity. It has six functions, including air fry, bake, roast, proof, dehydrate and reheat, and it has a wide temperature range from 90 - 450°F.

As smart technology continues to take over the kitchen, the COSORI Iconic air fryer is compatible with the VeSync app which unlocks recipes and allows you to operate the air fryer remotely.

Users can also adjust time and temperature via their phone, and if you select a recipe in the app, the COSORI Iconic air fryer will automatically be set to the right specifications. The COSORI Iconic air fryer is also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls.

The COSORI Iconic air fryer is available to buy for $249 at COSORI. As of writing, UK pricing and availability has yet to be announced.

Not many people realise that Philips actually designed the world’s first air fryer back in 2010 (file that away for your next pub quiz), so I always get a little excited when the brand launches something new. The Philips 5000 Series was my favourite air fryer release of 2025 and quickly shot to the top of our best air fryer guide, so I had pretty high expectations for the new Philips 4000 Series.

This time around, Philips has gone for a stacked design with equal-sized baskets, which immediately sets it apart from its predecessors. It also looks a bit different to what we’re used to, but now brings some useful new features that I couldn’t wait to try out.

I’m not entirely sure why this discount has appeared so soon after launch, but it just makes it more affordable, so who’s complaining?

The 4000 Series immediately stands out with its thoughtful, space-saving design. Unlike traditional air fryers that dominate your countertop, this model follows recent trends with two stacked baskets, making the most of vertical space. The exterior is sleek and modern, and the controls feel premium and intuitive to the touch.

One of the biggest design highlights is the dual-basket system, featuring separate temperature and time settings for each 5-litre basket. It’s a huge convenience for families or anyone who meal preps, and despite loving the smaller basket in the 3000 and 500 Series for sides, it's nice to have two large baskets at once.

Another standout feature is that both baskets have viewing windows and internal lights, which is probably one of my favourite things about this model. You no longer have to keep opening the baskets and letting cold air in, which slows cooking time – so it’s a small feature that makes a surprisingly big difference.

The 4000 Series also features Philips’ Rapid Air Technology, circulating hot air quickly and efficiently for crispy, evenly cooked results. There are 13 cooking functions, including air fry, bake, grill, roast and more, plus six ingredient presets to make cooking simpler.

Cleaning is also easy, with both baskets and crisper trays being dishwasher-safe. Each basket also has a non-stick coatings, meaning food releases easily.

Philips 4000 Series Stacked Dual Basket Air Fryer review: performance

After a few weeks of using it, I can confidently say the Philips 4000 Series is a really strong entry into the stacked air fryer market. The design is excellent overall, but my absolute favourite feature has to be the viewing windows and built-in light. Once you’ve used an air fryer where you can actually see your food cooking, it’s very hard to go back. Being able to check progress without opening the basket just makes life easier, and I really hope Philips keeps this feature in future models.

The interface is another win. If you’ve ever used a Philips air fryer before, you’ll feel right at home here. It’s clean, intuitive and almost identical to previous models, so there’s very little learning curve involved.

In terms of performance, food was always cooked through, which I’ve put down to Philips’ Rapid Air technology. However, it did take a bit of time to get used to cooking times, especially as the 4000 Series feels slightly different in how it cooks compared to the 5000 Series. I found manual settings needed a little longer, whilst some presets ran a bit too long and could overcook food if left unchecked. Thankfully, those viewing windows came very handy whilst I was getting to everything.

You’ll also need to shake food a bit more often than with older models. Unlike the 5000 Series, which reminds you halfway through, the 4000 Series tends to beep every 10 minutes or so. This isn't a dealbreaker for me, but it does stop you getting too comfy on the sofa whilst dinner's cooking.

My biggest gripe is the basket design. Because of the rear grate (presumably to improve airflow), you can’t really soak the baskets in soapy water – something I’ve always done with my air fryer. It also means you need to be careful when cooking fatty foods like sausages, as grease can drip out when you’re handling the baskets. For this model, I’d actually recommend using paper or silicone liners, even though I usually prefer washing the baskets properly after each use.

That aside, once you get the hang of it, the results are excellent. The viewing windows, simple controls and overall design make the Philips 4000 Series a very enjoyable air fryer to use – with just a few quirks to be aware of.

The Philips 4000 Series is a confident and well-executed step into the stacked air fryer space. Its standout viewing windows, built-in light and intuitive controls make everyday cooking easier, whilst results are consistently strong once you’ve mastered the timings. It's not entirely perfect, as the basket design limits soaking and cooking times take a little getting used to, but these aren't an excuse not to buy. If you like the idea of a stacked air fryer with great visibility and classic Philips reliability, the 4000 Series is a great choice.

Philips 4000 Series Stacked Dual Basket Air Fryer review: alternatives to consider

If you’re weighing up alternatives, the Ninja Double Stack Air Fryer has a similar stacked design and is only 0.5 litres smaller in capacity, but it lacks a viewing window and is slightly more expensive – so I know which one I’d pick.

Another option is the Philips 5000 Series, which despite being much bigger horizontally and also doesn’t have a window, it's still one of the best air fryers I've ever tested. I love its dual steam and air fry function, and the cooking results were slightly easier to get a hang of, but that’s down to personal preference.

Watch out, Ninja – Haier has just launched its latest jumbo-sized air fryer, and it could give the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer a run for its money. The new Haier I-Master Series 3 Flex Double Drawer Air Fryer has a huge 11.5-litre capacity and dual zone cooking technology that’s ideal for batch cooking and healthy new years meal prepping.

Haier is arguably best known for its larger appliances, like ovens, but its air fryers are also seriously impressive. Its latest launch, the Haier I-Master Series 3 Flex Double Drawer Air Fryer is designed to offer flexibility in the kitchen, something busy households definitely need.

The Haier I-Master Series 3 Flex Double Drawer Air Fryer looks similar to the Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer air fryer with its large flexible maxi-drawer that can be used as one large basket or two compartments. The entire capacity of the air fryer is 11.5-litres, but you can split it down the middle with the divider to make smaller compartments for multiple meals or sides.

Once you’ve divided the Haier I-Master Series 3 Flex Double Drawer Air Fryer, you can cook in each zone using its dual zone technology. Each basket has its own heating element, so you can cook at different temperatures and times but have your meal finish at the same time with its Sync function.

Like most air fryers nowadays, the Haier I-Master Series 3 Flex Double Drawer Air Fryer could effectively replace some of your other kitchen appliances. It has eight functions, including air fry, roast, bake, grill, slow cook, dry, reheat and defrost, so it could also be used as an oven, microwave and more.

My favourite feature of the Haier I-Master Series 3 Flex Double Drawer Air Fryer is its viewing window. Instead of opening the drawer and disrupting your cooking, you can quickly check in on your food’s progress via the viewing window. It also has an internal light, a feature I predict more air fryers introducing in 2026.

Similar to other air fryers of this size, the Haier I-Master Series 3 Flex Double Drawer Air Fryer is priced at £229.99 and available to buy at Haier.

Despite their surge in popularity happening a few years ago, the best air fryers are still right at the top of many Christmas wish lists every year. It actually makes a lot of sense – new and more exciting models are launching all the time, which means the air fryers that took over our kitchens during lockdown are starting to feel a little outdated.

Most baskets and trays are dishwasher-safe, but checking first is always a good idea. You should also get into the habit of wiping the inside after use and cleaning the basket regularly to stop grease build-up and lingering smells.

Remember to let everything cool before washing, and avoid abrasive sponges that can damage non-stick coatings.

Not sure what to do with your Christmas leftovers? Well, this Jamie Oliver air fryer hack looks like it could reinvent the classic bubble and squeak – and it only takes 20 minutes!

Celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver has really gone in on all things air fryers this year. As part of his 20 year-long collaboration with Tefal, Oliver and Tefal teamed up on a new dual basket air fryer for 2025, which has two asymmetrical baskets, a generous 8.3-litre capacity and subtle Jamie Oliver x Tefal branding.

Aside from his very own air fryer, Oliver also released his Easy Air Fryer cookbook and has his own air fryer TV series – so it’s safe to say that he knows a thing or two about air fryer cooking. Now, he has a solution for your Christmas leftovers that uses up all your leftover vegetables.

In a recent video posted on his Instagram page, he says to get rid of your leftover vegetables, you should simply “chuck it in the air fryer.” In his video, he’s seen chopping up Brussel sprouts, parsnips, carrots and potatoes into small pieces and mashing them up with a potato masher.

From there, he rolls the mixture into balls before air frying them for 20 minutes. Instead of using the classic fried technique for bubble and squeak, this version is slightly healthier as it doesn’t use as much oil as you would with a frying pan.

Christmas and New Years isn’t exactly the time to be worrying about avoiding too much food and drink, but this new bubble and squeak air fryer method does cut down on some oil and fats, while helping you trim down on your leftovers.
