Garmin watches are discounted fairly regularly these days, but deals on the flagship Fenix range are still the ones that tend to make me pay attention.

This one especially caught my eye, as H.Samuel has taken a huge chunk off the price of its exclusive version of the Garmin Fenix 8, bringing one of the best Garmin watches down into considerably more approachable territory.

The model in question is the 47mm Garmin Fenix 8 with an AMOLED display, slate grey finish and black silicone band. H.Samuel specifically describes it as an exclusive colourway, and it carries the model number 010-02904-01.

That's worth pointing out because Garmin's regular slate grey and black 47mm AMOLED model uses a slightly different 010-02904-00 model number. Visually, the distinction between the two is certainly subtle, but if you want this particular H.Samuel version, you won't find the exact same SKU everywhere else.

More importantly, you aren't getting a cut-down version of the Fenix 8. This is Garmin's full-fat adventure watch, complete with its bright AMOLED touchscreen, built-in LED flashlight, speaker and microphone, offline maps and multi-band GPS.

It also offers the enormous selection of sports, training and recovery features that has made the Fenix series such a firm favourite among runners, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts. Training Readiness, Training Status, advanced workout tools and navigation features are all present, while the 10 ATM water rating and dive functionality mean it's built for significantly more than tracking the occasional 5K.

Battery life is another major reason I'd still choose a Fenix over most conventional smartwatches. Garmin quotes up to 16 days in smartwatch mode for the 47mm AMOLED version, or seven days with the always-on display enabled.

There is now a newer Fenix 8 Pro in Garmin's line-up, but the big additions there are LTE and satellite connectivity. If you don't need to send messages or trigger an SOS without your phone, the standard Fenix 8 remains an incredibly capable multisport watch.

I've seen the regular Fenix 8 47mm fall close to this price before, but I haven't found this particular H.Samuel-exclusive model cheaper.

The Garmin Fenix 8 Exclusive Colour 47mm is available from H.Samuel for £549.99, down from £789.99, which works out as a saving of £240 or 30%.

Plenty of familiar Timex designs are included, from affordable everyday pieces to models from the Q Timex and Marlin families, but one watch in particular caught my eye. The Timex Harborside Coast Automatic normally costs £180, so the 25% discount knocks £45 off and brings it down to a remarkable £135.

That's particularly tempting because this isn't simply another inexpensive quartz watch. The Harborside Coast uses a 24-jewel mechanical automatic movement that winds itself with the motion of your wrist.

It's housed inside a chunky 43mm case and paired with an adjustable stainless-steel bracelet, while the styling takes plenty of inspiration from classic dive watches.

You get a rotating bezel with an anodised aluminium insert, a magnified date window and luminous hands and hour markers. Timex also lists mineral glass and 100 metres of water resistance.

At 43mm, it's certainly not for anyone looking for a small or particularly discreet watch, but that's hardly the point. For £135, you're getting a proper self-winding mechanical watch from an established brand, complete with a steel bracelet and plenty of sporty wrist presence.

You'll need to enter SUNSET25 at checkout to get the discounted price, and, as ever with promotions like this, I'd expect the more desirable models to disappear first.

Ranking the best gaming headsets on the market got a lot more complicated late last year when SteelSeries launched the Arctis Nova Elite, by far the most expensive mainstream headset I'd ever tested. It was and remains an absolute beauty, and it's the headset I return to between reviews, making it clearly my favourite.

It's also ferociously pricy, which means it's always worth paying attention when it gets a discount, however slight. Well, the one available right now really isn't slight – it knocks a full £100 off the Nova Elite, taking it down from £600 to £500. Sure, that remains really expensive, but it's the biggest price cut we've seen on the headset since the day it launched.

As I've said, I keep coming back to the Nova Elite, and perhaps the key clincher there for me has been its omni-compatibility. Plug this into any of the major consoles, and it'll work, but you can also mix and match inputs at will. That makes it unbelievably flexible, and for me it's a one-stop solution on my desk.

Of course, it helps that its sound quality is best-in-class, and I've long found SteelSeries' design to be the most comfortable for me on the market. Its headband suspends weight really impressively, especially in the Nova Elite's case, since it's heavier as a result of premium material choices.

The simple fact is that if I could keep only one headset that I've tested in the last five years, it would be this one. While that doesn't make its price sensible, by any stretch, it should put it on plenty of gamers' wishlists, which in turn means that when a £100 off deal like this one comes around, it's worth considering pretty carefully.

If your idea of a great watch involves a gold bracelet, a small digital display and enough retro styling to look like something your dad might have worn in the 1980s, I’ve found a very tempting deal.

The Timex x MM6 T80 34mm Watch Set is currently £109 at Flannels, down from its usual £215 price. That’s a saving of £106, or just over 49%, on one of the more unusual versions of Timex’s much-loved digital watch.

The T80 is already one of Timex’s most overtly retro watches, but this particular model was created in collaboration with MM6 Maison Margiela, the contemporary line from influential Paris fashion house Maison Margiela.

The collaboration takes the familiar T80 model and gives it a bold gold-tone makeover, with a polished 34mm stainless steel case and a matching brushed-and-polished stainless steel bracelet.

Under the mineral lens is a mirrored mask marked with numbers from 0 to 23, with the number six circled in reference to MM6’s numerical branding.

Despite the design overhaul, you still get all the functionality of the original model, including a chronograph, daily alarm, timer, month and date display, plus Timex’s excellent INDIGLO backlight for checking the time in the dark.

The MM6 is sold as a gift set and comes with a separate gold-tone stainless steel bracelet, which you can wear with the watch or on its own. Timex says that gives you three different ways to wear the set.

At £215, the fashion collaboration carries a fairly hefty premium over a regular 34mm T80, which Timex currently sells from £105. At £109, however, you’re getting the MM6 version for essentially standard-T80 money.

With summer starting to wind down, IKEA has launched a sizeable sale across its indoor and outdoor lighting, with plenty of designs now available for considerably less than their usual prices.

The discounts stretch across table lamps, floor lamps, decorative lighting and outdoor designs, so there are plenty of options if you're already thinking about making your home feel a little cosier heading into autumn.

I've picked out some of the best deals worth checking out before the sale ends.

It's only a matter of days since I tested the beautiful XPS 13, a machine with possibly the best design of any Windows laptop I've tested in recent years, let down by one fatal flaw – its fairly outrageous UK price.

Now, reacting to what it probably already knew (that its UK pricing made no sense compared to the US), Dell has set live a really quite tasty deal on the laptop, which marks one of the quicker discounts you'll ever see on new computing hardware.

You can currently grab the XPS 13 for a very precise £769.02, down £130 from its normal starting price of £899, which marks a pretty sizeable reduction and brings the laptop down closer to a price that makes sense based on its specs.

This is classic Dell, in some ways – it's a big enough corporation that this sort of promotional offer sometimes does come along just after a device has launched, as baffling as that may seem. Crucially, in a world where almost every device seems to get a price hike soon after launch as memory prices keep climbing, it's not impossible that this deal will be the cheapest the laptop ever gets here in the UK.

The XPS 13 was one of the most confounding devices to review that I've ever encountered, thanks to that launch price. That obviously means, though, that there were a whole heap of positives to offset the cost, including a gorgeous metal build, and almost unbelievable portability.

It also has a frankly brilliant little display, and while the lack of ports could be an issue for some professionals, it's hard to imagine a better Windows machine for studying at whatever level you might like.

So, if you were on the fence about the XPS 13 because of its pricing (and who could blame you), think long and hard about whether this is going to be the best moment to pick one up. It might just be!

While I haven't reviewed every single video doorbell in the Tapo range from TP-Link, I did recently take a look at the Tapo D235 for T3 – awarding it 5 stars for being "packed with features, versatile, well priced" and offering "really good video and audio".

Something worth factoring into your considerations: while there is a Tapo subscription to store video recordings in the cloud, it's not essential. You can instead opt for local storage via a microSD card, so there are no ongoing costs.

As well as covering all the basics for a video doorbell – so quick, easy access to your video feed from your phone, and a solid, sensible design – you get integrations with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings, giving you plenty of options for connecting this up to the rest of your smart home kit.

It's worth going through everything that the Tapo D205 video doorbell offers, because there's a lot here. The 160-degree field of view gives you a comprehensive look outside your property, day or night – with the crisp black-and-white night vision taking over when the light drops.

There's AI-powered person detection built right in, again with no subscription necessary. That means the Tapo app lets you know when there's someone at your door, as opposed to the neighbour's dog or a passing delivery van. That cuts down on the number of alerts you get and how often you have to keep checking your phone.

If there is someone at your door, wherever you are in the world, you can opt for a standard call to your doorbell when the button is pushed. No need to open the app, or wait for video to load: just chat to whoever is calling right away. You can also set up preset responses to be sent when you're not at home.

On top of that, you've got the hassle-free setup, with no cabling and very little in the way of mounting. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery in the doorbell can last up to 180 days, but there's an external charging port, so you can top up the camera without needing to take it down.

I've come across a lot of mesh Wi-Fi systems in my time contributing to T3, but even so, the TP-Link Deco BE68 system stood out: I gave it 5-stars in my review, offering plenty of praise for its "heavy-duty wireless performance" and "straightforward" setup.

The only slight reservation I had about the TP-Link Deco BE68 at the time was the price, but Amazon has done something about that by reducing it to £599.99 – a discount of £250, or 29%.

What you get for your money is home Wi-Fi that's free from dead zones and slowdowns, so you get the maximum possible speeds from whatever your broadband provider is pushing into your home.

You can read through my TP-Link Deco BE68 review for the full rundown on this product and how impressive it is, but here are the highlights: it starts with the ease with which you can get this system in place, with the help of the TP-Link app on your phone. Even if you've never set up a mesh network before, you'll be up and running in minutes.

Then it's on to the really important stuff. You get a triple-band (2.4GHz, 5GHz, 6GHz) system to make use of, with a theoretical maximum speed limit of 14Gbps, and of course support for the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard – which is now common on many of the latest phones, tablets, and laptops on the market.

TP-Link says the network is able to cover up to 8,100 square feet (a little over 750 square metres), with the capacity to take on 200 devices – surely enough for even the busiest households. In my testing, I noticed a substantial difference in speed and connectivity compared to my regular standalone router, especially in remote parts of the house.

There is an optional subscription that includes extras such as a VPN and parental controls, but the TP-Link Deco BE68 runs fine without it, and with this latest Amazon deal you're going to save plenty of money up-front. If you've been waiting to take the plunge into Wi-Fi 7 or mesh networking, now might be the perfect time.

MIni PCs have certainly grown in popularity over the last couple of years, thanks to rapid improvements in processor speeds and integrated graphics chips. And Geekom is one of the brands that continues to impress.

Indeed, I use at least one Geekom mini PC on a daily basis, after making my own retro gaming console and, as part of a separate project, a Steam Machine equivalent out of a couple of models.

From my own experience, they are built very well, with solid aluminium cases and neat and compact form factors. They are also surprisingly quiet in operation for most use cases, and work as very capable alternatives to a Mac mini.

Having waited for months to watch Project Hail Mary on 4K Blu-ray, the movie quickly secured its spot among my favourites of the year.

That has also seen me become slightly obsessed with Rocky and co – including this wonderful Lego Icons set of the Hail Mary spacecraft.

As with anything Lego, however, it's not necessarily an impulse buy. Not that its £99.99 list price is anything like the big-scale Star Wars sets, but it's still fairly rich – until now, that is, as the set has dropped almost a quarter to its lowest-ever price.

While the Hail Mary ship looks great – and you even have to make the functional stand that goes with it – it's really the Ryan Gosling (sorry, Ryland Grace) Minifigure, red space suit and all, and Rocky figure that really make this set.

If, like me, you're running low on space for Lego builds – there are only so many shelves one can dedicate to the art – then this set's dimensions may be integral to your purchase decision. At 30cm high, 25cm long and 22cm wide, it's roughly the size of a large dinner plate. Just, y'know, Lego and therefore far superior.

Amazon had been selling the #11389 Lego Icons set at full price until May of this year, when it began to dip. It dipped below £85 in a sale back in June, but this new drop marks its lowest-ever position in orbit.

With payday on the horizon, this near-to-25% discount certainly adds to the appeal. It makes me want to go and watch the movie all over again too – which, on 4K Blu-ray, is the best-looking home transfer that you'll get outside of an IMAX cinema, as much of the flick was designed with the 1.43 aspect ratio.

At just over £40, it competes with cheap fashion watches rather than smartwatches, but with far more personality. If you’ve been tempted by Casio’s recent retro revival but want something a little more unusual than the classic F-91W, this is a very easy recommendation.

As a smart home expert, I’m often asked what device you actually need to protect and monitor your home. Every time without fail, I always recommend a video doorbell for both smart security beginners and experts.

I’ve had my video doorbell for a few years now, and it’s still the most invaluable piece of technology I have for my home. Having it installed means I never miss packages, I can talk to visitors and I can quickly check up on my home while I’m away.

The biggest show on earth is back – and it might feel like just yesterday that the World Cup ended, too. Football waits for nobody, though, which means you've got a matter of hours before the Premier League is back in action, with Arsenal kicking off at home to Coventry on Friday evening.

Every year I find myself doing the same scramble this week of the year, realising that I don't have a deal lined up to avoid paying the maximum price for the next 10 or so months of football.

Thankfully, it's pretty reliable that every year there are some last-minute deals from the big broadcasters as they look for subscribers. My provider of choice is Now, since it offers me the flexibility to access sport without needing to sign up for a bigger contract or commitment.

This year, its deal is actually looking pretty excellent – giving you a full 12-month option on the Sports pass, with its Boost package included to give you proper 1080p streaming, at £27.99 a month.

Of course, if you're already a Now subscriber, like me, you might want to check in on something else first. When I went to cancel my current Sports pass, since it had reverted to the maximum price of £34.99 a month, I was eventually offered 12 months of £19.99 a month for the pass alone.

As someone who already had Ultra Boost in my package, getting me 4K quality on my streams, that was a no-brainer, and you might find a similar offer in your account when you push through to cancellation. It's definitely worth checking!

More good news came this week for Sky and Now users, too, in the form of a new multiview mode that will debut this week on Sky and later in the season on Now. It'll let you select multiple channels to watch at once, with your choice of which audio to foreground.

That could be huge for big matchdays where multiple games coincide, or just for giving yourself sensory overload if you prefer.

If you’ve been waiting for a Garmin outdoor watch that doesn’t cost Fenix money, this could be the deal to watch. The Garmin Instinct 2X Solar has dropped to just £199.99 at Ernest Jones, saving £140 off its usual £339.99 price tag.

The Instinct 2X Solar sits in a slightly different corner of Garmin’s ecosystem to the company’s premium Fenix and Epix watches. It focuses on being a tough, dependable companion, with a rugged fibre-reinforced polymer case, solar charging and a monochrome display designed to be readable in bright sunlight.

Despite its more utilitarian appearance, it still packs many of the features that make Garmin watches so popular with runners, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. You get built-in GPS, extensive sports tracking, health monitoring, navigation tools, and a built-in LED flashlight.

The biggest selling point remains battery life. Thanks to Garmin’s Power Glass solar charging lens, the Instinct 2X Solar can last dramatically longer than most smartwatches, making it a great option for multi-day hikes, camping trips and anyone who doesn’t want to charge their watch every night.

Newer Instinct models are available, but the Instinct 2X Solar remains a very capable watch, especially at this price. If you’ve been tempted by Garmin’s adventure watches but couldn’t justify spending several hundred pounds, this is one of the easiest recommendations right now.

When heading off to university, the obvious bag choices usually involve laptop compartments, canvas totes or whatever happens to be trending on campus.

But The North Face’s Base Camp Dry Bag makes a surprisingly strong case for something a little different.

The latest MacBook Pro models have taken performance to a new level with the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. These workhorse machines are designed for creative professionals that need super fast processing for audio, video or AI tasks.

Available in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, they feature Liquid Retina XDR displays with 1600 nits peak HDr brightness and MproMotion technology for adaptive refresh rates of up to 120Hz.

Machines are configurable with upto 48GB of memory and up to 8TB of storage, depending on the model and have a battery that can provide up to 24 hours of video streaming.

Casio has made plenty of strange watches over the years, but few are quite as gloriously unnecessary as the CRW-001G-9ER Ring Watch. Essentially a classic Casio digital watch shrunk down until it fits around your finger, the gold-coloured wearable normally costs £119.

Due to the intensely hot weather we’ve been experiencing in the UK, I’ve been spending more and more time in my garden. The evenings stay bright for quite a long time, but I’ve been looking to upgrade my outdoor smart lights so I can enjoy the summer nights for longer.

Amazon has dropped the Black model to £186.59, down from its £219.99 RRP. That’s a saving of £33.40, or 15%, and the lowest price we’ve seen for Garmin’s beginner-friendly running watch.

The Forerunner 70 sits at the accessible end of Garmin’s running line-up and is specifically designed for newer runners who want useful training and health data without stepping up to one of the brand’s increasingly expensive performance watches. There are considerably more advanced Garmin watches available, but that’s arguably missing the point. The Forerunner 70 packages the features most runners actually need into a straightforward, modern-looking watch without bombarding beginners with the more specialised metrics found further up the range.

At £186.59, it makes even more sense, especially if you want to get into running with Garmin without spending £300 or more.

Casio isn’t exactly known for making shy watches, but the G-SHOCK GA-V01 takes the brand’s oversized design language somewhere particularly strange.

Launched in 2025 as a fresh take on G-SHOCK toughness, the GA-V01 combines an integrated resin bezel and strap with huge, bumper-like hour markers, oversized controls and a spherical mineral glass covering the analogue-digital display.

The result looks almost alien, especially in this blue-purple colourway with contrasting turquoise hands and a black digital display. It certainly isn’t going to disappear underneath a shirt cuff.

There is some clever engineering behind the theatrics, too. Casio uses what it calls a Shock Release Hand, with the watch hands held magnetically so they can better absorb impacts. The chunky indices also perform double duty as shock-absorbing bumpers.

Despite its fairly enormous 58.2 x 49.1 x 19.6mm dimensions, the resin construction keeps weight down to a comparatively manageable 74g.

As you’d expect from a G-SHOCK, it is shock-resistant and rated for 200 metres of water resistance, while the CR2025 battery is designed to last approximately 10 years.

You also get world time across 31 time zones, a 1/100-second stopwatch, 24-hour countdown timer, five daily alarms, automatic calendar and double LED illumination.

There’s even a hand-shift function that moves the analogue hands temporarily so you can see the digital display underneath.

It’s unmistakably a fashion-forward G-SHOCK, but the underlying specifications are reassuringly traditional. At £83.30, the GA-V01 suddenly looks considerably easier to justify.

Montbell’s Closeout sale is currently offering up to 30% off selected outdoor gear, and one of the more tempting reductions is on the Superior Down Parka. The jacket has dropped from £212 in the striking Red colourway, which not only looks great but also makes you much more visible in an emergency.

The Superior Down Parka is built as a lightweight cold-weather layer and weighs just 243g. It uses 800-fill-power EX Down, Montbell’s premium down insulation, giving it a strong warmth-to-weight ratio for hiking, travelling and everyday wear.

Montbell surrounds the insulation with a 10-denier Ballistic Airlight nylon ripstop shell, complete with a water-repellent finish. The sewn-through construction helps keep weight down and holds the insulation in place, while the fabric is also downproofed to reduce feathers escaping through the outer.

The adjustable dual-axial hood is designed to move with your head without restricting visibility, while elasticated cuffs and an adjustable hem help trap warmth.

Storage comes from two zipped hand pockets and a pair of internal drop-in pockets, and Montbell even includes a stuff sack for packing the jacket down when it isn’t needed.

It’s worth noting that the Superior Down Parka has a relatively slim cut, partly because it’s designed to work as a mid-layer underneath a waterproof shell. Montbell recommends sizing up if you prefer a more relaxed fit.

At £53 off, it’s a useful opportunity to pick up a genuinely lightweight 800-fill down jacket for less, provided red works with your wardrobe.

Patagonia has launched its end-of-summer sale, knocking up to 40% off nearly 900 pieces of clothing and outdoor gear. I went through most of the deals, and the Point Reyes Canvas Jacket is one of the standout reductions. The Gumtree Green colourway has dropped from $165 to $114.99 in the US, making this the perfect time to get one.

This is a classic workwear layer built with Patagonia’s durability-first approach. The body uses 9.5oz Stand Up canvas made from 100% Regenerative Organic Certified cotton, giving it a substantial, hard-wearing feel without relying on synthetic fibres.

At 726g, it has enough weight to work as a useful transitional jacket through cooler summer evenings and into autumn. A contrasting 8.9oz organic-cotton, 12-wale corduroy collar adds texture, while the full-length button placket keeps the silhouette clean and traditional.

As well as use a Roku smart projector to level up my World Cup viewing this summer, I've just returned from a seaside holiday where one of the brand's streaming devices proved to be a godsend.

I'm a sucker for a good, old fashioned British holiday, usually in a sited caravan or lodge. As the owner of a young dog, I don't like leaving him behind, so it suits us all to take a vacation where he can join us. We all get something out of the long walks and fresh air.

This week saw Samsung's second major Unpacked event of 2026 – and the reveal of its all-new Galaxy Z Fold 8 folding phone.

There are numerous Garmin watches in circulation at this point, but one of the strangest ones I've tried is certainly the Instinct Crossover Solar, which adds a pair of luminous hands to the digital display that are fully visible in the dark and move around when you interact with the display.

Back in the day, when I reviewed it, I wasn't sure why we needed such a smartwatch, but since then I've come to appreciate the wearable's quirkiness. It is a unique watch with a long battery life and access to Garmin's outdoor features and ecosystem – and now it's a whole lot cheaper than when it came out!

Interestingly, the deal is at Garmin, of all places, and not just that, but it undercuts even Amazon, which is pretty much unheard of. The Instinct Crossover Solar is currently listed as £340.85 at the online retail giant, which, according to my elementary maths skills, is a gazillion pounds more than £230.

While it's a last-gen model and one down from the top-tier G-series (2025 saw the G5 launch, while 2026 presented the G6), for most people that's simply not going to matter – because the image quality is every bit the flagship.

In our LG C5 OLED review we called the TV "a refined upgrade over its predecessor," thanks to "improved brightness, sharper imagery, and a more personalised user experience."

It shows that waiting to buy your TV can be the savviest of decisions. While the RRP was £1,499 at launch for the 48-inch model, that's largely dropped to £1,099 on LG's own store, or £999 in many places. This extra money off makes it a bona fide summer bargain though.

It's all about minimising bulk when you go camping, which often means swapping your ceramic mugs for aluminium / enamel / titanium versions. It's all fun and games, but lighter cups tend to get very hot, which often means you end up burning your lips. Ouch.

Garmin has rolled out a small but potentially important software update for the Fenix 8 Pro, addressing one of the biggest complaints reported by some owners in recent weeks.

While System Software 22.39 isn't packed with new features, it fixes a possible battery drain issue that could make a noticeable difference for affected users.

According to Garmin's official release notes, the update includes just two changes: a fix for "possible battery drain" and another for "possible issues when doing voice calls."

It's a brief changelog, but one that follows reports from some Garmin watch owners who experienced unusually high battery consumption after previous firmware releases.

The company hasn't revealed what caused the issue or how widespread it was, so it's worth noting that not every user was affected.

More than a maintenance release

The timing is also good news for anyone thinking about buying Garmin's flagship outdoor smartwatch.

What is the R36S retro gaming handheld and is it worth it?

The R36S is a decently spec'ed gaming handheld with a 3.5-inch 640 x 480 4:3 display. It runs on the Rockchip RK3326 processor, which has been the bedrock of retro gaming devices for a few years.

That means it is capable of playing all the 8-bit and 16-bit games comfortably – such as NES, SNES, Master System and Mega Drive – as well as original PlayStation titles.

You might even be able to eke a bit of PSP or N64 gaming out of it.
