I hardly need to tell you that the weather has been scorching this week. I love the heat, but the thing I’ve hated most about this current heatwave is how hard it is to fall asleep. I’m left lying on top of my duvet with two fans blasting at me, and I’m still struggling to get a good night’s rest.

As T3’s resident sleep expert, I’ve tried plenty of heatwave sleep hacks but I haven’t found all of them to be that effective. The one I found to actually give some cooling relief was placing a frozen water bottle in my bed before I got in it. Doing this brings the temperature of your bed down quickly and offers some cooling relief and comfort.

Along the same vein, a recent sleep hack that’s come out during this current UK heatwave is the frozen pillow trick. Yes, you read that right – freezing your pillow could be the solution to helping you sleep better in the heat. Here’s how to do it properly and why it’s effective.

How to do the frozen pillow trick

Now, when I say to freeze your pillow, I don’t mean put your entire pillow in your fridge or freezer. For most, there isn’t enough room to put the whole pillow in there, so instead, place your pillow in a sealed bag and freeze it shortly before you go to bed.

According to Natalie Pennicotte-Collier, sleep therapist at MattressNextDay, this frozen pillow trick works best when the fabric of your pillow case feels cool against the skin rather than being damp or ice cold. As she states, “You’re not trying to shock your skin with freezing temperatures. The goal is simply to make getting into bed feel cooler and more comfortable during those first few minutes of trying to fall asleep.”

Timing is crucial with this trick. You should be putting your pillowcase or even your bed sheet in the freezer a few minutes before bedtime. Material is also important, with Pennicotte-Collier recommending breathable cotton as the natural fibres release heat and moisture throughout the night rather than trapping it like other fabrics do.

Now, the most important question – does the frozen pillow trick actually work? Yes, but it won’t be an all-night solution. The cool chill of your pillow will likely last up to 10 minutes but this timing targets the moment when your body is trying to fall asleep and can help speed up the process.

As Pennicotte-Collier explains “Your brain is constantly checking whether your sleep environment feels cool enough and comfortable enough to switch into sleep mode. A cooler pillow surface helps send that signal faster.”

I’ve tried many sleep hacks in my time as T3’s Home Editor and resident sleep expert. From trying the military sleep method to drinking the Sleepy Girl mocktail, I’ve tried it all, and can give a definitive ruling over which sleep tricks actually work and which ones you can forget about.

But I recently found out that I’ve been unconsciously doing one of the best sleep tricks around – and you probably have too. One of the easiest ways to cool your body is to cool the room itself. While it goes against our instincts – and as someone who’s always freezing, it really goes against mine – sleeping in a cold room is actually better for you. Similar to popping one leg out of your bed, the colder temperatures have been found to help you fall asleep faster, reduce your stress levels, and even improve your mood.

However, if (like me) sleeping in a cold room appalls you, it turns out your feet could be the answer – which is why the ‘one foot out the bed’ trick works so well. As Pennicotte-Collier states, “this is because the feet are one of the body’s key heat-release points. By exposing them to cooler air, you can encourage heat to escape more efficiently, helping to lower your core body temperature and support the natural process of falling asleep.”

So, keeping your feet slightly cooler than the rest of your body can have a positive impact on your sleep quality and quantity. As someone who reviews everything from the best coffee machines to robot vacuums, there are certain products that inevitably end up being delegated to my long-suffering partner. The best body groomers fall firmly into that category, and whilst I was technically overseeing the testing process, it's fair to say my role involved inspecting the results from a respectful distance and trying not to laugh.

The Manspot Body Trimmer is one of a growing number of affordable grooming tools promising a smoother and less stressful manscaping experience. With waterproofing, ceramic blades and a wallet-friendly price tag, it certainly ticks plenty of boxes on paper.

Design and features

The Manspot Body Trimmer is designed as an all-in-one grooming tool for body hair, with a clear focus on comfort and ease of use in more sensitive areas. It has an ergonomic shape that sits comfortably in the hand, whilst the textured finish provides plenty of grip. It's also fully waterproof, allowing you to use it wet or dry and rinse it clean afterwards.

The trimmer uses a high-performance motor paired with an anti-cut blade system that's designed to minimise irritation, nicks and razor burn. The blades themselves are made from ceramic and aerospace-grade materials, which Manspot claims improve both durability and comfort during use. They're also intended to be more hygienic than some traditional blade materials, making them well suited to regular grooming.

The trimmer ships with four guide combs offering cutting lengths of 1.5mm, 3mm, 3-6mm and 9-12mm. The shortest guard delivers a very close trim, whilst the longer options give you a bit more flexibility depending on the look you're after.

Manspot claims the battery can last for up to 20 grooming sessions, or around 90 minutes of runtime from a single charge. Charging takes around 2.5 hours and is handled via USB-C, and there's also a small cleaning brush included in the box.

Performance

My partner actually started testing the Manspot Body Trimmer on his face first, simply to get a feel for how the trimmer handled. That said, I wouldn't recommend regularly using a body trimmer as your main facial grooming tool, as it's specifically designed for more sensitive areas of the body. If facial shaving is your priority, you're much better off sticking with one of the best electric shavers.

His first impression was how comfortable the trimmer felt in the hand. The ergonomic shape makes it easy to manoeuvre, whilst the soft-touch silicone provides plenty of grip. It feels secure to hold, which is particularly important if you're using it in the shower where things can quickly become slippery.

He also liked the blade width, which strikes a nice balance between covering larger areas efficiently whilst still being precise enough for more detailed grooming. Swapping between the included guards is equally straightforward thanks to the simple clip-on, clip-off design.

Moving onto the rest of his body, he was pleasantly surprised by the overall performance. Whilst it doesn't quite match the refinement of premium options like the Wahl Manscaper, it comfortably performs above what its price tag would suggest. The trimmer followed body contours well, delivered a neat trim and, most importantly, managed to avoid any uncomfortable pinches or nicks.

One thing he did note is that the Manspot Body Trimmer is fairly compact. Whilst that means it doesn't cover large areas quite as quickly as some bigger rivals, it makes it an excellent option to take travelling. As a result, it would have been nice to see Manspot include a travel pouch or storage case in the box, but considering the price, it's hardly a dealbreaker.

Verdict

The Manspot Body Trimmer is a budget-friendly grooming tool that prioritises comfort and safety over premium refinement. It performs reliably for everyday body grooming, especially in sensitive areas, and whilst it doesn’t quite reach the smooth efficiency of higher-end competitors, it still delivers impressive results for its price. Its compact size also makes it travel-friendly, though the lack of a storage pouch is a small but noticeable omission.

Alternatives to consider

If you're looking for another affordable body groomer, I'd also recommend the Philips Series 3000 Bodygroomer. It delivers an impressively smooth shave for the money and feels remarkably similar to Philips' more premium Series 7000 models, despite costing just over £40.

I also couldn't finish without mentioning the Wahl Manscaper, which remains our favourite body groomer overall. Not only is it competitively priced, but it combines a lightweight build with a comfortable rubberised grip and a handy LED display that shows both the selected cutting length and remaining battery life.

I travel a lot for work, and for obvious reasons, I take my electric toothbrush with me on all my trips. But after one journey, I got into my hotel room, unpacked my toiletries and found that my electric toothbrush was completely dead, even though I’d charged it beforehand.

After little deducing, I realised that when I’d packed my electric toothbrush, the contents in my bag must have accidentally pressed against the on/off button. So, while I was sitting on the plane, my toothbrush was working away, brushing absolutely nothing and draining the battery in the process.

I know what you’re thinking: this is why you put your electric toothbrush in its travel case – and you’d be right. Removing the brush head from the main body of the toothbrush, and storing it in its travel pouch helps guarantee your toothbrush won’t turn on and buzz away for hours, meaning you won’t lose use of it when you get to your destination.

But whether your electric toothbrush comes with a travel case or not, many of today’s electric toothbrushes don’t have detachable heads, in an effort to be more sustainable and create less waste. If this is the case for you, I recently found this ‘hidden’ travel lock feature which prevents your electric toothbrush from turning on accidentally – if only I’d known about this before!

The buttons on your electric toothbrush do a lot more than you might think. Aside from switching modes and turning on and off, your electric toothbrush’s controls can also ‘lock’ your toothbrush so you can save your battery and prolong the lifespan of its technology.

For most electric toothbrushes, you can activate the travel lock by pressing and holding the power button for up to five seconds. To ‘unlock’ your electric toothbrush, simply do the same. But some models are different, so I’ve listed how to use the travel lock on your toothbrush for Philips, Oral-B and SURI users.

How to use the travel lock on Philips electric toothbrushes

Philips electric toothbrushes all have similar methods for activating the travel lock. For Sonicare and ExpertClean models – we’re fans of the Philips Sonicare 7100 at T3 – you simply press and hold the power button for three seconds. To let you know the travel lock is on, the battery light will flash or a lock icon will show. Your toothbrush will also make a beeping noise.

The Philips DiamondClean brushes, like the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9900 Prestige, require you to press down the mode button instead of the power button.

How to use the travel lock on Oral-B electric toothbrushes

As Oral-B electric toothbrushes have gotten more advanced with each new generation, there are a couple of ways to turn on the travel lock. If your Oral-B iO toothbrush has a touchscreen, you can scroll through the settings to select the travel lock option. Alternatively, hold the power button for five seconds until a lock icon appears and the LED light around the head flashes.

For more recent Oral-B iO brushes, like the Oral-B iO6 and above, you can turn the travel lock on and off by using the Oral-B app. If your toothbrush is under iO6, like the Oral-B iO3, you’ll need to stick to holding down the power button – the same can be said for Pro and Smart toothbrushes.

How to use the travel lock on SURI electric toothbrushes

If you have a SURI toothbrush like the SURI 2.0, you simply need to press and hold the power button for five seconds. Above the button is a light which will flash orange to indicate it’s locked. The brush itself will also vibrate and beep.

Staying up to watch the World Cup? According to sleep experts, you could be losing 275 hours of sleep due to the late night games – but here’s how to still get a good night’s sleep while the football is on.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 started on the 11th June, and as the games will be played in Mexico, the US and Canada, that puts UK football fans on a bit of a weird schedule. For the UK, the majority of games will be played in the evening and early morning, and if you’re dedicated to watching all the matches, this will massively impact your sleep for the month that the World Cup is on.

With this in mind, Hillarys did some calculations and found that football fans could lose up to 275 hours of sleep while the competition is on, due to 53 out of 104 matches kicking off after 11pm BST. Hillarys has also launched its free World Cup Sleep Calculator which calculates the amount of sleep you’ll lose based on the games you watch.

But fear not – Hillarys’ sleep scientist, Tom Coleman has shared his five expert tips on how to sleep better during the World Cup.

5 tips to get a good night’s sleep after watching the World Cup

1. Try the split-sleep strategy

Coleman’s number one tip for getting a good night’s sleep without missing the World Cup action is to split your sleep. “Consider going to bed at your normal time, waking for the match, then returning to sleep afterwards,” he says. “It's not as efficient as one uninterrupted block, but it's far better than staying awake for 20 hours straight and crashing later.”

The split-sleep strategy works due to the different sleep stages that make up your sleep cycle. The deepest, most restorative sleep tends to take place in the first half of the night, so you should be getting a good amount of rest and recovery time before your World Cup alarm goes off.

2. Control your lighting

Sitting in front of a bright, flashing TV isn’t great for your sleep, due to the blue light the screen emits. So, when you go to turn in after a game, you’ll likely find yourself lying awake, feeling wired. But that’s where strategic control of your lighting comes in.

After the match ends, Coleman suggests shifting into low, warm lighting. “This helps your brain ramp up melatonin production sooner, which shortens the time it takes to fall asleep… bright light is one of the strongest 'wake-up' signals your brain has, even when your body is exhausted. Dimming your environment is one of the fastest ways to help it downshift into sleep mode”, says Coleman.

3. Keep your bedroom cold and dark

Not only are you dealing with late night games, but the World Cup also takes place in summer where the higher temperatures already negatively affect your sleep. As Coleman explains, the “temperature is the second most important sleep signal after light, as the body needs to drop its core temperature to initiate sleep and a warm room makes that harder. Ventilation, a fan, and blackout curtains create an ideal recovery environment your body needs after a disrupted night.”

4. Limit your alcohol intake

Whether you’re watching the World Cup or not, alcohol has a huge impact on your sleep. Alcohol may act as a sedative but it disrupts your sleep quality, particularly your REM sleep which is essential for mental and emotional recovery. So, try to limit how much alcohol you drink while watching the football so you can sleep comfortably, and wake up feeling well-rested.

5. Schedule recovery sleep

If you’re a diehard football fan, chances are you’ll be up for every single game, so it’s important to schedule some recovery sleep – and actually make sure you stick to it. For example, Coleman recommends “if a match ends at 4am on a Sunday, block Sunday morning in your calendar, put your phone on ‘do not disturb’ and make sure anyone else in the house knows not to wake you.”

While it used to be that most people had a signature scent – a single fragrance which was recognisable as theirs – that's far less common these days. In 2026, scent is treated more like a wardrobe, with different options for different moods, weathers and seasons.

That's exactly why bottles like Creed's Wild Vetiver get me so excited. The scent – a sibling to the 22 year old Original Vetiver – is unlikely to be the daily driver for many men.

It's scent profile is sweet and floral, with strong notes of rose and lots of fruits sat on top of a vetiver and woody base. If you were only ever going to wear one scent, I don't think many of us would opt for that.

But when you've got a few bottles or a small collection, Wild Vetiver can really shine. Not dissimilar to that day where you decide to wear your most outlandish shirt just because you can, this scent can offer something totally different on days when you just fancy a change.

I've been wearing this on and off for the past few weeks, and always find it to be a welcome scent to put on. One thing which has particularly impressed is the longevity, with it seeming to stick to skin and clothes for hours. I'm quite happy with a couple of sprays to last a full six to eight hours.

Projection is also pretty good. While there's some fall off after the initial sprays, I found myself and others around me still noticing it a few hours later, which is more than can be said for some scents I've tested.

Of course, it's not cheap, and that will be the biggest stumbling block for most users. I managed to find it for £220 (approx. €255 / US$295 / AU$420) for a 50ml bottle and £310 (approx. €360 / US$415 / AU$590) for a 100ml bottle, which is definitely on the higher end for most of us.

I wouldn't say it's too expensive, though, sitting broadly alongside bottles from the likes of Acqua di Parma, Tom Ford and the like. It can hold its own in that company, and that justifies it for me.

The Oral-B iO range has quickly become one of the most recognisable names among the best electric toothbrushes, offering everything from affordable entry-level models to premium brushes packed with smart features.

Over the years, we've tested the Oral-B iO2, iO3 and iO7, giving us a good understanding of where each model sits within the lineup. Now, the iO6 has arrived for review, positioning itself as a premium mid-range option that still commands a significant price tag.

This raises the question of whether the iO6 offers enough over its cheaper siblings to justify the extra cost, or are you better off saving your money and avoiding it altogether. After several weeks of testing, here's how the Oral-B iO6 performed.

Price and availability

The Oral-B iO6 carries an RRP of £300, but like many Oral-B toothbrushes, it's frequently and generously discounted. At the time of writing, it's available for around £105 at both Currys and AO, making it a far more tempting proposition than its original price suggests.

It's available in Black, Pink or Silver Grey, and comes bundled with an iO brush head, travel case, magnetic charger and a hygienic brush head holder.

Design and features

The Oral-B iO6 sits firmly towards the premium end of Oral-B's lineup. The handle is slim, smooth and comfortable to hold, with a matte finish that feels premium in the hand whilst providing extra grip when wet.

At the centre of the handle is a small interactive black-and-white display that shows brushing modes, battery information, brush head replacement reminders and post-brushing feedback.

Whilst it's not as advanced as the colour display found on the more expensive iO8 and iO10 models, it still adds a premium touch and makes navigating settings far easier than relying on a collection of flashing LEDs. The toothbrush itself is controlled via two simple buttons – one for power and one for cycling through brushing modes.

The headline feature of the iO6 is Oral-B's magnetic iO drive system. Rather than relying solely on the oscillating movement found on older Oral-B brushes, the iO6 combines oscillation and rotation with gentle micro-vibrations. The result is a brushing experience that feels noticeably smoother and quieter whilst still delivering a deep clean.

The iO6 offers five cleaning modes, including Gum Care, Intense, Daily Clean, Sensitive and Whiten. There's also a 360-degree pressure sensor, with the illuminated ring around the neck of the brush changing colour depending on how hard you're brushing. Red indicates too much pressure, green confirms you're brushing correctly and white suggests you're not applying enough.

The iO6 also includes Bluetooth connectivity and works alongside the Oral-B app. Once connected, the app can provide real-time coaching, track brushing coverage and help ensure you're spending enough time on all areas of your mouth. For users who enjoy data-driven health tracking, it can even integrate with Apple Health.

Other premium features include a built-in two-minute timer, quadrant pacing to ensure even brushing, brush head replacement reminders and personalised brushing feedback.

Performance

For me, the cleaning performance is where the Oral-B iO6 really stands out, and throughout testing, my teeth consistently felt exceptionally clean after every brush. I found myself using the Daily Clean mode most often, and it struck a great balance between power and comfort.

One of my favourite features during testing was the built-in display. It might sound like a small addition, but being able to see exactly how long I'd been brushing for and how much time I had left made a strong difference to my routine. The feedback screen at the end of each session also made the whole experience feel more interactive and engaging.

I also really liked the illuminated pressure-sensing ring, which provides instant feedback if you're brushing too hard. Combined with Oral-B's clever iO brush heads, which gradually fade in colour as they wear out and need replacing, it's a very easy toothbrush to use and maintain.

The included travel case is also great, particularly for frequent travellers. It keeps everything protected in a suitcase, making the iO6 easy enough to throw into a bag for weekends away. I'm not entirely sure why there's space for two brush heads, but having a back up is always a good thing I suppose?

That said, there are a few frustrations. My biggest gripe is the lack of a proper stand or dock. Instead, the toothbrush sits directly on your bathroom surface, which can quickly become messy after brushing. Having recently used the magnetic pebble included with the SURI 2.0, it's something I noticed immediately and missed throughout testing.

Battery performance was another disappointment. A full recharge from empty took around 24-30 hours, which feels incredibly slow by modern standards, and once fully charged, I was only getting around one and a half to two weeks of use. Compared to rivals like the SURI 2.0 and Quip Lite, which can often last between 30 and 50 days between charges, that's a significant difference.

Factor in the relatively high price tag and the fact there are cheaper toothbrushes elsewhere in the iO range that deliver a very similar clean, and it becomes harder to fully justify the premium.

Verdict

The Oral-B iO6 delivers an excellent clean, feels premium in the hand and includes useful additions such as the interactive display, pressure-sensing ring and intelligent brush head reminders. Throughout testing, it consistently left my teeth feeling polished and fresh, whilst making the whole brushing experience more engaging than most electric toothbrushes manage.

However, the lengthy charging time, relatively average battery life and lack of a dedicated stand feel difficult to overlook at this price point. Add in the fact that cheaper models elsewhere in the iO lineup deliver a very similar cleaning experience, and the iO6 becomes harder to recommend at full retail price.

That said, if you can find it on one of Oral-B's frequent discounts, the iO6 becomes a much stronger proposition. For those who want a premium electric toothbrush packed with useful smart features, but don't feel the need to stretch to the flagship models, it's one of the strongest options in the range.

Alternatives to consider

If you like the idea of the Oral-B iO6 but don't think you'll use all of its extra features, I'd strongly recommend looking at the Oral-B iO2 instead. It's a much simpler toothbrush, but still offers three brushing modes, a quadrant timer, pressure sensor and travel case, whilst costing significantly less.

Another strong alternative is the Philips Sonicare 7100. It's also on the pricier side, but offers more advanced customisation options and delivers a different style of clean thanks to its sonic brushing technology rather than Oral-B's oscillating approach.

It’s rare that you’ll see the Oral-B iO3 at full price. As of writing, it’s discounted to £65 at Amazon and Boots, and £59 at John Lewis. As it only comes with one brush head, you’ll need to buy replacements which you can get in two, six, eight and 10 packs. Prices on these typically start at £14.50 and you can buy them at most retailers.

Oral-B iO3 review: design and features

The Oral-B iO3 is an advanced electric toothbrush which measures 24cm in height and has a depth and width of 2.8cm. It weighs just 136g, making it extremely lightweight. The brush head of the Oral-B iO3 can be removed to swap out new heads and for travelling.

The main body of the Oral-B iO3 has the controls which consists of two buttons. The one at the top is for turning it on and off, and the bottom one cycles through its brushing modes – daily clean, sensitive and whitening.

Where the brush head meets the body of the Oral-B iO3, there’s a 360 degree LED light ring that acts as a visible pressure sensor for your teeth and gums. When it flashes green, it means the pressure is perfect, while red indicates you’re using too much pressure. The white light shows if you’re using too little pressure.

The Oral-B iO3 uses gentle micro-vibrations to clean your teeth. It has a round dentist approved brush head which has individually powered bristles. It has a two minute timer built in and the brush and noise slightly pauses every 30 seconds to tell you when to switch to a different zone in your mouth.

There’s much debate between electric vs manual brushing, but Oral-B claims that the Oral-B iO3 offers 100% cleaner teeth and healthier gums than a regular manual toothbrush – here’s why I think they’re right.

Oral-B iO3 review: performance

I’ve tested many electric toothbrushes from Oclean, Quip and Philips, but the iO3 is my first model from Oral-B. My husband has had the iO7 for years and has loved it, so I was excited to see what all the hype was about.

As electric toothbrushes go, the Oral-B iO3 certainly looks the part. It has a simple design with just two buttons so you can’t really go wrong with it. Its noise isn’t too offensive and the brief pauses to tell you when to switch brush position is very helpful. The LED ring is the icing on the cake as it clearly shows how much pressure you’re using without overloading you with information.

I found the Oral-B iO3 to have a good amount of charge. It definitely lasted for over two weeks before I needed to recharge it. This isn’t huge compared to some of the other models I’ve tried, but it’s still pretty impressive. The charger and travel case that comes with the Oral-B iO3 are also well designed and easy to travel with.

The Oral-B iO3 definitely made my mouth and teeth feel very clean. The micro-vibrations are strong but they don’t feel too intense. At the risk of being laughed at, I felt that the brush heads felt a bit too large in my mouth. As mentioned, I’ve tested many electric toothbrushes that have had a lot slimmer heads, so in comparison, the Oral-B iO3 felt chunkier which made everything a bit messy.

Now, are there more advanced models on the market? Yes, but I like the simplicity of the Oral-B iO3. Sometimes, you don’t need your devices to be able to talk to you or to come with an app. While my husband’s iO7 is very impressive and it has the smiley face screen that everyone loves, the ease of use that comes with the Oral-B iO3 is great, and as the entry-level option to the range, you can’t really ask for much more.

Oral-B iO3 review: verdict

If you want a professional electric toothbrush which is simple to use and won’t break the bank, you can’t go wrong with the Oral-B iO3. It might not be the newest, smartest option on the market but it leaves your mouth feeling clean, fresh and hygienic – what else could you want, really?

It may take some time to get used to the brush heads and the mess can be a bit much, but the Oral-B iO3 is a brilliant option for those who want to improve their oral hygiene. It really wins points for its price as well.

Oral-B iO3 review: alternatives to consider

If you fancy similar simple controls, the Suri 2.0 is the best of the best. It looks great, performs professionally and its latest version has a new case, charging stand and pressure sensor.

If brush head size is important to you, the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9900 Prestige has similar controls and design to the Oral-B iO3 but comes with slimmer brush heads. It’s more expensive, a little heavier and comes with AI, so it’s not ‘simple’ by any means, but it does look it.

A more advanced version of the Oral-B iO3 is the Oral-B iO9. This model comes with the interactive screen that smiles or frowns at you to let you know how your brush went. It’s also more expensive and has app control.

Panasonic has unveiled two new beauty products that combine high-performance haircare with premium design. Leading the launch is the new EH-NA0L Hair Dryer, which competes with the best hair dryers to deliver salon-quality results at home whilst improving overall hair health.

The brand is already well known for its popular EH-NA0J, a styling favourite powered by Panasonic's Nanoe Moisture+ and Mineral technology. I’m extremely fortunate that I get to travel for work, but the 3am wake-up calls to get to the airport do eventually take their toll. Oftentimes, I have events, briefings and tours as soon as I land and as I don’t want to make a bad first impression by looking like I haven’t slept for days, I’ve become well-versed in sleeping on a plane.

I used to hate sleeping on planes but now, I’m out like a light as soon as I strap my seatbelt on. With summer holidays coming up, sleeping poorly – or not at all – on a plane can affect the first couple days of your vacation so catching some much needed Zzz’s before your trip is a must.

As a sleep and travel expert, these are the five fool-proof products I use to help me sleep on a plane.

1. Ostrichpillow Go Neck Travel Pillow

The biggest head – or neck – ache about sleeping on a plane is you’re essentially sleeping upright in a chair for several hours. What’s worse is the seat itself has no real support or comfort especially around the head and neck, which is why you often get off a plane feeling stiff and sore in these areas.

Having a comfortable travel pillow is a must if you’re planning to take a nap on the plane. I’d recommend the Ostrichpillow Go Neck Travel Pillow. Made from memory foam, the Ostrichpillow Go is cosy, breathable and asymmetrical so you can have it at different heights and thickness levels to suit your neck, spine, head and chin. There are cheaper options at Boots and even in the airport that work well too, but the Ostrichpillow Go gets my vote.

2. Loop Dream

This might be controversial, but I don’t like wearing headphones on a plane, unless I’m using them to watch an in-flight movie. But the background whirring of the cabin and other passenger’s noises can disrupt your sleep, so a good pair of noise-reducing earbuds can do the trick.

Instead of blocking out noise entirely, I still like to be able to hear a little bit of my surroundings, especially on a plane so I can be alert to any announcements. The Loop Dream earplugs are a great choice here, as they muffle sounds by 27dB (SNR) so you can sleep peacefully and minimise external noise. 3. Therabody SleepMask

If you’re flying for several hours, especially during the night, the plane you’re on will dim the lights so you can get some sleep. But not everyone will want to sleep which means you could be sitting next to someone with a blaring, bright screen – but that’s where an eye mask comes in.

My eye mask of choice is the Therabody SleepMask. What makes it so special is it uses a combination of vibrations and sounds to help you relax. With wave, pulse or constant pattern options, the vibrations are soothing and tension relieving. 4. Danish Endurance Cotton Compression Socks

If you’re on a long haul flight, compression socks will be your best friend. I run a lot and my shins are always acting up in some way so I use compression socks to help with my running but you can also wear them as you travel.

For compression sock beginners, the Danish Endurance Compression Socks are the ones I’d recommend. Made from a soft cotton material, these socks are more relaxed than other options, making them ideal for running, recovery and travel. The Danish Endurance Compression Socks stabilise your calves, and they’re much more affordable than other brands.

5. YETI Rambler Bottle

Due to the low humidity within a plane, the air in the cabin can leave your skin and body feeling dehydrated. Regardless of how long I’ve slept for on the plane, I often wake up with a sore, dry throat so having a good water bottle to hand is vital.

The water bottle I use everyday, including while travelling, is the YETI Rambler Bottle. I have the 769ml version but you can get them in multiple sizes and colours. Due to the warmer weather in the UK over the past few years, bed bugs have increased by 67% each year – why can’t we have nice things?! While hygiene plays a huge part in keeping your mattress clear of bed bugs, you’d be surprised to hear that it’s your summer holiday that’s increasing the likelihood of an infestation.

To find out more, I spoke to Sharon Robson from Mattress Online who explained that “bedbugs thrive in areas where lots of people are coming and going, and favour warm and humid conditions, which means there’s a higher chance of infestations across the summer holidays… it’s crucial to know how to spot a potential infestation to prevent bringing any unwanted souvenirs back from your trip.”

Below, Robson shared her expert tips on how to identify bed bugs early and how to avoid bringing them home with you after travelling.

1. Spot the early signs of bed bugs

When you get to your accommodation, it’s a good idea to first check if your room is infested with bed bugs. There are a few tell tale signs that this could be the case like “sweet, musty smells, which are a sign of a very large infestation,” says Robson. She urges holidaymakers to “keep an eye out for black or rust-coloured stains on bedding and mattresses. Lastly, look for empty, brown shells or flat, oval brown shapes, which may be the bugs themselves.”

2. Use the credit card trick

If you want to conduct a closer inspection, use the credit card trick. As “bedbugs love to hide in tight spaces such as mattress seams, labels, and tufts, a credit card acts as a handy probing tool to get into these tight spaces like mattress piping, corners of the bedframe, and any cracks,” explains Robson.

To do this, simply press your card to these areas and scrape along the creases to check for bugs and eggs. You can use a phone torch for better visibility.

3. Elevate your luggage

When you first arrive at your hotel, you might be tempted to fling your suitcase on the bed to make unpacking easier – but this is actually the worst mistake you could possibly make. Not only are you spreading dirt from your luggage onto your sleep surface, but you haven’t had a chance to inspect the bed for signs of bed bugs.

Robson stresses that you should “elevate your luggage above carpets and away from walls. Avoid unpacking your suitcase on the bed… and use metal luggage racks or place your case on a hard surface like a table or desk.” This should stop bed bugs getting into your luggage and the chances of you taking them home with you.

4. Wash clothes on a high heat

Once you get home from your holiday – and if you’re worried about a potential bed bug infestation – the first thing you should do is wash your clothes on a high heat. Robson suggests to “leave your luggage on a hard surface like a bathroom or laundry room floor and unpack directly into the washing machine. Clean your clothes on a hot wash cycle and dry on a high heat for 30-60 minutes to kill any live bugs or eggs.”

5. Invest in a hard shell suitcase

Before you head off on your next holiday, take a minute to consider what type of luggage you’re bringing. According to Robson “soft-sided luggage provides plenty of hiding spots for bedbugs, which means you may unknowingly increase your chances of bringing them back from your trip.”

A hard shell suitcase provides a smooth solid surface which is much harder for bed bugs to cling to rather than a soft suitcase with rough or porous surfaces. “With the bonus of being easier to inspect and disinfect, it may be worth investing in if you're worried about the spread of these unwanted bedmates,” says Robson.

In all my time testing the best men's fragrances, I don't think one has ever landed with me at a more perfect time than DS & Durga's Rum Bay Rum. As the UK melts through a heatwave, this bottle felt right at home.

Why? Well, to make this as simple as I possibly can – this scent smells almost exactly like a Cuba Libre, and for me, that's the perfect drink for a really hot day, basking in the sun.

The brand's own website lists bay, linden and sandalwood as the top, middle and base notes, respectively. For me, there's much more too it than that.

Sure, woods are here, but the spices are where it's really at. There's definite cinnamon to my nose, without straying too far into nose-piercing, sharp scent. Things remain very sweet throughout the wear, like you've just cracked the bottle top from a glass Coke bottle, and you get that first hit of sweet-spice.

The rum aspect is definitely not too prominent – there's no overbearing alcoholic smell here – though my brain certainly filled in the gaps. Maybe that's just the yearnings of a heat-soaked mind...

Silage is pretty good here, as anyone who has used DS & Durga will be accustomed to. There's no room-filling, overbearing projection, but simply a nice halo of good scent around the wearer.

Sadly, I found the longevity to be just a little less than I'd hope for, really only getting an hour or two before it was little more than a skin scent. It's worth noting that I was testing this in hot weather (did I mention the heat already) and on days where I was a little more active, so it's possible that a cooler temperature might yield better results here.

Even so, I can't help but recommend this. The scent is just so easy to wear, and such a classic that you really can't go wrong. Buy a 50ml and stick the bottle in your bag to top up as needed – you won't regret it!

This past week, the UK has been hit by a huge heatwave. While most people are loving the sunshine, everyone starts to get a bit sick of the heat when it’s time to sleep.

To manage the heat at night, we’re all turning to the best fans and air conditioners. However, while they offer a relieving cold breeze throughout the day, they aren’t as effective at night and can actually make you feel worse the next day.

The main reason you shouldn’t sleep with a fan on is the cold, circulating air gets into your body which causes stiff muscles and aches and pains. But at the moment, it’s simply too hot not to sleep with a fan on, so I’ve looked into ways you can position your fan in your room to help you to sleep more comfortably in the UK heatwave.

Before I get into the three fan positions, you should never sleep with your fan directly pointing at yourself. This exacerbates body soreness, can dry out your skin and trigger allergies so it’s best to stick to these positions instead.

1. Near an open window

This might sound counterintuitive but placing your fan near an open window can make a world of difference to the temperature in your room. By positioning your fan like this, you can create a cross breeze as the fan pushes hot air outside while creating a vacuum to bring cool air inside. It’s surprisingly effective so don’t knock it until you try it.

2. At the opposite wall

Instead of pointing your fan towards the bed, try angling it at the opposite wall or even the ceiling. The airflow from your fan should bounce off the wall which helps the cool air to circulate around your room more evenly. This is ideal for whole room cooling rather than having an icy chill blasting at you.

3. At the end of your bed

If you really can’t do without a fan facing your bed, consider increasing the distance between it and yourself. Rather than having it by your bedside, place your fan at the end of your bed. This way, you’re still getting a direct cool breeze but the distance helps you avoid feeling too cold or muscle cramping.

With Acqua di Parma celebrating 110 years in the business this year, there's certain to be no shortage of special launches. We've already seen the launch of Colonia Il Profumo Millesimato, which utilised a specific harvest of the Ylang Ylang plant.

Now, the brand has unveiled its summer collection, complete with one fragrance which utilises a bizarre technique in its creation. Called Bergamotto La Spugnatura, and it's the last part of that name which is important here.

The La Spugnatura technique is an ancient, artisan technique used to extract citrus essence. In essence, the peels are hand-pressed into a sea sponge, before being extracted into terracotta pots, to ensure depth and nuance.

It's an extreme measure, but one which perfectly summarises the lengths to which the brand will go for perfect fragrance. You won't find techniques like this used everyday.

The whole collection was designed with Laura Gonzalez – an interior architect renowned for her 'chic mix-and-match' style. Her recent work includes the Cartier Mansion in New York and the Hotel Saint James in Paris, among others.

Elsewhere in the range, we find the brand's Fico di Amalfi scent reimagined with a limited edition bottle. There are also a trio of 200g candles available in three scents – Sorbetto Al Limone, Latte di Mandorla and Granita Al Gelso – plus a host of lifestyle goods like candle holders, a fan, and a tic tac toe game.

Priced at £236 (approx. €275 / US$315 / AU$445) for the headline La Spugnatura bottle and £156 (approx. €180 / US$210 / AU$295) for the Fico di Amalfi bottle, these fit into the pricing already well established in the brand's catalogue.

It's not cheap, but the best things in life rarely are. When you consider the attention to detail and the determination to continue ancient techniques to produce the very best artisanal scent, it's hard to argue with.

The UK is currently experiencing a heatwave, with temperatures soaring up to 34°. While I’m absolutely loving the warmer weather, it’s been extremely difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

If you’re struggling to sleep in the heat, here are nine expert-approved tips to help you sleep in the UK’s 30° heatwave.

1. Switch to cooling, breathable materials

As the weather gets warmer, it’s vital to switch to cooler, breathable materials to help you feel more comfortable in the heat, while also managing your temperature regulation and sweat labels. Start by switching to a lighter, summer duvet with a tog of 4.5 to avoid overheating while you sleep.

Once your bed is cooler, it’s important to change to breathable pyjamas and sheets. According to Hannah Store, Head of Sleep Science at Mattress Online, you should “make sure to swap your cotton pjs for loose-fitting bamboo pjs as they wick moisture away from the skin and dry out quickly… Cotton takes a while to dry out, so if you struggle with sweating during the warmer months, switching out for polyester or bamboo sheets can stop you getting clammy during the night.”

2. Try the Mediterranean cooling method

We’ve all heard of the Scandinavian sleep hack, but now it’s time to turn to warmer countries for their sleep advice. Bill Parkinson, bed expert at Sleepy Piglet has found the Mediterranean cooling method is great for Brits who are unprepared for surging temperatures, and it’s an easy way to ‘heat proof’ your home.

Parkinson states that “You will notice in many Mediterranean countries that homes are set up to stay cool naturally. During the day, shutters or thick blackout curtains are used to create a ‘shade trapping’ effect – helping to keep cooler air inside – then in the evening everything gets opened up again to let air move through.”

He goes on to say that the Mediterranean or cross-breeze method “works best when you create a clear draught by opening windows on opposite sides of your home or room, so cooler air can easily flow in and push warmer air out. That constant movement of air can make a real difference to how the room feels at night.”

3. Cool your bed with a frozen water bottle

Similar to cooling your room down, cooling your bed before you get in it can make a world of difference to your sleep and comfort levels. Parkinson comments that his “favourite thing to do when the warmer months set in is to freeze a hot water bottle… Placing it in your bed a few minutes before you get in brings the temperature down quickly.”

If you have a mattress which tends to hold onto heat, you should consider adding a mattress cooling pad. This way, you don’t have to spend a fortune on a new mattress, and you can beat the heat in the summer and keep your warmer mattress for the winter months.

4. Avoid sleeping naked

Many people wear a lot less clothing when they sleep in a heatwave, but Natalie Pennicotte-Collier, sleep therapist and sleep expert at MattressNextDay says that this is the worst thing you can do.

When sleeping naked, there is “nothing helping absorb sweat or move moisture away from the skin overnight… without breathable natural fibre bedding to wick sweat away, moisture simply sits on the skin and creates a clammy humid ‘microclimate’ that is more likely to wake you up in the middle of the night.” Instead, stick to breathable materials, as mentioned above.

5. Adjust your meal timings

Rather than eating dinner late in the evening, try to move your meals earlier in the day. Shore from Mattress Online recommends “eating larger meals throughout the day, and smaller foods that are easier to digest, in the evening.”

The reason for this is “when we digest food, our core body temperature increases. So, eating large complex meals just before bed will cause your core body temperature to increase when you need it to decrease.”

6. Limited hidden heat from electronics

Cooling down your bedroom and other rooms in your home can do wonders for your sleep, but you might not have realised how much your electronics can contribute to indoor heat, especially laptops and TVs. Parkinson suggests “switching these off an hour or two before bed can help the room cool down properly; if possible, keeping them out of the bedroom altogether will help create a more analogue setup too.”

He also points out that “ charging your phone in a naturally cooler part of the house can make all the difference and will also help you reduce your screen time in the evening, allowing you to fully switch off before bed.”

7. Exercise earlier in the day

It’s difficult to exercise in the heat, particularly as our body temperature increases as we do. If you exercise too close to bedtime and don’t cool down properly, this can have an impact on your sleep. Try moving your run, workout class or other activities to earlier in the day to avoid this disruption. Whether you’re working out or not, you should also be keeping hydrated during a heatwave by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.

Since it launched its first hair straighteners in 2001, Ghd has gained a reputation for developing high-end hair stylers that deliver salon-worthy results. Its tools have earned a place in most professional’s kits and if they aren’t already in beauty fanatic’s daily routines, they’re almost certainly on their wish lists.

I’ve tested 20 hair curlers in my time as a beauty reviewer, and the Chronos Curve Classic Tong is the first I tried from Ghd. Its 26mm barrel promised to deliver defined waves and long-lasting curls with no frizz or ‘extreme’ heat damage. However, it certainly isn’t cheap, so I was keen to find out if it could live up to its lofty promises, or if I’d be sticking to my old trusty curling tong.

Price and availability

The Ghd Chronos Curve Classic tong has an RRP of £189, but is currently available for £149 at Ghd, Boots and John Lewis.

If you discount air-powered multi-stylers like the Dyson Airwrap and Shark Glam, that makes this one of the most expensive hair curlers you can buy.

Design and features

In terms of design, the Chronos offers exactly what you’d hope for at this price point. Its anodised matte black finish is effortlessly stylish, and there was nothing about this tong’s design I thought felt cheap or poorly considered.

The tong I tested is 26mm in diameter and designed to create defined curls and waves, but there is also a 32mm size available if bigger, voluminous curls are more your style.

Mastering the twisting and turning technique for curling tongs can be tricky, so I was glad to see the curler’s barrel is topped with a generous cool touch tip. This is especially useful for beginners, who can benefit from a little extra support while wrapping each section of hair and navigating the clamp mechanism.

That said, at 11.5 cm in length, the barrel is marginally shorter than average. This isn’t a problem when you know how to use the tong mechanism properly; I have long hair and it curls my hair with no problems, but if you can’t fathom using the clamp, there’s limited space to wrap your hair.

Like all heated Ghd stylers, the Chronos curler styles hair at a set 185°C. The brand claims this is the optimum temperature for fast styling and lasting results on all hair types. While I agree that this temperature is suitable for most hair types and textures, other hair styles I’ve tested have proven that lower temperatures can be just as effective at creating lasting styles. Any range of temperatures would have made this tool far better suited to styling fine, bleached or damaged hair, and it’s a shame that this isn’t an option in a tool as expensive as this.

The Chronos Curve tong also has a built-in heat stand and an automatic shutoff for safety, which switches the curler off after 20 minutes of inactivity. Its 2.7-metre cable is plenty long enough for home and salon use, and it is universal voltage, so perfect for travel.

Performance

Part of this curler’s charm is in its simplicity. Since there’s only one temperature option, all you need to do is flick a switch to turn the curler on. It heats up in a blisteringly quick 25 seconds (just enough time to spritz some heat protection into my hair) and lets you know it’s reached its target temperature with a reassuring bleep.

During use, the clamp hinge felt sturdy. I was particularly glad that there wasn’t anywhere for my hair to get caught or snag at the bottom of the clamp mechanism – a common problem among cheaper curling tongs with longer barrels, which renders the bottom few inches of space useless. I’d far rather a shorter barrel I can use without fear of ripping my hair out, like this one.

Regardless of if I used small inch-wide sections, or tried my luck with larger ones, the clamp provided good tension on the hair. This helped to smooth out texture and create a lasting style. And each time I turned the tong, the swivel cord meant I was never tangled up in wires.

I can’t say my results were hugely shiny, though. The anodised coating isn’t as silky smooth as in other ceramic curlers, which meant the hair appeared slightly duller than I was used to.

However, I can’t fault the styler on longevity. I have long, thick hair that’s very prone to dryness on the ends. I tested this curler on three occasions, and each time the curls lasted flawlessly on the first day, dropping to softer blown-out waves on days two and three. Despite the heat, my hair felt healthy to the touch, and I was grateful that I didn’t feel the need to re-style my hair on subsequent days.

Verdict

The Ghd Chronos Curve Classic tong is, hands down, the best hair curler I’ve tested for curl longevity. If you’re tired of curls dropping out too quickly and are willing to throw money at the problem, this is well worth the investment.

It styled my thick head of hair in under twenty minutes, and its premium finishes and sensible design features make the process simple enough for tong-shy beginners to learn the art of using a clamp. Throw in the fact that this curler has universal voltage, and you’ve got a curler that’s pretty hard to fault.

The only word of warning I can offer is that if your hair is fine, bleached or damaged, you’d be better off opting for something that has more varied heat options, as the 185°C temperatures can still be pretty vicious.

Alternatives to consider

If you want to achieve lasting curls on more delicate hair types, Cloud Nine’s The Curling Wand is an easy recommendation. Its tourmaline-ceramic barrel gives effortless shiny results, its wand shape is foolproof for beginners and, crucially, it has three styling temperatures ranging from 125°C to 175°C.

Or, if you struggle to curl your hair with a traditional wand or tong, the Babyliss Style Secret Air automatic hair curler is another easy recommendation. You might not realise it but your pillow is one of the most important parts of your sleep set-up. As it sits under your head and neck, your pillow is vital for support, aligning your spine and preventing muscle strain, so having a good, comfortable option could be the make or break on whether you sleep well or not.

I’ve tested many pillows during my time as Home Editor for T3, and have definitely found pillows that work well for my sleep style and others which really don’t. I, like many people, don’t especially enjoy waking up with neck pain so I’ve become very picky about which pillow I sleep with.

Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow review: unboxing

The Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow arrived vacuumed-packed and tightly rolled up in a cylindrical tube. While that might sound strange, this is how bed in a box mattresses are delivered as the smaller, space-saving packaging is much easier to deliver than a full-sized mattress.

Due to this tightly packed delivery system, the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow arrived a little deflated so I had to wait several hours for it to inflate – again, this is very common with some sleep accessories. It didn’t take too long for the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow to get back to its normal size, but when it did, it still had a very strong off-gassing smell.

The chemical smell took a while to dissipate, even after putting a pillowcase on it. I could still smell the packaging after a few sleeps, and while it was powerful and a little off putting, it didn’t massively impact my sleep. However, if you have a sensitive sense of smell, you might want to leave the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow for a few days before you start sleeping on it.

Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow review: design and features

The Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow is a memory foam pillow that features three layers of different foam. The top layer is the Thermosync Cooling foam which works to maintain and regulate your body’s temperature throughout the night, so you’re not too hot or cold.

The next layer down is the HRX foam which is designed to support your head and neck, while relieving any pressure around these areas. Finally, the third layer is the softest, and offers a comfortable, breathable surface.

Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow review: performance

Once the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow had fully inflated, I got to sleeping on it right away. The first couple of nights I felt a slight ache after swapping over as I was previously sleeping on quite a soft pillow but this initial ache went away after a couple of sleeps.

Emma states that the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow offers medium to firm support, although I found it to be on the soft to medium end of the spectrum. While it was softer than I was expecting, the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow was extremely comfortable and supported for my head and neck.

I was initially hesitant about the all-foam construction of the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow feeling a bit suffocating but I needn’t have been. The pillow had a nice bounce and spongy feel. While it did have a slightly sinking memory foam feel, I found the pillow to spring back very quickly and it didn’t feel too hot at all.

Speaking of heat, I run hot when I sleep and the weather was warm while I was testing the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow. Before testing, I was waking up with an extremely sweaty neck and back of head but I didn’t experience that at all with this pillow. I found the cover and layers to be great at wicking away moisture from my body, particularly around my neck and I felt cooler in general.

Another positive of the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow was its edge control. Even when I slept too close to the edges, the pillow didn’t feel like it dipped down too much, and kept very stable. I toss and turn a bit when I sleep, and the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow stayed perfectly in place.

Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow review: verdict

If you’re a hot sleeper like me, you’ll love the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow. It has a bouncy, springy feel and despite being made from memory foam which can be quite a heat-trapping material, Emma has engineered it to be breathable, cooling and moisture-wicking.

I didn’t experience any aches or pains during my time sleeping with the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow. My back and shoulders also felt more comfortable and less stiff after waking up with it, too, so it’s become a permanent part of my sleep set-up.

The only negative I had was the strong off-gassing smell which took a couple of days to go away. Once it was gone though, the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow exceeded my expectations.

The Panda Memory Foam Bamboo Pillow is another memory foam pillow which also has great cooling properties. Amongst the foam, it uses bamboo in its design which is moisture-wicking and naturally hypoallergenic so it’s great for people with allergies. It’s also eco-friendly and sustainable.

The REM-Fit 500 Cool Gel Pillow is probably softer than the Emma Adapt Cooling Pillow but its cooling gel gives it a proper cooling feel that can keep you comfortable during hot nights.

For a pillow that can be comfortable for all seasons, the Simba Hybrid Pillow with Stratos is made from small cubes of open-cell foam that has a standard side and cooling side, so you can switch between the two to suit all temperatures.

The wait is finally over – Luna has just announced a waitlist for its upcoming voice-first wearable. Building off the success of its smart ring, the Luna Band is designed to offer all-day health tracking, stress monitoring and recovery insights via a simple wristband and the Luna app.

Luna unveiled its Band wearable at CES 2026. Then, Luna promised a new type of wearable that was built around “real-time, voice-led health guidance” and with no subscription required. Now as the waitlist prepares to open this week, Luna has announced more details about the Band, including exciting feature upgrades.

Previously, all we knew about the Luna Band was that it would act similarly to the Luna Smart Ring Gen 2 with its health and monitoring features. As a hands-free device without a screen, the Luna Band comes with the Luna app which keeps all your data in one place, while allowing you to manually log meals, emotions, menstrual cycles and ask for advice from the Luna AI coach.

Now, the Luna Band will sync to its users’ calendar, and plan your entire day hour by hour. It’ll offer suggestions with a ‘touch’ on the wrist to improve your day, for example by suggesting fresh air before a meeting or trying meditation after a stressful event.

The Luna Band is paired with Luna’s LifeOS intelligence engine which is said to “read the body continuously through the Band and connect with other health data sources, including blood markers, medical context and food habits.” From there, the Luna Band and app creates a schedule for your day which you can follow or change. LifeOS will also adjust with you.

I got to test the Luna Smart Ring Gen 2 and the Luna app, and I really enjoyed using both of them. I received many Luna app notifications suggesting things to help my day, like having a drink of water or getting some fresh air, so I can only imagine this new Luna Band and LifeOS system will offer more personalised and actionable advice.

The integration with your calendar also sounds like a gamechanger, particularly for busy and high-stress days. During my testing, I found the Luna app to be very acute to signs of stress and anxiety, so I can only see this improving with the new Luna Band.

Cooling mattresses are everywhere at the moment, but very few manage to properly balance pressure relief, breathability and a premium feel all at once. Now that we’re heading into warmer temperatures, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect one, and the latest contender for that title is the Silentnight UltraGel Cool-to-touch 3000 Mattress.

Combining a thick pillow-top finish with a dual-layer 3000 spring support system and a cooling gel comfort layer, Silentnight is clearly targeting anyone who wants luxury comfort without the overly dense feeling that often comes with memory foam.

I slept on the mattress for three months, and below is exactly how it held up.

Price and availability

The Silentnight UltraGel Cool-to-touch 3000 Mattress is available in five sizes, with pricing starting from £930 for a single. Buyers can also choose between a soft or firm comfort rating, with no price difference between the two options. For the purpose of this review, I tested the king model in the firm rating.

I’d also recommend buying directly from Silentnight’s website if possible, as the brand regularly includes sleep bundles and extras depending on how much you spend. That said, the mattress is also available through retailers like Dunelm and MattressOnline if you prefer shopping elsewhere.

Delivery and unboxing

Silentnight offers free delivery on its mattresses, alongside a mattress removal service for £30. This needs to be booked in advance, with your old mattress ready for collection on the same day as delivery. I actually took advantage of this service myself, as I had a previous review mattress that needed collecting, and the process itself was very straightforward.

Delivery was confirmed around five after ordering, which is much faster than some other mattress deliveries I’ve experienced. However, on the morning of the scheduled delivery, I received a text saying it had been cancelled and that a new date would follow shortly after. I was never actually given a reason for the delay, but a replacement delivery date was arranged for around a week later and thankfully went ahead without any issues.

The team brought the mattress in and removed my old one without any problems. It was seriously heavy at around 75kg and arrived double-wrapped in thick plastic, so it's absolutely not the sort of mattress you’ll be casually carrying upstairs by yourself.

After unboxing, I did notice a fairly strong off-gassing smell, which actually surprised me because it's normally associated more with boxed mattresses than traditional sprung models. It’s completely normal and nothing to worry about, but it’s definitely worth mentioning if you’ve never experienced it before, as it can initially feel a little alarming. In my case, the smell gradually disappeared after around a week to a week and a half.

Design and features

The Silentnight UltraGel 3000 Pocket Mattress belongs to the brand’s UltraGel range, which focuses heavily on cooling comfort and pressure relief. It’s also one of Silentnight’s bestselling collections, and after spending time with it, it’s easy to see why.

The main headline feature is the UltraGel cool-to-touch comfort layer, which Silentnight says is designed to instantly draw heat away from the body as soon as you lie down. Unlike traditional memory foam, which can sometimes trap heat, the UltraGel material is designed to be far more breathable whilst still contouring gently around the body. Combined with the thick pillow-top and additional fibre comfort layers, the result is a mattress that feels plush, soft and immediately inviting.

Beneath the cooling layer sits the mattress’ 3000-spring support system. This combines 2000 full-sized Mirapocket springs with an additional 1000 mini springs layered above them. The idea behind this dual-layer setup is to improve both support and airflow whilst also helping the mattress contour more accurately to different body shapes. Because each spring moves independently, motion transfer is also reduced, which is particularly useful if you share a bed with someone else.

Visually, the mattress looks every bit as premium as its price tag suggests. The deep pillow-top design gives it a luxurious appearance, whilst the 37cm depth makes it feel incredibly substantial. Integrated turning handles and reinforced edges also help it feel durable and practical day to day.

The mattress is also single-sided and no-turn, meaning you don’t need to fully flip it over. Instead, Silentnight simply recommends rotating it from head to toe every few months to help maintain even wear over time.

Performance

It’s no secret that the Silentnight UltraGel Cool-to-touch 3000 is an extremely comfortable mattress, and after sleeping on it for three months, my sleep quality has been excellent. What I’ve personally loved most is that it sits perfectly between a traditional pocket sprung mattress and a cooling hybrid, so it doesn’t have the dense sensation you get with full memory foam, but it still delivers enough comfort through the gel layer and quilted surface to feel supported.

I also found it noticeably more breathable than many hybrid mattresses I’ve tested previously, which is particularly important for me as someone who overheats quite easily during the night. The cool-touch surface effect is most noticeable when you first climb into bed, and whilst that initial cooling sensation naturally fades after around 30 minutes to an hour, the mattress overall still sleeps cooler than many rivals I’ve tried.

Support has also been excellent, which I think largely comes down to that 3000-spring setup. Even when either my partner or I moved during the night, the other person was rarely disturbed, and the mattress maintained its support really consistently throughout testing.

The surface comfort itself is also fantastic underneath a fitted sheet. It has a soft cushioned feel that works especially well for side sleepers or anyone who dislikes very firm mattresses. I found it particularly helpful around pressure relief on my hips and shoulders, whilst the gel-infused comfort layer also gives the mattress a slightly more responsive feel than traditional memory foam.

That said, after a few weeks of testing, I did notice a ridge beginning to form slightly in the middle between where my partner and I sleep. Silentnight recommends rotating the mattress every few months, but this appeared earlier than I expected considering we were testing the firm version. Once rotated, the issue improved, but it’s definitely something worth being aware of if you’re investing long-term. I’d also recommend rotating it sooner rather than later to help maintain the mattress properly.

The other thing worth noting is the sheer depth of the mattress. At 37cm thick, even some deep fitted sheets won’t fully fit properly. Most standard deep sheets tend to max out around 35cm, so it’s definitely worth checking measurements carefully before buying new bedding.

Verdict

The Silentnight UltraGel Cool-to-touch 3000 is an extremely comfortable mattress that successfully blends the support of a traditional pocket sprung bed with the softer feel of a modern hybrid. The plush pillow-top design feels luxurious, whilst the UltraGel layer adds noticeable breathability that kept it feeling cooler than many rival mattresses I’ve tested.

That said, the mattress’ huge 37cm depth can make fitted sheets surprisingly awkward, and I did notice some dipping developing slightly earlier than expected, meaning regular rotation is definitely important here. However, if you’re after a premium-feeling mattress with a strong support underneath and a cooler sleep surface this is easily one of Silentnight’s best offerings.

Alternatives to consider

If you like the idea of a premium mattress with great support, consider the Sleepeezee Centurial 03. It sits slightly higher in price but its plush pillow-top design easily makes it one of the most comfortable models I’ve tested over the years.

Another alternative would be the Bensons for Beds Slumberland Air 9.0 Memory Mattress. Its combination of supportive pocket springs, pressure-relieving memory foam and breathable materials creates a sleep surface that feels both luxurious and well balanced.

We love all kinds of beauty tech here at T3, but when something is compact and actually has the battery life to survive life on the go, that’s when it really stands out. Personally, I love any gadget I can throw in my bag that’s going to improve not just the way I look, but also the way I feel – and the Philips Beauty Set 9900 encapsulates exactly that.

Design and features

Rather than focusing on a single category, Philips has combined multiple beauty routines into one premium cordless device. At the centre of the system is the handheld base unit, which powers all of the attachments and features a textured non-slip grip and a soft matte finish.

The core attachment is the epilator head, which uses Philips’ Double Action Technology with ceramic tweezers designed to grip hairs as short as 0.5mm. There’s also an integrated LED light at the front, making a difference when trying to catch finer hairs that would otherwise be easy to miss.

One of the more interesting additions is the ProGuide attachment, which Philips describes as the world’s first epilator guide with 360-degree visibility. It's designed to help improve the angle and positioning of the epilator whilst you’re using it, maintaining the ideal 75-degree angle. There’s also a built-in LED lighting ring around the guide itself, which gives you even more visibility during hair removal.

The newest and most premium feature in the Beauty Set 9900 is the SkinLED attachment, which introduces red and near-infrared LED skincare technology into the system. The attachment uses a 940nm wavelength designed to promote healthier-looking skin, as well as a built-in a smart temperature sensor that keeps the attachment warmed to around 45°C. The attachment itself is compact and rounded too, making it easy to target smaller areas like under the eyes, around the cheeks or across the forehead.

The facial cleansing brush attachment is designed to remove makeup, dirt and oil more effectively than manual cleansing alone. Alongside that is the exfoliation attachment, which is aimed at smoothing skin and helping reduce ingrown hairs by gently exfoliating the body.

For facial grooming, the Beauty Set 9900 also includes a dedicated facial hair remover. It even includes a built-in circular LED light and a small integrated mirror, which makes spotting and removing fine facial hairs so much easier.

Everything is neatly stored inside a premium travel pouch with dedicated compartments for each attachment. The device itself delivers up to 60 minutes of battery life on a single charge via USB-C, and it's also fully showerproof, meaning you can use it wet or dry depending on your preference.

Performance

It’s safe to say that after a few months of use – especially with the amount of travelling I do – the Philips Beauty Set 9900 has become a complete essential in my routine. It came everywhere with me, from trips to Milan to the south of Spain, and I couldn’t believe how often I found myself reaching for it whilst on the move.

I have to begin with the facial hair remover, as this was the attachment that stood out to me immediately. I’ve always been someone who avoided touching the hair on my face, mostly because I’d been warned against it for years. Luckily I’m fairly fair-haired so it was never a huge issue, but it's true that makeup sits better on smoother skin, because this attachment really helped with that.

I’d say it’s definitely designed more for peach fuzz rather than anything overly thick, but if facial fuzz is something that bothers you, you’ll absolutely love it. The integrated mirror and circular LED light are also hugely helpful, meaning you can use it almost anywhere and still see properly. It’s also incredibly quick and painless to use, and I probably would’ve bought the Beauty Set 9900 for this attachment alone, so the fact it comes as part of a wider kit is great.

My second favourite attachment has to be the SkinLED tool. I already use red and near-infrared light therapy in my skincare routine anyway, so I was really excited to see Philips include it here. It quickly became my go-to alternative whenever I didn’t want to pack my LED face mask whilst travelling, and I found it especially good for calming redness and helping smooth out textured areas of my skin. It’s not the sort of attachment where you’ll see instant results, but when you stick with it consistently, the benefits are real.

As someone who normally sticks to IPL devices rather than epilators, I was also pleasantly surprised by both the epilator head and the ProGuide attachment. The guide helps you move the epilator in a straighter, more controlled line, which not only makes the process easier but also helps avoid hairs growing back awkwardly. Again, the integrated lighting was beyond useful, especially for lighter hair.

I won’t pretend epilating was completely painless at first, because it definitely wasn’t, but I found it became much easier over time as my hair grew back finer and I got more used to the sensation. Honestly, I don’t think I would’ve reached for the epilator nearly as much without the ProGuide attachment, so I’m really glad Philips included it.

The facial cleansing brush and exfoliation attachment also ended up being surprisingly heavily used during testing. I especially loved the cleansing brush on flights or after long travel days when my skin felt congested and needed a deeper clean. The exfoliation attachment was probably slightly softer than I personally prefer, but that really comes down to personal taste. I also appreciated that both attachments came with their own protective covers, meaning I could pack them away whilst they were still damp.

The storage case also deserves a mention on its own – I loved the colour, the overall quality, and the fact there was enough room for every attachment without things feeling crammed together. There was even a little spare space left over, so I found myself storing a few travel-sized skincare products inside too.

Battery life has also been excellent. Philips claims around 60 minutes of runtime, but depending on which attachments I was using, I sometimes managed closer to 75 minutes on a single charge. I usually charged it before each trip just to be safe, but charging itself was fairly quick, normally taking around two to three hours.

Verdict

Instead of feeling like a collection of random attachments thrown together, every tool in the Philips Beauty Set 9900 feels thoughtfully designed and surprisingly practical – especially for anyone who travels regularly. The facial hair remover and SkinLED attachment quickly became standout favourites for me, whilst the premium travel-friendly design, strong battery life and USB-C charging made everything feel very convenient. Not every attachment will suit everyone, but the Beauty Set 9900 is the perfect way to simplify multiple beauty routines into one portable system, and I know I will continue using it for a very long time.

Alternatives to consider

The Beauty Set 9900 isn’t Philips’ first beauty multi-tool. You can still buy the older Beauty Set Series 9000, which offers a very similar experience but without the newer SkinLED attachment.

Your Apple Watch just got a reimagined version of the Headspace wellness app. Available on multiple versions of the Apple Watch and all Headspace subscriptions, the upgraded Headspace for Apple Watch app has more meditation, breathing and sleep features than before.

Headspace has been available on the Apple Watch since 2016. Now 10 years later, it’s been upgraded to offer better, streamlined mental health support on the go. How it works is by using Apple Health data, which allows the new Headspace app for Apple Watch to identify moments where users may want to rest and reset throughout the day.

The new Headspace app features include daily meditation sessions which pops up on your Apple Watch every morning so you can start your day calmly and more mindfully. Similarly, Apple Watch wearers can opt in for ‘breathing nudges’ which prompts them to do a 60-second breathing exercise when Headspace x Apple Watch thinks you need a quick break.

Other handy features include better sleep support, including wind-down sessions and sleep casts which are accessible via your Apple Watch so you don’t have to use your phone. Collections are also now available from your watch so you can enjoy meditations on the go.

My favourite feature is the SOS mode. If your Apple Watch detects stress or anger, SOS mode will name your emotional state before offering content which can help you avoid these feelings. Examples include ‘Panicking’ and ‘Losing Your Temper’. As someone who’s always panicking about something, this feature sounds like a helpful way to calm down and take a breath without getting too overwhelmed.

When asked about the new app, Fay Kallel, Headspace’s chief product and design officer said it “brings our clinically backed content to members in a new way, helping them find moments of mindfulness throughout their day and build resilience through small, consistent practices that seamlessly fit into their lives.”

To start using the new Headspace app on Apple Watch, you’ll need to update the Headspace mobile app. This will automatically download the Apple Watch app although some users may have to download it manually. Members will also need an iPhone 11 or later with iOS 26 or above.

Any Headspace app subscription will grant access to this new content via the Apple Watch app. The app is also available on Apple Watch Series 6 - 11, second and third generations of the Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch Ultra, Ultra 2 and Ultra 3.

Mattress toppers occupy an interesting corner of the sleep market. At their best, they can transform an uncomfortable bed without the expense of replacing the mattress entirely. At their worst, they're overpriced foam pads that slide around, trap heat and flatten out within weeks. Simba, a brand better known for its spring-and-foam hybrid toppers, has now added a foam-only option with the Cool Foam Mattress Topper, launched in March 2026 to coincide with World Sleep Day.

It's built around Simbatex, Simba's proprietary graphite-infused open-cell foam, which the brand claims offers over five times more airflow than conventional memory foam. At £149 for a single, rising to £299 for a super king, it sits below both the Hybrid Essential Topper (£249 for a single) and the flagship Hybrid Topper (£299 for a single) in Simba's line-up. In other words, it's the most affordable way to try Simbatex without committing to the full hybrid stack.

Simba Cool Foam Mattress Topper review: Unboxing and setup

The topper arrived at my house rolled and vacuum-packed in a cardboard box, and setup was quick. One of the more notable positives on unboxing: there was no detectable off-gassing smell, which is a common complaint with foam products and specifically something several Amazon reviewers flagged with other Simba toppers.

The topper took around 24 hours to reach its stated 6.5cm depth, a little longer than expected for immediate use but in line with Simba's own 72-hour guidance.

One practical consideration worth flagging for prospective buyers: sheet compatibility. My mattress is 9 inches (roughly 23cm) deep, and with the 6.5cm topper added, a standard fitted sheet only just reaches the base of the mattress. It can't be tucked underneath, and in fact the elastic spring backs a little, leaving about two inches of my mattress exposed.

If your mattress is on the deeper side, it's worth measuring before you buy and potentially investing in an extra-deep fitted sheet.

Simba Cool Foam Mattress Topper review: Design 

The Cool Foam Topper is 6.5cm deep and built from three layers: a soft knitted polyester cover, a Simbatex foam comfort layer and a contoured CertiPUR-certified foam support base. That contoured base features a peaked egg-box texture designed to promote airflow and provide targeted support, while the Simbatex layer above it does the heavy lifting in terms of cushioning and heat dispersal.

The cover is removable via a zip and machine-washable at 40°C on a reduced spin cycle. You can't tumble-dry or iron it, and the foam base itself can only be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth. The underside of the topper has an anti-slip base, supplemented by four elastic corner straps to keep everything anchored to the mattress.

Five weeks in, the Cool Foam Topper continues to impress. Press down firmly into the surface and it springs back immediately, which is consistent with Simba's medium-firm description and clearly distinguishes it from slow-rebound memory foam. That responsiveness matters for a combination sleeper like me, who shifts position continually during the night, and thankfully it remains as pronounced now as it was on day one.

The headline claim for this topper is cooling performance, and it holds up well under scrutiny. As part of a standard test, I held my palm flat against the surface for 90 seconds, then held it an inch above the spot immediately after removing it: there was no perceptible rising heat. Touching the same spot two minutes later, it felt neutral in temperature.

That's a meaningful result, and during the last fortnight of warm spring weather, I haven't once felt uncomfortably hot in bed, which isn't something I'd have said with confidence before.

The comfort gains have been equally tangible. I tend to wake with stiffness in my hips and lower back, but that pattern hasn't recurred since I started sleeping on the Cool Foam Topper. The contoured base appears to be doing genuine work in terms of pressure relief. Motion transfer has also been effectively eliminated: my partner's movements during the night have pretty much gone unnoticed. I tested this more formally by placing a wine glass on the one side and sitting on the other: the wine glass stayed admirably in place.

As for fit and security, the corner straps and anti-slip base have kept the topper firmly in position throughout testing, with very little give when pulled in either direction.

I've found the Simba Cool Foam Mattress Topper to be a confident, well-executed product that delivers on its three core promises: cooling, comfort and stability. It's simpler in construction than Simba's hybrid toppers, but given that it feels so comfortable and supportive, there's been no clear practical downside to that. The cooling performance is demonstrably effective and the pressure relief has made a real difference to me.

At £249 for a king, it's certainly not a throwaway purchase, but the 200-night trial and 10-year guarantee give you some protection if it doesn't work out. Overall I'd say if you're a hot sleeper, a side sleeper troubled by joint stiffness, or simply someone whose mattress has seen better days, the Simba Cool Foam Topper is well worth considering.

Simba Cool Foam Mattress Topper review: Alternatives to consider

The most obvious alternatives sit within Simba's own range. The Simba Hybrid Essential Topper (from £249 for a single) adds 1,500 titanium alloy microsprings to the foam-and-Simbatex construction, delivering more bounce and a more premium feel. If maximum bounciness is your priority, the flagship Simba Hybrid Topper (from £299) ups that to 1,900 springs. Both are more expensive and more complex, but if you want that additional responsiveness, they may be worth the premium.

Outside the Simba range, the REM-Fit Halo Memory Foam Topper is a strong all-foam alternative, with a gently cradling feel and excellent temperature regulation, though it carries a strong off-gassing smell on arrival. For a softer option at a lower price, the Panda Bamboo Topper is worth a look, though in my experience it runs slightly warmer than the alternatives on this list.

If you're a lover of men's fragrance, there will come a time where you start to look away from the beaten track. Sure, the likes of Tom Ford, Creed and Acqua di Parma produce incredible scents, but there's also a world outside of those brands where smaller companies are making niche bottles.

I've been fortunate enough to get my hands on quite a lot of them. So, if you're not sure where to start, look no further – here are five brands you might not be aware of, but you absolutely should be.

1. Jusbox

Up first is Jusbox. This brand offers something a little different, with each scent inspired by the work of a different musical artist, complete with a record-inspired bottle-top.

More than just the story, however, this brand seems to always knock it out of the park in terms of scent. I've had my hands on a decent cross-section of the range, and I've never had a bad experience.

My personal top pick is Beat Cafe, which is tastefully done with notes of leather and tobacco, and lots of elegance.

2. DS & Durga

Of the five options on this list, DS & Durga may well be the most well known. Still, the brand enjoys far less awareness than others in the space, so it's worthy of inclusion here.

Another musical option, DS & Durga is a husband and wife team, which creates a matching playlist for each of its scents. I've got a few of their bottles on my nightstand, mainly because the brand does an excellent job of filling the gap between familiarity and offering something new.

Take Crush Balls as an example – it's a fragrance which smells like fresh cut grass. You won't want that everyday, but when the occasion calls, nothing else will get close.

3. Goldfield and Banks

Hailing from Australia, Goldfield and Banks has garnered widespread acclaim on social media for its strong styling and well-executed scents. Everything about the experience epitomises luxury, and never wavers from that point.

My personal favourite is still Ingenious Ginger, which does a remarkable job of compressing the ginger note into something sweet and light, rather than outright spice. If you're looking for an all-weather daily wear option, this should be on your must-buy list.

4. Mind Games

Inspired by the world of chess and designed to be unisex, Mind Games fragrances offer a really compelling option for those seeking something different. Whether its an elegant gourmand packed with pistachio, or something deep and dark, there's a bottle here for you.

There's no getting around the price – these are eye-wateringly expensive – but the bottle designs are excellent and the scents are unlike anything else you'll find out there.

5. Born to Stand Out

Last, but in no way least, is Born to Stand Out. The Korean brand is all about breaking the rules, with edgy names for its scents – will you be wearing Sin & Pleasure or Naked Laundry today? – as well as an 8-bit middle finger emoji as the pointer on its website.

While still a relatively young brand, there's a lot of variety in the catalogue here. Everything from a well-stocked core offering to a stash of skin scents in the Eau Intimité range ensure there's something for everyone here.

Don't expect to like everything, but be certain there's a bottle for you.

When Samsung announced the Galaxy Ring back in 2024, it was a big deal. The smart ring market wasn’t as accomplished as it is now, with Samsung’s most notable competitor being Oura.

If you’ve ever looked into buying a smart ring, you've likely come across Oura. The Finnish company made its first smart ring back in 2015, and the latest model that launched in 2024 is excellent. But you pay a monthly subscription, which is something the Galaxy Ring managed to avoid, making it a compelling alternative if you had an Android phone – like the Galaxy Watches, the Galaxy Ring is not compatible with iPhone.

When might we see the Galaxy Ring 2 and what could it offer?

There’s nothing yet to suggest that will change for the second generation of Samsung’s smart ring, but the latest report does claim we won’t get to see the Galaxy Ring 2 until early 2027.

According to ET News, it’s “virtually impossible” for Samsung to release a successor this year – most likely thanks to the ongoing RAM crisis.

The report suggests that the Galaxy Ring 2 will focus on longer battery life, increasing from the current claim of seven days to up to 10 days. It’s also claimed that the comfort is being worked on too, which would apparently come from optimising component placement and reducing the weight and thickness.

In terms of features, it’s suggested Samsung is looking to improve things here as well. There could be a focus on improved sleep analysis and an expansion in cardiovascular health data.

Nothing is confirmed by Samsung itself for now, but if the rumour of an early 2027 release is true, perhaps the Galaxy Ring 2 will launch alongside the Galaxy S27 models. These usually appear in the first couple of months of the year.

The best LED face masks have moved well beyond their initial breakout phase, with many brands now on their second or third generations after years of success. The Silk’n LED Face Mask Pro is one of them, building on models like the Silk’n LED Face Mask 100 and Silk’n LED EMS Face Mask with a more flexible design and a wider range of treatment modes.

After testing it over an eight-week period, here’s how it compares in terms of design, usability and results.

Price and availability

The Silk’n LED Face Mask Pro is the brand’s most premium mask yet, arriving at £259 in the UK or $299 in the US. It’s still relatively affordable when you look at other LED face masks, but it’s a noticeable step up from the brand’s first mask, which you can now pick up for around the £100 mark.

At the time of writing, it’s also 15% off on the brand’s website, which makes the price a bit easier to justify.

Design and features

The Silk'n LED Face Mask Pro is made from a flexible, skin-friendly silicone that moulds to your face for more comfortable use. It also offers full-face coverage, including areas like the chin and jawline that can sometimes be missed, so treatments feel more even overall.

It’s completely wireless, with a side controller that magnetically attaches to the mask rather than being a separate dangling remote. At around 320g, it’s lightweight, and the adjustable straps keep it secure without needing constant repositioning.

The 'Pro' features include 120 LEDs combined with Silk’n’s Caeli lens technology, which is designed to distribute light more evenly and help it penetrate deeper into the skin. This is one of the key differences between entry-level and more advanced masks, as it affects how effectively the light reaches the layers of skin.

There are seven LED modes in total, powered by five wavelengths, each targeting different concerns. These include red light for collagen support, blue for blemish control, and near-infrared for deeper skin support. The ability to combine wavelengths adds more flexibility compared to simpler masks with fewer modes.

Each session lasts 10 minutes, with an automatic shut-off once complete. It’s rechargeable, and small details like battery and charging indicators make it feel more considered overall. It also comes with a compact quilted travel case, which shows just how flexible the mask really is.

Performance

After reviewing the brand’s previous masks, I’d been really looking forward to trying this one, and it quickly became clear it wasn’t going to disappoint. Not only does it feel like a proper upgrade from its predecessors, but it also holds its own as a strong contender in the LED mask space generally, especially at this price point.

As with all LED mask testing, I used the Silk’n LED Face Mask Pro consistently over eight weeks, which is typically the window you need to start seeing real results. I’ve been using it around five times a week, and I've been really impressed with how my skin looks now compared to when I started.

A lot of that, I think, comes down to the range of treatment modes. It’s been easy to tailor it to what my skin actually needs rather than just sticking to one setting. I’ve mostly been using the dark orange mode, which combines amber, red, near-infrared and deep near-infrared. Having them combined into one mode is such a time-saver, and it means I can target multiple concerns even in a short session.

On days when my skin’s been looking a bit dull, I’ve also thrown in an extra red light session for a bit of a boost, which has worked really nicely.

The cordless design has been another big advantage for me, and it just makes the whole experience feel a lot easier. I had the same appreciation for the Therabody TheraFace Glo for this reason, and I think I'm going to struggle returning to masks with a wired remote after this.

In terms of comfort, it’s up there as one of the nicest I’ve used. It’s even more flexible than the previous Silk’n LED EMS mask, and because it’s so lightweight, it’s easy to forget you’re even wearing it.

The chin strap is an interesting addition. It does help keep everything in place, but I couldn’t help feeling like it might benefit from sitting slightly lower to give better neck coverage. As it is, it focuses quite specifically on the chin area, which may or may not be what you’re looking for. For me, I would’ve liked a bit more flexibility there, especially for treating the upper neck.

Verdict

The Silk’n LED Face Mask Pro is a noticeable upgrade on the brand’s earlier devices, both in design and overall performance. Its flexible, cordless build makes it easy to use consistently, whilst the range of LED modes offers more versatility than simpler masks. There are a few minor design drawbacks – particularly around the chin and neck coverage – but with regular use it delivers visible results and feels like a more refined, well-rounded device overall.

Alternatives to consider

If you’re after something a bit more affordable but still want a wide range of treatment modes, the Nanoleaf LED Face Mask is a good option. It also offers seven modes, including near-infrared light, but sits much closer to the £100 mark.

Alternatively, the Silk’n LED EMS Face Mask is worth considering, especially if you like the idea of EMS alongside LED, as that adds a slightly different dimension to your treatments.

For a more advanced sleep experience, Eight Sleep has been updating its Pods with new AI features. Recently, it announced its new AI Sleep Agent that looks into your daily behaviour and uses these insights to offer better recommendations for your night’s sleep.

Building off the AI Sleep Agent, Eight Sleep has just announced its new Pregnancy Mode, its Autopilot feature which analyses your sleep patterns, environment and other biometrics, and adjusts accordingly to improve your sleep. Pregnancy Mode takes this a step further for pregnant women to ensure they’re getting good sleep throughout all stages of pregnancy.

Sleep disruption is something many pregnant women deal with, and it tends to start early in pregnancy and continues after the birth. With this in mind, Pregnancy Mode is designed to actively respond to the body's changes, and recalibrates to the user’s pregnancy stage.

The main focus for Pregnancy Mode is temperature control, as this is something that pregnant and menopausal women tend to have issues with. Eight Sleep already has Hot Flash mode to help combat menopausal night sweats, and Pregnancy Mode is compatible with it to help with pregnancy hot flashes.

When adapting the mattress cover’s temperature, Pregnancy Mode takes into account your pregnancy stage and pre-pregnancy baselines. It also provides detailed insights on your sleep stage, heart rate, snoring, HRV and breathing, and users can view how their biometrics are changing each week and how it correlates with their pregnancy stage.

This is truly a revolutionary feature and something we haven’t really seen before. As Dr Nicole Moyen states – Eight Sleep’s Senior Director of Science and Clinical Research – “sleep environments simply have not been designed for female physiology and pregnancy is the clearest example of that. The body is changing every week and Pregnancy Mode allows the Pod to respond to those changes automatically in support of better sleep.”

Pregnancy mode is expected to roll out on 10th May 2026 to subscribed Eight Sleep members in the Eight Sleep app. It’ll be part of the Autopilot 4.1 update so you may need to update your app to use the feature.

Xiaomi has quietly listed its new electric toothbrush on its global website, suggesting it’s gearing up for a worldwide launch. The new Xiaomi Mijia Smart Servo-oscillation Electric Toothbrush Pro is the brand’s most advanced model yet, and it introduces a more refined cleaning system built around a servo-oscillation motor that’s said to sweep up to 60° whilst vibrating at the same time.

It’s not the first electric toothbrush we’ve seen from Xiaomi, with models like the Xiaomi Oscillation Electric Toothbrush already available in several regions. However, this new Pro version clearly sits at the top of the range, especially when it comes to cleaning efficiency and smart features.

Pricing and official availability haven’t been confirmed yet, but as mentioned, its appearance on Xiaomi’s global site does strongly suggest a wider rollout is on the way.

One of its standout additions is the integrated colour display on the handle, which provides real-time feedback, highlighting areas that may need another pass and even showing plaque levels. The toothbrush can also connect to Xiaomi’s app to provide personalised brushing reports, whilst also offering vibration alerts if you’re applying too much pressure.

Xiaomi claims the toothbrush can last up to 180 days on a single charge, and a full recharge taking around five hours. It also comes with two brush head options, including a softer bristle variant for sensitive teeth and gums – something you don’t always see included as standard.

Dreame has offically unveiled its first-ever LED face mask as part of a wider global launch. The Chrona Photon Anti-Aging Skincare Mask offers five targeted light modes designed to tackle everything from fine lines to breakouts, and it’s completely cordless, making it much easier to travel with too.

The mask has launched alongside two new hair stylers and the Astra IPL Hair Removal Device, making this Dreame’s biggest beauty drop to date. This also isn’t the first time we’ve seen a smart home brand move into LED skincare tech, with Nanoleaf doing something similar with its own LED face mask last year.

The Dreame Chrona LED Light Therapy Mask comes in at $249.99, but it’s currently discounted to $215.99 on Dreame's website, which makes it one of the more affordable LED face masks out there right now. It’s exclusive to the US for the moment, but hopefully we’ll see it arrive in the UK and Europe soon.

In terms of features, the mask provides five targeted light modes and multi-wavelength LED technology aimed at improving radiance, firmness and overall skin health.

At the moment, a lot of the best LED masks come with standout extras, including the Shark Cryoglow's under-eye cooling or the Therabody Therface Mask Glo's built-in massage features. Whilst the Dreame Chrona doesn’t push things forward in that sense, it does have a couple of thoughtful touches, including its cordless design and extended coverage around the neck.

One feature I do really like is the inclusion of a spare battery. This means you can keep one charged and simply swap it in if the mask runs out mid-treatment, which will make the whole experience feel a lot more seamless.

According to a recent study conducted by Dreams, there is one key place that you’re forgetting to spring clean – your mattress. While you might be thinking, “I change the sheets every other week so isn’t that enough?” and the answer is no because your mattress is much dirtier than you may think.

Changing your sheets is one thing, but actually giving your mattress a deep clean is another. In new research found by Dreams, it revealed that 1 in 4 Brits have never cleaned their mattress.

The average mattress lifespan is up to 10 years, which means if you never clean your mattress, that’s 10 years worth of dirt, sweat and bacteria built up inside it. 1. Strip the bed

To get started, strip your bed on sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers and protectors. Crombie states that having a clear surface to work with “makes the whole job feel less overwhelming and means you can actually see if there are any marks, dust or areas that need attention.”

2. Open the windows and air the room

“One of the easiest ways to freshen up your mattress is to let it breathe,” says Crombie. Giving your mattress some air from your windows while it’s bare will air it out and make your whole room feel fresher.

3. Clear dust and debris

Before you start deep cleaning your mattress, you should start by getting rid of any dust, dirt and hair that has accumulated on the surface. Crombie suggests “using a UV mattress vacuum for a much deeper clean. A light steam using a handheld steam cleaner will also help to kill bacteria and lift dirt from the surface, leaving it feeling fresher.”

4. Spot clean stains

If there are any stains on your mattress, gently blot the area “so you don’t spread the stain or push it deeper into the mattress.” For stubborn stains, you can use products like hydrogen peroxide and even shaving foam. Try to use as little moisture as possible as this liquid can soak into the mattress which can affect its construction.

5. Dry your mattress and remake it with clean bedding

After you’ve deep cleaned your mattress, let it dry properly so you don’t trap any dampness in it. Once it’s dry and fresh, finish your mattress spring clean with clean bedding.

Despite what you might have heard, the best LED face masks and skincare gadgets aren’t a myth – I can say that with confidence after testing more than my fair share. What they are, though, is a commitment. These aren’t quick fixes, and they take consistency and a bit of patience before you start seeing real results.

That’s exactly why I was so intrigued by Nira Skin and its focus on skin rejuvenation through laser technology, which already sets it apart from the usual wave of skincare gadgets. It uses non-fractional laser technology to trigger your skin’s natural healing response, helping remodel existing collagen whilst encouraging new production over time.

You get five power levels to tailor the intensity depending on your skin sensitivity, and compared to earlier models, it has a larger contact area, meaning you can cover more area in less time. It also only weighs around 140g, which makes it easier to use and hold throughout treatment.

I’ve been testing the laser with the skincare bundle, which includes a Moisture-Lock Hyaluronic Acid Serum (50ml) and Youth Renewal Peptide Cream (80ml), both of which are designed to boost results. The acid serum acts as an advanced hydration multiplier, formulated with a 1.1% concentration of HA, whilst the peptide cream is a deeply nourishing formula with a clinically proven multi-peptide complex.

It charges via USB-C, taking around three hours for a full charge and delivering roughly 20-25 minutes of treatment time, depending on how often you use it.

Why is it more effective than an LED face mask?

The Nira Pro Laser (2nd Gen) utilises a non-fractional 1450nm wavelength laser that penetrates deep into the dermis, where it heats fibroblasts and stimulates collagen production.

This is what makes the Pro Laser significantly more powerful than a traditional LED face mask, which typically operates in the 600–1000nm range and doesn't reach as deeply. Whilst LED light can be great for surface-level improvements and supporting cellular activity, its collagen-boosting effects tend to be less consistent compared to the deeper results achieved with Nira.

Performance

Now, I’m 26 (nearly 27), which puts me in a slightly unusual position for testing anti-ageing devices. I’m not dealing with deep-set wrinkles yet, but I am starting to notice early signs, including fine lines around my eyes and slight creasing when I smile. That actually makes it easier to track subtle changes, and see what’s actually working and what isn't.

After nearly two months of use, I can confidently say this device has changed my perspective. I’ve relied on LED masks for years to keep my skin clear, but when it comes to tackling early signs of ageing, the Nira Pro Laser feels like a step up.

I’ve been using the Nira Pro Laser (2nd Gen) once a day, even though the brand says you can use it twice. I tend to reach for it after cleansing and before applying my skincare, taking a minute or so to run it over my focus areas – mainly around my eyes and along my lower cheeks.

The first thing that stood out to me is just how quick it is. I know I’m not treating my entire face and neck, but it only takes me around a minute each evening. That’s a big shift from the 10-12 minutes I’d usually spend using an LED face mask, and you’re not lying there half-blinded either.

Nira recommends starting low and gradually increasing until you feel the heat, and I found level four worked best for me. Levels one and two were so gentle I could barely feel anything at all, but the top level was too much, especially around more delicate areas like the eyes. That said, if you prefer a completely sensation-free experience, those lower levels are there, though it might take a bit longer to see results.

The feeling itself is completely painless. It’s a quick burst of warmth and quite similar to the sensation you get from an IPL devices, and it’s over in a flash. It does make me wonder what happens once you get used to the highest level, as there’s nowhere further to go, but I believe that’s something the newer model has addressed.

When it comes to results, I first started noticing changes around week six, particularly around my eyes. I had a couple of fairly noticeable crow’s feet that had developed over the past six months, and I was really curious to see if I could soften them. They haven’t disappeared entirely but they’ve faded significantly, and I have to properly look for them now instead of them catching my eye straight away.

I also focused on a faint line in the middle of my forehead and the creasing in my cheeks when I smile. Both have softened over time, which has made a visible difference overall. It’s definitely one of those devices where consistency is key – you won’t see much in the first few weeks, but stick with it and the results do come. I also found it lasted around 1.5 to 2 weeks on a full charge, which felt reasonable. It takes about three hours to fully recharge, so nothing particularly fast, but nothing frustrating either.

One small detail I really liked is how intuitive it is to use. The device makes a little jingle every 10 pulses to prompt you to move to a new area, and it gives a longer beep if you’re not making proper contact with your skin. It’s touches like these that make the whole experience feel more guided and ensure you’re using it properly without having to think too much about it.

Verdict

The Nira Pro Laser (2nd Gen) proves that at-home skincare devices can go beyond surface-level results. It’s quick, easy to use, and delivers visible improvements if you’re consistent. If you’re serious about tackling signs of ageing and want something that fits effortlessly into your routine, it’s absolutely worth a purchase.

Alternatives to consider

There’s nothing quite like the Nira Pro Laser (2nd Gen) at this level, aside from the newer third-gen model which has only just launched. As mentioned, I’m currently testing that one next, so I’ll share my thoughts in due course.

Another product I still recommend is an LED face mask. Even though the Nira Pro Laser has completely won me over when it comes to wrinkle care, I’d still point you towards the Shark CryoGlow. It’s my favourite mask I’ve tried, and its treatment times are noticeably shorter than many other models out there.

Similar to March’s fragrance launches, April’s newest scents have been inspired by spring, so think florals, fruits and musk. Unisex fragrances have also been prominent which seems to be a key trend within the beauty and grooming industry this year.

Japanese audio company, Final has just expanded its ZE sleep headphones series with its new ZE500 sleep earbuds. For those who love ASMR, the Final ZE500 offer ‘whisper-like’ voice-led sleep sounds to help you drift off to sleep comfortably and naturally – and they’re surprisingly affordable, too.

Listening to ASMR to fall asleep is one of my guilty pleasures, so the Final ZE500 are right up my street. Designed for ASMR, the Final ZE500 offer sleep stories, soft spoken word and voice-led audio to help you wind down and fall asleep at night.

With ‘whisper-like’ sound, the Final ZE500 perform at low volumes while still being immersive and limiting background noise. The ASMR mode removes touch sounds and voice prompts so your audio will play completely uninterrupted.

In terms of design, the Final ZE500 are earbuds so they sit inside the ear. Wearing this type of headphones can get uncomfortable after a while, and even more so if you’re wearing them to sleep in, but Final has developed a new ASMR Port to solve this problem.

The ASMR Port works by adjusting increased pressure in the ear canal. This relieves pressure on the eardrums so they’re more comfortable to wear overtime and are safer for your ears. The earpieces are also made from soft, lightweight silicone that only weigh 3g per earbud so they’ll stay fixed in your ear all night without giving you any aches or soreness.

The only concern I have for the Final ZE500 is the battery life. Final states that the sleep earbuds have up to 4.5 hours of playback and up to 18 hours with the charging case. Most people sleep for longer than four hours so it’s not a huge amount of listening time, especially not compared to other sleep headphones on the market.

Personally, I listen to ASMR before I go to bed and then turn it off once I feel sleepy enough to fall asleep without any external noise. If you’re someone who does that too, the Final ZE500 could be a great fit but if it’s all night listening you’re after, you might want to consider a different pair of sleep earbuds.

I’ve tested many products for T3 over the years from barbecues to mattresses and beyond, but one of my favourite gadgets to try has to be a wake up light. Even though I write about sleep extensively, I have a terrible morning routine, and the only thing I’ve found that helps me wake up ready for a productive day is a wake up light.

While I’ve tested many of the big name companies like Lumie and Philips, I’ve yet to try one of the most popular wake up light brands, and that’s Hatch. Launched in 2014, Hatch is well known for its sound machines, night lights and wake up alarms, and the Restore 3 is its latest model.

I’ve spent the past month or so making the Hatch Restore 3 part of my bedtime and morning routines, and this is how I got on.

Hatch Restore 3 review: price and availability

The Hatch Restore 3 is available to buy for $169.99 at Hatch. As a US product, the Hatch Restore 3 is tricky to find in the UK but it is available for £195.99 at Healf. It comes in putty, greige and cocoa colours.

To use the Hatch Restore 3, you’ll need to use the Hatch app which comes with a Hatch+ subscription. It’s free for the first 30 days before you pay $4.99 a month or $49.99 annually.

Hatch Restore 3 review: set up

Setting up the Hatch Restore 3 was extremely easy. One thing to keep in mind if you’re a UK customer is the Hatch Restore 3 will come with a US plug, so to test it, I needed a US to UK travel adapter to use it.

Once it was plugged in, I turned the Hatch Restore 3 on and downloaded the Hatch app on my phone. I had to enter my Wi-Fi to connect the two, and I signed up for an account and a free 30 day trial. From there, the Hatch app had me name my wake up light and take a quick quiz on how much sleep I get and what I wanted to improve on.

Using those results, Hatch recommended specific timings for my morning wake up and evening wind down. After this, I did what I normally do when testing wake up lights by flicking through the light, colour and sound options. I set up a wind down routine for 11pm each night, featuring sunset lights and rainforest sounds, and a morning routine of birds chirping at 7am with the light gradually increasing for 30 minutes before.

Hatch Restore 3 review: design and features

The Hatch Restore 3 is described as a smart sleep clock but it’s a lot more than that. It can be used as a wake up or sunset light, a bedside lamp and an alarm clock, so it’s got everything covered when it comes to falling asleep and waking up in the morning.

Available in three colours – I tried the putty colour – the Hatch Restore 3 has a semi-circle shape with buttons on the top and sides. It measures 7.24in in length, 2.43in in width and 5.31in in height, and weighs just 1.27lbs, so it takes up minimal room on your bedside table.

For the controls, the Hatch Restore 3 has a large circular button at the top. The button can be pressed to skip to different parts of the routine as well as start and snooze it. It can also be twisted to control the volume and increase or decrease the brightness.

Either side of the main control button are two buttons that sit flush against the device rather than protruding from it. The button with the three dots is the Unwind button which swaps you to your next routine. The other button is for pausing and playing your routine.

On the right side of the Hatch Restore 3 is the Bedside Light button which displays a warm light without you needing to play a routine. On the left side is the Alarm Toggle button which disables all your alarms. While you need the Hatch app to customise different routines on the Hatch Restore 3, the device has all the buttons you need so you shouldn’t have to use the app often once you’ve saved your settings.

Hatch Restore 3 review: app

The Hatch app is free to download on iOS and Android devices, and comes with a monthly or annual subscription after the 30 day free trial. The app is where you can customise your different routines, lighting, sounds and brightness, but it’ll also give you recommendations here and there about your routine.

The Hatch app has lots of options available, including 60+ sleep sounds, 100+ ambient lights and up to 22 pre-programmed colours. When choosing your routine, the app allows you to preview songs and lights which are shown on the Hatch Restore 3 device before you add it to your routine.

Setting routines is easy, and you can choose what time you want things to start, how long for, and specific days. I found that the app could be a bit glitchy at times as when I was setting up my first routines, it often froze and lost my settings so I had to set them again.

I felt there was a bit too much going on in the app at times. Oftentimes its pop-ups which gave advice on how to use certain features would appear and it was almost impossible to get rid of them and go back to what I was doing without exiting the app first.

Hatch Restore 3 review: performance

Wake up lights tend to have quite unusual designs, but I really loved the look of the Hatch Restore 3. I have quite a small bedside table so I try to keep things minimal, but the Hatch Restore 3 sat nicely taking up hardly any room, and it looked great. It’s easily the best looking wake up light I’ve tried.

I used the Hatch Restore 3 as part of my morning routine, and I found it woke me up very naturally and accurately – I definitely didn’t sleep in when using it. Its gradual brightening lights were very gradual which I appreciated, and I’d wake up to different sections of brightness before it got to its maximum level. When it did, the light was enough to wake me but I also enjoyed the relaxing bird noises as a ‘back up’ alarm.

The wind down routine was very relaxing, and it had my husband falling asleep almost immediately. This is where I used the lights and colours the most, and I loved the variety of them. When the light is on, it doesn’t light up the entire device as there is a ‘bar’ at the bottom which shows the time and icons. However, I didn’t find that it made the light any less powerful and enjoyed still being able to see the time.

I’m not the biggest app user – if I don’t need to use one, I won’t! – so I liked being able to use the on-device controls of the Hatch Restore 3. The buttons took a bit of getting used to but I liked that I didn’t need to go into an app first thing in the morning to turn off my alarm.

Hatch Restore 3 review: verdict

There’s a reason that the Hatch Restore 3 pops up whenever you search for wake up lights, and that’s because it really does live up to the hype. While I definitely think the app could use some improvements in terms of usability, once you’ve sorted your routines, the Hatch Restore 3 takes it from there.

The variety of sounds, lights and colours are extensive, and the design of the Hatch Restore 3 is cute and fun. It definitely deserves a place on your bedside table, although I think the ongoing price might make people pause.

Hatch Restore 3 review: alternatives to consider

The Dreamie Sleep Assistant Smart Alarm Clock is a newer wake up light that I just tried – and loved. It has a similar concept to the Hatch Restore 3 but it’s completely subscription free and has all your controls on the device, so you don’t need an app for it either. It’s also a US-only product so you’ll need an adapter to use it in the UK and Europe.

If it’s a similar design you’re after, the Momcozy Sunrise Wake Up Light also has a semi-circle design but it doesn’t feel too big and overpowering like some other wake up lights do. It has similar functionalities, as it can also be used as a wake up and sunset light, alarm clock and sound machine.

It’s always a good day when Dyson drops a brand new hair tool, and that’s exactly what happened earlier this week. After years of fans asking for something they can properly take on the go, the brand has finally delivered with the Dyson Supersonic Travel.

Fast forward a few days and I’ve now been using it pretty much non-stop, so I’ve got plenty of thoughts. If you’re even slightly tempted, you might want to brace yourself – because there are quite a few reasons why this could end up on your wishlist very quickly.

Price and availability

The Dyson Supersonic Travel comes in at £249.99 via Dyson, as well as retailers like Boots and John Lewis. If you buy directly from Dyson, you also get a free travel bag which is usually priced at £45. The hair dryer is also available in the US, priced at $299.99.

Right now, it’s only available in one colourway – Ceramic Pink and Rose Gold – which is easily one of Dyson’s most popular finishes. However, I expect Dyson will release it in more colours, especially if it ends up being as popular as it’s likely to be.

Attachments

In terms of attachments, the Supersonic Travel keeps things simple and comes with just the smoothing nozzle – the same one we’ve seen on the original Supersonic and the Nural. However, the hair dryer itself works with existing Supersonic attachments, which means if you already own either of its predecessors, you don’t need to rebuy anything. It's a huge advantage, and is actually the first time we’ve seen this kind of crossover within Dyson’s hair tool lineup.

They also still use Dyson's magnetic design too, although I’ll come back to that in a second, because it’s not completely identical across the board.

Design and features

Despite being 31% smaller than its predecessors, there’s a lot going on here beyond just the compact size. Design wise, it still looks unmistakably Dyson, with a minimal body and nice weight distribution. It feels balanced and easy to use, even for longer styling sessions.

You still get intelligent heat control, measuring airflow temperature over 100 times per second to prevent heat damage and help maintain shine, which is one of Dyson’s standout features. It also has a high-velocity airflow, so drying still feels quick and controlled, even though it’s been slightly optimised for portability.

That said, standout feature for me has to be the automatic universal voltage. It adapts wherever you are in the world without needing a converter, which is something Dyson hasn’t managed on any of its tools so far. You'll know how frustrating it can be if you’ve ever travelled to the US and realised your styling tool won’t work, so this completely solves that problem.

You also get three heat settings and two speed settings, along with a two-metre cable, which feels more than generous for a travel tool.

Performance

Overall, the Supersonic Travel feels like a really natural addition to Dyson’s lineup, and my experience with it so far has been great. It’s noticeably lighter and smaller, but still delivers results that feel almost identical to the Supersonic Nural.

It's important to know that there are a couple of features missing. There’s no Scalp Protect mode, but that wasn’t something I personally loved on the Nural anyway, so I don’t feel like I’m missing out. You also don’t get a cool shot button, which might matter if you rely on it to set your style, but you won't notice it if you didn’t use it before.

It’s also just really comfortable to hold and still feels powerful, which is exactly what you want from something designed for travel. I wasn’t able to test the universal voltage abroad yet, but knowing it’s there is probably my favourite thing about the whole tool.

One thing I did notice is that whilst all Supersonic attachments are technically compatible, they don’t all feel the same when it comes to the magnetic fit. Smaller attachments snapped on perfectly with no issues, but some of the larger ones – like the Flyaway Smoother – needed a bit more effort to attach and didn’t feel quite as secure. They still worked, but it wasn’t as seamless as with the smaller pieces.

All in all, the Supersonic Travel is essentially everything great about its predecessors, just in a much smaller, more portable form. For me, the features it leaves out aren’t dealbreakers, so considering how highly I rated the Supersonic Nural, the fact this delivers such similar results really says it all.

Verdict

The Dyson Supersonic Travel feels like a long-overdue addition to the brand's lineup. It keeps the performance, design and overall experience of Dyson’s full-size dryers, but packs it into something far more practical for travel. The universal voltage alone makes it stand out from pretty much everything else on the market, and whilst a few features are missing, they’re unlikely to be dealbreakers for most people. If you travel regularly and want salon-level results wherever you are, this is easily one of the most compelling options out there right now.

Alternatives to consider

When it comes to alternatives, the first one that comes to mind is the Laifen Mini High-Speed Hair Dryer. It’s also compact and has smart temperature control, but it doesn’t offer universal voltage – so Dyson still has the edge here.

I’d also still recommend the Supersonic Nural if you’re mainly looking for a hair dryer to use at home. It has more features overall, and whilst it’s still relatively lightweight, it’s better suited as a full-time styling tool rather than something you pack in your suitcase.

The Autopilot feature powers the built-in sensors in the smart mattress cover which allows the Pod to make changes throughout the night, like raising the bed to stop snoring or cooling the cover down to help with temperature regulation.

The new Sleep Agent builds upon Autopilot’s functionality and uses data from your daytime activities to suggest actionable insights to improve your sleep. It does this via platforms like Apple Health or Health Connect, where you can track your meals, alcohol intake, exercise and other activities.

By logging this type of data, Eight Sleep and Sleep Agent get better context on your day which it then uses to predict your night’s sleep. From there, it’ll make adjustments in line with your daily activities, including mattress temperature, timings and other settings.

For example, if you log in the Eight Sleep app or Apple Health that you’ve had alcohol before bed, it’ll make your bed’s temperature cooler as alcohol raises your core body temperature which can make it harder to fall asleep.

My favourite part of Sleep Agent is the brief it gives the next day. Previously, Eight Sleep members would receive sleep scores and percentages, but the new Sleep Agent will properly dive into your sleep, link actions together that could explain the nature of your rest and what to do next.

By tagging what happened during your day in the Eight Sleep app or with other health platforms that link to it, Sleep Agent will learn your habits and link them to your sleep. For example, if you’ve just started doing regular exercise and your sleep has gotten deeper, Sleep Agent will identify this and include it in the brief, like “Deep sleep is strong. Your workout yesterday probably drove it.”

Available today, the new Sleep Agent is available to all Eight Sleep members via the iOS and Android app as a free update.

The same handful of names have dominated the electric shaver category for years, and while the big players have steadily improved what's under the hood, the actual designs haven't changed all that much. You know the drill: long, contoured handle, rubber grip, a price tag that makes you wince when it's time to replace the foil head.

That's something personal care appliance maker Laifen seems determined to shake up. This relatively fresh brand has built a reputation in the last few years by taking categories the big guys had got comfortable in, like high-speed hair dryers and electric toothbrushes, and producing kit that looks and performs like flagship money but doesn't actually cost it.

The P3 Pro is the brand’s current flagship shaver. It's a compact foil model milled from a single block of aluminium, powered by dual linear motors at a combined 24,000 cuts per minute, with a three-element shaving head, IPX7 waterproofing, USB-C charging and a quoted 100 minutes of battery life. There's even a little glass window on the front so you can watch the motors at work.

I've been using the palm-sized shaving gadget for the past month to see if it performs as well as it looks. Here's what I think.

Laifen P3 Pro review: price and availability

The Laifen P3 Pro is on sale now in the UK and the US, with availability gradually expanding elsewhere. In the UK, you can pick it up direct from Laifen EU or via UK retailers like Amazon, where it's currently listed for just short of £170.

In the US, it's listed at $199.99 on Laifen's own site, and Australian buyers are looking at around AU$249.95 RRP, with regular discounts dropping it closer to AU$200.

For context, that puts the P3 Pro a fair bit cheaper than the obvious rival, the Panasonic Arc5 Palm, which often costs nearly twice as much. So if you're after the premium travel-shaver vibe without quite paying flagship money, the Laifen is a worthy contender before you even switch it on.

Laifen P3 Pro review: design and build

The first thing that hits you with the P3 Pro is how unusual it looks. It's not your typical long, contoured shaver with a rubberised grip. Instead, it's a chunky little metal cuboid, milled from a single block of aluminium, with a small glass window on the front so you can actually see the dual motors at work. It's a bit like one of those open-window watches, and yes, it's a flex, but it's a fun one that I’m glad is there.

The little glass display panel up front is minimalist but does the job, with a subtle icon for the travel lock and another for charging status. It’s all you need in shaver like this.

Build quality is where the P3 Pro really shines. Everything about it feels expensive. The sandblasted aluminium has that cool, matte finish that reminds me of a MacBook, and the magnetic foil head snaps into place with a satisfying click. There's no plasticky feel anywhere here, it feels high-end, almost like an Apple gadget rather than a bathroom appliance.

The issue with all that metal is that it adds up. At 180g, it's heavier than you'd expect for something this small, and because the surfaces are so smooth, it can be a bit slippery when your hands are wet. I almost dropped it in the sink a couple of times before I worked out a proper grip.

It's also worth flagging that there's no pop-up trimmer, which is a shame. For sideburns and tidying around a beard line, you'll still need a separate tool. Given how compact the P3 Pro is, I get why Laifen left it out, but I'd love to see one on a future model.

The travel-friendly aspect is nicely thought through, though. There's a proper travel lock activated by a long press of the power button, the USB-C port is sealed with a sturdy rubber flap, and the whole thing slips into a wash bag without any drama. Just be aware that the travel pod is sold separately, which feels a bit cheeky at this price.

Laifen P3 Pro review: performance and features

So, does it actually shave well? In short, yes, and surprisingly so for a brand that's still relatively new to this category.

Laifen has gone with a dual linear motor setup, which it markets as 24,000 cuts per minute. The slightly nerdy reality is that each motor runs at 12,000 CPM, but the two work in opposition to cancel out vibration, and the result in your hand is genuinely impressive. There's none of that buzzy, rattly feel you get from cheaper shavers. It just hums along smoothly while at work.

The shaving head uses two foils plus a central slit trimmer for catching longer, flat-lying hairs. These foils are ridiculously thin at 0.055mm, and they're made from a low-nickel stainless steel, which is good news if you've ever had a reaction to dodgy metals on your face.

In day-to-day use, I found the P3 Pro one of the most comfortable foil shavers I've tried in a while. It glides over the skin without that scratchy, dragging feeling, and I didn't end up with any redness, razor burn or post-shave irritation, even when shaving against the grain on my neck. For anyone with sensitive skin, that alone is good news.

Closeness, while very good, isn’t exactly best-in-class. On the cheeks and neck, it gives a properly clean finish that lasts the day, but on thicker stubble around the chin and moustache, I felt it sometimes needed an extra pass or two to get it smooth. If you go four or five days between shaves, you might find yourself working a bit harder, but for daily or every-other-day use, it's spot on.

Cleaning is especially easy, too, thanks to the shaver’s magnetic head. You pull it off, rinse the lot under the tap, shake it dry, and you're done in under a minute. The whole shaver is IPX7 rated as well, so you can use it wet or dry, in the shower or over the sink, and not worry about it breaking. One small mystery: hair clippings barely seem to collect anywhere visible. The shaver always looks weirdly clean, even after a proper going-over. I'm not complaining, though! I just suspect these might turn up somewhere eventually.

Battery life is another top thing about this shaver. Laifen quotes around 100 minutes of cordless use per charge, and in my testing I actually got a fair bit more than that with normal everyday shaves. There's also a quick-charge feature that gives you roughly seven minutes of use from just three minutes plugged in, which is especially useful for those times when you've forgotten to charge it before a trip. USB-C charging means you can use the same cable as your phone or laptop, so there's one less faff to deal with when on the go.

Laifen P3 Pro review: verdict

The Laifen P3 Pro is one of those products that makes you wonder why the bigger brands haven't done the same sooner. The build quality is nothing short of exceptional for the money, and the shave itself is comfortable and consistent. I also am a big fan of the travel-friendly touches like USB-C, quick-charging and the travel lock all show that Laifen has actually thought about how people use these things day to day.

It isn't perfect, though. The lack of a pop-up trimmer is a real miss, and the metal-and-glass body can be slippery when wet. It’s also a massive shame that there’s no carry pouch included in the box, and an extra kick in the teeth that the travel pod costs extra - especially when the shaver is pitched as a travel companion.

If you've got thick stubble and you tend to leave shaving for several days, you might want a more aggressive shaver, but for daily or near-daily shavers who want something that looks the part, lasts ages between charges, and doesn't irritate the skin, the P3 Pro is a really easy recommendation.

Dyson has unveiled the new Supersonic Travel, and it finally fixes one of the most frustrating issues with the original. Not only is the new version 32% smaller, but it now comes with universal voltage – so you can actually use it anywhere in the world without worrying about converters.

The Supersonic Travel also works with existing Dyson Supersonic and Supersonic Nural attachments, meaning you don’t have to purchase a whole new set. That’s a welcome change, especially considering what happened with the Coanda 2x Airwrap launch, where older attachments weren’t compatible.

The Dyson Supersonic Travel is priced at £249.99 and is available to buy now via Dyson’s website. It's also available in the US, priced at $299.99.

Just like its predecessors, the Supersonic Travel uses intelligent heat control technology, measuring airflow temperature over 100 times per second to prevent extreme heat damage whilst still delivering fast, even drying. The Dyson Supersonic Nural first arrived on the scene in 2024 as the long-awaited evolution of Dyson’s original Supersonic hair dryer, which completely changed the haircare category back in 2016. At first glance, you’d be forgiven for thinking they’re pretty similar, but there’s actually a lot more going on here than meets the eye.

The Nural takes everything that made the original such a standout and gives it a clever upgrade, adding a layer of smart features designed to protect your scalp and tailor the styling experience more to you.

It is widely available through Dyson’s own website and Dyson stores, as well as selected retailers such as John Lewis, Currys and Argos.

I’ve been testing the Pink and Rose Gold colourway, but the Nural is also available in Red Velvet and Gold, Prussian Blue and Rich Copper, and Dyson’s latest finish, Ceramic Apricot and Topaz.

Attachments

As with other Dyson hair tools, there are different variations depending on your hair type. These versions then come with different attachments, so your kit is tailored to how you’ll actually use it.

I’ve been trying the Straight to Wavy option, which includes five attachments. The Gentle air attachment is designed for close-up drying and styling, whilst the Styling Concentrator has been re-engineered with a wider, thinner blade of air for more precise styling. There’s also the Diffuser, which disperses air evenly around curls, the Flyaway Smoother to create a finished look, and the Smoothing Nozzle to remove unwanted frizz.

Only the Gentle air attachment, Styling Concentrator and Smoothing Nozzle are compatible with Scalp Protect Mode, which I’ll come onto in a second. Each attachment connects magnetically to the dryer itself, which makes switching between them quick and easy.

Design and features

The Dyson Supersonic Nural is still instantly recognisable as a Dyson hair dryer, keeping the same signature cylindrical design with the motor housed in the handle for better balance. It remains compact and lightweight, with airflow running through the central hollow barrel.

Where it differs from the original Supersonic is in the added intelligence, as inside the barrel are new sensors that allow the machine to actively adapt as you style. There’s also capsule illumination, where a subtle light changes colour depending on the heat level, giving you a clear visual cue as you adjust settings.

It also includes practical smart features like pause detect, where airflow automatically reduces when you put the dryer down, then resumes when you pick it back up.

One of the biggest upgrades is Scalp Protect Mode, which measures how close the dryer is to your head and automatically adjusts heat output in real time. The closer it gets, the more it reduces temperature to help protect your scalp and minimise heat damage, whilst still drying efficiently. You can switch this on or off, and as mentioned, it only works with three of the five attachments.

Another smart addition is attachment recognition. The Nural can detect which styling attachment is in use and automatically recall your preferred heat and airflow settings for that tool, making switching between styling routines quicker and more seamless.

When it comes to controls, there are three precise airflow settings – high, medium and low. There are also four heat settings, ranging from 28°C up to 100°C, as well as a 28°C cold shot designed to set your hair after styling.

Performance

The Dyson Supersonic Nural is undoubtedly one of the best hair dryers on the market today, and it feels like a significant step forward from its predecessor. Within around a week of use, I noticed my hair felt less tangled and dry, and noticeably shinier too. As nothing else in my haircare routine changed, it definitely like this was down to the Nural itself.

The dryer is lightweight to hold and has an undeniable premium quality about it. It feels sturdy and expensive in the hand, and even small details like the magnetic attachments add to its high-end feel.

As with most hair tools, I quickly worked out which attachments suited me best. The Gentle Air attachment was the one I reached for most to rough-dry my hair before styling, especially as it works with Scalp Protect Mode. I’m not particularly sensitive to heat, so I don’t always notice when tools get too close to my scalp, which made this feature a really useful for protecting hair health. It was also impressively quick, taking around 8-9 minutes to dry my hair, and as it’s the lightest attachment, it barely added any weight.

I also absolutely loved the Flyaway Smoother. Having used something similar on the Airwrap i.d., I was already a fan, but I much prefer the Nural’s version as it has a sort of integrated brush that helps smooth and detangle further.

The other attachments performed well too, but I found myself naturally gravitating towards these two the most. I was also surprised by how quiet the Nural is, which was great when trying to avoid early morning complaints from my partner.

That said, I did find that Scalp Protect Mode could occasionally lower the temperature more than necessary, even when the dryer wasn’t particularly close to my head. It’s clearly a very sensitive feature, which is better than the alternative, and it can be turned off quickly. However, when I was in a rush, I sometimes chose not to use it, as it could slightly increase drying time. Still, it’s a great feature to have overall, and not something I’d want removed.

Verdict

The Dyson Supersonic Nural takes everything that made the original Supersonic so popular and refines it with incredibly useful smart features. From Scalp Protect Mode to attachment recognition, it feels like a more intelligent hair dryer that actively works with you as you style. Whilst some of its settings are a little over-sensitive, its overall performance, build quality and results are hard to fault. It’s undeniably expensive, but if you want a premium hair dryer that prioritises both styling and hair health, the Nural is about as good as it gets right now.

Alternatives to consider

If you like the sound of Dyson’s technology but want more styling versatility, I’d highly recommend the Dyson Airwrap i.d. It achieved five stars in its full review and shares many of the same intelligent features, but with the added ability to curl and shape as well as dry.

Another strong alternative is the Shark FlexStyle, which delivers a similarly fast-drying experience with a focus on airflow rather than extreme heat. It doesn’t quite match Dyson’s precision heat control or scalp-focused smart features, but for everyday styling, it's a very close contender.

It’s that time of year again when we start seeing a wave of best electric toothbrush launches, and one of the latest comes from a brand we only discovered recently – but already absolutely love. We tried the Quip Ultra last year and gave it four stars, so when a Lite version launched just a few months ago, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on it.

Before we get into it, it’s worth noting that Quip is a US brand, so those of us in the UK and Europe can’t access its products quite as easily. That said, there are international shipping options available, so it’s not completely out of reach if you’re keen to try it.

Below, you’ll find my full thoughts, and why this 'Lite' version might actually be the better choice for most people.

Price and availability

The Quip Ultra Lite has an RRP of $65 (around £48), although there’s also a refill plan that drops the upfront cost to $60. This includes a subscription for EasyClick Brush Pod refills every three months for $8 – which is the same price you’d pay for the refills anyway.

The toothbrush comes in four colours – Ash, Iris, Air and Meadow – and is available via Quip’s online store and Amazon. International shipping starts from around $15 (£11), which isn’t too bad all things considered.

Design and features

The Ultra Lite is a sonic electric toothbrush, making it a great option for anyone upgrading from manual brushing who still wants a powerful clean. Unlike its predecessor, which offered up to 10 modes, the Ultra Lite leans into simplicity with just three – Gentle, Daily and Deep Clean.

You still get all the essentials too, including a pressure sensor that gently buzzes if you’re brushing too hard, a two-minute timer with 30-second pulses, and an auto shut-off.

Battery life provides up to 30 days on a single charge, which makes it ideal for both everyday use and travel. Speaking of which, it also comes with a travel case, stand and mirror mount, as well as the charger. The case is plastic and doesn’t feel as premium as the original Ultra’s, but it does the job well.

One of Quip’s standout features is its EasyClick Brush Pod system. Each pod is designed to last around three months and can be easily swapped out, reducing waste compared to replacing larger brush components. It uses a secure tri-lock design, so whilst it takes a second to get used to, it feels sturdy and well thought-out once in place.

Design wise, the Ultra Lite sticks to Quip’s signature minimalist aesthetic. It has a soft silicone finish that feels great in the hand and can be fully washed without any issues. It’s also noticeably lightweight, and the handle design has been slightly tweaked, with a more rounded shape compared to the flatter oval design of the original Ultra.

Performance

The Quip Ultra Lite is absolutely fantastic, and I’ve loved using it throughout the entire testing period. By stripping things back, Quip has removed features that aren’t really essential, and focused on what actually matters day to day. At no point did I feel like I was missing Bluetooth connectivity or a wider range of modes, which I think says a lot.

After a few days of testing, I naturally settled into using the Daily Clean mode, which felt like the best balance for everyday use. Each time, my teeth felt properly clean without any effort, and the overall experience was consistent. The pressure sensor is very useful, and the two-minute timer with 30-second intervals helps keep things on track without being intrusive.

Everything worked reliably, even towards the end of the battery, which isn’t always a given with electric toothbrushes. The handle is also comfortable to hold, and the silicone finish feels premium compared to harder plastic designs.

Battery life is probably the most surprising part of the whole experience. Quip advertises up to 30 days, which is already decent, but in my testing it lasted closer to 50 days on a single charge. That makes a noticeable difference in terms of convenience – especially if you travel or just don’t want to think about charging another device. It’s easily one of the best battery performances I’ve seen from an electric toothbrush in a while.

Verdict

The Quip Ultra Lite is a brilliant electric toothbrush that focuses on what actually matters. By stripping back unnecessary features, it delivers a simple but effective cleaning experience with strong sonic performance, useful essentials like a pressure sensor and timer, and an impressively comfortable design. It also has an exceptional battery life and an budget-friendly price, making it a fantastic option for anyone who wants to upgrade from manual brushing without overcomplicating their routine.

Alternatives to consider

If you like the look of the Ultra Lite but think you’d benefit from more modes or smart connectivity, the standard Quip Ultra is still worth considering. It’s a bit pricier, but offers more advanced features whilst keeping the same sleek design.

For alternatives, the closest comparison I’ve come across is the SURI 2.0. It has a similar minimalist design and also includes thoughtful extras like a travel case and mirror mount.

It seems that Simba is showing no signs of slowing down as the mattress manufacturer has just announced its third product launch in the space of two months. This latest launch features two new mattress protectors that are designed to keep you cool throughout the night while also protecting your mattress from spills and tears.

Simba is expanding its portfolio this year with more sleep accessories, and with a large focus on cooling mattress technology. In March, Simba launched its new cooling mattress topper and in April, it debuted an Amazon-exclusive cooling mattress.

Now, Simba has announced its new TripleShield Mattress Protector, available in two different surface options. With prices starting at £49, the Simba mattress protectors are made from breathable, lightweight materials and work to keep your mattress clean, hygienic and protected – but it’s the cooling properties you should be most excited about.

First, we have the TripleShield TENCEL Cool Mattress Protector which Simba claims is its coolest, waterproof surface to date. Made from 100% TENCEL, this protector works to draw heat away from the body to regulate your temperature. The material also has a natural cool-to-the-touch feel so if you overheat in the night, this is the option for you.

The second protector in the range is the TripleShield Bamboo Mattress Protector which – as you can probably guess – is made from bamboo fibres. This material gives the protector a comfortable, silky feel, and bamboo is naturally moisture-wicking so it’s also great at keeping you cool at night.

Both mattress protectors feature Simba’s TripleShield technology which is a barrier system within the construction that protects against spills, dust, moisture and everyday wear and tear. It blocks spills and liquids at the surface of the protector but still allows air to circulate through it to keep you cool.

Despite the lightweight feel and look, the new Simba mattress protectors are waterproof and the barrier of it is extremely discreet. The protectors don’t add weight to your mattress and once on, it fits securely on mattresses with a depth of up to 40cm.

Both mattress protectors are available in UK and EU sizes, and range from single to super king. Prices start at £49 for the bamboo option and £59 for the TENCEL, and are available to buy now at Simba.

Feel the heat when you sleep? Simba has come up with a mattress solution that’s cooling, affordable and exclusively available on Amazon. The new Simba Simbatex Cool Mattress is made of graphite-infused foam that keeps you cool and supported throughout the night – and prices start at just £349!

If you tend to sweat and overheat during the night, a cooling mattress could be the answer to your problems. The way mattresses do this is by increasing the airflow in its materials which makes it more breathable and less likely to trap heat within the construction.

This is exactly what Simba has done with its Simbatex Cool Mattress, an all-foam mattress which you can only buy on Amazon – that’s right, not even Simba’s own website has this new model. With a medium level of firmness, the Simba Simbatex Cool Mattress is 23cm deep which works to support and cradle your body.

We’re seeing more and more cheap and cheerful brands enter the mattress market these days, offering everything from the best bed-in-a-box mattresses to mattress toppers designed to upgrade the comfort of your existing bed. However, mattresses from IKEA often get overlooked, with many shoppers heading straight for its smart home gadgets – or the meatballs, in my case.

That said, IKEA mattresses shouldn’t be ignored, and there are actually plenty of reasons to consider them beyond their affordable price tags. The Swedish retailer offers a surprisingly large selection, covering a wide range of firmness levels, heights and materials, so there’s a good chance you’ll find something that suits your sleep style.

Below, I’ve broken down the different mattress types IKEA sells, along with which ones are most worth your time and money.

What kinds of mattresses does IKEA sell?

When it comes to mattress construction, most IKEA models fall into three main categories – pocket sprung, sprung (open coil) and foam.

There are a few variations too – including the occasional hybrid – but these three make up the core of the range. Within each category, you’ll also find multiple collections offering different firmness levels and features.

Do IKEA mattresses fit standard sized beds?

One thing to be aware of is sizing. IKEA mattresses used to follow European bed sizes, which sometimes caused confusion for UK shoppers who discovered their new mattress didn’t quite fit a standard UK bed frame. Thankfully, IKEA now sells both standard UK sizes and European sizes, so if you’re in the UK it’s best to stick with the standard sizing to avoid any issues.

Which is the best IKEA mattress?

From what we’ve seen, IKEA’s pocket sprung mattresses appear to be the most popular and highly rated across the entire collection. This includes the Valevåg, Vesteröy, Vågstranda and Vatneström models.

In fact, the The Guardian awarded the Valevåg mattress an impressive four stars last year, calling it “unarguably a brilliant buy.” Pocket sprung mattresses are generally a great choice because each spring sits inside its own fabric pocket. This helps the mattress contour more closely to your body whilst preventing the “roll-together” effect, where sleepers drift toward the middle of the bed.

Compared to traditional open-coil designs, pocket springs usually offer better support and improved durability. They’re also often a safer middle ground for shoppers who find foam mattresses a bit too firm or too warm.

Whilst we haven’t reviewed any IKEA mattresses ourselves just yet, they’re definitely on our radar. With their combination of strong value and surprisingly good quality, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see one earn a place on our list of the best mattresses in the future.

A recent sleep study conducted by Dreams has found the surprising reason why you’re being kept awake every night – and it’s not overheating.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – sleep is one of the most important things to prioritise if you want to take better care of yourself. It’s vital for your physical and mental health, and determines your mood, productivity, appetite and much more.

Sadly, sleep tends to be the biggest thing that people sacrifice or put off when they’re busy or stressed. But why? To find out more, Dreams’ team of experts, including Siobhan King, Chief Marketing Officer at Dreams, and Sammy Margo, Dreams’ resident Sleep Expert, recently conducted its annual sleep survey and the results were surprising.

The survey looked at 2,000 UK adults and their sleeping habits, and found that on average, Brits spend 7.2 hours in bed each night and get about 6.4 hours of actual sleep. While this is smaller than the recommended eight hours, this is over 20 minutes more sleep than the average reported in 2024.

In terms of restfulness, the results were quite disheartening, as only 5% reported feeling refreshed after waking up from a night’s sleep. 27% said they felt refreshed often but that left 24% of people saying they rarely felt refreshed while 6% said they never experienced that feeling.

A positive take away from the Dreams sleep study is that people’s sleep hygiene is improving. 35% said they read before bed to help them wind down which beat social media scrolling which fell to 29%.

But the thing I found most intriguing was the reason why many people are kept awake at night. In 2024, overheating was the main culprit but now, it’s racing thoughts. The study found that 37% of people lie awake from racing thoughts, 28% said it was because of stress, while feeling too hot dropped from 37% in 2024 to 24%.

As a sleep expert and chronic worrier, I’ve listed three ways to stop your racing thoughts so you can get a better night’s sleep.

How to stop racing thoughts

1. Take time to unwind before bed

Having a reliable nighttime routine can do wonders for your racing thoughts. Instead of working late into the night or dwelling on tomorrow, take time to give yourself some personal care and attention. This can include watching your favourite TV show, reading a book, taking a bath, making a nourishing meal and enjoying time with your partner.

2. Try the 4-7-8 breathing method

As someone who deals with anxiety, I use the 4-7-8 method whenever I’m feeling stressed and it does wonders for my stress levels, especially if I’m finding it hard to sleep. To try 4-7-8 breathing, it involves inhaling for four, holding for seven and exhaling for eight. For a full tutorial and why it’s beneficial, check out our guide to the 4-7-8 method.

3. Journal

Sometimes, it can help to get all your racing thoughts out of your head and down on paper. That’s where journaling comes in. It can feel very therapeutic to write down your worries and stress rather than letting it dwell and fester in your head.

Last year, Italian purveyors of luxurious scent, Acqua di Parma, unveiled Buongiorno. Since I first tested it, the scent has become a staple of my men's fragrance rotation, with a profile which is perfect for spring and summer, retaining the brand's classic DNA while managing to feel new.

Now, it has unveiled a new collection of scents inspired by the original. Acqua di Parma Buongiorno La Collezione consists of five different interpretations of the fragrance.

Each of the five is conceived as a skin scent, meaning we should be expecting massive silage. Still, at Eau de Parfum strength, they should have a bit of a kick – the original was perfect in that regard, and I'm expecting more of the same here.

Of the five, Buongiorno Al Bacio sounds the most familiar, with a distinctly citrussy profile which is very on brand. Expect top notes of bergamot, rosemary and petitgrain giving way to orange blossom and neroli, with a woody base.

Buongiorno Amore Mio takes on a more floral personality, with ambroxan, hedione and cotton flower. And Buongiorno Dolce Far Niente takes the brand's citrussy signature and leans it towards a traditional green scent.

Buongiorno Gioco del Destino does something similar, but with musky notes, but my pick of the bunch is Buongiorno Buonanotte. That packs in woods across the board, with pink pepper and bergamot on top and just a sliver of musk.

That one sounds like a treat, though all of them should make for nice additions to the collection of anyone who loved the original bottle. Priced at £257 (approx. €295 / US$340 / AU$495) for a 100ml bottle, these are a little more pricey than the original. There's also a gift set available with a 10ml vial of each of the five, which is perfect for experimenting with all of the new scents.

March has been full of exciting men’s fragrances and colognes launches, and I’m here to give you a monthly round-up of my favourite releases from the third month of 2026.

A key trend I noticed from this month’s fragrance launches was unisex scents. This month more than any other, there’s been tons of unisex and genderless scents to cater to men, women and anyone in between – in fact, most of this list is unisex fragrances.

As March 20th is the first day of spring, this month’s launches have also been focused on springtime scents. Think lots of florals and fruits, and bright, fresh notes that capture the lighter season.

To help you stay up-to-date with the latest fragrance trends, I’ve rounded up the nine best men’s fragrances launched in March 2026, featuring new colognes and aftershaves from Tom Ford, Creed, Maison Margiela and more.

As T3’s Home Editor, I’ve covered style for years now, including hair removal and grooming devices. But I’m relatively new to the world of IPL machines which is why I was excited – albeit a little apprehensive – to try the Sensica Sensilight Mini.

For those unfamiliar with IPL hair removal machines, IPL stands for ‘intense pulse light’ and its different wavelengths of light target the hair’s pigment. As the light reaches the pigment, it heats in order to kill growing hair cells and follicles to reduce hair growth and thickness.

The Sensica Sensilight Mini advertises itself as an FDA-cleared reactive pulsed light device that offers permanent body and facial hair reduction. I spent a couple of months testing it to see if it was as effective as it promised, and I was pleasantly surprised – here’s how I got on.

The Sensica Sensilight Mini is priced at £239 / $229 and is available to buy at Sensica and select retailers, like Amazon. It comes in one colour and has a 12 month warranty.

Sensica Sensilight Mini review: set up

As a corded device, the Sensilight Mini doesn’t require any charging. The only main thing to do when setting up the Sensilight Mini is a preliminary test to ensure the device is safe for your skin.

IPL devices are safe to use for most skin types, but it’s said to work best for lighter skin tones – see this compatibility skin tone chart for more information. As someone who has a light skin tone with light-to-medium hair, I rated high in the compatibility chart but still wanted to test it to make sure it would be safe for my skin.

I tested the Sensilight Mini on my thigh as this area of my body doesn’t get as much hair. I went over a small area for a few zaps and left it for 48 hours before properly testing the device. I didn’t have any negative reaction so I was good to go.

Sensica Sensilight Mini review: design and features

Compared to other hair removal devices, the Sensica Sensilight Mini immediately attracted me as it’s small and fits comfortably in the hand – a marked change from the overly large alien-looking IPLs I’ve seen on the market. It looks more like an epilator than an IPL, and is best described as a corded, travel-friendly IPL device as you can take it with you to use on the go – although the plug and cord will have to come too!

The Sensilight Mini has a button on the back which allows you to customise the strength of the hair removal. Six intensity levels are available, and once you’ve picked the strength, you touch the Sensilight Mini to your skin and press the button at the top of the device.

A green light is shown at the front and top of the Sensilight Mini and it zaps in a bright white colour. When it’s ready to go again, the top LED light will go green which takes a couple of seconds. It doesn’t make a lot of noise but you can hear a gentle whirring.

The Sensilight Mini has a built-in skin tone tensor which activates flashes when the device is in full contact with suitable skin. It also automatically adjusts its power to suit skin and will disable flashes if it detects damaged skin.

The Sensilight Mini is designed to be used on legs, underarms, bikini line and even the face. It reduces hair growth over time, and is quick and gentle, although it does get hot.

Sensica Sensilight Mini review: performance

Once my preliminary test was out the way, I prepped my skin by shaving the areas I wanted to use the Sensilight Mini on a day before. On the day, I showered and dried my skin, leaving it free of any moisturiser or sprays.

I plugged in the Sensilight Mini and selected the lowest intensity level before pressing it against my armpits, up and down my legs, and around my bikini line. After my first session, I used the Sensilight Mini on the same areas two weeks later – as it recommends in the instructions manual – before using it once a week.

I found the process of using the Sensilight Mini very easy. The controls are simple and while I thought the device was a little chunky for my hands at times – I sometimes felt like I needed to use two hands to hold it and press the button – I found it easy enough to maneuver. It also got into awkward spots and crevices without any issue which I found impressive.

The light and zaps of the Sensilight Mini were insanely bright, and I felt like I needed to be wearing goggles to use it. I didn’t find the Sensilight Mini to be painful when in use but it does feel hot on the skin. It didn’t feel like it burnt but the device itself did get hot in places and took a while to cool down.

From the first initial test, I noticed my hair regrowth was extremely minimal straight away. This might be too much information – but hey, it’s best to be transparent! – but as a blonde, I don’t tend to grow thick or dark hair, although I do have to shave my underarms 1-2 times a week. I haven’t experienced that since using the Sensilight Mini and can now get by with having a quick shaving touch-up before my next IPL session.

I found the Sensilight Mini to work best on my legs and bikini area. I noticed very minimal regrowth in these areas which I appreciated. The Sensilight Mini was also easy to fit into my weekly routine and it made me feel more confident about managing my body hair.

Sensica Sensilight Mini review: verdict

The Sensilight Mini by Sensica is a compact, powerful IPL hair removal device that works best for leg hair and intimate areas. Despite its slightly chunky design, the Sensilight Mini is easy to hold, use and maneuver into even the trickiest of areas. I found my regrowth results to be extremely impressive and it’s become my go-to way to manage body hair.

Some people might prefer a cordless model which the Sensilight Mini is not, but the cable is long enough that you can easily plug it in wherever and whenever you want. The main issue I had was how bright the light was as it was extremely intense and left marks behind my eyes. But overall, the results of the Sensilight Mini were hard to beat.

Sensica Sensilight Mini review: alternatives to consider

The Braun Skin i-Expert Pro 7 has a similar design to the Sensilight Mini, although it is a lot more expensive. It holds the number one spot in our IPL guide as it offers fast and effective results, and smart features, like app guides.
