One year since Sony launched the PlayStation 5 and the market is still struggling to keep up with demand for the console. Whether that be scalpers at every turn, automated bots trying to swipe everything within seconds, or just the millions of other shoppers trying to get their hands on the games device – it's a minefield out there.

Fear not! We've scoured the web far and wide to save you the hassle. While the surge in sales for the PS5 is expected to continue well into 2022, we've compiled a list of the top retailers to find the elusive console from as well as some handy tips to be aware of to help get you to the checkout – and more importantly, receive that sweet, sweet confirmation message. The great news is that it's set to become much easier to secure a console, with Sony set to bring in "phenomenal" amounts of PS5 stock just in time for Christmas. Huzzah!

T3's PS5 stock tracker is regularly updated but there's also a few extra steps worth considering. We'd recommend bookmarking a number of stock trackers across social media (especially Twitter), checking in at any local retailers in case some have stock unexpectedly without warning, alongside making an account across said retailers online accounts to save time on checkout. It can help to keep the console in your wishlist basket too. Now onto the important bit: where to find a PS5.

Where to buy PS5 in the UK

ShopTo
If previous drops are any indication, ShopTo should have a new PS5 restock on November 28th. It last went live on November 7th, again another weekend drop. Queues exceeded 14,000 people, according to comments online, however, many still came out successful.

GAME
GAME's has updated its PS5 release date to December 9th, indicating a restock date of November 30th (via PS5 Stock UK). As it's Black Friday, however, we're expecting a drop from GAME this morning – a big one too!

PlayStation Direct
Sony's latest PS5 stock drop took place on the morning of November 25th, selling out in around 25 minutes. The system works on random selection, rather than a first-come, first-serve basis. An exclusive invitation queue went live two hours prior.

EE Store
EE put live a variety of PS5 bundles on November 23rd, including ones with additional DualSense controllers. It lasted a good portion of the day. You must be an EE account holder to access the page, make the purchase and add it to your plan.

Studio
Online shopping store Studio went live with PS5 stock for the first time in over a month on November 23rd. The morning drop was made up of disc, digital and bundles. It sold out in over an hour with bundles last to go.

BT Store
BT last put live its latest supply of PS5 stock on November 22nd. It lasted most of the day, a rare thing these days. Users were required to sign in to their account to claim a customer code before being taken through to an online queue to purchase.

BOX
Online tech store BOX had a rare PS5 restock on November 19th. It consisted of disc and digital consoles only. This was the first in months but potentially a good sign for Black Friday and the holidays.

Argos
Argos last had a PS5 restock on November 18th, made up of both disc and digital consoles. This was the largest drop from Argos since launch, hopefully, a good sign going into Black Friday.

John Lewis
A shipment of John Lewis PS5 stock was expected to arrive at the retailer sometime between November 25th to 26th, however, this has now been internally delayed. The last restock took place on October 19th, so another must be soon.

Currys
Currys PC World sent out numerous codes as part of its latest PS5 console VIP programme, with consumers invited to pick one up before November 20th at the latest. Another batch should be sent out soon.

Amazon UK
Amazon's latest PS5 stock drop took place on November 17th, three weeks after its previous restock. There was a 20-minute period before everything sold out, be that disc or digital consoles. With Black Friday week imminent, more is expected.

Littlewoods
Littlewoods has become the latest retailer to start selling PS5 consoles. It last went live on November 10th, offering disc consoles and bundles. Not the cheapest but worth considering.

Very
Very went live with PS5 stock on November 9th/10th, with disc consoles and various bundles. This was the first restock in about a month but we're hoping it will become more regular as we go into Black Friday and the holidays.

AO.com
AO.com went live with PS5 disc, digital and bundles around midday on November 9th. It was a messy situation with many finding errors, though a number did come out successful.

ASDA
ASDA went live with PS5 stock early on November 9th. It sold out ridiculously quick, with supposedly only 900 disc consoles up for sale. Users needed to wishlist the item, move it to their basket and then finally proceed to checkout.

Smyths Toys
Smyths had stock in-store for both the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition on October 29th. These were pre-order only with a £20 deposit required to secure one and a delivery date of between November 15th to 20th.
