Coming in at just over three pounds and measuring less than an inch thin, the Samsung Series 5 Chrome book 2012 is thinner but weights the same as the original.
It sports a 12.-1 inch screen, the same size as its predecessor, two USB ports, SD card reader and an HD camera.
So far, so samey but it's innards are where the real refresh happens. The 2012 model comes with a new dual-core processor, the RAM's been doubled from 2GB to 4GB and there's a brand spanking new multitouch trackpad.
Google's own Chrome OS has had some tweaks too as it now supports app launcher, a file manager and a more desktop-y feel. Essential as this is all the new Chromebook will work on. No wifi no workie is the mantra with this laptop, unless of course you opt for the 3D version and that is going to cost you.
The Chromebook 12.1-inch screen with 3G comes in at $549.99 and the wifi only at $449.99.
We're working to fix the problem right now and will have it working as soon as possible
