Having initially wowed everyone with its ease of use the Parrot AR Drone is back and this time it's leaner and faster as the AR Drone 2. Controlled over WiFi this robotic wunderkid can be navigated using tablet or smartphone and either iOS or Android. Boasting a completely new body this quadricopter has had a whole host of new features added including a 720p front-facing navigational camera which now not only serves to aid the pilot but can also record HD footage. Along with the software upgrades Parrot have also thrown in new sensors including a downwards facing camera which determines the speed of the drone. And, to ensure faultless flying, the Drone 2.0 is equipped with a 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis magnetometer and finally 2 ultrasound sensors which help determine altitude up to 6m. No word on UK pricing yet but rumour has it the Drone 2.0 will be available in Q2 of 2012 so not long to wait before you can start filming your own stunts.
