Honda Civiv Hybrid
Replace smog with smug by buying this eco-friendly hybrid banger
Yes it is a Civic. And yes, it is a hybrid. That means you get a petrol and electric motor.
Both are used to accelerate, but when cruising at speed, only the petrol motor is used, and when lumbering about in town, the electric motor takes over.
Kinetic energy from braking is stored in the batteries for the electric motor. That all sounds good, but hybrids haven't proved as popular as many had hoped, and driving this 1.4-litre Honda is a disappointingly jerky experience, although it is undeniably economical.
