Jabra Freespeak 250

A cool new look and twice the juice

Still the weirdest looking of the Bluetooth headsets, you could be forgiven for thinking that not much has changed with Jabra's latest Freespeak. It still has that Star Trek vibe (less Lieutenant Uhura, more Borg-like extrusion behind the ear), but several improvements have been made. The colour is slightly more subdued than its predecessor, with a slick black-and-silver livery and clear ear gel, rather than yesterday's grey body and "look at me" blue gel. It also comes with a new mini gel for those of us with small ears. The main gain is in battery life, which is now doubled to eight hours' talk time. There's no Bluetooth adaptor, but this headset's every bit as comfortable and easy to use as before - the improved battery life is worth the extra £30.

Looks good, lasts a long time - if only the ladies were talking about you and not the headset
