Nokia 3100
Anyone for a glow-in-the-dark mobile?
Nokia is known for churning out dozens of variations on the same phone and this one borrows from right across the range. It has the rubber keypad of the 5100, the frame of the budget 2100, the flashing lights of the 3510 and the menu and screen of the fashionable 7250, plus one new element - a useful glow-in-the-dark fascia.
It's a winning formula, lacking only an FM radio or built-in camera - both available as add-ons, although photo messages will soon swallow up the inadequate on-board memory.
Java gamers are treated to three games, including Beach Rally, plus optional Xpress-on gaming covers. Polyphonics, tri-band, a speakerphone and decent 4,096-colour screen complete an attractive package. Just watch out for marks on those light-up rubber keys - they'll soon show.
