BT Diverse 5410

Just holler - it's a voice-dialling home phone.

It may be the size of a home phone, but this BT digital cordless number is packed with the power of a mobile one. Aside from the usual SMS and address book, it can also set appointment reminders, wake you from a slumber with an alarm clock and allow you to dial your girlfriend simply by uttering her name. This last feature, voice-dialling, has room for 29 entries and works well, meaning you won't accidentally dial your boss instead of your other half. There are some fairly passable muzak ringtones too, and there's a decent but unspectacular speakerphone mode. Design-wise, we can safely say this phone won't be gracing any glass award cabinets soon - the silver livery is ho-hum and the buttons are distinct to press but fairly stiff. Call quality is very good.

It won't have your B&O-loving friends in raptures, but voice-dialling helps to lift this phone a touch above the pack
