Squeezebox V3 Media streamer

Sleek and wonderfully understated, the Squeezebox makes music look and sound great.

Slim Devices products used to look like they were made by Christopher Lloyd in his Back to the Future guise, but this slick unit has changed all that.

Set up is tricky as it asks technical questions about your Wi-Fi network, but once it's got going, you'll instantly warm to the excellent audio. It does justice to spikey tracks such as the Sex Pistols' Bodies, but has enough refinement to handle the dry tones of Nina Simone.

The best thing about this streamer, though, is the screen. It's large and bright enough to read across a mid-sized room, making it a cinch to navigate your music library. Headphones, stereo and optical digital are among the audio outputs.

So why doesn't it get five stars? For £80 less, you get the Evesham M-Bridge. There's just not enough here to justify the extra cost.
