Nokia, N95 8GB

Festooned with features and has plenty of gigabytes to spare.

It's always been a proper, grown up's mobile with more whistles and bells than a gang of town criers at an early 90's rave, but the revamped N95 now crams in even more features than before, and looks yet more sophisticated.

Its not just because the erstwhile silver surfer is now available in black, though this simple aesthetic tweak instantly renders Nokia's uber-phone much less plasticky than before.

With a slightly larger screen at 2.8 inches and the annoying lens cover that blighted the original has been banished from the kingdom, it's not just a new lick of paint that's got us drooling.

Inside there now lurks 8GB of storage, along with the old five meg camera, improved satnav, HSDPA and WiFi. Its still a bit on the porky side and the microSD slot has gone mysteriously AWOL, but sound quality seems to have got better, while a proper headphone socket means you can opt for your own hearing aids.
