Nokia 6500 Slide
Great snapper with more features to boot
The wheels of camera phones are in motion and it seems that everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon. Nokia's new 6500 Slide might bring a 3.2 megapixel camera to the table but does it have enough to play with the big boys?
The camera's poker face of a 3.2 pixel peeper and an 8x optical zoom makes the phone a serious contender. The pictures taken with the Carl Zeiss lens are detailed and very good. Also with the double LED flash you can catch a bejewelled badger at night in some detail.
Also packed into this slim slider is the Adobe Photoshop software making editing and adapting pictures easy. Allowing you to do a touch of your own airbrushing, everyone will believe that you really did look that good in that Borat swimsuit in Bora Bora.
Saving your pictures is also a snitch thanks to the 20MB of internal memory and expandable memory capacity has also been slung in.
This aint a one trick pony though. The multimedia player on the phone is ear bashingly good and with the expanse of memory space on the phone you've got plenty of space to save all your musical needs for instant access.
Aside from the delights of the 6500, alas there are some flaws, mainly the irritatingly minuscule micro USB charger. As we mentioned with the N6500 Classic review, chargers are heading no one else has one right now, which of course is slightly annoying. We like to share the love when it comes to juicing up our cell.
In short the Nokia 6500 is a slider packed with sumptuous features that other phones on the market don't offer in such a scrumptious parcel. Slipping and sliding onto the market, although lacking somewhat in the pixel department this little beauty more than makes up for it in other areas.
