Stylish little player

This 2GB player, with its black fascia and silver trim, is devilishly stylish. It just looks and feels upmarket.

This player also has a pair of headphones that you aren't likely to bin the moment you get home. They sound stunning. OK, there's not quite the volume required to block out the din of a noisy commute, although looked at another way, there's not enough volume to leave you stone-deaf, either.

The controls on the front are also svelte, gentlemanly and discreet. They only flicker into life, Chocolate Phone-like, when needed. They're intuitive and make navigation easy, which is lucky because the 1.7-inch screen is a little small.

So: great looks, superb sound - even from the supplied 'phones - and 14 hours of battery life all make us warm to this. The small screen and lack of volume dim our lust, but only slightly.
