LG FM37

Shine like MP3 player

Pair this reflective-faced player with the Shine phone and you can create a hall of mirrors for mice, which is to be applauded. It's not just a looker, though - it handles music, video and photos too.

The mirrored, 2.4-inch screen is easier to keep paw-print free than Samsung's K3. It's bright and clear even if, like a vampire, it suffers in direct sunlight.

Apart from a solitary 'real' button for recording, the FM37 is a touch-only tool. The screen can be exasperating to use, with smaller icons needing an accurate touch. If you're cursed with sausage fingers, bad luck.

Key commands can be accessed with a bit of digit aerobics - just spin your finger around the screen to adjust the volume, drag it left and right to skip tracks or jab it to pause tracks.

UPnP support makes transferring music easy, which is handy, because LG's Media Centre is rubbish. Audio playback, at 20 hours, is just shy of the Nano and, if it wasn't for the meagre three hours of video playback and the regularly-infuriating touchscreen, this would be a great device.
