BenQ Joybee 110
Teardrops keep falling on our heads
BenQ is probably best known in the UK for producing cheap PC monitors, but it sells everything from mobile phones to notebooks in its native Taiwan. Having so much design experience, it's not surprising that the company's managed to make the 128MB Joybee look so alluring. The upside-down teardrop styling and eye-catching colour scheme - it's available in green, orange or blue - give it a unique and attractive look.
However, it's not exactly bursting with features. It can play WMA files as well as MP3s, and it can also act as a voice recorder, but there's no FM tuner or on-board MP3 encoder. Combined with the low storage capacity, these omissions don't exactly make the 110 good value for money. The menu system's also a bit cryptic, but what's worse is that the device introduces an annoying "flutter" noise before playing every tune.
