Beatman Flash 128MB
Golden oldie gets a radio and recording deal
We liked the Beatman Flash 64MB (T3 83, 5/5) because it was small and cute and had swappable covers. This version dumps those covers, but adds another 64MB, an FM radio and the ability to record from pretty much any source, including the built-in tuner and on-board mic. The encoding quality is surprisingly good considering the size of this device, but it's still not on a par with ripping files using a PC. The reception from the radio is decent, as is the overall clarity from playback of either MP3s or WMAs. However, the small screen can make navigation tricky, especially with the range of features on offer, and there's no way to expand the memory.
