Zune UK launch delayed

Microsoft says its player won't be coming to the UK any time Zune.

We've known all the Zune's secrets for months, but unbelievably, us unlucky Brits will have to wait at least another 12 months before we can get our hands on it.

That's according to Microsoft's media and entertainment alliance manager, Dene Schonknecht.

The Microsoft bigwig says the earliest we'll see the Zune on our shores is "towards the end of 2007. However, it could easily be 2008."

Staggering, we know, and given that we're expecting Apple's groundbreaking widescreen, touchscreen, all-singing, all-dancing super-Pod early next year, or maybe even sooner, it-begs the question: What's Microsoft playing at?
