While Microsoft certainly hasn't suffered as much as say Sony has with its PSN crisis, Xbox certainly hasn't been immune from a fair few bugs and flaws
Microsoft has confirmed that there is indeed a problem with Xbox Live at the moment which is causing gamers to be locked out of their profiles and games with the '80070571' error message.
Earlier this week gamers started to report of a problem with Xbox Live which meant they couldn't download their profiles and were entirely locked out of both their games and purchased content on their Xbox 360's.
Since then Microsoft have responded saying that there is a problem which is causing some Xbox profiles to not function correctly, speaking to Joystiq they made it clear that there will be a fix soon.
"We have recently identified an Xbox Live profile data error that results in Error Code '801540B7' for a small number of Xbox Live members. The error instructs users to attempt to re-download their Xbox Live profile and directs them to customer service support for further assistance,"
"We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused to our loyal Xbox Live members and are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible."
It has been noted that this problem only started to occur since the new Xbox Dashboard was implemented suggesting that Microsoft is still having to iron out a few kinks with the new-look UI for the Xbox 360.
