Official: Xbox prices dropped
Arcade is now cheaper than the Wii, with the Elite now forty quid cheaper than the PS3.
After plenty of web talk, Microsoft has confirmed they're slashing the price of every version of the Xbox 360.
The move now means the already cheap as chips Arcade edition is the most affordable hub on the market, at a mere £159. That's twenty big ones cheaper than a Wii!
The 20GB version also gets a cut, clocking in at a penny shy of £200, with the mighty Elite coming down in price to £259. That's a drop of forty quid.
The move is without doubt meant to send a message to Sony that the increasingly popular PS3 is still too pricey for most punters.
With over a thousand titles expected on the Xbox by the rear end of the year, including newbies Gears of War 2 and GTA IV, the 360 is clearly still a console that matters.
We reckon this will squeeze at least another year of life out of the hub which has always been the hardcore gamers' choice. All we need now is a BluRay external drive to make the package complete.
Now it's over to Ninty and Sony. Make our wallets happy guys.
