World's first Blu-ray Media Centre
AMEX Digital takes the wraps off a trailblazing next-gen home entertainment hub.
Hong Kong-based PC purveyor AMEX Digital has unveiled the world's first Blu-ray Media Centre.
The MPC-505 is an Intel Viiv-powered, Windows Media Centre 2005-equipped living room PC focussed on recording television shows from digital and analogue tuners, playing music and displaying photos - all of which can be stored in huge quantities on its 1TB (that's 1,000GB) hard drive.
It can also play back Blu-ray discs, outputting Hi-Def video via DVI or HDMI. Of course, there aren't any movies available on the next-gen disc format just yet, but the PC will also be able to record content on to 25GB capacity blank Blu-ray discs.
AMEX has yet to confirm pricing and release date details, but you can click here to view more specs.
