Can Microsoft's revamped operating system take on Android and iPhone?
It’s been a long wait, but today is the day that Microsoft’s brand new mobile platform, Windows Phone 7, gets its grand unveiling at a range of events across the globe.
Of course, T3 and the rest of the the tech journalist world has already had a hands on with the new OS, meaning there shouldn’t be too many surprises there, but it does mean that handset manufacturers will have free reign to unveil their Windows Phone wares.
The event kicks off at 2pm today, and will mark the launch of a mobile platform looking not only to dust off the murky reputation of previous Windows Mobile efforts, but also vie for a piece of Android, iPhone and Nokia’s crown. Microsoft has already announced that it’ll have 2000 apps for its Marketplace at launch.
