Mobile network provider O2 has jumped the gun on this afternoon’s Windows Phone 7 conference, launching its ‘coming soon’ page for the Microsoft mobile operating system ahead of the systems global launch.
O2’s description of the new operating system from Microsoft pegs the OS as: “Windows Phone 7 is designed to bring together all the things you care about most. Windows Phone 7 organizes content in information hubs, which you can access quicker and easier with a single touch.”
Earlier today LG broke Microsoft’s embargo to officially unveil the first Windows Phone 7 handset in the LG Optimus 7, a 3.8-inch capacitive touchscreen bragging, 5-megapixel camera hosting device set to feature exclusive Scansearch and Voice-to-text services.
Key Windows Phone 7 features outlined by O2 on the network’s official website proclaim the new silky-smooth and highly intuitive OS will allow users to: “Quickly see everything you care about by personalizing your Start screen with live tiles” whilst offering: “Gaming on-the-go with Xbox LIVE” and allowing users to: “Manage both work and personal email and calendars with ease”.
