HTML5 and Silverlight support readied by Microsoft.
There’s plenty of natter about two Windows Phone 7 software updates landing early in 2011, serving up cut and paste skills and fixing bugs. But now word has emerged of a new, bigger upgrade, arriving next August.
Dubbed ‘Mango’, it’s been uncovered by well-known Microsoft watcher Mary-Jo Foley. She says insiders have told her that it’ll bring Silverlight support, Far Eastern language smarts and HTML5. Essentially, she says, this will be Windows Phone 7.5.
Microsoft has kept schtum about its plans beyond the earlier upgrades due at the start of next year and would not give Foley any more details.
