New Windows interface to be inspired by Office?

The first images from the preview build of Windows 8 have emerged which point to a ribbon user interface for the next instalment of the OS.

Swapping a drop-down menu system for the more screen-dominating UI style previously used with Microsoft Office, it has previously divided opinion amongst the Microsoft fan masses.

These latest snaps follow closely on from leaked images of the Windows 8 login screen and Windows 8 taskbar spotted in the past few weeks.

We should also take into consideration that this is a beta version of the new OS, so there is still every chance it may get booted out before an official launch.
