Vodafone is set to slash the cost of using data across the channel, touting new streamlined packages that won’t end up giving you heart palpitations once your bill comes through at the end of the month.
Occasional visitors to the continent will be able to pay £2 a day to use their UK data deal in a foreign country. Vodafone has said that frequent users will be able to build roaming into their monthly data plan at a cheap rate. Business and regular punters will both be catered for.
All countries that have a Vodafone network are included, alongside France, Switzerland, Belgium and Austria.
The move is down to surging smartphone sales according to Vodafone CEO Vittorio Colao, who claims the smartphone surge will take the blowers to 70 per cent market share by 2013.
