Virgin Mobile offers the Nokia E63 smartphone

Pay-as-you-email

Released back in November 2008 as the little brother to the E71, the Nokia E63 is now available from Virgin Mobile without a lengthy contract deal.

Originally (and quite rightly) billed as a messaging device, the E63 comes with the option of unlimited 3G data access for 30p per day, which means you can social network to your heart's content, browse a few sites and keep tabs on your email without having to worry about the hole it's digging in your pocket. Just as long as you don't go too mad - that 'unlimited' actually (and rather confusingly) comes with a 25MB 'fair usage' limit per day. Oh well.

The handset itself isn't a bad little thing either, offering up that full QWERTY keyboard for easy emailing, simple email set-up (just add your email address and password), a 2.0-megapixel camera, music player, FM radio, Wi-Fi and a microSD card slot for bumping up the storage from the basic 110MB.

If you fancy an email-friendly smartphone, but don't fancy the long contract, the E63 is certainly worth a look. It retails for £149.99.
