Can this Blackberry-bating Windows Mobile smartphone be the next big hit for Sony Ericsson

We're all used to the Cybershot and Walkman series' reeking of awesome, now Sony Ericsson are venturing into pastures new with their first serious foray into the smartphone market.

We had a first look at the Xperia X1 at 3GSM in February, but things have been quiet recently with hints of delays for the QWERTY-rocking, touchscreen hero.

But we now have confirmation that it'll be available from November, and the kind folks at 3 mobile allowed us to have another grope of its sexy Windows-infused figure.

Slim and light with a neatly curved sliding keyboard and a modest 3.2mp camera, we think this could be a big hit. Perhaps even stealing a few quid from the overflowing pockets of Mr Jobs?
