Video: Panasonic's palm-sized SDR camcorder

Baby camcorder kits out the youtube generation. Check out the video.

With every man and his three dogs uploading their comical antics to youtube these days, it makes sense that video cameras are becoming as compact as their stills rivals.

So say Mr Panasonic, anyway, who is enabling this wondrous generation of shaky-cam legends with a mini cam that fits quite superbly into a jeans pocket (unless you're Russell Brand of course).

It has a pretty neat 10x Optical Zoom , capacity for a whopping 16GB SD memory card, which will shoot over 13 hours of footage in long play. It starts up in 0.6 seconds flat, meaning you'll be quicker on the draw than Clint Eastwood in fast-forward as your drunken pals topple towards the floor.

The camera shoots in DVD quality - MPEG2 - which can be transferred directly to a DVD by simply hooking the USB up to your burner.

The interface is unspectacular, lending itself to the compact design, but for a cam this size it's nothing to grumble about, especially as you can also shoot stills.

Check out our video report for more info and our hands-on verdict.

The RRP is £299 but we've seen it as low as £209 on the old net, and it's available now.
