Vertu Ascent Ti Neon: a luxury mobile for the ladies
Relive the early '90s with a dayglo mobile
There’s a new Vertu coming to town, and it’s aimed squarely at ladies who lunch.
Named the Vetru Ascent Ti Neon, it comes with rubber on the back instead of the leather of the regular Ascent Ti, in a choice of four colours: green, orange, white and pink. Switch it on and the on-screen menu matches the rubber on the back. Nice touch.
It’s slightly slimmer than the regular Ascent Ti, being less bulbous at the bottom to fit more snugly in a handbag. T3 had an exclusive hands-on this morning at the flagship store in Old Bond Street, and can confirm it’s what those in the know would call "a nice piece".
On the inside it’s the same spec as the regular Ascent Ti, and the recently announced carbon fibre model. So, that’s 3G and quadband, Bluetooth, 3.0-megapixel camera, 4GB memory, and backing up using Vertu Fortress (all your data is synced to a server housed in an underground bunker). Not phenomenal specs, but buying one of these for the specs is like getting a Ferrari for the air conditioning.
It’ll cost around £6,000 when it goes on sale in October.
