USB batteries power up!

Kiss flat batteries goodbye - the latest cells hook up to the nearest USB port and stay juiced up without the need for a charger!

This genius idea comes from Moixa, a new firm with some cracking products to rid us of battery blues.

Their first offering, the USBCell, replaces AA batteries with a handy USB-powered version, so there's no need to buy expensive single use cells ever again, or hunt for a charger when your reusables die.

The clever AAs even light up to show how much charge is held, and there are plans for a version which will chat with your PC, showing exactly how juiced up they are, or how to recycle them when you've squeezed out all the power you can.

On sale online, they'll be in stores before long too, costing £13 per pair. That's cheap, considering you'll never need a charger, and more power to Moixa for a clever idea we can really use!
