Updated PSP launched

First video: It's here at last and we've already got our oversized paws all over the size-zero handheld.

Finally. After months of denials and sketchy rumours, Sony has dropped the slimmed down version of the PSP. We got our hands on the Slim & Lite before anyone else, and gave it the T3 treatment. Check out our massive gallery and exclusive video down below.

Spec-wise, little has changed in the land of PSP. The screen's still the same lip-smacking, 4.3-inches and game play is a breeze, with controls just as before.

It has, however, gone on a rather serious binge diet. Gone is the chunky bod', thanks to some serious work on the innards. The UMD slot now comes minus a draw loading mechanism. This does mean that discs rattle about before you slap them in and power up. But it also means more space in your pocket when lugging it about.

There's no more infrared port, but you'll find a switch up top for WiFi, so you can flick it on and surf easy as you like (when you're near a hotspot that is).

As for what's going on inside that Moss-alike frame, well, there's plenty to get to grips with. As well as being able to pair up with your PS3 and play wherever you are on the planet, you'll also find a TV out. All you need to do is slap a component cable in and away you go.

It's certainly not a giant leap forward, but the new slimmed down body, for the same killer £130 price as before, is definitely worth a punt if you aren't PSPed up already.

Want the full skinny? You could check out the video below, but if that ain't good enough for you, let free your inner PSP-fanboy, and download our high-res version (43 MB)!
