Twitter and Ping integration unveiled

Apple's social network for music gets Twitter support

Tie-up comes after Facebook Connect support was pulled.

Apple’s Ping social network had a pretty swift start, with a million punters signing up in less than two days. But the iTunes-based effort’s failure to integrate with other social networks has caused plenty of consternation.

Now though, you can link your Twitter account to your Ping one, meaning that whenever you post about a song, review an album or simply like a track, it’ll show up in your Twitter feed.

What’s more, the tunes you tweet about will come with playable previews from iTunes. If you click on a song that’s been tweeted via Ping, it’ll show up in the details pane where you can listen to it and even hit a link to take you to iTunes so you can buy it.

The whole shebang can be seen in action in the official video below. Will this finally make you sign up for Ping? Tell us what you think on our Facebook and Twitter pages now.
