Sources are reporting that Tweetdeck, a UK-based desktop application for social networking, is on the verge of being acquired by California-based UberMedia.

Tweetdeck is most popularly used for managing Twitter and Facebook feeds.

While neither firm has confirmed the takeover, it's being reported that Tweetdeck was taken over for around $30 million (£19 million).

UberMedia has already acquired two other Twitter-based applications - UberTweet and Echofon.
