Toshiba launches Camileo P30 and H20 HD camcorders

Budget camera for after-dark movie making

Toshiba has introduced a pair of entry-level pocket cameras, the Camileo P30 and H20, both easy-to-use and both capable of 1080p high-definition shooting.

It's certainly easy to share your movies with either model, YouTube uploading and ArcSoft editing tools come as standard, with HDMI connectivity also on-board, should you wish to show off your three-minute HD masterpiece with a select few. Both models also feature a new 'Night Mode' feature too, which promises 'high-quality pictures in dark conditions'. Good news for peeping Toms and amateur horror movie makers then.

In term of specifics, the Camileo H20 (follow-up to the H10) offers HD shooting to SD card, throwing in 5x optical and 4x digital zoom, 3-inch TFT screen, video stabilisation, special effect options, remote control and the option to capture stills, all wrapped up in a 'barrel style' design.

The P30 offers much the same, only this time from an upright design and with a smaller (2.5-inch) screen. You can pick up the H20 for £179.99, with the P30 undercutting it slightly at £149.99. Both should be available from February.
