Toshiba’s Camileo camcorders have always been a byword for great video on a budget. And now the Japanese giant is rolling out a new pocket cam that it hopes will stem the tide of users moving to smartphones for their HD video hit.
The Camileo Clip can record in 1080p HD and has a 10x optical zoom when you drop the resolution down to HD Ready 720p. But it’s big feature is in the name: round the back there’s a clip, meaning you can attach it to yourself and film hands-free.
It’s a very neat trick and one which seems like a no brainer to us. The body is splash proof and ruggedised, making it perfect if you’re an extreme sports type who loves to film every jump, trick or fall as it happens.
There’s no on board storage, but that keeps size down, while SD cards up to 64GB are supported. The Camileo Clip is due to hit shelves in Q4, with final pricing to be confirmed.
