Tosh talks telly with new portable DVD

The first portable DVD to feature its own digital TV tuner is just around the corner.

In a move sure to excite the Neighbours addict kept from his daily fix by that annoying diversion called work, Toshiba has unveiled the SD-P30DT, the first portable DVD player to feature a digital tuner.

Offering access to all the usual Freeview channels, it has a 9-inch widescreen with 800 x 480 resolution and impressive (at least for a portable) 170 degree viewing angle. You can also hook it up to your big telly via component video.

The player launches in May. It's the top of the range Toshiba model, so expect to part with around £350 if you want to get your hands on one.
