TomTom app for iPhone 4 updated

App gets new features such as navigating to a photo

TomTom has made its iPhone 4 app even more useful through an array of new features

TomTom has released a new update to its Navigation app for iPhone 4 and iPod Touch which takes full advantage of the retina-display and G4 processors.

Probably its most prominant new feature is Navigate-to-photo which uses the geo-tagging on a photo so the TomTom can navigate you back to where the photo was taken. It's a technology thats been around for some time, but by integrating it into TomTom it becomes a neat way of getting back to a newly discovered pub, park or shop.

The rest of the update mainly consists of optimisations for the iPhone 4 and new iPod Touch, this means you'll see higher quality graphics, faster loading maps and and improved smoothness when using the app. Of course like all TomTom's it also comes with the usual array of features such as IQ Routes, HD Traffic and the rather useful Advanced Lane Guidance which makes sure you'll never make a wrong turning again.

At £42 it is definitely considered a bespoke app for iOS 4, however considering how much the bog standard TomTom unit costs, this still works out as a bargain, well if you have an iPhone that is.
