TMobile edges out o2 with BlackBerry Curve 8900
Telco wars break out over latest Blackberry offering
Executives at o2 are likely to have an uncomfortable weekend after rival T-Mobile gazumped their launch of the much-anticipated BlackBerry Curve 8900.
T-Mobile has not only released the BlackBerry Curve 8900 earlier, but also at a lower price point - free when you sign up to a £35 ($52/€39) monthly contract.
O2 had previously announced that the email-competent handset would be available in early January, at an unannounced price. Carphone Warehouse had also committed to a later 8900 launch on December 20.
The BlackBerry Curve 8900 improves on the Bold with a 3.2-megapixel camera, and also includes Micro SD memory card slot and Wi-Fi connectivity.
