Segway has unveiled its futuristic new 'personal transit vehicle' the Patroller, sadly for the public this is only for law enforcement and security guards
The SE–3 Patroller comes with three wheels, is no longer self balancing. What’s more, it’ll only be available to the police and security companies.
As the name suggests, it has been designed from the ground up for the needs of law enforcement professionals. It comes with headlights, brake lights, sirens, emergency lights. It also comes with a visor that we genuinely have no idea why it exists because it’s so small.
Other new features include rider detections which switches the vehicle off when it isn’t being used – handy for when a police officer needs to quickly dismount and chase the perp on foot. It also comes with a 4.3-inch screen.
Not that you can buy it, but if you’re the person in charge of buying Segways for your local police force, it’ll set you back $12,000.
There’s no word on whether or not it’ll be riding its way to this side of the Atlantic anytime soon.
