Tech Week: Apple iPhone 4 unveiled and HTC Evo

Plus: O2 scraps unlimited data and Dell Streak reviewed

It's been another busy and exciting week in tech land - here's a roundup of the week's top action:

News of the Week
There can really only be one top news story that week and that is without a doubt the unveiling of the Apple iPhone 4 by Steve Jobs during his WWDC keynote speech. Apple looks once again to have raised the bar on what to expect from a smartphone and is sure to have the hottest phone on the market when it launches on June 24th.

HTC will make sure that Apple doesn’t have it all its own way with the iPhone posing the biggest threat to the smartphone crown. Reports this week coming from U.S. network provider Sprint claiming that opening sales of the HTC Evo broke all records turned out to be nothing more than overstated embellishment and downright lies.

O2 has disgruntled fans following its announcement that it will cull all unlimited data plans for smartphone contracts. Searching to easy traffic and generate more income, the network provider is to limit inclusive contract data use to just 500MB per month. O2 has also upset customers with its listless iPhone 4 early upgrade offer but made fans by offering the new Apple smartphone on PAYG.

An exclusive for revealed that network provider 3 Mobile is to launch a new 'one-touch' edition of their portable personal Wi-Fi creator the MiFi Huawei E585. Apple to create a personal Wi-Fi hot spot for up to five devices, the new MiFi will keep iPads, laptops and handheld games consoles online whilst on the move.
