Tech Week: Amazon Kindle Fire review & more

This week's round up of the biggest tech stories so far

This week in the world of tech: Amazon Kindle Fire launches, MW3 breaks sales records and Samsung Galaxy S2 will get Android Ice Cream Sandwich

What a mighty week it has been in the crazy world of tech! First and foremost, Samsung have confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S2 will get Android Ice Cream Sandwich, although the company has made no official announcement about the date of arrival or about any other handsets.

Still, the news has gotten us all excited – especially since the Android Ice Cream Sandwich features includes face unlock and new Gmail features.

On the gaming front, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has broken gaming records after raking in $775 million or just under £500 million in five days, making it the largest entertainment launch in history and breaking the previous record set by CoD: Black Ops.

In other news, shots have leaked of what is reportedly known as the HTC Quattro, a tablet running Android Ice Cream Sandwich and sporting a quad-core processor.

Amazon has now launched the Kindle Fire, their first colour tablet with a 7-inch screen running a heavily skinned version of Android Honeycomb.

Yes, we’re excited too, and we’re pretty sure that Apple is watching closely, but is it too early to hail it as the ‘iPad killer’? You should also check out our Amazon Kindle Fire review to find out what we made of the tablet.
