Windows Phone still "very small" admits Ballmer
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer reckons Windows Phone 7 has a long way to go to be considered a serious player, but expects a big year for the OS. Ballmer says: "We've gone from very small to very small but it's been a heck of a year."It is estimated that WP7 only has a one per cent market share.

Anonymous promises biggest day ever on Tuesday
Hold on to your hats people. The hacking collective known as Anonymous is promising that today (Tuesday) will be the biggest day in its history. The group has threatened to attack the computer systems of the Metropolitan Police and the UK judiciary service to protest police involvement in the NOTW scandal.

Mac OS X Lion: The fat lady is warming her vocal chords
Apple finally seems ready to put the seal on Mac OS X Lion after the company put the word out to developers to submit their apps to the Mac App Store. Rumours have claimed that the long-awaited upgrade will arrive at the end of this week, with other reports suggesting the beginning of next. All will be revealed shortly.

New Mac Pro to arrive with MacBook Air refresh?
When Lion finally does roar, Apple is scheduled to push out a new-and-improved MacBook Air, but reports on Monday evening claim that a new Mac Pro desktop could arrive alongside the super-slim notebook. A 9to5Mac source claims to have discovered part numbers that point to the imminent arrival of a new professional Mac.

New iOS5 Beta 3 adds "Assistive Touch" functionality
The newest version of Apple's forthcoming iOS 5 software has been pushed out to developers, with one new feature of note. The Assisted Touch setting has now been switched on. The functionality will allow you to control the volume, lock screen, pinch and swipe using a single button on the touchscreen. Otherwise, the third Beta copy fixes a few bugs.
