With astronauts unable to go out for a jog to shift that nagging Christmas weight, scientists in Italy have rigged up Microsoft’s motion gaming peripheral to tell the intrepid space travellers when they are getting a bit on the hefty side. With the ability to detect the outline and body shape of gamers new plans see the entertainment add on to be used in manned space trips.

I see iTV on the horizon
Apple’s much rumoured iTV television sets have edged closer to reality once again with the company’s usual component suppliers revealing they have been instructed to begin sourcing parts in Q1 of 2012 ahead of Q2 and Q3 production and a Q4 release. The Apple branded, internet connected TV sets are said to be heading for release in 32-inch and 37-inch forms.

Eee-sy Asus unveiling ahead of CES
With a bevy of new devices set to be announced in the coming weeks in all shapes, sizes and uses at CES 2012, Asus has jumped the gun officially outing the Asus Eee PC 1225B netbook ahead of the imminent Las Vegas based show. An 11.6-inch LED backlit display is paired with a 1.65Ghz dual-core processor, up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a 750GB HDD to make up the 1225B’s impressive array of specs.

It was a green Christmas for Apple raking in the cash as newly released figures have shown the Cupertino based tech giant saw a staggering 6.8 million devices activated on Christmas day. With an average 1.5 million Apple products registered globally on a daily basis the Christmas rush shows a massive boom for the world’s leading tech company and the continued draw of Apple branded devices.

Nokia sheds new light on Lumia
Nokia’s repeatedly rumoured Lumia 800 follow on the aptly named Nokia Lumia 900 has edged closer to the realms of reality with new images and video content emerging around the second-generation collaboration between the Finnish phone manufacturer and Microsoft and its Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system. Latest rumours have suggested the as yet unannounced handset will be showcased at the upcoming CES 2012.
