Forget the Oscars, the Grammies, the BAFTAs and even the MTV Teen Choice Awards, the T3 Gadget Awards are back in town with the winners of the 19 publicly voted categories to be officially unveiled later this evening.

Headed up by Mock the Week star and all-round funny man Dara O Briain, the T3 Gadget Awards 2011 are set to be bigger and better than ever with a special previously unannounced award, decided solely by the six judges, to be handed out on the night.

With 19 categories being opened up to the public vote earlier in the ear, tonight’s awards will see the fierce battle for the title of Phone of the Year put to rest as one of the six finalists is handed the coveted prize.

Other categories set to be too close to call include Tech Brand of the Year which will see Google and Apple go head-to-head not for the only time in the evening whilst Innovation of the Year will honour the most ingenious, out-of-the-box thinking from the past 12 months.

Set to enter the prestigious realms of T3 Gadget Award winners, Tech Personality of the Year is expected to be one of the closest fought battles of the night with last year’s champion, Gadget Show host Suzi Perry, once again shortlisted for the mantelpiece adorning title alongside Stephen Fry, Sir Richard Branson, Dr Dre and Gadget Show co-host Pollyanna Woodward.
