SurfBook: the new name for the BlackBerry Tablet?

Trademark applications suggests new name for RIM's tablet

New name, or a different tablet completely from RIM?

RIM has applied for a trademark on the name SurfBook, sending tablet fanatics into overdrive about whether the BlackBerry maker has ditched the BlackPad moniker for something a little cooler.

The application doesn’t say exactly what the name will be used for. However, seasoned watchers have claimed that with the BlackBerry Tablet rumoured to be running an OS separate to that found on RIM’s top smartphones, it could easily jettison BlackPad for SurfBook.
