Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a super-strong iPod case fashioned after our favourite super hero!

They won't make you faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, or able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, but Xtreme Mac's new hero-themed cases will keep your iPod in pristine condition, which is just about super enough for us.

As well as Superman, the new Iconz series also features a Batman-themed cover, should the man of steel not float your boat, while Darth Vader, Tweety Bird and Homer Simpson also make an appearance, so there's a fascia to suit every taste available.

Sticking to the front of your 'Pod, the cover will protect the player's screen, scroll wheel and shell, but will only adhere to Apple's newest iPods with video.

Part of an exclusive collector's series, the designs are also limited edition, so you'll have to be quick to get your hands on one. Available through XtremeMac's website, the cases sell for around £16 each, kryptonite not included.
